“Star light…Star bright”

IMG_2285

Yesterday I shared with you a fun card using the star framelit and I told you that today I will be doing another card with this framelit and also a NEW stamp set that is sold as a bundle ( just for this promotion until the end of August) and this bundle can be your FREE with a purchase of a Big Shot!

Even though the NEW products from the Catalog are not available until the 28th, you can purchase this special stamp set and framlit NOW…it is called Bright & Beautiful! (love the name)

135029G

Please see the stamp & framelit sets that you can get for free. If you do not have a Big Shot, this is the best opportunity to purchase one. Click here and you can see the options and you can also order!

I think that if you follow a bunch of blogs, you can see “hands down” that this is a tool that we all just love and would not be without! ! I have a funny story for you…the first time I used it I thought I had totally ruined the plates as they naturally got all scratched up and I was so worried…I still think of this each time I use it!

You are getting a double whammy as I am going to showcase 2 different cards using these framelits and stamp set! Let’s go!

For the above card…I used the largest Star Framelit and took a piece of Very Vanilla folded over and ran it through the Big Shot – shaped cards are so fun and different.

Using a piece of scraps of very vanilla – stamped the image in Mossy Meadow and then used the coordinationg framelit…PRESTO!!! I think that this color is going to be my "go to" Holiday Color…I love it and I think that it will be stunning with the satin ribbon!

Now here is the fun part…after you cut out the star which is soooo fast and easy with the Big Shot… use a piercing tool – make a hole in the center of the star so you can see then middle when it is flipped over.

Take the star to the simply scored tool upside down and line up the points into a groove and carefully score! HOW EASY! (You can see that I was a bit off on one side but in the end it does not matter)

IMG_2268

Fold to the inside of the points to give it the depth/3 D effect! FUN right!!! Last year my dear friend Brian King did something like this and I never gave it a try but when I saw this stamp set…it spoke to me…try it!!!

To adhere it all I did was use mini glue dots at the end of each point and then I stacked up (3) stampin’ Dimensionals on top of each other for the center in case “gravity” through mailing would make it sink!

IMG_2271

Now to card #2 – I used again the Mossy Meadow for the stamped image and then cut out a larger one to mat it! The size of the overall card is 5” square card and then using the super fun neutral of crumb cake  – today’s card is coming together!

IMG_2278

I used the same technique that I did for the star (one the 1st card) The fun embellishment of the pearls was a perfect touch for both cards. Remember, it is so much easier to use the piercing tool to “lift” up the pearls and adhesive (saves a bunch of frustration!)

IMG_2282

When I looked at the card I felt it still needed something…I wasn’t sure if the white gel pen would be the right answer and be too stark but it works perfectly. I often get asked about my dashes – the best advise I can give you it JUST DO IT…do not worry if they are not the same length etc…the end result will be “just fine”!

The sentiment is from the NEW stamp set called Endless Wishes and it is available for you to order from starting August 28th! This stamp set was a limited edition last year and sold out and there were lots of “Sad Stampers” but I am thrilled that they have it in the catalog this year!

IMG_2283

After making my own envelope with the help of the Punch Board, I lined it with the fun paper from the Trim the Tree Paper Stack….YES – there is a new paper stack and I am thrilled…these gems make life oober easy!

INTERSTING TIP: –  I have used 3 different shade of green for this card but the end result is…IT WORKED! There are times that you need to “tweek” colors to make it work for the project you are working on.

IMG_2289

WHAT DO I MEAN? Well I stamped the sentiment with Old Olive instead of the Mossy Meadow…WHY??? It would have been too dark on the crumb cake (if I used the Mossy Meadow) – and this looks like the perfect match!

For the envelope liner…the coordinating color (for the new paper stack) showed it to be garden green but because the print was so small I tried it against the card and it looks "just fine”

Well…you like? I was happy and it is hard to believe that we will be working with Holiday Stamps….I think that the selection of sets in the Holiday Catalog are super-duper!

If you are currently not working with a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and would like to receive a catalog, please email me and I will be happy to mail you a catalog and also work with you!

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about this post and also with the promotion of the Big Shot! It truly is an amazing tool that is a one time investment that makes our job easy!

Enjoy the day and thanks for popping by – until tomorrow!

“You’re a STAR”

IMG_2258

Well…I have a confession and when I read Jeanie’s comment yesterday about it being Thursday NOT Wednesday I totally laughed out loud! I am soooo darn confused with what day it is. Hannah and I have been in “high gear” trying to get all of her things ready to go abroad for the semester!

