This is an unusual post for me for 2 reasons….
- It is a bit late…but at the same time I did not want to post it as I know Lydia follows my blog and I did not want to spoil a surprise! Lydia is my youngest son's girlfriend and she just turned 22!
- This is the 1st time I am showcasing a Stampin' Up! item that is no longer available….( and that feels really weird!!!!) but you'll understand….hang on!
My son came home for the weekend to help me with preparing our house for John to come home and very randomly he asked me…."Mom, did anything come today?" – well, sure enough something did come in his name which was strange to me as he is off on his own….
When he showed me what it was I had a huge smile on my face! His girlfriend also came up for the weekend to be a help to me and he had shipped to the house an adorable necklace that was almost the exact same "elephant" that is on this card!

The light-bulb went off immediately as I knew that this stamp ( that I still had) was the perfect stamp for her card! She is such an amazing person and always has a happy, positive and loving heart…..and I know she will totally appreciate this post!

What a smile…this is a picture of Lydia during our family vacation this summer! Lydia has a special "heart " for our animals! I am totally an animal lover and it will be interesting when John get's home from the hospital….in the house….we have 5 dogs and a precious house pig, "Daisy-Mae"
Lydia is always a help to me with the animals and always is so happy playing and keeping them entertained! Charlie is her favorite(far left)… Eddie( right) L OV E S tennis balls…and poor "jack" in the middle – is our "needy one"!

Now let's get to the card!!! A simple yet fun card layout that would produce a smile to anyones face! Again, there is nothing wrong in a great layout that can be used over and over and you will still get the same end result….a gift of art from YOUR heart!
The colors I used were Smokey Slate, Whisper White and Daffodil Delight! Clean, classic and fun! Using a classic backdrop like this is always a win=win for a card!
Adding just a little bling I used the Brights Candy Dots...for the elephants flower – these are simply the best and if you do not have them….click here and order all 4 color collections as YOU WILL USE THEM! love, LOVE them! I have YET to use them with the brads….just get the Candy Dots!

The Seaming Binding Ribbon in Daffodil Delight was the added touch that added depth and texture! This to me, is the easiest ribbon to work with….I wish Stampin' Up had it in every color…I would scoop them all up!

It would not be a post of mine without an envelope of fun for you! I made the envelope with the super new and fun and totally necessity of the Envelope Punch Board.…if you do not have it….STOP NOW and ask yourself why????? and then…..if not – click here and as Michael Jordan says…."Just do it"
The outside fun came from one of my favorites…..the Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper! They make me smile…..especially in daffodil delight! How about the fun on the front! Too many smiles for Lydia!

I hope that you have enjoyed this card and you join me in wishing Lydia a happy 22nd birthday! Our wish for you is for many more healthy and happy returns….you are a special person and I personally admire your dedication you have! So….sooo proud of you!
PRODUCT ALERT!!! Remember today is the magical day that you can order the Magnetic Platform!….now this is a big WOOT-WOOT as it has been on back order for a long time! I realize that is has been very frustrating to many of you but think of it this way….the reason was because it is so amazing!!!

What a true life saver this gem is! Your framelits stay in place…not more post it notes…no more wiggles in the paper – you will be amazed at what a time saver it is!
Thanks for popping in and until tomorrow!
by Susan Itell | Sep 11, 2013 | Thank You |

Whew….was that a fun Blog hop or what yesterday! I have so much fun hopping from bog to blog seeing everyone super duper ideas! To me, this monthly fun is inspiration to the max!
Speaking of inspiration…wow – my friends sure have been inspiring me and spoiling me! My husband is doing much better, getting stronger everyday and tonight I had a wonderful treat and "date" with my hubby!
A friend dropped off to me at work the most beautiful and yummy dinner…all hot and ready… I hopped in the car…went to the hospital and the 2 of us had a great meal together! Home cooked food hit the spot to him – me too!
Naturally, I needed to make her a card of thanks! I had already had a post prepared for today but this needed to be made so when I drop off her dishes tomorrow….she will have some "sunshine" of this super sweet and simple thank you!
I wanted to use a stamp set that I have not used in a while so out came the World Treasures Stamp Set! These flowers are so simple and adding the In Color Dahlias was the perfect 3-d touch to bring some WOW to the card!

