Well HELLO sunshine!

IMG_6261

I love that phrase and I am sure that we all know of someone that just brings "sunshine" into our lives. This little sweet card will be waiting on Branigan's desk when she gets to work tomorrow!

Branigan is working for John during tax season and is from Florida and just cannot get used to this cold weather! She is a wonderful young gal that also house/critter sits for us and she will text me saying…."I do not get it – is this normal?….if so why do people live here?

Her fiancée works at Camp David (yes, we do live near there) and they are only here for 2 years and this weather has been getting to her so I thought a cheery card and some homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies might do the trick!

IMG_6248

I sure have been doing lots of simple cards and this is one that takes minutes. It is from the stamp set. Crazy about You and I think that we all know that this is an amazing stamp set as there are endless sentiments!

Having the Flower Medallion Punch makes this a snap to punch but I thought I needed to add a bit more so I stamped it several times in both Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo and did a quick fussy cut! (It really is not that bad at all to cut out)

Here is the quick scoop….the card is a note-card size and the next layer is 1/4 smaller – 4 3/4" X 3 1/4". I stamped of to the side the light pick flower and then also did another one up top! ( I think doing it this way allows your eye to go all over) and the let the "focal" flower be center stage!

IMG_6257

The envelope received its love with the stamping on the front as well as this super fun and bright DSP from the Sweet Taffy Collection! LOVE the bright and bold colors!

Did you notice that I had 3 different shades of pink and they all blend together great! The inks, pink pirouette and melon mambo but then I used a wee bit of strawberry slush twine on the button. Please do not be afraid to mix colors, in the end they all blend together great!

IMG_6253

I think that this Crazy about You set is an amazing one. Today is the 1st day that I have used it without the fun thinlit dies (this is on page 31 in the Occasions Catalog) and if you click here you will see a post that I did not only using this great bundle but also giving you a great opportunity to get this card!

If you purchase this bundle from me, I will not only send you this super cute card so you can see the "low down" on how to make it….(I started making them yesterday and they will be sent out later this week along with February Note.)

IMG_6255

The best thing is….this bundle will get you very close to earning a FREEBIE from sale-a-bration if you get it in the Photopolymer but for you die hards that love the clear mount…this comes in that as well as wood! WOWZERS – 3 different ways – Stampin' Up! is the best.

I realize that some of you might want to wait to order on March 1st because of the new fabulous 4 offerings of Sale-a-bration….and no worries – I will still honor my offer to you!

Think SUNSHINE as Spring has just have to be around the corner. I know my little Florida friend will be smiling when she sees this bit of sunshine!

Stampin' hugs….until tomorrow!

A quick and easy challenge!

IMG_6233

Good Monday! How about playing a challenge today with the most important person in the world…YOU! If you follow my blog you know that on Monday's I like to so something fun.

Today's card is as simple as it gets and here are the rules to play.

IMG_6240

  • Use a punched image on a card at least 2x's or more (if your punch matches a stamped image, that is great….like I could have used the Six Sided Sampler Set but instead I just chose to make it super simple and just use the Flashback DSP.)
  • You need to have a single sentiment on the front of the card.
  • The most important part…..have fun!

If you wish, please email me your take on this fun challenge and I will randomly pick one person to win this simple card and I will slide in some stampin' dimensionals for you. ( I could never pick a "winner" as you all are winners in my eyes!)

Why do I do these fun challenges…I think that they are a great way for you to continue to find a style that makes you feel comfortable with "your style" of card making.

IMG_6244

This was a very simple card (as you can see) but it still sends the message in a very crisp and classic way! When I make a card, I try to look at it an imagine how I would feel if I received it. I will say that I love this DSP, Flashback because it coordinates with Very Vanilla. Most of our DSP works with Whisper White.

133699G

We all know that our punches are just fabulous, please do not forget that today is the last day for you take advantage of the weekly deals and there are many punches this week! Today I used the hexagon and it was a snap!

Please do not be afraid NOT to take a bunch of time in making a card…if it works for you and less is best – I am sure that it will be a beauty! I literally whipped this card up in minutes!

  IMG_6241

The longest part of making this card was using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the sentiment straight and to stamp the envelope 3 x's!

Please give it a try – it s between you and I and I will email the winner on Tuesday morning (just in case you read this later tonight)

The February Stamp of the Month Club went out this morning with John to work and the kits looked super -duper! Please make sure that you keep popping back to see March's offerings – it will be later this week.

Enjoy the day – let's have another great week and until tomorrow!

Step it up Sunday!

IMG_6217

Well…it happened…it snowed…it was pretty…and today it is to be 45 degrees….CRAZY – We had snow, sleet, rain…now it is to be warm today and then Tuesday 2 degrees…..CRAZY I say!