As you can see…today’s card is for the Pals Paper Art Challenge and that goes live on Thursday’s but here you go! Below is the color palette that we are to work with this week and I hope you go to the Pals Paper Art sight and see the inspiration that the Design Team #2 came up with this week!

Screen shot 2014-08-13 at 10.46.45 PM

This is a FUN card and even though it looks like the list of supplies is MANY…they are really the basics! You know me…I like to create clean and simple cards that can be easily duplicated…and this is one of those kinda cards!

IMG_2252

Think out of the box…change up the embossing folder…change up the stamp set…change up the size of the card – just have fun! Let’s get going….

  • The card is a 5” square in Pear Pizzazz and then the other layers are (white) 4 ¾” square and (strawberry slush) 4 5/8” square!
  • The FUN factor to the Strawberry Slush piece is that I left 1” on the bottom plain…I simply put the NEW Lucky Star Embossing Folder over the paper but left a 1” overhang and then simply ran it though the BIG SHOT!

IMG_2257

  • Pulling out the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set (remember I used it yesterday and just look at the different feel this card has) and I decided to heat emboss the sentiment! (This still gets me excited every time I turn on the heat tool)
  • The Star came from the Be the Star Stamp Set and then there are matching framelits…woot-woot, Mr. Big Shot had another chance to play today!

IMG_2264

TIP ALERT: I realize that this is a person preference but when I emboss with an embossing folder I like to adhere this piece to the white piece and THEN put the stampin’ dimensionals under the white! WHY??? I think that sometimes the embossed piece gets a bit warped!

  • Taking a piece of Black and White Bakers Twine and wrapping it around not only “broke” the embossing but it gave the card some interest!
  • I knew that using the Pear Pizzazz that I could make an envelope with the envelope punch board and the color still be light enough to write on the envelope! That is such a great tool and I was able to make the envelope with a 8 ¼” square piece of paper! 133692G
  • Heat embossing the front added some fun but the FUN Confetti Celebration DSP made the POP happen! I just love my envelopes!

IMG_2263

That’s is folks! I might be a day late but I think I used the colors well! Hopefully you have a SUPER STAR to send a fun card to!

Please do not forget about the great opportunity with the Big Shot promotion! Please click here to see the free offerings and pop back tomorrow as I will be showcasing the Stars framelits with a NEW stamp set…

If you are not 100% sure of what the Big Shot does...CLICK HERE to watch a quick video on this great product!

If you go back through my blogs you will see that I use the Big Shot just about daily…it is an amazing tool and I will say that when Hannah sees me use it, she always says….”That thing is amazing…. it does so much!”

IMG_2256

Enjoy your Friday….(yep! I’ve got the day right)…until tomorrow!

“hooray” for simplicity!

IMG_2247

It's hump day…that means it is Wednesday and I am doing a "happy dance" with today's card! As I told Hannah…I think that this is definitely on my top 10 for this year! WHY??? It is totally me…clean, crisp and super simple!

Before we get going today…wasn't the blog hop GREAT! Wow – so much talent out there…I am always amazed and inspired!

Let's get going as I have the dimensions for you…and I know you like that when I do it! I want you to totally CASE this card and have fun with colors, have fun with the sentiments….just have FUN!

The stamp set is called Pictogram Punches and I have no idea why it has taken me this long to order it….t totally blew past me and I am sooooo happy it is in my studio! Tomorrow I am also going to do another card using it! I love all of the little images and the total simplicity of it!

134264G

I did a quick surf on Pinterest and saw the Night of Navy used and thought….LOVE IT! This is a kind of card that my Mom would have just loved it! I know that she would have said…"make me a dozen of these"

IMG_2241

  • The card is the good old A-2 card in Very Vanilla and then the Night of Navy is 4" X 5 1/4"
  • The DSP is Flashback – I am loving this as it looks super super as the background neutral is Very Vanilla…a bit softer!

133699G

  • The DSP size is 2 1/2" X 4 1/2" and then the Very Vanilla piece that you will be stamping is 2" X 4" and then I matted it with Real Red a "smidge" larger – 2 1/8" X 4 1/8"
  • The KEY TOOL is…..the STAMP-A-MA-JIG!!! I know no sighs….just do it! It would perfectly to align up everything!

IMG_2250

  • TIP: I like to stamp the flowers on the paper and then I also used scraps to stamp again and then using the itty bitty accents punches….soooooo cute! I adhered them with a simple glue dot and then added a teeny, tiny pearl!
  • Because this card is so simple, a quick lift with some stampin' dimensionals made the card come to life! True I have used a lot of paper, but remember…cut out the insides with some punches to reuse!

