This is my kind of card! I had so much fun making this and I think it was because of several reasons. I love to color, I love that it stands up, and I love that it is clean and simple!
I shared this with you on Monday and I told you that today I would give you the "scoop" on it! The inspiration came from my friend Jeanie as she used this "easel concept" for her family Chrismas Card last year and had a family photo….it was perfect!

Here you go…please CASE this card – it is soooo darn tootin' easy to do and as you will see in the photos….I covered the back of the colored piece (it is very normal for the blendabilities to bleed through) Make sure that you have several layers of paper that you color on top of so you do not ruin your work service.

- The card base is Sahara Sand in the vertical….4 1/4" X 11' and then I scored it at 2 1/2" and 5 1/2", use the bon folder to get good, crisp edges!
- The Very Vanilla is 4" X 5 1/4" (cut 3 of these)
- Stamp the "Pear Tree" with the Memento Ink on 1 of the very vanilla pieces and have a blast coloring away with the Blendabilities!
- Score the Stamped image 1/4" on all sides with the stamped image facing down (personal preference)
- Adhere the 2nd piece of Very Vanilla to the back of the stamped image and adhere it together – you need to do this so when the card is in the "easel" position you will not see the back side that has bled through.
- Add snail or (I would use sticky strip if you have it) as that would super hold it to the lower section of the very vanilla...YOU ARE JUST PLACING THE ADHESIVE TO THAT LOWER SECTION that will be at the score line of the Sahara Sand. (hopefully this makes sense)
- Adhere the 3rd piece of Very Vanilla to the inside of the card.
- For the sentiment part….the Sahara Sand is 3 1/4" X 1 1/2" and the stamped very vanilla is 3" X 1 1/4" …..adhere this with Stampin Dimensionals to give it a raised effect for the easel to stand!

THAT IS IT!!!! So fun and you will be doing the happy dance! OOPS….I forgot….you can see in the photo that my sentiment was a "bit off" – Silly Susan…..have no fear – I stamped a sentiment on a scrap and matted it….PRESTO – boo-boo gone!
I will pop back on my blog and announce who was the lucky winner for the hostess code….I went to bed super early last night as tonight…..it's MOVIE NIGHT WITH STAMPIN' UP!!!!
That's right….tonight all over the country…. crazy and die hard SUD's are going to the MOVIES to see the preview of the NEW Occasions catalog and the goodies for Sale-a-bration….the best time of the year!
Please email me if you have any questions and also let me know how you like this card! I adore your comments and I love inspiring you to reach your goals!

Good Morning! When I see a "single focal" image like this Ornament…I simply smile! I think that simplicity of this makes it very classic! This was a stamp that I knew would make it to my home the minute I saw it in the Holiday Catalog! It is called Christmas Bauble.
You know that I adore single stamps…why???? Well, here you go….
- They make a statement.
- They are affordable.

This stamp was super fun to color with the Blendabilities…I am by far no expert on using these but I can honestly say that I adore them as they are just FUN!!! These are the 1st Alcohol Based Markers I have ever used and I knew when Stampin' Up! came out with them…they too would make it to my home!

I am sure that you can find endless videos and tips on how to use them and I have tried many different ways…the best way to me is to "just do it" and have fun along the learning curve of using them! The reason that they are so fun is that you can blend, there are "no lines" as to where you have started and stopped and the best thing…
On Monday (and Monday only) they are on a SUPER SALE…

I do not know about you…but when I see a "collection" of a product…like paper, markers etc…if I can, I always prefer to make the purchase to get the whole collection. This way I have the whole "kit & caboodle" and can get the feel and color that I want!

Let's get to the card!
- The card base is an 4 1/2" square from a color that I adore and I think gets forgotten often…Always Artichoke! This color blends so well with many of the neutrals in our color palette and then the Sahara Sand is a 4" square and then score in 1/4" all the way around to create a simple border using the Simply Scored.
- I just went to town and had fun coloring and I know that it probably was not necessary to Fussy cut this ornament out…I think the end result with the stampin' dimensionals turned out great! Remember, when you fussy cut… – use the back edge of your scissors, not the tips…you will get a sharper cut!

- You can tell that I have not put away the Gold Bakers Twine…as I have used this a bunch lately. I "pulled out" the gold thread to just use the natural bakers twine. Glue dots were my friend, again!

- I have had a couple of requests for me to show the "inside" of the cards…This was simple, just like the card and I adore this font. The stamp set is Endless Wishes.

- Making a custom envelope was a cinch with the envelope punch board…I still cannot believe all that it does…so fast…so easy! The outer part of the envelope was using one of my "must haves'…the Designer Series Paper Stack!

