by Susan Itell | Sep 30, 2014 | Fall Cards, Super Easy |

Can you remember the 1st time that you looked through the new catalog when it was unveiled? I always play a game with myself and pick my top 3….totally off of a "gut instinct" and my instinct was that this bundle, Flower Patch was one that I knew had to find its way to my house!
Now that we are into Fall some people might think that flowers should be in the pinks, yellows, lavender etc…but you can make a flower any color that your little heart desires! I think that my card today is a perfect example of just that!

The inspiration for this card came from the Color me Autumn Designer Series Paper and then I chose the colors of my ink! The ink colors I used were Cajun Craze, Cushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke!
NOTE: – When you look at the colors that are to coordinate with the DSP – Always Artichoke is not one of them…this is a personal preference…it's always fun to play with color!

I receive many emails from people that find it hard to use our Designer Series Paper as a focal part to a card so I thought that I would highlight this today to share with you how a busy print can work! Look at how darn simple this card is!

Having the solid strip down the left side, I felt that it needed something….BINGO….fussy cut out the diamonds in the DSP….PRESTO – it worked like a charm!

The above picture is a great view of the layers that I used…stampin' dimensionals and then a glue dot helped layered this beautiful fall flower and then the "cherry on top" was the simple Regal Candy Dot!

The sentiment is from the Good Greeting Stamp Set, the freebie that Stampin' Up! will send your way with a $300.00 order or you can easily have an online event! Love the different fonts!
A quick stamp on a scrap of paper and then "snipping" it and then layering a piece of Cajun Craze…did the trick! When I looked at it – I thought that the white piece was too wide so I did my simple dots!

Pulling out my "Main Stampin' Man"….Mr. Big Shot – a quick run with the Envelope Liner Framelits gave my envelope the love for the day!
Please make sure that you pop back tomorrow for 2 reasons:
- I will be offering the October Stamp of the Month Club…and
- Stampin' Up! has an amazing offering for YOU and ME with Designer Series Paper (hmmm…notice how DSP works….another reason I did this card today!
Thanks for your time today and please share my daily blog with family and friends! I am pleased to offer another Kit for you and from the feedback that I have received from the 1st one…people enjoyed it!
I am an email away and have a fabulous day! Until tomorrow!

When you are in need of a super quick card…this one is for you! Not only is it perfect for this time of the year, it comes together in a snap! The paper, Color me Autumn is just beautiful and it really makes the fall season come to life!
I received a card from my friend and downline, Jeanie in a Spring theme….and I knew that this "layout" would be a "keeper" for a future card! She does amazing work and she totally loves creating and Stampin' Up!
If there was one thing that I wish that Stampin’ Up! had it would be….to have the notecard & envelopes in the Very Vanilla color…but no worries – I cut my own and then used a crumb cake notecard envelope…so it works for me!

Pulling out the Cajun Craze from the DSP, I used the simple leaf from the Fun Fall Framelits, I simply cannot get enough of these! To me, these are great “fillers” to place “here and there” to make a statement!

The sentiment is from the Feels Good Stamp Set and I was so happy that it was carried over with this years catalog, as it is a keeper! Just look at these wonderful sentiments…I have made many cards with this set!

I stamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla in Crushed Curry and then using the Scalloped Tag Topper - a simple press did the magic! I took a piece of Cajun Craze a “smidge” larger and then did a quick “fussy cut” around the scalloped part and then threaded the Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon with a quick “Susan knot” (remember….I am bow challenged)
Popping this whole piece up with Stampin’ Dimensionals did the trick! How quick and easy! This is a card that you could make in “mass quantities” as it is so easy!

Adding this beautiful Fall Paper to the back flap is the perfect finishing touch! I think that I am going to use this paper and layout for my Breast Cancer project next month - changing up the sentiment.
This post is a great example of it being “ok” with a clean look. I would be thrilled to receive a note from someone with this card…how about you?
Make sure that when you are creating cards…look beyond…like pulling out a simple framelit like I did today with the leaves. This not only does “fill the space” but it adds interest….always think out of the box!

