Where did this stamp come from?

IMG_6002

Good morning! 🙂  Are you scratching your head trying to figure out where this stamp (s) came from? Well….I think that this floral one is a keeper but I have sad news…it is something that you cannot purchase because it was a freebie from Stampin’ Up! for the Birthday Celebration of the Paper Pumpkin program and they mailed out over a million of these monthly kits!

You will have a chance to win this stamp set…because “Smart Susan….I usually say Silly Susan” purchased an extra kit last month for someone to win!

IMG_6006

Before we get to how you can have a chance to win it…let’s talk about the sentiment. Isn’t this a wonderful sentiment? It is from the stamp set, Picture Perfect , one that I have not blogged about but hang tight, you bet I will be because it was carried over to the New Catalog so I am doing the happy dance!

I was rolling the dice on purchasing this stamp set…as I just purchased it about 3 weeks ago and I am so glad I did. My thinking cap is on and I know that you are going to love what I come up with!

IMG_6007

I just had to add the button…I love this as an extra touch. I know that Stampin’ Up! is retiring the buttons and honestly, I do understand it as it is a product that probably does not sell a bunch, it is sometimes an addition that is the “special touch” that is needed.

By now you know that I love Bakers Twine…and making it fun and festive like this is just plain FUN! Glue dots are the best to hold buttons in place! 🙂

One more look at this special card. This is a card that anyone could do. I know that many of you might look at this and think that it is complicated…..all it is is a stamp…ink…new stamp…ink…etc

I think that sometimes when we see stamps that create a “scene” like this, we feel it is hard….please take a moment and see what I mean – it really is easy!

IMG_6004

Now to how you can win this stamp set!

If you join Paper Pumpkin, (even if it is just for a month –  see below in the shopping list)…you will have a chance to win this stamp set.

The beauty of this program is that you can join for 1 month…you can have a 3 month, a 6 month or a yearly subscription…you can skip a month and you can stop the program at anytime! Basically you can have it anyway it works for you!

I have been a member since it started 3 years ago and I can honestly say that there have only been a couple that I have not been a fan of but I have always found a way to make it work…

Stampin’ Up! has put a HUGE marketing presence in this program and all I can say is….give it a try – all you would lose is $19.95. For anyone that signs up with me by May 10th will have a chance to win this stamp set. I will announce the winner on May 11th!

The above picture is a “sneak peak” for the May kit. I know that we are already in May but with the Paper Pumpkin Program…the 10th of the month is an important date….as if you order by the 10th, you will receive this above kit (it looks super cute…..right!) plus you will have a chance to win this special addition stamp set from me!!! 🙂

p.s. – If you were a Paper Pumpkin customer before…I would LOVE to have you back and YES – you will have a chance to win this freebie from me!

I have a BUNCH of graduation gifts that I need to be prepared for and who would not love a dozen of handmade cards…plus some extra goodies.

Gifts from the heart matter…you matter.

Your time & love that you put into your projects does make a difference!

I blogged about this note card over the weekend and I just love clean and simple cards like this! The “box” is sooooo easy to make and it was inspired to me from the super talented Sam Donaldson….it you do not know of her, you need to as she is one talented SUD from the UK. She always inspires me and I just ADORE hearing that lovely accent of hers! 🙂

Here is a link for a video that she did which inspired me to make this. I did not do all of the steps and fru-fru that she did it you watch the whole thing…I just knew that I needed the “meat and potatoes” of the project!

I will add some measurements for you….please make this – it is super fun and comes together in a snap!

  • Start with a piece of card stock 8″ X11″
  • Using the Simply Scored and have it on the long side, score at 4 1/2″ and 6 1/2″
  • Turn to the short side and score at 1″, 2″, 6′ and 7″
  • Turn back to the long side and score at the 5 1/2″ mark just to the score line (see photo below)

IMG_5969

  • Fold and use your bone folder to get great crisp edges. (don’t worry about trying to fold in that little scored line – this is one for stability for the box, it will make sense when you complete the box!)
  • Cut up as shown and I also feel that it is sooooo important to cut at an angle. To me, this is the key to clean edges.

IMG_5970

  • If you choose to decorate the front, the DSP (YEP…I am STILL USING UP my DSP – how are YOU DOING), this piece is 3 3/4″ X 4 1/4″
  • Add adhesive, I like the fast fuse or you could use tear tape. You can see in the below photo where I placed it. Fold forward the back of the box to the adhesive.

IMG_5974

  • You can see in the below photo that I have fast fuse on the sides on the front and then you simple bring it forward to meet to complete the box….SOOOOO easy – SOOOOO practical!

IMG_5978

Here in the below photo that you can see the final part coming together. the scored lines on the sides help give the box some stability and I also think it gives a polished look! What do you think? Easy to make…right????? Let me know your thoughts! I have made 9 of these and it is fun to play with all different colors of papers etc….

IMG_5976

Time for a little “jazzing” up….Susan style, very simple! I did use the triple banner punch at 1″ and then 1 1/8″ as all I was going for was a peek of black popping out!

The dashes and the simple ribbon makes it fun! I stuck dimensionals on the back of the banner and then placed a glue dot on top of the bermuda bay ribbon and PLOPPED a white bow!

IMG_5981

Here is another picture of the fun project. I was very happy with it and trust me, anyone would love to receive this practical gift. The itty bitty flowers added the final touch. (I will miss these in our line but I know that I will always use them)

IMG_5985

Were you wondering why I had a clothespin??? Easy – I added some stamps to complete the gift. Tucking a pen in there is also a fun touch. Whenever you can package a “complete” gift like this – the person that receives it will remember it…as it is super special!

