Well keeping in the theme of today's post…one thing that I always loved about a birthday was when my Mom fixed my favorite Birthday Dinner…

You'll never guess what is was (this is when I was young)…..BBQ Spare Ribs, Baked Pineapple and Scalloped Potatoes…and the cake…her Chocolate Cake with the BEST butter-cream icing!

I love odd size cards and I adore these 3 X 3 Whisper White cards with Stampin' Up's perfect envelopes! I say WOOT-WOOT!!! This is a clean, fun, and classic note enclosure that anyone would love to receive!

Using the Whisper White in the 12 X 12 was a cinch….so easy! The tools used were just like 1…2…3! The Big Shot and the Framelits in the Apothecary Accents and the Squares made is a quick and effective run through! I just love my Big Shot!

IMG_1613
The fun came from the Create a Cupcake Stamp Set and the Cupcake Builder Punch…..like peanut butter and jelly  – you just have to have both….so click here and get them!

“Tag It” makes a difference!!!

Today's post serves 2 purposes….wishing a friend a Happy Birthday and making a difference to the Ronald McDonald House! Stampin' Up! is so proud ( and so am I) that we donate $3.00 for every stamp set we sell! – WOW….what a great cause and what a great Stamp Set!

IMG_3339

The Stamp Set is Tag It, and it is just plain fun and makes me laugh with this little critter! The other bingo-bango thing about this stamp set it that it coordinates with the Chalk Talk Framelits. Don't we all love the framelits!

Tag It

This little "goober critter" makes me laugh and I know my friend Tracy will look at this and say…what the heck…and then she'll laugh! As you all know I love the designer series papers and how do you think I cam up with this color combination?…?…

Remember yesterday…..the Tips for Tuesday, where I focused on Color Coach…well – I wanted to do one more card using the color coach while we have just been focusing on it! Today's color I pulled is Pink Pirouette!

IMG_3345

As you can see on the above picture, it will give you a color combination that works well together! Well…what do you think? I know for sure that I would not have chosen these together and I like it! The Color Coach really is a must as it will save you a lot of time and frustration when your "creative juices" are not flowing!

Crumb Cake is my all time "neutral" favorite and I am so glad that Stampin' Up! came out with the Note Card Size of envelopes….did you realize that ( pg. 162)???? For just $5.50 you can get 40 Crumb Cake Envelopes for just $5.50! BARGAIN!!!!! Click Here to order yours today! I truly love this little size!

IMG_3343

After "listening to and trusting the Color Coach" I pulled out the Designer Series Papers in the Subtles and the Neutrals! Having a little help from the 1" Square Punch made this and easy and quick!

I stamped my little critter in Crumb Cake and then also stamped it in the Pink Pirouette and Pool Party to cut out the balloons! Quick, Simple, Fun and very versatile!

IMG_3340
The envelope goes without saying….a quick liner using the ***NEW Envelope Liner Framelits**** that will be unveiled on Thursday…made this a "quickie" for me today! I will say I am on the fence about this….but all in all – you will simply have to have it!!!

Do you know what tomorrow is….it is the Pals Paper Art Challenge and I am happy to say that I have my card finished and it is an "out of the Susan box"….and I like it! Please, PLEASE try to participate….it is fun, rewarding and it is open to everyone and that means YOU!!!!

I cannot thank you for your support and dedication you have given to me and my blog, I would have never imagined that I could reach so many! I thank you and I appreciate you!

Until tomorrow…..

Happy 21st Birthday Aidan!

IMG_3203

Can you remember when you turned 21?

I was at the beach and I can remember thinking…"I AM 21" – WOW!!! Now when I see one of my children and/or friends children turn 21…I think – "WOW-They are sooooo young"!!!

Today is a special day as it is Aidan's 21st Birthday! Aidan is my daughters boyfriend and today is his special day! Happy Birthday Aidan….with many happy and healthy milestones ahead!

Now I know you have probably seen this card many times….as it has been from blog to blog….but then again – I cannot think of a more fun card than this one for a guy's 21st Birthday!

I was 1st introduced to this card from stampin friends and demonstrators, Carol Barr and Jane Rozes! I knew it was a "keeper" and I would one day use it with my own twist!

I "googled" to find a You Tube Video of how to make it and thanks to Tami White….I found the perfect tips but then twisted it a bit to make it my own! Please check out her video as it is great!

IMG_3208

I did follow her great video but I have been wanting to  S T R E T C H myself in using the Core'dinations Paper….and I felt that this was the perfect time! The fun "cheers" came from the Happy Hour Stamp Set!

I used the Early Espresso Core'dinations paper (from the Neutrals Collection) with the Wood Grain Embossing Folder and then gave it a quick "go-over" with the sanding tool to create a super "man cave" effect for a great masculine …perfect 21st Birthday card!
Neutrals Core'dinations

Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

To the inside….super fun….how appropriate with the birthday theme  and card than to "peel off" a beer label and make it a focal point! Inside I tucked some movie tickets as "$21.00" in honor of his milestone! The sentiment from the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set was the perfect font for this fun card!

IMG_3207
Naturally the envelope needed more attention than just stampin' the "cheers" on
the front….so I carried the "wood" theme to the outer flap! Sanding
that paper just gives the best texture and feel – just a fun extra touch
for a fun card!

IMG_3210

Enjoy this day and think back to when you turned 21…a fun time and one of those "milestones" we all seem to remember! Today's post is just another reason why I love Stampin' Up! so much….getting the inspiration from other talented demonstrators and then being able to make it fit your needs is simply the best!

Let me know how you like this…it is a fun and super easy card to put together!

Until tomorrow….

Morning Meadow Sweet Birthday…

IMG_3108

Sometimes you get inspirations from others…and this would be this post!!!

