You’re gonna smile!

IMG_0491

When this stamp set came out…I smiled. How can you not smile when you see this adorable frog? It does not get any easier than this ~ a simple square card with a simple focal stamp!

You can see that I masked off the sentiment that is with this image but then I easily placed another sentiment from the Endless Thanks Photopolymer Set which makes it super easy to line up!

IMG_0484

The card is a 4" square card and I did use the watercolor paper to make this dear little frog. I tend to use the Sahara Sand a bunch as it works for many projects! This little guy is so darn cute that you can not go wrong with many color combinations!

I took the super fun polka paper from the paper stack to make the POP happen easily. This color is so fun and fresh.

IMG_0485

I think the "fun factor" is the Bakers Twine…when I do this – I just takes pieces and press them against some snail to hold them tight and then the stampin' dimensionals did the trick? Easy = it works!

IMG_0487

I wanted to give a "little something sweet" to my friend so I jazzed up the paper pumpkin from September and I think it did the trick….what do you think?

I used another stamp from the Endless Thanks along with the Cucumber Crush 1" Dotted Lace Trim  to add that extra special touch that is the "icing on the cake".

IMG_0495

Envelope Punch Board to the rescue….so fast and easy and the liner….WOW – so affordable. This is a thinner paper and it is super fun and easy to use! The scrolling store will help guide you with a simple click to duplicate this sweet card!

It a PPA Day!

IMG_0474

Today is not only a Pals Paper Art Challenge~ it is a super fun sketch for a very special day as my "peep" James turns 25 today! Wow ~ that is super hard to believe and I try to remember the "special times" and famous memories that he has not only given to John and I but celebrate his accomplishments that he always gives!

Here is the sketch that we are to work with this week and I do hope that you try it. I am super excited to see everyones interpretation of this fun sketch. Please find some "me time" and play along. It is super simple to upload your work, just go the the site and a quick click and you are done!

PPA272_kwb

I know that it is hard to come up with Masculine Cards…but just think if how you could easily change up the Designer Series Paper and colors of paper to fit for many cards that you might need. Because the stamp set is a photopolymer set, it is super easy to make the pattern in a cinch! This is from the good old – "Age Awareness" Stamp set – what a FUN one!

135381G

You know that I am a HUGE lover of "sentiments" and each and every time one comes out – you can bet that it will be arriving to Randall Lane! This is from the Hello You Thinlits Dies ~ I just think that they always make a statement and they make it super easy to make a card!

IMG_0468

I have had so many questions about the Vanilla Coaster Board and I will do a video on how I use it but I am a lover of it as it adds that extra special touch that really "sets off" your work. I do usually "double it up" and I use the "green glue" to adhere them.

TIP ALERT: – Remember that you can just put the glue on….set it side to "set up" and then at the end, simply adhere!

IMG_0412

This was not only a super card to make, it was fun! It uses minimal products and it is rewarding to stamp sentiment after sentiment and know that you can get it "just right" because you can see through the stamp because it is a photopolymer!

Because I did not want to make it too fussy, I just added the fun candle print paper to the back flap! You know men, sometimes they think that fussy paper is too feminine but this paper works with this layout.

  IMG_0476

You know me by now…I adore, love, my friend = The white gel pen….

Could not…would be be without it!

It is the "icing on the cake" for many of my cards as it always adds a great interest, a depth, a FUN factor that is nothing more than a little time….and WOW – what a difference!

IMG_0453

Thanks for popping in today, please let me know how you like this card. I think that it is a keeper for just about anyone. We all need Birthday Cards throughout the year, and I think that this is one that would be a fun card to have on hand in many colors…."just in case"!

Pop back tomorrow….I know you will smile! Have a fabulous day and I truly wish that each and everyone of you could meet my dear James….one thing I have always said about James since he was a little tike….

"If there were more James' in the world, it would be a happier place"!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Jane Knudsen at See Jane Stamp, number 14 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

IMG_0421

Today I am showing a Fall Card as not only is Fall my very favorite season of the year, but where I live in Maryland  we are starting to see the beauty of the changing of the leaves. Isn't it just spectacular to see the beauty of nature?

You might be surprised that I am using a color that you do not see a bunch. It is Always Artichoke and I am personally a fan of it. WHY? It will fool you as it looks great with many different colors…try it!

IMG_0427

This is a super easy card to make and also this would be a great card to make many of (I think that this might be my Thanksgiving Card). The star of the show is the fabulous Lighthearted Leaves Photopolymer Stamp Set and you know me and my sentiment die cuts ~ LOVE THEM…..FAST~EASY~DONE….that my motto and I am going to stick by it!

139712G

The always artichoke piece is ¼” smaller than the base and then I took it to the simply scored and scored it 1 notch in and then 2 notches it….as super fun and easy technique that carries a big punch!

IMG_0428

After I completed the scoring, I adhere this to the very vanilla before putting dimensionals on the vanilla piece.

I stamped the leaf on a scrap of Very Vanilla and then used the framelit to cut it out! While I had the framlit out, I went ahead and cut out (2) more leaves in the vanilla coaster board to give the leaf some lift!

Now for the FUN part…coloring – go back to your childhood and have FUN.

No rules, just pick some colors that you like and go to town! The markers that I used today are Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Hello Honey. It is both fun and relaxing to color and you will always end with a huge smile on your face!

IMG_0429

The soft and simple bow was made my simply pulling 3 strands of threads from the burlap ribbon and adhered with a glue dot. I think that this makes the sweetest bow as it is so natural and always lays great!