TIP ALERT: I did 1st stamp the flower image with the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the correct placement…clean it THEN using the markers 1 at a time…I did the flowers 1st…CLEANED IT….then did the stems!
WHY? – guess it's the type A in me and I have figured out that if you just simply take this extra step…you will save time and paper in the long run as you will get a clean and crisp stamp! I personally have just found that I cannot get the proper coverage in doing it in 1 step! (hope this makes sense)

Adding a bit of the In Color Raspberry Ripple Ribbon broke the "solidness" of the Very Vanilla but still allowing the Very Vanilla be the focal backdrop!
The sweet sentiment….it can be YOURS with hostess credits! It comes from the Morning Meadow Stamp Set and I have showcased it many times and it is well worth the $150.00 order or class! Remember you can have a cyber gathering….how fun is that!!!! Email me and I will set you up with a hostess code and you can get cyber friends from all over to support your on line gathering!

Layering a solid on a solid is the quickest way to have a clean WOW!!! So simple…so do-able! I did use the corner rounder from the Envelope Punch Board….(love this corner rounder…no ridges!!!!)
It's envelope time! The Polka Dot Parade was the pick of the day and with the help of Mr. Big Shot and the Envelope Liner Framelits…..PRESTO!!!!

Now the best for LAST!!!! TOMORROW, Thursday the 12th you can order the Magnetic Platform! (The item # is 130658) I am sorry that Stampin' Up! has had these on back order for soooo long – I know that it has been frustrating but trust me….it is well worth the wait – but don't wait again….click here and get an order ready for tomorrow!!! You will adore it!

Friends are truly to be cherished and I feel so blessed to have friends that rally together when we are in need! Yesterday was a long day and it was so wonderful not to think about what to eat and John was thrilled not to have hospital food!!!
It's Wednesday already….have a great day, please tell your family and friends about my blog and subscribe so you do not miss a daily dose of fun and inspiration from me!
I know that there are lots of choices out there, but please know I love and appreciate being your Stampin Up! Demonstrator!
Until tomorrow!
by Susan Itell | Sep 10, 2013 | Christmas, PALS Blog Hops |

Thank you for joining us for the September Pals Blog Hop. This
month we are showcasing projects made with the Stampin' Up! tools we
love.

You should have just left stop number 22 on the Pals Hop – Barb Furlong at The Love of Stamping. If so, you are in the right spot.
Don't worry if you get off track…I'll have the whole line up at the end of the post and I do hope that you will treat yourself to 24 Blogs of inspiration and fun!
This is probably one of my favorite times of the month…the PALS Blog Hop! It is so much fun to see all of the inspiration but this month really had me thinking!

WHY?… Well, the theme, using tools we love….where could I possibly begin cause I love so many! I was really, really trying to do something super different and fun but honestly I became a bit stressed with myself and said…just do and show what you like! I listened to my inner voice and here you go!
One thing I know was that I wanted an odd size card (4 1/2" X 6") so naturally I could use the unbelievable Envelope Punch Board and if you do not have this…..you need to click here now as for $19.95, it is amazing all that it can do!

Hmmmmm….to get this odd size card….I needed a piece of paper measuring 4 1/2" X 12 and scored it at 6" – I know that I have posed before….please go and see how many 12 X 12 colors of paper we have! They truly come in handy! Love having the flexibility of ordering at this size!
Polka Dots make me smile…no matter what color they are, what size they are….I adore them! When the holiday catalog came out and I saw the Seasons of Style Designer Series Paper….I was doing the happy dance – love everything about this paper!

Another thing that caught my eye at 1st glance was this stamp! I think the font is fabulous and I instantly knew if would make it to my house – so bold, clean, crisp and classic! It is called "Love and Joy" (how unique) and it's a keeper!

Being that I have made cards before with this style/layout…I knew that another one of my favorite things are our framelits! Today I used the Deco Labels Framelits and this meant that I was able to use my Main Man, Mr. Big Shot….( just adore him) and better yet…the new Magnetic Platform!

Hang tight….I know that it has been SUPER frustrating that the Magnetic Platform has been on backorder…..but YOU can be Cindrella and at mignight on this Thursday September 12th, it is avaliable to order!!! Treat yourself…you will never regret it – an amazing tool! The item number is (130658)
Using the platform with the framelits is a breeze – you will love it!

