Here is still another card we are making tonight for the "angel program" where a group of volunteers come together to make cards for Breast Cancer patients in treatment! We do this the 1st Wednesday of the month and not only is it fun….it is rewarding!
I have to come up with very simple designs as many of the people that come to assemble the cards….do not know a thing about card making…they simply love to come out and do something great for our community!
I often get asked,"Why do you take this on each month and donate all of the supplies etc…" – SIMPLE = I know 1st hand from losing my Mom to cancer how much a card meant…and also, this is a gift of my time and energy to give back to our community!
Now…this is such a sweet card, and…E A S Y !!! So clean, fresh and crisp with a minimal amount of supplies…Here you go…

- Base is standard A-2 card of Whisper White.
- I am SOOOO glad that the Polka Dot Parade Paper is carried over to this year….so fun! The Marina Mist was cut to 5 1/2' X 2" and then matted with Daffodil Delight to 5 1/2' X 2 1/4"
- Using the new Label Love Stamp Set, I simply stamped the "just for you" in Marina Mist and then POPPED it out using the Artisan Label Punch…sooo darn easy!
- Naturally, the Stampin Vitamins….Stampin' Dimensionals came out of full force to pop this sentiment! ( can NEVER have too many of these gems!!!)
- The mats for the label are White 1 3/4" X 2 1/4" and the Daffodil Delight is 2 1/2" X 2"

- Trying to keep it clean…I thought pulling out the Simply Scored was all that it needed….( please click on the pictures to make it large if you need to!!!) – I scored 2 simple lines on the top and bottom! ( it doesn't get any easier than that….right????)
- Presto….a simple lining for the envelope on the Polka Dots is all this card needed to be a 1-2-3…DONE….simple card!

I know that this card is about as basic as you could ever get…BUT…it also is as cute as you could ever get! Keeping things clean, simple, straight-forward is just as beautiful as a "fru-fru" card and we ALL know we DO like making cards that are a challenge to us, but today's card is truly a F A S T card to whip up!
Again, just like yesterday's post….this card is one card to "keep the style" in the back of your creative head – why??? = SIMPLE – there are many, MANY times that we simply do not have a ton of time to re-create the wheel…just duplicate this style – switch up the stamps and paper….D O N E !!!!
Remembering…ordering simply can not be any easier…click here and you can order your little heart away while being in your jammies…having a cup of coffee….and the best thing is – it gets delivered right to your door! How easy!
Update on the deer….."Bucky" is doing GREAT and is with 5 other "orphanage" friends…he is eating and having fun – he will be at his foster home until he is about 4-6 months old and then he will be put out in a Wildlife Preserve….back to nature where is needs to be!
I hope that today's post put a smile on your face and I hope that you have a fabulous day!
Until tomorrow…..

Here is another card we are making this month for the wonderful and brave Cancer patients that are going through treatment! I know at first glance it seems rather…"plain Jane" but this is a keeper design and I know the patients will have an instant smile on their face when they receive it!
When designing cards for these volunteers to make, I have to keep them simple and duplicatable as we make 14 of each design that I create! Many of the people that come to assembling these beautiful cards…do not have a clue as what to do…but one thing they ALL have is a beautiful heart that wants to give to others!
Many times you here me say that finding a style that you are comfortable with…then changing up the paper, sentiments and embellishments – can end you up with a total new look – well this is one card that is that!
Please try this and then keep in for the future when your brain is simply not in a "creative mode" and then use this layout….PRESTO – you'll feel great about yourself and you will have a beautiful card!
Please email me or leave me a comment and let me know how you like it….it is soooooo simple – a definite keeper! Also, please share my blog with your family and friends and encourage them to subscribe to it so they can have a cup of coffee in the morning with me and I can let some "feel goods" and "inspiration" in them to start their day!

