Life’s Adventures!

IMG_1719

I was looking for a special stamp to send a special friend a special card! (Now say that 3 times) Well…I think I nailed it as the sentiment was exactly what I was looking for…to "enjoy the adventure" as he has been on the best adventure and the best is yet to come! (Can you guess who it is for???)

This stamp set is a Hostess Set and I would love to work together to help you be able to get this super set! Please email me and together we can work together to achieve goals! Even if we live WAY FAR AWAY – no worries…where there is a will…there is a way and I would love to help you!

133934G

Today's card is another strange size – you know me….I just love the envelope punch board and it is just the best that you can make any size your heart desires! The finished size of the card is 4 X 7 so I can make an envelope from a regular size of paper!

IMG_1709

I am lovin the Memento Ink….( I kind of feel bad for my Black Staz On…..as he has been back-burnered….but remember he does have a purpose when watercoloring) I chose the length for this card so I could put 2 bikes easily on it!

IMG_1712

The "added touch" that I was tickled with was the embossed line above and below the bike…..how did I do that? After stampin my image I flipped over the very vanilla and used the Simply Scored Tool and made a nice and deep line! I personally think that you can get a "deeper" image with this tool but you could easily use your Stampin Trimmer.

IMG_1714
Isn't the Dot Bases and Brights Candy Dots super fun in the wheels. Just think of how a simple touch like this…make a card go to wow! Fun, easy and FAST!

How about this great DSP…it is from the Flashback DSP. I think that the reason I really like it is because it coordinates with Very Vanilla…sometimes I think our papers always go to Whisper White. Please click here to see the offerings of the but 3 and get 1 free – a perfect time to stock up!

133699G

Make sure that you do not "skimp" on using stampin' dimensionals – we do not like sags and with the brads…you really need to make sure that there are plenty of dimensionals!

IMG_1721

As I said before, I love making my own envelopes and many times I like to cut off a portion of the flp of the envelope – (just switching it up a bit) and then a simple lining of the outer flap was the perfect touch!

IMG_1717

I couldn't resist – I just had to stamp the outside of the envelope! Now I know what you are thinking…why would I put candy dots on the front? Well, I usually always ask my postmaster to "hand stamp" my cards so they do not go thru machines….Fingers crossed they will be on when it arrives to my friend!

Please think about working together to get some hostess benefits – I would love to help you reach a goal! When you see the new Holiday Catalog…you are going to go WOWZERS….I NEED to get my friends inspired! It is soooo special!

Click here to see this Tuesday's specials….Stampin' Up! is great to have these offerings every week. Many thanks for popping in and I hope that you CASE away on this card – I think it is super cute!

Until tomorrow!

p.s. – Did you guess who this card is for….my dear friend Brian King! He has had a FABULOUS year and I am so proud of him and honored to call him my friend! He is a total hoot! (Let's see if he pops on my blog)

Even though I could not be there in person for convention…I sure was in spirit! Way to go for an amazing year my friend! You are "the King" and you always make me smile!

Make it MINE – week #12!

IMG_1697

YIKES…when I saw that it was week 12 I was smiling from ear to ear! I am so proud of you and I need to give a SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to Sharon H. She has emailed me EVERY week enjoying these challenges and when I receive her email…my heart is super happy! ( her sister is joining the fun)

Here is the challenge for today and it is a super simple one! I am sure that you all can come up with some beauties. Now that my busy weekend is over, I have Thank You's to send to a variety of people to send notes to that helped me over my busy time!

FMS83

Now you can see that I made this into a BIG CARD…a 5 X 7 as the gals that are receiving this are fun…love bold colors and love bling! They are sisters that represent a jewelry company and were guest speakers for a ladies luncheon that I was in charge of!

IMG_1699

Now before we go any further…are you wondering where that adorable DSP came from? Well it is the Gold Soiree DSP but I changed its color…..how???

My inspiration came from Stampin' School, a weekly inspiration that I subscribe to and I was so excited to see that IT WORKS! I took this DSP and changed it's color….that's right – I changed its color…..so easy!

IMG_1694

Here is a tool that I think I have never blogged about….a Brayer. It is the easiest tool to use and it cleans up like a dream! Because this DSP is a bit heavier and also has a gold touch to it…the "ink" that you apply soaks into the paper and then the sky is the limit!

IMG_1667

After you do the coloring…just take a simple paper towel and "rub off" the excess and presto – you have a new and unique DSP!