A funny…a reminder and a “heads up”!

tumblr_nkkplqTjRK1rqak9yo1_500

Yesterday was great…well kind of! I kept true to my jammies for most of the day and I left my cell phone out of sight…no tv…just turned up some music and organized in my work area…to me, that it a great day as it is super rewarding…it still looks like a HUGE mess but I can see the “light”….my goal is by Wednesday morning!

Your Funny for the day:

I have a funny for you….we arrived home on Saturday night around 10 p.m. so it was dark out…it was great to drive down our lane…come into the house and see out fur babies…We are super blessed to have an AMAZING couple that stays at our house while we are gone and they are great with the animals.

Our farm is a fun place to be, especially with a bunch of animals…except when it rains…having so many dogs (and they have 2 that they bring) can make it a long time when it rains…and it rained while we were gone.

When I checked in with her on Saturday morning to see how things were going, I received the usual….”perfect – everyone is great….but one question, were is the attachment to the vacuum?” I instantly said, no worries – please do not vacuum and then I heard….“it’s ok – we have had one hot mess but everything is ok…promise !!!”

We walked in and the house looked great…and then I noticed…there was glitter here and there stuck to the sofa and on the floors…I thought – hmmmm…this is strange (and I really ….REALLY dislike glitter…sparkles etc). WELL….one or possible more “perfect pooches” went upstairs to my work area and brought down SEVERAL containers of glitter and somehow got them open and had a HAY DAY!!!! I have been working to pull together products that I do not use to give to the local girls club and my darlings found the glitter!

What can you do but laugh….they are like toddlers when they cannot get out to play!!!! Rosie still has glitter in her hair so I think that she is the culprit! You know what it is like to get that up….you will see it for a while – I am still laughing!

Your “heads up” for the day:

Tomorrow I am going to share with you a super cute way to package note-cards like I shared with you yesterday. After all, we love making cards so why not make a super fun, cute and useful container for it.

I know that many of you do not care for making 3 -d’s but I will encourage you to give it a try – to me, it is that “icing on the cake” Giving handmade cards is just the best gift in the world, it is always well received and both you are happy and the lucky friend is happy to!

Sorry for no card today….just some chitter-chatter….how’s your coffee? 🙂  I love having coffee with you and I hope I made you smile….let’s have a great week!

Until tomorrow….happy Monday!

A 2 for 1 for you!

Hello and I am back home…it has been a L O N G but FUN and R E W A R D I N G 4 days! Back to the grind on the home front but today I think that I might have some of you scratching your heads.

I say that because it will be super hard for you to tell a big difference between the 2 cards and you are going to have to keep an open mind and hopefully I will be able to walk you through the differences.

I had both John and Hannah stumped and they could not understand why there is a difference between the 2. When you hold them in your hand, you will see the difference. The end result is that Hannah is thrilled with the note cards as she needed a new supply from Mom!

Today I am using (3) products that are “walking the plank” ~ Itty Bitty Accent Punches, the deco Label Framelits and the Larger than Life Alphabet Stamp. Here are my thoughts about these products…

Itty BItty Accent Punches – a must have as they are always a perfect filler for here and there ! I bet I use one of them just about daily and there is not a replacement of them in the new catalog (I don’t get it but that is ok as there are tons of new goodies) 🙂

Screen Shot 2016-04-30 at 10.15.20 PM

Deco Label Framelits – I really love and use the “nesting” framelits. I will keep these for my personal use as I find that I do use them often as I like the shape and they are practical for me.

Larger Than Life Alphabet Stamp Set – When this came out I adored it because I just love simple monograms like I am showing you today! I do agree that it is very expensive but the way that I justified it was….look at how many gifts I used then stamp set for. This make a wonderful and useful gift to give a friend, a package of personalized note cards handmade by YOU!

Now hang on to your hats….I have a ca-zillion pictures for you! Just take it all in and feel free to leave me a comment if you have questions….suggestions….or simply have something to say! Today is a day ALL ABOUT BEING HOME….and it will be a “jammies” day with NO GUILT!!!!!

I know that I fall short in responding to your comments, but leave me one and I will pop on and answer your questions! I hope that the pictures will help shed light to this FUN card….

IMG_5845

The biggest difference is….the below (Simple Saturday) the green frame and the initial is adhered together with tear and tape and then adhered, POPPED UP on the front of a note card!

IMG_5840

The below, (Step it up Sunday) is just one more step…I cut a piece of whisper white 1/4″ smaller , than cut with the deco framelits like I did above…..

IMG_5838

Please use your “stacking framelits” to the max…in the below picture you can see how you can achieve a “ring” – a perfect sandwich to use!

Trust me…this new catalog is F A B U L O U S and there are L O T S of nesting framelits in there….this is G R E A T because framelits take up so much less room than punches and we are going to have L O T S of C H O I C E S! 🙂

IMG_5726

Use the tear tape to adhere together… it is F A S T … it is E A S Y… it is S T R O N G!

IMG_5727

The fun foam that you see in the below picture is not a Stampin’ Up! product, it is a product that I like when mounting a rather large area…I do purchase it from Amazon and I must say, I like the feel it gives to a card. Here is the link to the one I use!

IMG_5724

2 more images of each below…..I hope that you can see the difference and then visualize or better yet, try to see which style you like….you must admit…the flowers and the pearls are the icing on the F U N cake!

Yikes – I have not looked in the “walking the plank” lists for the past couple of days….I am sad. 😥  The Craft Scissors are gone…..good think I am good to go!! Remember, when they are gone…they are gone!

Many thanks for your patience and understanding….my “joy tank” is filled to the max from the past several days….and it is great to be home….but it will even be better having a “jammies” day today!