It came from the the Stampin' Up's Website….but I added my own twist! I hope you like it and I hope that I have inspire you to make it or even better yet, to have a class or cyber order yourself so you can get the Stamp Set as is a "Hostess only" set!

I love the soft yet elegant look and feel of the card! The Stamp Set is Morning Meadow and at a glance you might think…"This is just o.k. – nothing too special…" but I think that this is a great example of what a fast and special card is!

Morning Meadow

Using just a minimal amount of products, this card was a SNAP to pull together! I think the effect that I love the best is the softness of the Pink Pirouette Flowers and then the boldness of the Strawberry Slush Big Flower!

IMG_3110

The crispness of the black image is the "stand out" as well! The image of this stamp is dainty and the swirls of the image makes it a perfect back drop to put in the sentiment! After "flagging" the ends of the sentiment I popped it up to give it a "stage"

Using the Scallop Trim Border Punch on the ends of the Pink Pirouette Paper gave it a soft and feminine feel! I also took a sponge and lightly sponged the white card stock before adhering them together!

IMG_3109
The envelope received a "double whammy" today! 1st, I lined it with the In Color Designer Series Paper and then I also stamped the lower right corner of he envelope with the beautiful flowers!

IMG_3113
Cards can be sweet and fast…this is a great example! This would be a card that I would make multiple of to have a "stash"…just in case!!! Wouldn't it be beautiful in blues and purples…!!!

I hope today's inspiration let's you think….."I want to have a gathering to be able to get this great stamp set"!!! You can….email me here and we will either find a date that works or I can give you a "cyber code" and you can have your gathering via your cyber friends!

Also, with an order yourself of $150.00 or more…would qualify you for your own hostess $$$ which you could choose this super stamp set….

Have a fabulous day and until tomorrow……

“Cycle Celebrations” X 3!!!

IMG_2944
Mission accomplished!
I had 3 friends celebrating their birthdays with the week and I wanted
to challenge myself to make 3 different cards using the Cycle Celebration Stamp
Set
and also the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper!

I often forget about stamp a tone on tone and when I do – I
always like the end result! I did “tweak” this a bit as the base color is So
Saffron and then I stamped the candles in Daffodil Delight! (I thought it need
a bit more zip!)

IMG_2945

The best tip I can share with you is to get that
ruler out and let it do it’s thing!
I measured ¼” up from the bottom and then
the half way point of the So Saffron piece.

Next thing was after making a template with the
Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped my 1st candle smack dap in the middle…then
went to the outer 2 sides and then filled in! Doing it this way always takes
minimal time with a great result!

I did the same with the bicycle, centering the middle…then
using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to do the outers! Works like a charm each and every
time!

IMG_2943

I did feel that the card was “flat” so I stamped my
sentiment and then did my trick whenever I am lazy….simple “free-hand” cut it
out and then mat it – do the same and PRESTO – a cute sentiment, naturally
popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Since I have been ignoring ribbon lately ( and I do not know
why) – I thought the Raspberry Ripple Stitched Ribbon would be perfect…and it
is! Just a nice balance of color and a great finishing touch!

Talk about “finishing touches”…well the Candy Dots in the
bicycle are just too darn cute! I will admit…I bought a BUNCH of the “brads”
that coordinate with the Candy Dots….and I have not used 1!!! They are soooo
easy to pick up and place…why do another step!

You know me…the envelope is coming….now how darn cute is
this liner! Could it be any better…..no way! I simply could not resist and had
to stamp the front of the envelope! It was the perfect finishing touch that me
friend Connie will love when she goes to her mailbox!

IMG_2946

I had to work yesterday and I am sooooo confused on the day
of the week! Thank goodness it is Friday – the weekend is here….and boy do I
have a treat for you on Monday….(fingers crossed)…it is my friends birthday and
I think I will make her smile!

I hope that your holiday was fabulous! When I went to put the horse out last night…I could hear the "popping" of fireworks outside! Here's to the weekend and until tomorrow!

It’s Birthday Week for me!!!

IMG_2904

This
week I should call it “Birthday Week”! I have 3 friends celebrating their
special day. To me, Birthday’s are a great day…I do not worry about my age…I
think that a birthday is a day to celebrate and to simply have fun!

TIP: ( click on the pictures to make them larger so you can see a better view of the beautiful colors on the designer paper etc….I think my photos are a bit "flat"….maybe because it is very vanilla and looks washed out?) This is a super cute card!

With
the new catalog…came lots of new
Designer
Series Paper and this one that is the focus of the card is a “must
have”!
It is called Birthday Basics and I am going to attempt to make
all 3 of my cards this week with this paper and also the same Stamp Set!

IMG_2906

The
Stamp Set is also new this year – it is Cycle Celebration. I used this stamp
set last month focusing on the bicycle and I can see how versatile it is
already!

Cycle Celebration

Here
is the scoop for you…but I think that it is pretty straightforward!

  • Very Vanilla is the base cut into a regular A-2 Card size.
  • Following the colors that coordinate with the Birthday Basics…it was a
breeze – Raspberry Ripple, Bermuda Bay, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit.
  • After stamping the image twice (I cut the 2nd one out and
popped it up to give it a lift!)
  • Using a stampin’ sponge along with the Raspberry Ripple ink, I lightly sponged
    the edges!
  • Where did the dots come from????…the Owl Punch Builder! Doesn’t this make
    it fun and festive!!!
  • The liner was a breeze to match the card!

IMG_2903

This
is a special week filled with Birthday’s…the 4th of July…and I also
get to see my daughter ride in a horse show…it will be a great week!

Here’s
to a great week…filled with laughter and family memories! I thank you for
popping by and remember that you can order right from your home by a simple

Until
tomorrow…