That’s it for today…so easy – please whip up a simple cards and let yourself be proud that you did it without having to stress!!!
Please feel free to email me if I can be of help! I have been in my glory this week being able to be at a horse show seeing Hannah's horses….it feels great to be at the barn and being around my "horsey friends"!
Until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Sep 11, 2014 | Fall Cards, PPA Challenges, Thank You |

Is it "Fall" where you live? Earlier this week it was super "fall-ish"….crisp mornings…but the heat and humidity is back today! I adore Fall and I find every excuse to take walks in the brisk air…to sleep with the windows open…to enjoy the beauty of the leaves on the trees!
Today is Thursday which means another Pals Paper Art Challenge and I below you will see the colors that we are working with this week! I hope that you will join the fun and I also hope that you pop over to the Pals Paper Art Website to see all of the inspiration!

I was doing the "happy dance" with this color palette! It screams FALL! You can receive this card for free when you sign up for my September Stamp of the Month Club! Please click here to see the post that spells it all out!

I am super excited with the response I have receive for this! Because I am making you a sample card of each of the 3 designs and I am limiting it to an amount that I can realistic produce. I originally said that the cut off is Monday, September 22nd…but I only have 8 spots left so please email me if you want to take advantage of this kit! (I do not think it will make it to the 22nd)
Let's get to today's card! I was super happy with it and when I send it to you…it is blank…so you can send it to a friend…use it to CASE…..or simply use it for a class. "Thanks" is universal and I am thankful for you popping onto my blog!
If you look at the colors in the Color Me Autumn DSP….it uses Mossy Meadow and todays challlenge calls for Always Artichoke….great example…play with your colors….many of our colors blend perfectly! The DSP is matted on the Always Artichoke…and it works!

Today's card os showcasing the Four Feathers Stamp Set. Feather are very popular right now and I will say…I was not a huge fan but then I thought about it…took the plunge and I am happy I did…WHY? – this is a perfect example of having a "filler"…to me it is like when you arrange flowers, they are times that you need "just a little something" to hide a open spot!
This s what I thought about these feathers. In today's card, I let the variety of height just gently cover the open space. I can also see that just using one feather with a cluster of leaves would be stunning. This does have framelits and you can buy it as a bundle (see below) – this way you will save an instant 15%!!!

A simple stamp of thanks from the Another Thank You set was a cinch as you can see right through for perfect placement! (I wish you could see my set, I feel like it has been through the worse storm as it is normal for your photopolymer stamps to get stained…I have used this sooooo much, trust me it is well stained which means it is well loved!!!)
A simple and classis Gold Basic Button with the linen thread and some easy loos was the perfect finishing touch! I use glue dots to adhere – quick and easy!
Well….I "thank you" for popping in today! Please remember to tell your family and friends about my blog and it you are not currently working with a SUD, I would love to help you out! My online store is a click away and you can shop at home with your jamiies!

Also, if you would like to earn some hostess rewards, I will be happy to get you a hostess code and your friends goodies will be shipped right to their home! There are many way that we can work together vis the beauty of the internet!
If you are interested in the September Stamp of the Month Kit, please email me and put in the subject line STAMP OF THE MONTH so I can save you a spot! I am super excited about this as I am excited for you to be able to make your own clean and simple cards following not only my instructions, but you will have an actual sample of the card….
Remember, if you already own the For All Things stamp set, no worries…just let me know of another stamp set that you do not have and I will mail it to you with your kit. Please feel free to email me and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have!
Have a great day and I hope that you enjoye this clean and simple card. Stampin' hugs to you!
Until tomorrow….

by Susan Itell | Sep 2, 2014 | Fall Cards |

Here’s another Fall card for you to get in the mood…cause’ Fall is right around the corner! It sure doesn’t feel like Fall as it is super hot in Maryland and it is making me miss the beautiful weather we had in Cape Cod!
Yippee-Skippee is a great stamp set that fits so many cards that you can make. This is a sentiment that makes me smile…”You can never have too much happy” and how true – how true!

At this time of the year I like to use Very Vanilla as it is a bit “softer” and I feel like it lends itself to Fall and the colors.
The Honey Comb Embossing layer started to set the tone of the card. The Film Framelits held the sentiment and I suggesting the “green glue” to place the behind the frame! (gives you the wiggle room to get your sentiment straight)

I know that I have been using the Fall Fest a bunch but as I have posted before…I adore the fact that this bundle has these leaves…I have been using fall colors in scraps to “stock pile” a bunch of leaves! The colors I used today are Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Meadow Moss
I really did not have a plan for this card I just let the leaves do their own thing…after all – that is what fall is about leave blowing here and there! Just love it!

