O.k. – I can not carry a tune worth a hoot but if I could I would sing to Brian King….
"I get by with a little help from my friends!"
WHY? – When I went to Atlanta for World Card Making Day, Brian showed us how to turn a Paper Pumpkin Box into a super great box that works for not only shipping, but it is great to put a special "handmade" gift in!
When I sat there watching him do this all I could think of was my wonderful Mom….she would have said, "Why did I not think of that"
This is another great example of the simple things can make us smile! I just LOVE this tip as I have many, many of these boxes and kept them as I thought – "I just can't throw them away"
It is so simple….open it up and reverse the fold….that is it!
I hope that this TIP and TRICK made you smile! I just get so "tickled" when I learn things like this!

Time to switch – today is TUESDAY – YIPPEE SKIPPEE as this means a new batch of weekly deals…Click here to see the offerings this week and then don't forget…one day has already past for the HUGE STAMPSALE this week!
Please pop back tomorrow (I think you'll like it) as I am calling it…
There is no better way to start the week than with a simple and sweet card and when it is also SUPERDE-DUPER EASY, well ~ that is the icing on the cake that we all love! I had something different planned for today but no worries, you will see it tomorrow!
Starting today…is a special sale that Stampin' Up! is offering and one that you will want to not miss out on, all stamps are 15% off!
I know that we are "knee deep" into the Holiday catalog but as I said before last week, I feel like the annual catalog needs some love!
Today I wanted to showcase a stamp set,Watercolor Words and if you do not have this….EASY = you NEEDit. This is a fantastic stamp that is just PLAIN FUN to work with!
One of the main reasons that I adore this stamp set is the fact that you can use so many variety of color combinations that "just work" and make you look like a pro! (well we both know you are)!
You can see that using a bold and fun color makes the POP happen in an instant but the FUN is the DSP, It is Everyday Chic and I love the sheer classiness of a great Black and White print.
Using the brush tip of the end of the Watermelon Wonder Market was all I did to make this paper have a bit of pizazz…so fast, so easy, so effective!
One thing that I think that we all have in common is a struggle with "TIME" – there is no reason why you cannot whip up a simple card like this and I think that you can agree ~ it holds a BIG punch!
Carrying out the theme of the card, I cut a 1/4" strip of the FUN Watermelon Wonder and then added the DSP. Have fun with the markers and color here and there to create the fun effect!
Having a simple card is o.k. – I thnk that many of us feel guilty by being able to get a card completed in a jif. By now you know that I gravitate to the clean and simple style….WHY???? I like it…it works ….and it is my style!
Thanks for popping in today and I have a GREAT line up of posts for you this week! I spent yesterday doing the whole weeks posts! You will be smiling (well, I hope so)
I have not given you an "Eddie Update" lately….here is a picture of him last night! I hope that you can see that he looks HAPPY, has GAINED weight….and is touching all of our hearts…..he is amazing and we are still living the motto….
Whatever Eddie wants….Eddie gets!
He is so special to us and he has become "special" to many of you….I hope that he continues to do well and make it for another Thanksgiving….as then – he will eat like a king and be loved by the whole family! He is a true gift!
Have a fabulous day and I hope to see you back tomorrow!
I am sooo darn tootin' glad that so many of you enjoyed yesterdays card and I hope that I do not let you down today! (I do not think so as this one in the running for my holiday cards)!
I had a fabulous day yesterday and I thank you for you wishes….I did one thing that I love to do….cook! Guess what – Aunt Jean came to town for her 70th High School Reunion….is that the BEST or what!?!? I had my Dad, Aunt Jean and a fellow classmate of hers for dinner! It was a fun, memorable and truly a special evening!
Let's get to the card and you can see which one you liked better! Remember to click here if you missed yesterdays post to see the difference!
I always ask John and James which one is the Saturday card and which one is the Sunday card…..John guessed it right, James did not!
At first glance you might think I had it backwards but I think todays card just took some extra steps that made it super special!