That's it my friends…please pop back tomorrow as I am going to highlight the other DOOR BUSTER that is available ONLY on Monday (just like the blendabilities)….it's a keeper in my book and I adore that Stampin' Up! is not only offering it as a bundle…but it is also 30% off!!!
Lovin' having the PEEPS home….today is Gingerbread House time…a tradition!
Until tomorrow!

Please email ASAP with your address as I would LOVE to get them in the mail so you get them before "Turkey Day"

I adored….absolutely adored all of the comments, tips, suggestions and advice and I think that it is pretty clear that "DON'T MESS WITH TRADITION"...here is Lynn's comment! Does this touch your heart or what…how special and WOWZERS – I needed to make a double or triple of brownies!

A huge "WAY TO GO" and I loved your comment…..thanks a bunch for popping on and sharing your Thanksgiving with all of us!
So much to cover….so little time! Monday's are my "Make it Mine" Monday and I have to be true to my schedule (or Sharon ( my die hard MMM) will not know what to do) so here you go! I "surfed" and found this sketch and I must admit….it came together in NO TIME….and I adore it! Here it is!

I need to give this special day of the week the time it deserves as I know that many of you love the Make it Mine and I equally love to see what you do! Please email me your take on this sketch if you would like!

With all of the "ONLINE EXTRAVAGANZA" going on with Stampin' Up! until December 2nd (YIKES – did I say DECEMBER????) darn that calendar I needed to honor the wonderful stampers that look forward to Mondays!

Door Busters. TODAY is a special DOOR BUSTER DAY…..These ONE DAY ONLY DOOR BUSTERS sales are incredible. Drum Roll…..

OK – back to the card….(I told you there was so much going on!
I was pleased with this card and I think that I am showcasing another Stamp Set that is overlooked…..it is called Holiday Invitations but it can be used for sooooo many different ideas! I love the font and I think the "extra" stamps are perfect!

Let's go…..This might be in the "running" for my card to send this year….it is me – clean and crisp….very easy….and uses minimal product but carries a big punch!
I am trying to showcase products that are on the "sale" this week and there are sooooo many embossing folders that are on sale for just a mere $5.00 (REMEMBER for TODAY ONLY)!
Jeanie has always told me that these gems are the BEST bang for your buck and she is totally right!

I used my HANDS DOWN FAVORITE embossing folder, the Large Polka Dot Folder! WHY???? Polka Dots just make me smile and make me feel happy! I adore this color, Mossy Meadow and using just a bit was all that was needed!

Let's talk about the "ornaments" – the circle framelits were the star but was the real SUPER star is the Magnetic Platform and you need to STOP right now and order this gem if you do not have it as it is truly a lifesaver & timesaver….so – THANK YOU Stampin' Up! for having this in the EXTRAVAGANZA!

I love just using 2 colors as I think it makes a big impact! I have not used Very Vanilla lately and I love the way these 2 colors look together! The "ornaments" were from the "In Color" DSP paper stack and it was easy-peasy to add them behind the "ornaments"

Have you wondered where the "natural" baker twine came from…..this is from the Gold Bakers Twine but I "pulled" out the gold and just made a simple bow from the twine! Using glue dots makes it a cinch!

Good Thursday morning to all! Thursday is the day that is the Pals Paper Art to share with you a challenge and for you to take that sketch and put your twist on it! Now…let me tell you….there are many of you that do that Monday personal challenge that I do…so….how about trying this one!?!?!
Here is the sketch and I just had to "play again" with the Santa and Company Designer Series Paper and these "so called Santa's" make me laugh as much as the moose did on Monday? Click here to see that fun card!

I was happy with the end result of this card and I will say..I already know exactly who is getting this card…(I do think these guys need a recipient that appreciates a non-traditional Santa) I do adore the colors that are in the DSP…let's get going!

I am going to share with you some measurements today as this is a great layout for future cards! Please do not be afraid to use DSP….you can see that the "POP" of extra color makes it fun!
- The Base is an A-2 card and the Basic Grey is 5 3/8" X 4 1/8" (please pop out some of the middle of this grey as it will ultimately be covered up with the DSP and Old Olive.)
- The Santa & Co. DSP is 2 3/4" X 4" and the Old Olive is 2 1/4" X 4" and then I used the "snowflakes" and the white craft Ink to make the flakes fall!

- The Stamp Set that I used is Visions of Santa (and this is not my image of a Santa when I was young) but they do make me smile! I heat embossed the sentiment with the white embossing powder and that always created an instant WOW!
- You can also see that the other star of the card is the white gel pen…this pen is my friend, and I think that the "extra touch" it brings is a must have!
Today I did both dashed and dots….the best advice I can give you is….JUST DO IT and to not worry about if they are even or not…it truly does not matter and in the long run – it will look great!
- The below picture is a great shot to see the snowflakes as well as "lifting" the focal sentiment up with the stampin' dimensionals.