Today's card is a simple "stepped up" version of yesterday's card….please click here to see yesterday's post. I think that they both stay true to my style of being clean and simple – today's just has a bit more "bells and whistles"…

One thing that is great about being a PAL is that we have a gallery of inspiration at our finger tips and I saw a card that had (2) pieces of paper turned to the side like this from PAL Wendy….it was stunning so I wanted to give it a spin!

I still stayed with the note card size and basically the same coloring tools etc…but I "tipped" the ends of the tulips with a bit of "blush" blendabilities markers and then blended in with the daffodil delight.

IMG_6213

One thing I have learned about these markers is simple – THERE ARE NO RULES….I truly have no idea what I am doing but I am having fun and that's the name of the game. They just are so darn fun to work with as there are no lines! It is the best learning "playtime" one could have!

The other change I did was us a smaller piece of Whisper White to stamp the image on (2 1/4" X 4 1/4") and then the mats of the Lullaby DSP and Wild Wasabii was a "smidge" larger (2 1/2" X 4 1/4")

IMG_6222

Did you notice a new focal point to the flowers? I stamped the stamp (well I just inked up a bit to save the DSP) and then I did a quick fussy cut and then wrapped some linen thread around it and POPPED it up!

Something that I have not done for months…paper piercing…having to dust it off the shelf – I did a quick paper piercing…how could I forget something so simple yet so effective and fun.

IMG_6224

The envelope love came from a partial stamp of the tulip image and a quick color. REMEMBER -place a piece of scrap paper in the envelope before you use your blendabilities so it will not bleed through.

The other thing I did with the back flap of the envelope was to "2 tone" the flap by starting with a 1/4" strip of Wild Wasabi and then added the DSP….snipped around the outside of the envelope and DONE!

IMG_6218

I hope that these 2 posts inspired you and also showed you that they both are just fine…there are simply times that we do not have a bunch of time and that is just fine…but then there are times that you just want to add a "bit more" –

Let me know how you are liking the 2-dy posta! If you have more specific questions, please feel free to email me.

IMG_6228

Please share my blog with your family and friends…if you have not subscribed to get a daily dose of inspiration and fun, please fill out your email address right underneath the Sale-a-bration Catalog.

I love my Stampin' Up! fun and I realize that there are lots of great choices out there, please know I appreciate your support and it is a joy to see you reach your goals….you can do it!

If your weather is like mine….it's jammies day – why not stay at home and shop from home!?!? There is nothing like a great creative session…

“Show & Tell” Saturday!

IMG_6201

It's weekend time…and it' another crazy winter weather time for us today….snow, ice…yuck and tomorrow it is to be in the 40's – crazy weather!

Last Saturday I had so much fun sharing a simple and clean card to you and then on Sunday I "Stepped it up a bit" so I thought I would do that again.

Card-making is all about finding a style that works for you and then simply going with it! You know that I am a clean, simple and I feel practical stamper but even when I "step it up" – I am still keeping to the "style" that works for me!

IMG_6202

Today I am focusing on another great single stamp, Love is Kindness. Tulips are my "hands down" favorite flowers and  I was so happy that Stampin' Up! offered this stamp!

137131G

You can see that there is a sentiment. I honestly did not think that I would use that sentiment a bunch so instead of having to "mask" it off each time, I decided to "cut" it off before I mounted it to the wood block. (I still have the sentiment and can always use it if I would like…just a simple surgery in the stamp room)

IMG_6207

The sentiment I chose today is from a hostess stamp set that I just adore and I will say that I have used this hostess stamp more than any other one that Stampin' Up! has offered, Time to Celebrate. (love this sentiment and font.

The blendabilities were my friends, (again)…and this made it another quick and easy card. Tomorrow I hope that you op back as I am going to step it up a bit and you can see which one you like better!

Choices are great, choices are fun, choices keep things interesting.

IMG_6209

Even though this was a super simple card…it is a card that I would be proud to send and I would be happy to receive! Less is best and this little note card carries a big punch filled with beauty!

IMG_6206

This also would make a quick an sweet Easter Card and simply put an Easter sentiment on the card! Isn't creating fun…it truly allows your personality to shine!

Thanks for sharing a bit of your Saturday with me! Below you will see the products that I used for this fun card and I hope that you will pop back tomorrow to see the stepped up one!

Enjoy the day…..

Got 5 MINUTES?

IMG_6182

I sure bet that title "got" your attention…well that is what this card took – 5 minutes! I had a very busy day yesterday working on the Stamp of the Month kits and I thought…what am I going to show to you all today?

My inspiration came from a phone call from "peep" Hannah as she was doing her "Hi Mom" – how are you doing….and just hearing her voice and hearing about her classes at school I thought, she is a great young lady and I want to send her a card!