Here you go…..
- Base is an A-2 card in Melon Mambo
- I matted them in Pear Pizzazz just 1/8" larger than the print paper…adhere them together in the adhesive of your choice - I used the Tombo Multi Purpose Glue as it is FAST!
- TIP: ( I know…I get a bit too picky but it is so easy and quick to do), I draw a pencil line down the center of my card to place the middle panel to make sure it is centered and then I work from side to side!)
- The sentiment is from the Feels Good Stamp Set and it was placed on a 3" X 2 3/4" rectangle. Because I have had to cut out 16 of these…I did use the Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement
- Using a sponge…I lightly sponged the edges to soften up the starkness of the white and then placed it on a piece of Pear Pizzazz just 1/8" bigger!
- The liner was the finale and the look it gives is perfect!

I hope that you are lovin' the new catalog! Please click here and shop away! There are so many fun and exciting items! I just can't wait to get my order!
Please keep this "keeper" card in your "go to's" in a rush…a perfect, fun and crisp look that we certainly bring a smile to your face as it is going to give to those that we are making them for tomorrow evening!
Have a wonderful day and until tomorrow…….

It is a new week…and the LAST day to order any of the products that are being retired…I know it's sad….but it has to happen to keep things fresh and fun! Please click here if you want to order any of the bye-bye gems!
Today's card is a clean and simple card that I will be using for my monthly Breast Cancer Cards that many volunteers come together to make cards for those currently in treatment! I make up (2) samples and then the volunteers copy 14 of them!
- The base is an A-2 Whisper White and then I cut another piece just 1/4" smaller and then ran it through the Big Shot using the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (I will miss this one!
- TIP - know that you might not think this is necessary….but I find it to be so easy to put sticky strip down on the paper….BEFORE you run it through the Big Shot…simply pull off and your adhesive sticks and lays super flat!

- Before adhering the 2 together I place the ribbon on the diagonal and then making a simple knot – it gave it the clean and fun look! I used a simple mini glue dot…quick and easy!
- The simple sentiment came from a NEW Hostess Stamp Set, Sweetly Framed,…and using the decorative label punch makes is a quick, simple and effective look for a focal point!

- I POPPED out another one, then I cut it in half and adhered them together…POPPED them up with Stampin Dimensionals!

I love the mixture of textures and the simplicity of this card! You see….simple can be just as clean and effective and the same message will show through in your work…a card from your heart!
I know many of you enjoy hearing my "things that just seem to happen to me" and yesterday was one of those days! Before going to Leighton's graduation I went for a run and as I was coming back towards my home…here is what I saw in the middle of the road…

Is this the cutest little deer in the world! The story goes as a lady came out of a house and said that the Mama Deer hopped over the fence in the field and the baby did not make it…I went to put the baby over the fence but it was barbed wire and I could not…
After making calls and being told to leave it and the Mother would be back…I just had to bring him back to my farm as I knew he was going to be hit!
Long Story and a great story….there is an amazing lady that works for the DNR and came and got him! This is her 6th orphan deer that she has right now and she will nurse him and feed him until he is 4 – 6 month old and then he will go to a deer sanctuary to be put in the wild where he belongs!
I now have a new friend and I am sooooo impressed with how she helps so many different animals! – She also had 2 little ducks in her car!
Call me crazy…but I do have a big and soft heart for animals! I look forward to watching him grow as I will stay in touch with his growing! He was soooooo sweet and soooooo little!
My order for all of the NEW goodies is in and I cannot wait to get my paws on them!
Remember to email me and put in the subject line – Stamps for Sale – and I am compiling an email list of people that will have 1st opportunity to purchase some great retired stamps….we as Stampin' Up Demonstrators cannot do this until after the company finishes the ability for people to order….today is the last day to order the discontinued products so I am working on the list of goodies to sell!
Enjoy the day and until tomorrow…..

Yesterday's post, I shared with you that today is my dear godson's Graduation from High School! It is hard to believe that Leighton is off to college in just a couple short months! WOW – where has all of the time gone!
Probably next to his parents…I am one of the proudest in the world today! Watching him grow over the past (almost 17 years) has been a true joy! His Mom and I have gone to school together since nursery school (now…isn't that super cool in itself!!!)…and this year we both turn 50!!!
Leighton has grown in so many ways and has accomplished so much as well….from being the super athlete…to having a voice that would make anyone's jaw drop…to being in theater productions….to being head of Disciplinary Committee….to keeping up with his hard academics….he has done all this and more – So…so proud of him!