IMG_2243

  • How about this sentiment! it is from the must have photopolymer Stamp Set, Endless Wished and it is a TOTAL keeper! Look at all of the fun sentiments!

137553G

  • All that is left is the envelope and I am super smiling with this envelope! I did a double whammy again! Now wouldn't you love to open up this card!

IMG_2244

Carrying the DSP, I lined the outer flap! So quick yet fun! I do hope that you can see that a clean and simple stamp set like this can bring you a multitude of FUN!

IMG_2248

Please pop back tomorrow for another Pals Paper Art Challenge….see what I have up my sleeve! Email me if I can help you and I hope that you all had as much fun as I did going through all of the blogs!

Until tomorrow!

I love this Blog Hops theme…todays post will be a bit different as I know that you have 39 Blogs to hop to and from! Have fun…be a sponge and take it all in!

IMG_2207

If you follow my blog, you already know that Polka Dots make me smile and they make me happy so I thought that it would be super appropriate to use this sentiment as it is ONE HAPPY DAY hopping from inspiration to inspiration on the PALS Blog Hop!

Today I did a double Polka Dot fun…using the MUST HAVE "Green Glue" to adhere the 1/2" circles on top of the circles from the embossed LARGE polka dots!

Also if you follow my blog  -  I love and adore super simple cards that are practical, doable and just plain FUN! I think that this card has all the factors of that…

IMG_2212

  4. Our Punches….LOVE THEM – simply the BEST on the market…I say try to add a new one with your orders to gradually get a great collection. This one I used the 1/2" punch!IMG_2221
  5. Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack…well let me clarify – we have the best DSP's but now that they have come out with the paper stacks….they are GREAT! 133701G

Who’s counting the years!

IMG_1624

I shared with you that I have had a lot of Birthdays this month but think about this…we all have a birthday every year and we all have many, many people to send cards to! I think that this is fun and a bit whimsical all at the same time!

I do hope that you will give it a try and case away….change up the colors to suit your needs! I adore these Photopolymer Stamps as they are the best for perfect alignment. I must admit, when they first came out with them I was not crazy about them…but a total 360 for me...LOVE THEM! Make sure you see the new stamp that was just released today at the end of the post!

This stamp set is called Age Awerness and it truly has endless possibilities! You can see by the pictures that I have "maxed it out" using many stamps and the "Thanks, Facebook" stamp makes me totally laugh!

135381G

I simply adore stripes….the bolder is great with me and this DSP is from the Maritime DSP and WOWZERS – is it handsome or what! I was very happy with the rich and vibrant colors that this paper offers…it does not have to be a "nautical theme" what so ever!

IMG_1621

Stamping these adorable candles is EASY -PEASY as you can see right through the stamp! No Stamp-a-ma-jig needed today! I think that it would be super fun to do a bunch of different colors of candles! Because the width of the actual stamp is so narrow, this would be a fun thing to try!

IMG_1625

The colors I used were from the DSP…Real Red, Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana. Now that we have the Bakers Twine in this color, I simply could not resist! Please do not stress about it…just let it roll – put some adhesive on the back of the base and go for it!

IMG_1628

I love white space….but I did think that I needed a bit of stitching to break it up! This is one thing that I do a bunch and again, please do not stress – just let your pen roll!

IMG_1633

You can see that I lined the outer flap of the envelope but I just was oober excited about the front of the envelope today….so easy and WOW – you would laugh if you received this?

IMG_1631

I hope that you are smiling! I think that this is a FUN card. It comes together in a flash and this stamp set is one that will be used over again as we ALL HAVE BIRTHDAYS!

I have a word of advice for you….MAKE TIME FOR TOMORROW…it is our monthly BLOG HOP and it is a BLUE RIBBON WINNER…there are over 39 people participating and you are going to be inspired to the MAX!

Thanks for popping by……click here to see the Tuesday Deals that Stampin' Up! has for you this week…and then hit that shop now button while you are in your jammies! How easy and fun is that!

Get the coffee ready for tomorrow and we will HAVE FUN! Enjoy your day and until tomorrow!

p.s. – when I woke up this morning and checked the Tuesday Updates…Look at this new FUN Photopolymer Stamp Set – love it's name…YEE-HAW! It is GREAT! I already have a card in my head!!! Click here to see the flyer!