The other inspiration came from when I popped onto the Freshly Made Sketches Website and saw the below sketch – the lightbulb came on and BINGO….here you go!

FMS Final 174-001

Less is best….Black & White is clean and classic….and this stamp set is one you just simply need to have – so much that you need to click it and order it now! I adore it – I think that Stampin' Up! nailed it! The sentiments are fabulous, the font is fun – this is just one great stamp set and the name is great, Lovely Amazing You.

140594G

There is really not much to say but I would definitely CASE this card…this is a "Susan style card" and one that makes me happy!

IMG_6190

  • A-2 Whisper white with a 1/4 smaller piece
  • The DSP of Back To Black Designer Series Paper made the classic pop!
  • Taking the 2" circle punch, I simply popped a circle out and then place it over top of the base and drew a faint pencil line to use as a guide for perfect placement.

IMG_6179

  • My "go to" black ink it the Memento as it is a breeze to clean up and it always provides such a clean and crisp image…a simple stamp and then erase the pencil lines!
  • I popped a heart form the Owl Builder punch in Strawberry Slush and green glued it….a simple yet effective touch! (it was not until I was putting my stamp back in the case did I see a single heart stamp in this set….Silly Susan!)

IMG_6184

IMG_6187

  • The envelope was a breeze as well…. simple stamp….a simple piece of DSP on the back flap and trim away the excess….and DONE!

This is a great card layout and you know what….you could do this with any of the above sentiments. I adore this stamp set and I hope that you will add it to your stash as I know you would use it a bunch!

IMG_6188

Do you know what also would make my heart happy?

For you to become a hobby demonstrator and have stampin' fun and be able to support your habit and get your "habit" at a discount everyday. It really just that easy!

I still can remember that I thought I would just get the kit….be able to place a huge order to get to the one time 30% off discount and then I would BE DONE…well that did not happen

I can say it probably did not happen because of the relationships that developed from the strong and supportive PALS team that Mary Fish has done such an amazing job in creating. We are a fun and inspiring group of people that love what we do, love to learn and love to have fun.

It would be a honor for you to join my team and be a PAL so….how about clicking here and get started. Please feel to email me if you have any questions….its so easy – please take a test drive and I know that your heart will be happy!

Brrrrrrrr – record cold in the East – stay warm and until tomorrow!

p.s. – my Dad LOVED his card…..he said he keeps shaking it up and down and laughs at it!

How about a challenge?

IMG_6065

I know that many of you miss the Monday Make it Mine challenges so I thought..let's do something fun today if you are up to it! It is totally up to you if you want to play and if you choose to share it with me…great but no pressure, I always adore seeing your work.

Today the challenge is to make a 1 layer card  using only 1 stamp set!…wow – this is tougher than it seems but I was pleased with the end result! I have a friend that is starting chemotherapy and I thought that this simple card would bring a smile to her face.

Trust me….I was sooooo darn tempted to add a little flower punch here and there with a pearl but I stayed strong! It just does not get any simpler than this!

IMG_6062
I have been feeling like the stamp sets in the annual catalog have been "back burner-ed" a bit with the the new Occasions Catalog, so I decided to showcase something from the big catalog. The stamp set is called Perfect Pennants.

133230G

  • The card is a note card and I simply stamped the sentiment in Crisp Cantaloupe.
  • Using the stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement I went to town and had fun with the polka dots! The inspiration came from the Lullaby DSP as this is where my color combo come from – Baked Brown Sugar, Hello Honey & Crisp Cantaloupe.

IMG_6069

I was a bit off with my stamping so I thought…..hmmmmm – what should I do? I just cut off 1/2" off of the bottom of the card! I thought it looked fun and I TOTALLY am going to do this again!

IMG_6060

The fun DSP Print from the Lullaby Collection just pulled this sweet card together. I find trying a challenge is super fun and it really does make you step out of your comfort zone!

IMG_6068

Please feel free to share with me your take on a 1 layer card from 1 stamp set – it was FUN! I was wanting to do something FUN with you to get the week going so how about it – Hopefully you can find time to slide into your crafting space and give it a whirl!

Between typing this blog I have been making or should I say "coloring with the Blendabilites" the "Thank You" card for anyone that places an order with me this month….click here to see the post and I ask you….is this really a pigeon? If so it's the prettiest pigeon I've seen….

Remember, today is the last day to place and order for the weekly deals….not only will you get 25% off..you will also receive this great card from me! (the Flower Frenzy is my pick of must-haves this week)

Let's all have a great week….my poor peep in Boston…..MORE SNOW – my heart goes out to all that have been effected with this weather – it is BITTER cold here and John has been the BEST in dealing with the animals!!!

Stay warm, please feel free to email me and until tomorrow!
