Happy Birthday John!

IMG_2191

Today is a special day…it is my husband's Birthday and after working a long Tax Season he is doing something for himself and also something that he is passionate about! He is going to a Boy Scout Fundraiser that they are doing skeet shooting!

John dedicates a lot to our local Boy Scout office and I know that this is going to be a great day for him! The other passion that he has is golfing, and something that he put on the back burner while raising our children but now he is ready to get back into it!

Today's card idea was one that I CASED from local Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Jane Rozes! I just loved it and I knew that I was going to use her great card to base John's Birthday Card from…just loved it!

IMG_2194

The only Stamp Set used was the Sassy Salutations, one on my "A" list and one that I always feels gives you a fun look! I did use the handy-dandy – Stamp-a-ma-Jig to get my placement of the sentiments just perfect… The red I used was the Riding Hood Red! There literally would have been no way for me to get that in the PERFECT spot that I wanted if I had not used this great tool!

The "green" was punched from the Extra Large Oval Punch using the Regals Designer Paper…then I just used a simple hole punch to make "the cup"! The "ball" was super easy and cute as I first ran a scrap piece of Whisper White Card Stock thru the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots Folder…then using the 1/2 " circle punch I POPPED it out! How simple is that!

IMG_2195

Using the white to be the background classic look, I accented it with some of the classics…Night of Navy and Crumb Cake. Using the Stampin' Vitamins that I love so much, Stampin' Deminsionals, lifted this super cute card up – (even the golf ball)!!!

There is nobody as special than my wonderful husband in having April 20th be a special day! He is the BEST man in the world and as I say….the BEST blind date I ever was one (well, the only blind date I was on!)

I was sooooo incredible proud of him when he told me that he ordered a new set of golf clubs!!! WOOT-WOOT I thought, I was so glad that he is wanting to take time "for him"…not only is he so deserving of it – it will bring him joy to be outdoors and leave the office behind!

John,  hope your day is as special as you are! you are a wonderful and loving husband, the best Dad in the world and truly my very best friend! Many more happy and healthy returns!

I hope you enjoyed today's card and I hope that this is a great weekend for all!

  • DONE!!!

IMG_2129

This post is very similar to yesterday post in the fact that if you simply change the stamp and paper…a new card that looks TOTALLY different! Seriously, this card comes together in a super 1 -2–3!

TIP: I know that I have said this before in other postings…but this flower stamp is the perfect example of using the sanding blocks! Why??? = to get the bet ink coverage from your stamp! Can you see in the above picture ( click on it if you want it bigger) that the daffodil delight ink is so clean and crisp!

Just do a quick rub back and forth and it works like a champ! Little tips like this will always make you look like a pro and for $3.50…so worth it! Click here to shop away!

A Masculine “By the Tide” Card…

IMG_2117

Sometimes it is hard to find a great Birthday card that is masculine! Well I think I have accomplished that! I just love the International Bazaar Designer Paper and I must admit I do not use it as much as I should as it is so handsome!

By the Tide Stamp Set, is such a versatile set….it is classic, it is handsome, it just simply makes you feel like going to the beach! I am not one that usually like to put a "faint" sentiment as the background, but I think it works here! I used a very soft color, Sahara Sand and then stamped my "Happy Birthday" message in Early Espresso! This sentiment came from the Teeny Tiny Wishes  -  a definite "A Stamp" set!

IMG_2121

The basic concept of this card can be used in sooo many ways with sooo many different themes! Just let your imagination go and fit the needs to the card that you are trying to make! Switch out a stamp…switch out a color scheme….voila – a new and fun card!

Don't forget to use the stamp-a-ma-jig to help you with the placement – it is a HUGE lifesaver!

IMG_2120

I first received this card from my Stampin' friend, Susie Latimer, as an anniversary card! It had a total different scheme to it but I have always kept it as I love the design! This is a great example of taking the time to save something you really like as you can always go back to it and make some minor changes and BAM!

