Circle Circus is tickled pink!

IMG_2640

This is a bittersweet week for many of us Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators as we are saying goodbye to some of the retiring products! These
2 stamp sets are on the “bye-bye” and they are truly some of my favorites!

I often get asked…Am I no longer allowed to use
them…simple  = no, not at all! In
fact there are many stamp sets that I will keep to use for my personal use and
my volunteer card making for Breast Cancer, but I will not show them on my blog
simply because we have soooo many super new things coming your way…

I will be selling many of my stamp sets, so please feel free to email me if you would like me to send you a list of the stamp sets that are for sale. In the subject line…just put Stamps for sale!

So…the moral of the story is…make sure that you check out
the retired list to see if you simply cannot live with out something and if
not…I say – WAIT FOR THE NEW CATALOG! We all know we like bargains…but the new
goodies are great!

 I am “tickled PINK”
with this card…I just love pink, grey and black together – always so clean and
crisp – and can you say F U N  –
there is just something about this that just rocks!

IMG_2643

Here you go….

  • The base of the card is a regular A-2 card base
    in Basic Grey.
  • The Pink Pirouette is cut at 4 X 5 ¼ “ and then
    I cut a piece of Whisper White at 3 3/4 X 5”
  • I always put a small piece of snail to the back
and adhere it to a piece of copying paper to stamp my images so I do not get my
    work area messy!
  • I used the same size framelits and cut out 2 in
    Pink Pirouette!
  • I then cut the next larger one with Basic Grey
to give it a bit of contrast! Love it!
  • I strategically placed the 2 pink ones behind
the sentiment and then put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the pink to
    adhere to the grey!

IMG_2641

  • Now to the envelope…cute – right? I simply took
a piece of whisper white 3” X (one little notch in from) 5 ¾” on the Stampin
    Trimmer
(works like a charm every time) and then randomly stamped like I did
    the card!
  • I always use the 2- way glue pen to adhere my
liner to the envelope…just run it around the edges of the flap!

IMG_2642

TIP – When you go to order ( and yes…I know you are going to
order as soon as the new catalog comes out!!!) order 2 of the Stampin’ Pierce
Mat
! Why??? They are incredible to stamp on especially when you have a LARGE
stamp…works like a charm BUT you need to make sure you do not pierce this one…1
for piercing , 1 for stampin’ !

Saying bye-bye is not easy sometimes but it will be worth it
in the end! Stampin’ Up! Does such a fabulous job in keeping us up to date with
the latest in products and technology!

Speaking of technology….I need to get back to playing with
MDS…the great sale of 25% off ends on June 15th and that will be
here before you know it! Think about creating cards that you can order a dozen of to keep on hand….you can always add ribbon, embellishments etc…to make it your own!

Hope you enjoyed today's post….until tomorrow!

  • Whisper White A-2 card base.
  • Wisteria Wonder cut to 4' X 5 1/4"
  • Whisper White cut to 3 1/4" X 5" , before I stamp – I do put this on a sheet of copy paper just so when  I stamp off the edge…it won't mess up my work area! again, the stamp set is Stippled Blossoms!
  • The colors of ink I used were Wild Wasabi, Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder. Stamp the flower – Lighter color 1st (WW) and then use the other stamp in the (EE)
  • Before adhering this to the white base, I put a strip of Sticky Tape down the middle of the 5/8" Organza Ribbon – I know…not necessary but I hate to see ribbon wiggle!
  • Back up…before I cut the white one out – I used the sentiment from the Curly Cute Stamp Set in Wisteria Wonder! I also added 2 regal brads for a bit of bling!

IMG_2362

That's it! Now that wasn't hard was it! Please try this…it truly is a beautiful card and it would make a great birthday…thinking of you…sympathy….theme of a card!Email me your thoughts!

You all know that I simply adore the Designer Series Paper…well – in the new catalog…there are new prints within each color family as they currently have it…I would definitely put this on my wish list. I ALWAYS find these papers to be my regular"go to" to make a card go from o.k. to WOW!!!

I now that we all go through "waves" of making different types of cards…I have been using the Big Shot a bunch lately and I have been having fun!

Did you just see the word FUN??? Well I have learned in life if you are not having FUN, than you should re-evaluate what you are doing….well… I am here to tell you that I am having FUN each and everyday inspiring and creating for you!

I do admit it is a lot of work and a big time commitment …but the outcome is sooo well worth it! I thank you for being such great customers, great inspirational supporters and friends! Have a great day and I hope you like waking up to my inspirations each morning!

Fabulous Phrases are FABULOUS!