Before I popped up the sentiment I did put some adhesive with the snail on the back and then loosely took the linen thread to create some loops. (Don’t stress about how to do the linen thread – just do it and it will work…)
I am lovin’ all of the new DSP and this envelope liner is from the Color Me Autumn and this works perfectly. Once again, the Big Shot and the Envelope Liner Framelit to the resque!

It’s weird that we are already on Tuesday…having the holiday throws me off! Click here to see Stampin Ups! Weekly deals…remember, these are just for one week!

Please feel free to leave me a comment or email me if I can be of help. Oops…I almost forgot….drumroll…drumroll…
The winner for the (2) DSP Packs and the handmade cards from me is…
Sharon Haster with her 2nd order…WOOT-WOOT….please send me an email and let me know which DSPs you want! (on a side note…Sharon is AMAZING and does incredible work – she participates each and evey week with the Monday challenges)

I thank each and everyone that placed an order with me. I love the feedback that I have received about the new catalog and it is a keeper and I love the simplicity…
Enjoy the day! Until Tomorrow…..

Well I told you that once the new catalog came out that I would have some inspiration to the max for you – I also told you that I was making a bunch of square cards and today I have a special one for you (well I think that it is special)
I think that this bundle, the Wonderous Wreath is going to a HUGE HIT…just think about it – you can change the colors out to make it work for all 4 season!

Today I am showing you a “Fall” themed card. Hands down, Fall is my very favorite time of the year and I am hoping that we will have a great Fall filled with crisp and cool evenings…the beautiful colors of the leaves…soft and chewy ginger cookies and hot apple cider….I just love Fall!
Ok – I will hop off memory lane…it’s a great lane but I know that you are wanting to hear about the scoop of today’s card!

- The base is a 4 ½” square card in Very Vanilla and then the accent colors I used were Tangerine Tango and my go-to neutral, soft suede!
- Let’s get back to this great stamp set/bundle. It is a photopolymer which makes it SUPER EASY to stamp as you can see right through the image! The colors I used were Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Soft Suede.

- The wreath was a cinch to pop out with the matching framelits but below in the photos you can see how I also used other framelits (or you could use other circlualr framelits or a punch)
TIP ALERT: I cut through both the Soft Suede and the Tangerine Tango to maximize the effect of a wreath – it was super easy and I think that the end result shows it!
- You can see that the Soft Suede piece, I cut out the center and then I ran it through the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder, (I am sorry, I know I use this a bunch but I simply cannot get enough of it!)

- Lifting up the layered piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals did the trick, those little gems never let us down.
- The sentiment came from the For All Things Stamp Set! I snipped it into a banner with my paper snips…quick – DONE!
- Let’s talk about the super simple yet effective of the “bow” – we all know that I am bow challenged but this worked…”just fine” for me! I used the Baked Brown Sugar Bakers Twine and then also used a piece of the gold bakers twine and I “pulled” out the gold part…BAM – LOVE IT! I used a simple mini glue dot to hold it into place!

- Envelope time…since I needed to make my own envelope, I decided to go different, soft suede and I will use a white pen to address it! HOW FUN! The back flap I used a scrap of embossed very vanilla but look at the front!
- A simple scrap that is 1” wide and with the help of the Stamp-a-ma-jig…let the fun begin!

I know that this stamp set/bundle is going to be a “Out of the Ballpark item” and I am excited to share with you in the future more samples! I hope that this post made you excited for Fall and also the possibilities of this stamp set.
I am sure that you have been having FUN going through this new catalog…so much to take in, I must admit that I still go through it and still see more!

