Today is a color challenge with the Pals Paper Art gang and I hope you come "out to play" – it is a color challenge and I must admit….I was a bit stumped as I do not do a bunch with pastel colors but I was determined NOT to use a flower!
Please feel free to email me is you have any questions but I do encourage you to go to the Pals Paper Art Site and not only see what the other design team artist came up with….but to give it a try yourself!

Today's card is from the Perfect Blend Stamp set…and not only is this a fun set…it is a very affordable set too! The kraft paper worked perfectly with the coffee cups! (please feel free to use Crumb Cake or Baked Brown Sugar if you do not have the Kraft Paper)
I stamped the Image twice, on the Kraft Paper I used Soft Suede and then I stamped it again in Crisp Cantaloupe on Very Vanilla and snipped out just the sentiment!

True I did some "fussy cutting" but it was a cinch as the lines are very "forgiving" so you can just go to town! The one thing that I did differently was I popped up the cup to the left with one layer of dimensionals and then the one to the right I "doubled it up" – I love the look!
I always find that the Linen Thread always gives such great texture and fun….with the help of a glue dot – you can not go wrong!

You all know how I feel about the DSP in the stacks – in my opinion, a must have for every color collection as I think it takes the guess work when you are trying to do a fast, clean and simple card!
I did make a Pistachio Pudding Envelope with the envelope Punch Board but "Silly Susan" – I forgot to snap a picture! It truly makes a great card!
I had something "personal" to share with you but I must say….I ran out of steam…I am shocked that Physical Therapy can be so draining…..I feel silly saying that but I am pooped – you'll just have to pop back tomorrow!

Stampin' Up! has something special going on tomorrow as well – they gave us a teaser saying to pop back on the 3rd….so I'll be there and I cannot wait to share it with you!
Let's all have a GREAT day….see you tomorrow…It is "ROUND #2" for SPRING CLEANING tips and tricks – last week was fun, I thought of more things to share!

The end of the year is sooo close that I want to share with you a card that I will be wishing family and friends all the best for the New Year of 2014!!!
Every year I challenge myself to see if I can “get it right” and write the “correct” year…and that lasts about a week at the best! How about you??? Can you get it right at the beginning of the year?
I have absolutely no complaints about how 2013 treated myself as well as my family! We certainly are blessed in so many ways! John and his injury was a BIG eye-opener to all of us and we are soooo incredibly thankful that he is doing great….he taught us all sooooo much as to what patience and a positive attitude can do!
As far as my Stampin’ Up! business…WOW – I have been able to do something that I never thought I could do….have a daily blog and I am just coming up to my 1 year of doing this…and I THANK YOU for your dedication, inspiration and endless comments and emails – having cyber friends, customers and now demonstrators from all over is a blessing in itself!
There are many things that by now you know that I love when it comes to my style of card making and an “odd size” of a card is one…and this card it just that….the size is 3” X 6” and with having the Envelope Punch Board….no worries on how to find an envelope that fits!
The focal centerpiece to this card comes from the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die…and I know what you are thinking…this is one expensive die….and yep! It is…but I will say it is one piece that is a great “foundation” to make some very special cards!

For example today’s card is pretty darn special but it is super to have this die for making “initials” or “monograms” on cards…this is one addition to your die collection that I would use a 50% off hostess credit on!

Let’s get to it!
- The base is Very Vanilla cut at a 6” square and then scored at 3”! The stampin’ trimmer is one of the best “must have’s” in my opinion!
- The black piece is 2 ½” X 5” and then using the Scallop Trim Border Punch a simple punch gives an instant dimension to the card!

- You all know that I love to use lots of paper and I also like to save paper…so the Gumball Green is just a piece ½” x 5” and then I used the 2 way glue pen to adhere it!

- The champagne glasses came form the Embellished Events Stamp Set and this set has a bit of everything for anyone! Whenever I stamp with Black, I always us the Black Staz On Ink…to me – it gives the best coverage each and every time!

- I know…some of you simple do not like “fussy cutting” but these are not bad at all to cut out! What makes is a breeze is using the paper snips and REMEMBER….move the paper…not your hands and also make sure that you are cutting from the BACK of your scissors not the tips!
- Adhering this together was simple with the 2 way glue pen…this pen is something that I use often and also something that I use on envelopes! With the liners!