IMG_2335
Happy Monday! Let's all have a great week…I feel prepared to inspire you this week! The stamp set, Fabulous Phrases is truly one fabulous stamp set!

I get asked often…how do you get inspired and where do you get your ideas? Well…today's post is a prime example of taking our fabulous catalog and being inspired!

Ever since last year when this catalog came out…I always admired the card on page #133! Today's card is a different twist on this card!

Here you go…paper-crafter's – what a great card that could be mass produced as it would cover many reasons of reaching out to a friend…plus it is easy!

  • Smoky Slate, the super ***NEW***color is my backdrop! I absolutely love grey, pink and white together….one classic trio!
  • After making it into a standard A-2 Card…I used the Edgelits Large Scallop Border running it through the Big Shot to create an interest on the right side of the card! Cute….right!?!?
  • Cutting a strip of Pink Pirouette in a 2" piece…I used a ruler and drew a faint pencil line at 1/2" increments to make sure I had a path to follow…easy!
  • Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig was truly the lifesaver and necessary tool for this card with the Stamp Set of Fabulous Phrases… So easy….just going down line by line with the Melon Mambo ink!
  • Adding a smidge of the grey and then the white to frame this piece made it interesting! Not to the fun touch – using the sticky strip, I adhered the 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon in the Melon Mambo!
  • IMG_2337
  • The Boho Blossoms Punch came out to add a bit of pizzazz and curling the edges slightly – I adhered them with Glue Dots…so darn easy and then made the classic touch of a pearl the finale.
  • When this card is closed – you see the white that I layered on the inside peeking though….looks great!

IMG_2339

Thanks for "popping" by and please share my blog with your family and friends….you can sign up right under the catalog and be inspired each and every morning with me!

Please shoot me an email or leave me a comment on today's post…it is always great to have a "go-to" card for dear friends…this one "fits the bill"!!!

IMG_2336

Until tomorrow….make it a marvelous Monday!

IMG_2325

Whew…that's what yesterday was for me and I have a confession…I did not prepare enough over the weekend for my blogs this week and I feel like saying…

"Calgon…take me away"

Images

I even contemplated not doing a post but then my wonderful hubbie said….go up stairs and have some time for yourself to unwind and create!

This card is a …

"Easy-peasy" kinda card!!!

Hang tight 'cause here you go!

(Click on the pictures as I was not happy with the photography)

  • The neutral is Very Vanilla…cut for a regular A-2 card!
  • I cut the ***NEW*** Pistachio Pudding in a 4" X 5 1/4" and then used the corner rounder to soften the edges!
  • The Very Vanilla piece is 3 1/4" X 3 3/4"… then wowed with the Scalloped Trim Border Punch on both ends was the backdrop for a special touch!
  • Pulling out "Old Faithful"…the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set….I knew that it would not let me down! The colors I used were the Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Pacific Point and the ***NEW*** Crushed Curry ( LOVE!!!!)
  • The sentiment….TOO DARN CUTE – is also ***NEW*** and it is a "hostess stamp set" called Express Yourself! If is a wonderful addition and one that you simply need to have!
  • I needed a bit of femininity so I pulled my all time favorite ribbon to use….the seam binding ribbon – sooooo easy to use! This is the Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon – tied in a simple "Susan knot"

  • IMG_2323

  • Adhering this on a piece of ***NEW*** Strawberry Slush ( don't you love that name) Card Stock cut at 3 1/2" X 4" made the flowers really POP!
  • Now let's talk about this envelope liner, it is from the ***NEW*** Quatrefancy Specialty Paper Pack!…can you say W O W!!! Just love this Designer Paper – make sure you have 1 or better yet 2 of these paper packs on your list! It is soooooo beautiful, handsome, elegant…..the adjectives could go on and on!

  • IMG_2324

Now how is that for a quick and beautiful card! I think the thing love about this stamp set is….you can just  "GO FOR IT" – If you are a little off….no biggie! I am so glad that I was "pushed for creativity" from John….it was what I needed from a long day at work!

IMG_2305

Here you go….

  • Very Vanilla was the Neutral of pick today! I cut it at 4 1/4" and then scored it at 5 1/2' to make a vertical card!
  • This NEW stamp, "Wildflower Meadow" Clear Stamp set is ONE HUGE STAMP! I inked it up with the NEW In Color, Baked Brown Sugar ( love it!!!!) and instead of stamping it…I put the paper on top of my stamp and rubbed it all over – this is really a huge stamp and I feel you get a better impression!
  • Then…the super cool thing is that this stamp has a matching embossing folder, Wildflower Meadow…so naturally I put that to use with the help of my main man, Mr. Big Shot!
  • Using the Regals Blue Buttons…I threaded the Whisper White Bakers Twine through it and knotted it off…I then felt it was too stark so I used the sponge and sponged a bit of the ink in it to soften it! I also placed a tiny pearl on the bird for his eye!
  • I love the Stamp set, Loving Thoughts, and felt it was perfect for this card! I took a small piece of very vanilla and using the stamp-a-ma-jig I was able to perfectly place it right where I wanted it …then took the sponge again to soften the edges before mounting it on a piece of midnight muse!