One of the key ingredients in making this card have the WOW factor it has…is using a bunch of Stampin' Vitamins….Stampin' Dimensionals! These are the simple key factor to really making your cards have a clean, sharp and professional look! I just love them and use them all the time!
One tool that I did not use but I do consider it one of my favorites is our new Envelope Liner Framelits! This is a life saver and time saver! Please click here and refer back to my post that I did on using both, the framelits and the "Susan way" of lining (like I did here today) both work…both look great!

The one thing that is FOR SURE is that Stampin' Up! has sooooo many incredible products that all make us shine! They are not only the best on the market, they are very easy to use!
There is so much talent out there and I always love learning more and helping you reach your goals! Please reach out to me if I can help you with your projects! I am an email away and you can always order from my website anytime!
How did you like today's card?….please feel free to leave me a comment! I realize that the holidays are still far away ~ but they will be here before you know it! I think that this would be a card you would be proud to send!
Have a blast popping from Blog to Blog and be a sponge and take it all in! There is so much talent on Mary Fish's PALS group…it is a "happy land" and we have fun together!
The next stop is Rae Harper at Wild West Paper Arts, stop number 24 on

by Susan Itell | Sep 9, 2013 | Love, Stamp-a-ma-jig |

If you follow my blog, you will see that this card is not a "usual Susan" card but I think it is fun! I can remember when the PALS had a conference call going over all of the new goodies before it was available to everyone – I remember soooo many saying how much they LOVED the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set!
I can specifically remembering as I was going page by page with the new catalog before this call and writing down all the stamps sets that I considered to be an "A Set" and then I had a column of ?'s until I heard some feedback and then the last column was the ones that I simply did not like….and this is where Gorgeous Grunge was….and now – I LOVE IT!

I learned a lesson from this and one that I try to "preach" to my children….not to prejudge! This is exactly what I did and since it was not a clean and tailored look…I felt that it would not be a stamp set I would use often…..WRONG!!! It is a perfect accent in soooo many ways!
Today's card was truly an inspiration from this weeks Pals Paper Art Challenge! ( It's not too late for you to play along….) I truly love looking at all of the ideas that people come up with and the instant I saw the card with the very simple "I Dig You" I fell in love with it!
This card was make by Stampin' Up! Demonstraor, Karin Menghini, and you can click here to see her "take" of this fun color challenge this week! I loved everything about it and emailed her to see if I could feature it on my blog and show my twist off her great card!
I knew that I wanted to use this stamp set, Tag It Stamp Set, in a a way that would create lots of interest as the 3 simple words of "I dig you" is so fun! Remember, every time we sell one of these Tag It Stamps Stampin' Up! will donate $3.00 to the Ronald McDonald House! IS that oober great or what!

I need to say that "I dig" Stampin' Up! for doing such a generous gift for such a needed organization! There are many demonstrators all over that endlessly give their time and talent to the Ronald McDonald House! Unfortunately, we do not have a chapter locally so this is why I am soooo passionate about my Breast Cancer Cards!
Here you go….short and sweet cause' it's sooo easy! The key tool is the Stampin-A-Ma-Jig….your true lifesaver! If you are going to do something like this….why wouldn't you have this tool to use to make your life easier! Click here and order one now!!!
The card size is a 5 X 5 square and the colors I used were Rose Red, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso! After stampin' the back ground in the Sahara Sand I let my sentiment and Stamp -a-ma-jig do their magic!

Matting it with the same colors I still felt that it needed something little….and that darn' heart in the Owl Punch was once again the perfect finishing touch! Love that little Owl and ……check back this week cause I have and adorable Owl treat coming your way!
The oober fun Envelope Punch Board made it easy-peasy to make my custom envelope! The Regals Designer Series Paper Stack was the perfect finale to this card!

Tomorrow is a SUPER FUN day with many blogs…it the PALS Blog Hop for September! The theme is for us to showcase Stampin' Up! Tools that we love….wow – where do I begin!
I can begin by thanking YOU for popping to my blog…it's a fun creative outlet for me and I adore meeting so many cyber friends and customers along the way!
Hugs to you….and until tomorrow!