The sentiment is from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies. A true keeper of keepers and along with the vanilla coaster board…you are good to go with a SUPER SIMPLE yet CLASSIC look! I did the same thing that I did with the leaf. cut one in the very vanilla and (2) in the coaster board. I use the "green glue" to adhere the layers!

139658G

I adore lined envelopes and today is no difference. Using the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack and the envelope liner framelit….love this look!

IMG_0430

This card is not only clean, crisp and classic….it is so much fun to make and super fun to change up the colors for a totally different look!

BOO! It’s hip to be square!

IMG_0394

You know that I adore my square cards! Today’s card is “doubly” HIP TO BE SQUARE as you can see that I have many, many squares! When I was an avid scrap-booker, I loved using 1″ squares to add fun and interest to a card!

This is not only a super great way to use up scraps but it is a FUN and FESTIVE card that will surely bring a smile to anyone that is lucky enough to receive it….Because this is a favorite layout for me, I am going to give you the scoop as I hope that you make a card like this….just think of all of the amazing DSP’s we have….FUN!

The “secret weapon” for this card is the 1″ punch, true you can use the trimmer for it but trust me, not only is it easier/faster with a punch…you get the exact same time each and every time!

Let’s get going as I do love to share with you how to make cards that make my heart happy and this layout is one of them!

IMG_0395

  • The overall size of this card is a 4 1/2″ square in Very Vanilla
  • Using 4 different patterns pop out (4) of each using the 1″ punch
  • Take a 4″ piece of scrap and cover the square with the pieces you popped out. (This is another key factor for this card…by having this as a base, you will never have to worry it you have them straight etc…)

IMG_0392

  • Cut a piece of black a “smidge” larger, 4 1/8″ and add then the “fun square masterpiece” to it.
  • The “BOO” came from the Boo To You Framelits Dies….this is a fun bundle from the new catalog!
  • The Lots Of Labels Framelits Dies were the framelits that made the back drop for the BOO! Pull out your black pen and dash away and dot away, this add a great touch but…..

IMG_0400

  • Now the the silly fun….the crazy silver threads coming out of the back of the sentiment. I simply took snail to the back and then added strands of thread to give it a festive effect –
  • The envelope was made with the envelope punch board…fast, fun and oh so custom each and every time. I laugh at myself when I think that I was so intimidated with this tool when it first came out but trust me, for $20.00 ~ it is one of the best bangs for your buck and you will always be able to make any size of envelopes.

IMG_0397

That it….well not really as you know what today is…the weekly deals! Each Tuesday Stampin’ Up! comes out with 6 items that they are offering for 25% off….I say WOOT-WOOT and THANKS! Remember, they are only good thru next Monday evening so please do not put it off as you will be frustrated with yourself, trust me…..I have been there many times!

Thanks for your time…thanks for your support – Tomorrow will be a SUPER fun day as it is a Blog Hop…the theme is great, the designers will tantalize you with many, many inspirations!

Please feel free to click that SHOP NOW button or the products that I used for today are in the below scrolling store!

Monday fun!

IMG_0363

Good Monday morning and I have a super sweet, fun and simple card for you today! I made a switch back to the annual catalog as I as feeling sorry for it as once the Holiday Catalog comes out….the poor Annual one gets to the back-burner!

If you follow my blog, you already know that I adore single stamps and I was thrilled that this stamp was carried over! A great single stamp like this one, Kind Koala is a keeper as not only it is sweet but also it is super affordable at just  $10.00.

IMG_0371

I am trying to continue to show and share with you that using Designer Series Paper as a focal part to the front of a card nit only “WORKS” but also makes a great impact! To kick off the week – I have given you all of the dimensions so I do hope that you will try this card!

  • The card is an A-2 card in the vertical position and I am using the Heavy Card Stock. If you have not worked with this…it is easy – YOU NEED TO and I can almost guarantee that once you try it, you will never go back.
  • I cut another piece of white to 4” X 5 ¼” to use as a base for a mat to build the card on.
  • Cutting the Designer Series paper at the same size (4” X 5 ¼”) I am able to make (2) of these cards at the same time. This paper is from the Into the Woods Paper Pack. I took the paper trimmer and placed it on the diagonal on the track and cut it in half. I adhere this to the white piece.

IMG_0370

  • I admit, I used the stamp-a-ma jig to place my little friend as I wanted it to be “JUST RIGHT” and I know that I am reassured of perfect placement each and every time with my “plastic friend”. I used the must have new Black Archival Ink.
  • This ink allows you to watercolor with it and even though I am not using watercolor paper today, this heavy weight card stock will work fine with a small area like I am showcasing. The colors I used were Soft Suede and Hello Honey with the Aqua Painters.
  • To carry the theme of this card, I took the soft suede and the hello honey and cut slivers of paper to adhere against the DSP for some fun interest.

IMG_0367

  • I added a little bow to our friend but pulling the threads from the 5/8" cotton ribbon and then added a fun bow to make him feel extra special!
  • To make everything POP, I matted this to a piece of soft suede a smidge larger…. 4 1/8" X 5 3/8". To me, this is just the perfect POP to pull it all together and trust me, I used the centers and punched out some acorns! (No wasting a bit)
  • You know me, my favorite part of my cards….the beloved envelope – I used 1/4" strips of paper and then the DSP….adhered it and then snipped the excess away!

IMG_0358

Hopefully that this brought a smile to your face today and it also inspired you to pull of some DSP and use it as a focal part to your projects. I know that it is hard to do but once you give it a try, you will love it!

Please do not forget that I Rewards program – Paw Prints Rewards to "thank you" for your support. Who does not like free stamp sets….I know I sure do! Have a great day and here is to a great week ahead.