The weekend is here and I hope that you have a great weekend ahead – it is the holiday of Labor Day which means in many areas, the end of the summer season and the beginning of school!
Please remember that for every order I receive until Monday evening at 9 p.m. eastern time, your name will go in the “cyber pot” with random.org to win your choice of (2) Designer Series Paper from the new catalog along with 6 handmade cards from me!
Have a fabulous day and get ready to let the “Fall Season” in your heart…thanks for popping in and please share my blog with your family and friends!
I am an email away….until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Aug 27, 2014 | Fall Cards, Super Easy |

It is “Hump Day"…. Wednesday…drum roll – drum roll – you know what tomorrow is…the unveiling of the NEW Holiday Catalog and for those of you that do not have one in your little paw – 1st, I am sorry….and 2nd if you are not currently working with a Stampin’ Up! Demonstator, I would be more than happy to send you one. Just email me and I will send one your way!
I hope that today’s post brings a smile to your face and also warms your heart. This is a new stamp that is a “single” stamp and you know how I love my single stamps! I ask you to stop and say…I’m Thankful For ____________________ and fill in the blank! I see endless ideas for this stamp!

Let’s get going!
- The base is Very Vanilla making it into a 5 X 5 Card (I have a bunch of square cards for you this week) and then a “smidge” smaller is the Mossy Meadow and lastly the very vanilla again! I just love layering!
TIP ALERT: I know that I use a lot of paper but I feel that there is SOOOO much that you can do with paper that makes making clean and simple cards even easier etc…please remember, make the most out of your paper. For this card I cut out shapes on the Mossy Meadow, as I knew it would be covered up.
- When you look at the stamp you can see that there are many lines. For today’s card I just wanted the sentiment so after I inked it up in Mossy Meadow I simply took a baby wipe and cleaned off the lines, again – super easy!

- The focal fun is from a Bigz Die called Autumn Accents. You can see from the image below the variety of fun and classic shapes that are on this die.

TIP ALERT #2: This goes back to my 1st point – see how simple paper makes such a difference! You can place many different little pieces of scraps over the image you want to create and then simply run it through the big shot! These Bigz Dies are to me a must have as you always have a fall back to if you do not have a stamp set for fall…classic – timeless!
- After I cut my images out I placed them on top of a piece of computer paper and then using the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge I gave it a quick stamp with Soft Suede.

- “Gathering” my fall fun up, I pierced a hole and then placed a Candy Dots Brad Base and the “dot” is from the Regals to hold it together! Taking a small piece of linen thread and wrapping it around the base made it super easy to make a bow!
- Being that I already knew that this card would take extra postage, as it is a square card, I took advantage of adding a special touch of the linen thread around the edges! I love the look and feel it gives – what do you think!?!?

- Now to the envelope…since I needed to use the envelope punchboard I thought why not make the mailman really smile and make a FUN color envelope! The envelope is Hello Honey and then I took a piece of scrap Blackberry Bliss and stamped it with the Gorgeous Grunge and lined the outer part of the envelope!

That’s is and it is a fun, clean and beautiful card! I am sure that you can think of many people to send this card to. I just adore the font and to me, these 3 words are so powerful and meaningful.

Time is running out for the Short & Sweet opportunity and I invite you to go back to my post that I highlighted the specifics about it. Click here to see it.
I have had many emails about it and I can simply give you this advice…Please read these below bullets and then if you are ready to do something for yourself – than click here and get going! I would love to have you on my team!
- You have nothing to lose.
- Hobbiest are the best and there are no expectations.
- Why not take advantage of getting your products at a discount?
- It is YOUR decision to make it what YOU want it to be.
- You have a 1-time opportunity to take advantage of a 30% discount (when I joined, I took FULL advantage of this one as my plan was to sign up…use the 30% discount and be done!!!)
- You would have until January 31, 2005 to make the decision to place another order or not…think about this…that is sooooo far away; you can see that this is a no brainer…
- Being a part of a positive and just simply fun group of individuals is the icing one the cake for me! I am not a facebook gal but Mary Fish has created several private facebook groups that are for us to learn, explore and share our paper crafting skills with. We are a very close and active group and the funniest thing is I have never met them in person but a relationship has developed. I love being a PAL!

Please email me and I would love to talk to you if you wish! There is really nothing more to say than to do it for YOU! I know personally that I have never regretted it one bit, in fact it has enriched my life so much that I can easily say…
I’m Thankful For Stampin’ Up!
Through Stampin’ Up! I have been able to grow, learn and express myself to help not only develop an inner confidence but to also know I make a difference – if it is through my blog…through my monthly service that I do for Breast Cancer but most importantly I am doing it for me…and that makes me happy!
Until tomorrow!