IMG_1695

Here is the next star to this card…heat embossing (Wow – I have been doing this a bunch lately and lovin' it) When you heat emboss there are 3 things that you need…

  1. Embossing Buddy – this takes the static off your paper to allow a clean and crisp image
  2. Embossing Powder – this is a NEW on – Calypso Coral
  3. Heat Tool – I love ours…I had one from a craft store and donated it and bought ours – a world of difference!

IMG_1702

Because my friend loves "bling", I am using something else that I rarely use – Rhinestones! I know that it will make her smile!

IMG_1706

Can you see how crisp the embossed image it…this is all because of the Stampin' buddy…this is so bold and crisp!

IMG_1707

I stitched with the Calypso Coral pen to break up the space and add a bit of interest!

IMG_1703

Because the card size if a 5 x 7 – naturally I needed to use a piece of 12 X 12 paper. I highly recommend that you keep in your supply the basic colors of these sizes as they come in handy! Using the envelope punch board made it a totally cinch for both the envelope and the liner!

Well…how did you like this…I think it turned out super fun and I also know that Annette and Rhonda will enjoy these cards! Please give this challenge a whirl….you can do it – I know you can!

Now to FUN pictures for you. John came home and had a GREAT visit with "peep" James and when he came home – the animals were happy to see him….( Daisy and I were too).

Enjoy these below pictures of all 5 of the dogs taking a "ride" in the truck with their Dad! A simple joy that they love!

Fun Colors that POP!

IMG_1557

As you know if you follow my blog (and I hope you do) that I did not go to convention due to a work conflict that I simply could not miss….and needless to say I was sad…BUT the PALS have kept all of us that did not go informed of all of the new and exciting things!

I was able to see the new Holiday catalog on line and the best advice I can give you is…GET READY! It is wowzers and my head is spinning with ideas! I can hardly wait for you to see it and I can hardly wait to order the new goodies!

Let get to the card today as I think it is fun and I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve to help you make this easier! Tricks and Tips are so key in anything in life….be it cooking…learning a new task….gardening – there are always ways that others have paved the way to make it easier for you…and it is these tips that I adore to share with you!

IMG_1554

This was just a FUN card to make for many reasons!

  1. I loved using many colors
  2. I loved using the Arrows Embossing Folder and Big Shot
  3. I adore the new single stamps in the catalog and this one….wow – great sentiment!
  4. I love being able to make an actual bow and be proud of it! (I am bow challenged!!!)

IMG_1551

Let's get going with the above picture! The Silicone mat is a life saver for you as between this and the sticky tape…you are looking like a pro! I hope that you can see in the picture how you can place the sticky strip over 2 of the colors with no gap!

The KEY IS…to do this BEFORE you run it through the Big Shot with the Embossing Folder! If not – you will "lose your bananas" trying to line up the pieces and also the pattern will not be matched up! Remember, use the "green glue" to adhere an embossed images….always works great…but in THIS CASE…all you have to go is PEEL OFF THE STICKY STRIP….here comes a woot-woot!

IMG_1562

Let's talk about this sentiment…it is just great…in all ways as "Love who you are" is the ONLY way to go. I know that we are our own worst enemies at times (well I know I am at times)….there are times that we wish we had curly hair…or wish we were thinner…or wish we cold cook….but the reality is…

We are what we are…and we need to learn to love and accept the gift!

I feel like this is soooooo hard for many of us to embrace but we need to continue to work to strive to find the "balance" that we all search for!

134342G

You do not need me to tell you how to make this card…it is really straight forward and because all of this great DSP is on sale this month…I used the Sweet Taffy DSP to guide me through the colors of this card! Click here to see the papers that you can buy 3 and get 1 free…great time to stock up!

133693G

I do the happy dance every time I use this new cotton ribbon! I will say – HANDS DOWN – this was the most popular ribbon in my ribbon share and I doubly love it because…I CAN MAKE A BOW…and it is actually not bad!

IMG_1560

I will say that I first placed the ribbon and adhered it to the back of the card and then I made a simple bow and used a glue dot to adhere it! WOOT-WOOT…..works like a charm! I just love tips that make things easy!

IMG_1559

I know that I have been on a roll with lining the outside of the envelope. It is easy and it works…so why not??!?!

I need to go back and look at the new catalog and continue to take it all in! There is so much to take in… and you are going to be doing the "Happy Dance" with a new tool that is under $20.00 that will make you sooooo happy! I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!

Thank you for taking your precious time to pop by my blog, I appreciate you and  thank you! Remember, you can click here and shop away from your home and your goodies will be delivered right to your door from the "Brown Man" – we love UPS!!!

Hugs to all…until tomorrow!