- A bunch of Stampin Dimensions to the rescue was the perfect lift for the card! What would we do without these gems! For a long and narrow card like this that I really want it to be lifted all the way around – I love to use the “edge” pieces…we do not waste a thing!
- The envelope was made from a 7 ½” square piece of very vanilla and then following the instructions on the Envelope Punch Board…I scored it at 2 5/8”. One thing that I found when you make a long and narrow envelope like this is that the “pointy” parts need to be trimmed off! You can see this from how I lined the outside of the envelope! I figured that it would be easier to do this and I like the “change up”. I simple used a piece of Designer Series Paper from the coordinating In Color Paper Pack and presto…a great finishing touch!

- This is a special time of the year…. a time to “celebrate” so I needed to stamp on the outside of the envelope! The “Cheers” came from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set and I just used the Gumball Green Marker to get the “Cheers” part! Perfect….DONE!

“Cheers” to all of YOU! I hope that this card inspires you to go to your craft space and make a New Years Card! You can easily use a New Year’s Card to write thank–you notes from the holiday season …to write a message to someone wishing the the best year ahead…it’s a great way to move forward with new hopes and inspirations for the New Year!
Let’s get back to the earning a 50% off item…I might live in Maryland and you might live in Alaska but you can still have an event with me! Please shoot me an email and I will be happy to send you a hostess code and you can have a cyber party! It is a great way to get products at a discount and also get FREE hostess rewards!
Enjoy the day and I hope that you are thinking about the year that is about to come to an end…and do some goal setting and dreaming for the year ahead!
Until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Aug 25, 2013 | Halloween, Happy New Year, Super Easy, Sympathy |

There is no doubt that you are smiling because this super sweet Halloween Stamp is just too darn cute! The minute I saw it in the new catalog…it was a "done deal" It is just one sweet stamp and the price is "sweet" as well!
The stamp is only available in wood mount and it it appropriately called, Halloween Happiness! I usually buy clear stamps when available as I prefer the small storage space it takes but I have a question for you?
Do you think there is a difference in the quality in the "stamp image" between a wood mount and a clear mount? Let gets some comments going about your thoughts!

I know that I have heard that some people think that the wood mount create a crisper stamp image but I think once you get comfortable with the clear mounting blocks…they work great! Storage to me is key…but there are some stamps (not many) that Stampin' Up! just sells in the wood mount…this is one of them!
TIP ALERT: speaking of the clear mounting blocks…KEEP THEM CLEAN! I wash mine (not as often as I should) in dawn detergent and once they are squeaky clean – they stick GREAT! Whenever I find that I am not getting a good grip, it is because they need cleaned!
This cute card will be a Breast Cancer Card in October…I think it is a sweet …quick… pick-me-up kinda card that will be well received! Another great thing about this card is…it is very affordable to make!
The envelopes are the Crumb Cake Note Card size and you get 40 of them for just $5.50….working out to about 14 cents per envelope and the card base would be about 15 cents…and then the other colors I used were Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive!

A CAS (clean & simple) card like this is a GREAT way to use up scraps! If you were just making 1 or 2 of this card, I would venture to say that you would not have to cut a sheet of paper and if you were making a bunch of them…wow – you would get many from one sheet of each of these colors! Super cute and fun!
I used my markers to color the image but being the"type A" stamper that I am….I did not get a good crisp orange ( guess I did not huff enough) so I thought…what the heck - just stamp them up "good and hard" with the pumpkin pie and then cut them out….if the lower image is not super strong…no biggie! Stampin' Dimensionals to the rescue and BAM!
I thought that the outside of the envelope needed some TLC today! Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper was the perfect match….those dots just do something to you!!! Love…LOVE…LOVE!!!!

Going back to my Scrapbooking Days…."dots…dots…and more dots"!!! This drives my kids NUTS but I just love how adding 3 little dots does something special! I tell them that I think it makes me feel like an artist!!!

Three things I cannot do….art -sing & sew! I have never mastered them and I do not seeing it happen in the near future!
A BIG shout out of thanks for all of the sweet comments about the look of my blog….my blog looks this way cause' Patsy Waggoner was my "knight in shining armor"!
As I have grown in age…I find it very comfortable to ask for help when I know I get frustrated….this is what I did…and I love the result!

Halloween will be here before you know it so every week, I am going to be slipping in a Halloween goodie to inspire you not to wait til the last minute! With having lots of college ages friends to send care packages to…I am going to also share with you some 3-D treats that I will be mailing!
Have a super-duper Sunday and get ready for some goodies this week! With me not stressing about my banner on the blog…I feel the creative juices ready to rumble!
As always, thanks for popping by my blog and please share my blog with your family and friends so they can have a daily dose of inspiration! Stampin' is fun…Stampin' is something that we all can do and I love to help you reach your goals!
Until tomorrow!