Now to the card…I know what you are thinking….why am I showing you something that is going to be going bye-bye on Monday….simple – cause' I love it and because it reminds me of Leighton! He is not only the "Super Preppy" guy on campus…he wears bow ties and he wears them sooooo well!
It just seemed fitting to make him a graduation card with this bow tie from the Dapper Dad Stamp Set! If you remember a couple of weeks ago I did a Birthday spinner card….please go to that post and see the instructions how to do it!
Here is the link:
http://simplestampin.typepad.com/simplestampin/2013/05/twirling-wishes-your-way-for-your-birthday.html
Here are a couple of tips that I had to adapt to make this card!
- The color of ink and paper is a bye-bye color of Bravo Burgundy…( I know that there are not too many loosing sleep over this color leaving….but it is the schools colors!)
- When I went to put the penny on the bow tie….I had to go to "Plan B" because naturally I would not want the penny to show – and LOOK AT THIS….it looks super cute…I used a White Button from the Neutrals Button Collections! I was sooooo excited!!!!

- The sentiment came from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set and then I simply free-hand cut it out and matted it! TIP – Make sure you place it low enough for when the bow tie "spins" it does not cover the sentiment!
- The envelope designer paper came from the Regals Paper Collection!

I just love interactive cards! I have played and played with this and it just puts a smile on my face watching the bow tie go back and forth!
Do you ever stop and think if all of the fun things we make out of paper…my husband is one of my biggest fans and he always is in awe of my cards! Challenge yourself to try to do something "new" and "out of the box"!!!
I truly would have never thought that I would have had the confidence to try new concepts as I am pretty much "plain Jane" when it comes to card-making…..this is a fun one to do!
Remember to email me with the subject line of "Stamps for Sale" and I will send an email out to those who have emailed me ( to give you 1st dibs!!!) before I post them on my blog…as the saying goes…the early bird gets the worm! I will have a selection of various discontinued items!
Have a fabulous day and until tomorrow…..
by Susan Itell | Jun 1, 2013 | Stamp-a-ma-jig, Super Easy, Thank You |

It's the weekend!!! YEAH…and again another busy one for my family! My godson is graduating from High School tomorrow and it will be a special day filled with many friends and family!
The summer always seems to bring out fun celebrations! With them…we all could use a stash of fun and quick "thank you's" and it doesn't get any cleaner and simpler than this!
I know that yesterday the "cyber-waves" were in full hurricane force with the ordering of the new catalog! Stampin' Up! does an amazing job! On Thursday I called the main office for a simple question and they said…"we can't wait for tomorrow…the buzz on order day is exhilarating"…That just made my evening…I just always love and appreciate the positiveness of the home office!
Here you go…I hope this shows you that…less is best many times – so simple!
- Base is Whisper White and the colors I chose were from the designer paper, Quatrefancy Specialty Paper – Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo…
- I always use a ruler and a faint pencil line that I erase after I am finish stamping…this was soooo easy – the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set was the simple stamp I used – so simple!
- The Stamp-a-ma-Jig is a MUST and if you are still not using this wonderful tool ALL THE TIME…email me and I will be happy to help you…it is my lifesaver!
- The sentiment came from the One in a Million Stamp Set and I masked part of the sentiment just to get the part I wanted!
- Using the Itty Bitty Punch this was a simple yet effective touch to the centers and then the finishing touch was a simple pearl in the middle – adhered with a mini glue dot!

- The liner is the POP factor of a FUN COLOR BURST and the Quatrefancy Paper Pack is a simple must have…so clean and crisp!

This stamp set that I used today is one that I would definitely consider to be on a "A List" to have…the ideas and uses are endless…I look forward to playing around with it a bunch!
Remember….if you want to see the retired stamps sets I am selling….please shoot me an email and simply put in the subject line "Stamps for Sale" and on Tuesday , June 4th I will post the stamps that will be parting ways with….
I have been "grouping" the emails I have already received….so please do not think I forgot you!
Please have fun looking at the new catalog and let your imagination go wild! As always, I am an email away and love hearing your ideas and comments!
Until tomorrow…