  • IMG_2306
  • Using Stampin Dimensioanls for both the base of the card as well as the sentiment create the wow factor…o.k. stampers – by now you know…you have to have a TON of these Stampin' Vitamins…they MAKE your cards!
  • A card would not be  "Susan" card without a liner….and this beautiful Midnight Muse print is from the Print Poetry is the perfect finishing touch! ( I surely hope that you have bought this "bye-bye" paper….it is a must!)

IMG_2307

The countdown has begun with the new catalog….my "mother load" of catalogs come today and I will be soooo excited to mail them to my customers! You are going to just have to block of a L O N G period of time to take it all in…..heck – maybe a sick or personal day from work!!!!

Become a PAL with me and you can be a part of the BEST cyber catalog party! It is soooo much fun – I can remember last year listening in to Mary Fish's P.J. Catalog Party and thinking….what the heck is going on…..what are these crazy people thinking….it is just stamps! Mary makes this event so much fun…she has polls for us to vote on the percentage of who thinks a certain set will be a hit or not….you hear all sorts of comments….ideas flowing….it is a HOOT!

Well….see what a difference a year makes…I would not miss this party for the world! Even though I have not personally met these PALS- they have become my cyber friends and I feel like I have known them forever! They are the best support system one could have!

Hope you enjoyed today's SNEAK PEEK….again, I thank you for you kind words, your dedication and I look forward to celebrating many more anniversary's together! “Express Yourself” in an easy-peasy way!

IMG_2293

Good Morning! Now here is  a super cute, super easy, super economical card that is not only sweet…it is fast and it has that simple WOW factor that any one would surly love!

This is also a card that can be "mass produced" in a jif and changing up the sentiments and colors would make it have a totally different feel!

This is a "sneak peek" of the NEW colors that will be coming your way with the NEW catalog! It features the new "In Colors" as well as the new color on the palette -  "bright color" addition…Bermuda Bay!

From left to right the colors are…Crisp Cantaloupe, Bermuda Bay, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush! I just love the names they come up with…kinda like OPI Nail Polish Colors…they always have fun names!

Where did that sentiment come from??? Well that is also a newbie and it is a "Hostess Newbie" and it can be your for just $11.00 with your hostess dollars you earn when you have an event! This is a "keeper" of a set to have…filled with 12 different, wonderful sentiments! ( I wish I could show you a picture of them all…but I can't yet!!!)

Now we all like bargains right??? This Floral Fusion Sizzlits Die is a deal! For just $5.50 look at the WOW it does and just think how a little flower here and there when you have  a spot on your card that needs a little bling….PERFECT…right!!!!

Floral Fusion Stampin' Up! Sizzlits Die - by Stampin' Up!

From the comments I receive…you all seem to love when I do the "bullet points" of sizes…I'll try again for you…if you are confused -  I am an email away!

IMG_2294

  • The finished card size is 6 1/2" X 3 1/2" therefore you will start with a 6 1/2" square scored in half using the Whisper White!
  • While I had the Whisper White out…I cut another piece at 6" X 2 3/4"
  • To maximize my precious card stock I cut a 2 1/2" piece of each of the colors I mentioned above for my flowers! Using the Floral Fusion Die I ran each through "Mr. Big Shot"
  • Glue Dots were my adhesive of choice…so easy and so strong and then I put an adorable "bitty button" in the center of each flower!
  • Out can the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure I get this super sentiment just where I want it! (make sure you do your sentiment BEFORE you put your flowers down!!!)
  • Using a ruler…I faintly drew a line at 3" to center my flower and work outwards!
  • Matting the whole piece with the Pistachio Pudding at 6 1/8" X 2 7/8" completed the simplicity of this card!

Are you thinking…where did that envelope come from? Well it is a Stampin' Up! envelope that they used to carry…I personally loved it and stocked up on many before they had their final "bye-bye"! I think it is fun that it opens on the end! I used a scrap of the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper to jazz it up!

IMG_2296

Have no fear – you know you can always make your own custom envelope! It is truly amazing what you can do with paper!

You all will love the new catalog and all that it offers!