The basic elements are the same – a 4 1/4" card with a layer just a 1/4" smaller, scored all the way around. What is different is the fact that I cut the center out in the Mossy Meadow and then "puzzled it together" – the below photo will show you the scoop!
I admit, I really like this card and it was super fun to make! I think that it is Christmas at it's best…I know that you are probably getting tired of me with the sentiments but what can I say – you just cannot go wrong with them – they are the best and oh so easy!
I think that the "WHITE" in this card makes a huge statement. You just can never go wrong with having lots of white as it lets the focal part POP. I also think that the Mossy Meadow "inside" give a great perception of depth!
The envelope paper is another great "bang for your buck" and it is super fun to work with – love the ease it is to use with the envelope punch board! I realize that this card will require some additional postage (as it is asquare card) but I think it is well worth it…..what do you think?
When you break this down, you could make many of these in steps! We have Parents Weekend next weekend with Hannah (our last one) and I think that I am going to stamp and cut out some wreaths so I can take my Aqua Painter, some inks and go to town!
Well as the saying goes…."That;s all Folks" – I hope that you have enjoyed the 2 day post and I hope that I have given you some insight on CASING a festive and classic card. Please do so…it is the BEST compliment I could receive.
Remember the special – I hope that we can "stick" together…..for anyone that places an order of $35.00 from today thru the 23rdI will send you a pack of Stampin' Dimensionals as a thank you!
If you place an order of $75.00 or more between today and the 23rd – I will send you both….the stampin' dimensions and also a roll of the Tear n Tape…..WOWZERS – we will REALLY be sticking together! (we always need adhesives)
Please use the hostess code of 2PJK3KQQ to take advantage of this offer!
Hit that SHOP NOW button and shop away! (With this SALE that Stampin' UP! is offering next week…..I say look at some goodies that you can take advantage of the 15% off – WOOT-WOOT – the best of both worlds)
Feel free to email me and a BIG thanks for popping in…..tomorrow I am doing the happy dance with what I am going to share with you….I hope that you will POP back……it's a keeper!
Can you believe that it is the weekend already….WOWZERS – ZOOM went this week! I have been trying to do the weekend challenges focusing on holiday cards and I know that I say this often….but this might be in the running for my holiday card! (pop back tomorrow to see the changes and then you can decide which one you favor)
You just cannot go wrong with a classic ~ a simple wreath for the holidays – always classic…always works! Todays wreath is from the Holiday Catalog , Peaceful Wreath and it is a beauty! Yep, the aqua painters were pulled out and it is so easy to use and oh so effective!
The below picture will show you how easy it is to use the aqua painters and please do not worry one bit about being an "artist" – no need….just go for it!
(click on the images as it is easier to see)
The other keeper about this wreath is that there is a matching framelit to cut it out…THAT IS THE BEST when this happens…it is like the "moon and the stars" line up and make life so easy!
You can see that I used the simply scored to do a simple, quick yet effective scoring on all sides and it does the trick –
In this matching framelit, Wonderful Wreath~ there is the great sentiment of "joy" – I just LOVE this word as it might be short, but it is so meaningful.
I did what I love to do, use the vanilla coaster board. Having the 2 words works for me as I like the effect it gives when you "double them up"
For the top "joy", I used the super affordable red liner paper ~ what an AMAZING bargain and the color is so beautiful and classic for the holiday season (plus it will be great for Valentines)
You can see the instant "festiveness" of this card coming together! The stampin' dimensionals make it "rise to the occasion"
I used the mono glue to adhere the joy…I just love this adhesive1
Look below and see how fun this card is with the super fun red envelope! Once again, envelope punch board to the rescue. This is such a life saver and also such a great gift to give to your favorite crafter….super price point!
That's it my friends….if you like today's card – I think that you are going to enjoy tomorrows! Remember, I am hosting a holiday card swap so get your thinking caps on to make a card and send it my way and in turn, you will get a beauty!