IMG_2122

Doesn't the crispness of the Pacific Point Blue make you feel alive! It is just a "feel good" color that always brightens up your projects! A card would not be a "Susan" card with out the Stampin' Dimensionals as well as a lined envelope! SO easy….SO WOW – and the best thing is that it fold very flat….no extra postage!

IMG_2123

I know that it is Friday but it has been a L O N G week for me and I have been working many hours to be able to take today off – SOOOO excited to see my youngest child! Probably by the time you are seeing this I am on the road with my truck and trailer to get to Charlotte, NC!  She is a freshman in college and I can hardly wait to see her and give her a big hug! It is hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end….

I hope that you are ready for a great weekend! I sure am going to….I am bummed that I have to miss the Baltimore Regional Convention but I have a special surprise that I am super excited about! Make sure you check back to see what it is! I thank you for taking your time to view my blog….As always, I am an email away and I thank you for your comments and taking your time to daily check out my blog!

HUGE stampin' hugs….until tomorrow…

Change might be frustrating but change is good!

I know we hate change…but there are times that change is just inevitable! I love this card – it stands up to everything I do and believe in – clean, simple and soooo easy!

IMG_2095
I know by now you have received a ca-zillion emails about the FREE SHIPPING ( and yes, it ends today so what the heck are you waiting for)

Stampin Up color refresh retiring colors-001

This card is featuring some of the colors that are being retired….I thought it would be fun to showcase some of them this week….don't be sad…change happens and it doesn't mean that you cannot use them….it is just that Stampin' Up! has a vision that we need to trust and embrace!

This card is such a "Susan" card….simple! The stamps I used were Easy Events ( on my "A" list) and the sentiment is from Delightful Dozen…If you have the Easy Events you might be saying….that is not the sentiment under the tree! Well, YOU'RE RIGHT! I masked it…inked it up with Black Staz On and then peeled it off to get the tree perfectly as I wanted it!

IMG_2094
Next – Out came the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig ( another "A" list)…and I used the sentiment from the Delightful Dozen to get it right where I wanted it and ….BINGO-BANGO…..mission accomplished!

Using the Aqua Painters ( making me feel like an artist) I used some of the colors that are going " bye-bye"…Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red and Not Quite Navy… trunk is not leaving – Soft Suede! This simple water coloring is so simple!

Out came "Mr. Big Shot"… – he had a quick affair with the Window Frame Framelits to cut the perfect shape and then I used the next larger size to frame it!

Next came the Stampin' Piercing Mat and tool to make the WOW happen using the "every other" The Paper -Piercing Tool creates a clean and simple effect! Wow – RIGHT!!!! Do you see..Wow can be simple! I then used a sponge with the Certain Celery to give the edges a finishing touch!

I did use the WaterColor Paper, and I must admit – I do use it everytime I use the Aqua Painter as I want it to always be perfect – why would you do all of this to have one thing not work out? It always turns out perfect! The painted imagie always lays flat!

IMG_2093 Now a card would not be a card without a liner….RIGHT! The handsome and classic Stripe came from the Regals Designer Paper Series!

As always, I am an email away and I love your comments! Please take advantage of this free shipping….great time to get the basics as we all know the new catalog will be around the corner! I love what I do and I love helping and inspiring you!

Until tomorrow…..

“Best of Flowers” for the “Best of the best”

IMG_2048

By now you know me…this is my kind of card BUT…I am the first to admit…it looks much better in person than it does on the computer! I know that tonight when we put this card together for the Breast Cancer Angel Card program I am helping with…the recipients will surely have a smile! I received the inspiration from my wonderful upline, Mary Fish, when she showcased this stamp set last month!

Yellow makes me smile – how about you!?!? It is always a "pick-me-up" that always perks me up! The focal point to this card is the Best of Flower Stamp Set…in honor if Stampin' Ups! 25th anniversary! Another reason it pops is because of the strong color (This is Poppy Parade  – a discontinued card stock from last year…but I do love it and have a pack around!)