- A great tip I give to you today is to make sure that you have the Whisper White Craft Ink in your stash of goodies….why????? This makes a great impact and it is something that you "just need in certain times"...this is a product that is often over looked!

- The mailman is going to "bust out laughing" with the envelope lining…."I bet he will smile" as every-time I see this paper, I smile!
That's it….how about giving it a try?!?!? It is a fun sketch and I think that you have many stamps that will make is shine!
Please pop onto the other Design Artist's to see the inspirations that they came up with – WOWZERS….so much talent out there!
Thanks for popping in and please email me if I can be of help….
Let's all have a great day and until tomorrow! ( It's a FUN birthday treat…..) – please pop back!

Good Monday Morning to all! I adored all of the comments left yesterday about the “hashtags” and the one that made me burst out laugh was from Bridget…I totally agree with her – why is it called a “pound sign”???
And then from Chris…(she is always funny….but this was another great laugh)
This is another reason I truly love blogging…to connect and get to know you, blogging truly is a form of expression and I thank you for bringing joy and smiles to me!

Let’s get to it as Make it Mine Monday is here once again! This is a personal weekly challenge for you to help look at a sketch and have fun doing your own interpretation of it. Please feel free to email me your take…(I have 2 die-hards that have NEVER EVER missed a week)

This stamp set, Visions of Santa and the Designer Series Paper, Santa & Company is a very, very whimsical take on Christmas and I can honestly say that I was on the fence with it and this week I am making (2) cards with it and I really like it!
I admit that it takes a special type of person to find the humor of this set but trust me…I have some fun and colorful friends that will get a kick out of it! I will say that I think the colors are wonderful together….let’s get going!
- The overall card size is a 4 ½” card and it was fun to be able to pull out the envelope punch board to make the perfect fit envelope!
- The Real Red is a 4” square and please make sure that you use some punches to maximize the inside of this square as it will be covered up with the fun DSP which is a 4” square.
- Before I POPPED this whole square up the stampin’ dimensionals I took a piece of real red scraps that was ¾” and then took a piece of white that is ½” and then stamped the fun sentiment and the lights…

- You can see in the below photo that I did not measure exactly what I needed, rather I left it hang over the edge. You can see that I am using the Silicone Craft Sheet, perfect as I had “green glue” along the edge but using this sheet makes it a cinch to “place it” and then after it dries, flip it over and cut the excess off! (A MUST HAVE tool)

- The envelope was fun to make and all it took was a 7 ½” square piece of paper and the liner for the back flap was the paper on the flip side…this is also a fun print!
That’s it! I know without a shadow of doubt that there are going to be some fun…fun cards made with this sketch! I invite you to go to the website that I found this sketch…they have an archive of great sketches and practicing a sketch is super fun and a great way to help you develop a style that is a reflection of your personality!

Hope to see you tomorrow as it is a special day….can’t wait to share it with you! I am still excited with the amount of you that took advantage of ordering those adorable boxes and clearance ribbon for the advent fun!
You still have time to order them and they will be mailed to you….trust me, the most time consuming thing is getting the “goodies” for the boxes…..while they are on order you can get together your goodies….I thought of another great one and they fit perfectly…the super inexpensive one size knit gloves (I use them all the time) and also tea bags!!!!
Have a great day – see you tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Nov 15, 2014 | 3-D Projects, Christmas |

Well…I have been looking everywhere I go for more ideas for our Boxes from Thursday's Post and naturally I found some classics…the Hershey Kiss! I know that I have seen projects for this but I have never tried it!
You know me that I like "Simple things" and this might look like it is hard…but if I can do it YOU can do it. I thought that I took a lot of pictures….but I think I found a "new friend"….a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Brenda Quintana…Please go to her blog and see the talent that she has!
You do not need me at all as Brenda's directions are just FABULOUS and I adore that she takes a TON of pictures…pictures are such a help and I highly encourage you to go get some "kisses" & "nuggets" and have a blast making this adorable tree!

These use a minimal amount of paper and you will feel so good that you accomplished this! It made my day as I thought….WOWZERS – this looks way too complicated!

Another idea the you could do is to punch a hole in a gift card edge and tie that one the tree…a PERECT GIFT! (just make sure you do not cut the magnetic strip on the card)

Below is just a person preference for me! I have made up a bunch of these and these are simply some tips to pass onto you!

I hope that you have enjoyed this post and are inspired to make a bunch as they are super fun and oh, so festive! Just think of "how cute" this would be for someone in a home…they would ADORE having a cute little tree in their room…
I am ALWAYS amazed with the talent out there and a HUGE thanks to Brenda for such an AMAZING tutorial….wowzers, a girl after my own heart! Many , many thanks for your talent and clarity!
Enjoy the day and until tomorrow…..Stampin' hugs to all of you!