The stamp set of Sassy Salutations  is just fun and fresh and the sentiments always hits the spot! "Thinking of you" means so many different things to many…..I just love the whimsical way it looks!

IMG_2050

This fun and festive paper came from the Sunshine & Sprinkle Designer Series from our SUPER Spring Catalog! Just love the depth it gives! After Stampin' the flower with Soft Suede I added a dab of Dazzing Details to the centers of the flowers…let them dry before I popped them out with the 1 1/4 " Scalloped punch.

IMG_2051

Naturally I had to use my Stampin' Vitamins, Stampin' Dimensionals….just love these little gems as it gives the extra special POP factor! The "sentiment piece" needed to be framed and then matted to continue to give it depth!

IMG_2052

The 2 finales of this card was to add the little piece of Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon ( in a knot of course) and then doing something "out of the box for me" – lining my envelope with the SOLID color paper and then using the STAMP as my focal point! FUN…..right!

The end result was a super cute & fun card that will surely make someones day! I appreciate you popping by….I appreciate your emails……I appreciate your comments….and as always….until tomorrow!!!!

Have a super-duper day 'cause I am going to as I know that the satisfaction we will do tonight in making many cards will bring joy and a smile to many people dealing with Breast Cancer.

We all have a gift to give…we are all blessed in our own ways….take a moment to find you inner gift and "pay it forward" ….Stampin' hugs to all!

“Lacy & Lovely” will be lovely for my project!

IMG_2041

How is this for another clean and uplifting card for my
Breast Cancer Project! Please check out my Simple Stampin' Facebook page for more details! A simple “Hello” can go a long way to someone that is
having a L O N G day! Doesn’t everyone like to get an uplifting “Hello” from
someone! This card also makes me feel like Spring as I love the colors and the
freshness it brings!

IMG_2044

The focal sentiment of “Hello” came from the Lacy& Lovely
Stamp Set
and you are probably wondering where in the world did those cute
flowers come from? They are from the Pennant Parade Stamp Set…confession time –
I made a boo-boo on my card and before I started all over I went searching for
a small stamp and punch that would cover my mistake but also give a little
pizzazz to the card! I love the end result!

I would have never in a million years purchased this Owl
Builder Punch
, but let me tell you…I am amazed at how many super cool things
you can do with it! I am making some super-cute graduation cards from this
punch! This tiny little heart was the touch that I needed! TIP – put some snail
on the paper and then punch the small heart onto your fingertip – this way it
is not a huge pain getting adhesive on!

IMG_2043

To me the “touch and feel of this card” is made by pulling
out my main man, Mr. Big Shot, and using the Textured Impressions Embossing
Folder
( sooooo much easier to say the “honey-comb” folder to make the bottom
of this card have a little depth and interest! The beautiful prints of paper
came from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper, ( an “A” list item in my opinion)…striking and
classic patterns and this pack is so affordable – really makes a wow statement!
Fingers crossed that Stampin’ Up! Will come out with a hexagon punch!!!

IMG_2045

I would suggest that you stamp your sentiment before you run
it through the big shot and also – use the Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect
placement! Always comes out perfect!!!! ANOTHER TIP  – I like to put sticky tape on the back of my card before I
put it through the big shot…I find it hard to put adhesive on this honey comb
texture…and this way…just peel off and a super firm stick! Maybe it is just me…but I think it is too hard to get a "good stick" if you do not put the adhesive on BEFORE you run it through the big shot!

Did anyone play and Aprils Fool joke on you today? My Dad always likes to play branks on April Fools Day – always one of his favorite things to do each year! I hope you enjoy today's post and I hope you email me if I can help you or if you want to learn more information about the Breast Cancer Project I am helping with…I would love to let you know how you can make a difference to someone! Until tomorrow…huge stampin' hugs!
