Welcome to the August 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month we’re going to “Cut It Out”. Participants will feature projects with “cuts” from punches, dies, Framelits, Edgelits, or Thinlits.
Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
Happy Hop & Hump Day to YOU!!!
The PALS monthly Blog Hop is always a day of sunshine and inspiration and I am sure that today is no different! Have fun hopping from Blog to Blog and I suggest that you be a sponge and soak it all up!
I was super excited about this theme as I think that Stampin’ Ups! “Cut it out” stuff is the best! We have so many options and today…I went for many – the trimmer, Mr. Big, Framelits and still more framelits ….DRUM ROLL…a NEW punch! WOOT-WOOT….I think that I hit them all!
At the end of the post you will see the whole line up of products! I am going to keep this post short ’cause you have a bunch of hoppin’ to do and let the pictures tell the story…I adore simple shapes…and today – it is totally hip to be square!
The focal sentiment is from the Ribbon of Courage Bundle. Now let’s quickly chat about this font….is it OVER THE TOP or what?! Not only is the sentiment amazing but the whole “feel” of it just makes you smile!
Are you smiling? I bet that you are thinking….this is hard?!?! Now take a deep breath and then look at it. It is all about the basics….sometimes I feel like the elements to my cards are so boring as I really use the “basics” over and over….but that is how I roll.
I think that we can all agree that the Stampin’ Trimmer is one great tool. I adore it. I would not be with out it. I admit, I have many….actually MANY trimmers as I think that there are trimmers that have many different uses but this one…I always go back to. It is a classic…it does everything you would need….scoring and cutting – what more could you ask for!
These squares are 1 1/8″ squares and here are 3 things that make it happen: A ruler, a mechanical pencil and an eraser. (again, basics) Take a gander at the below picture and then below you will see the “works” of the how did she do it?
Another key product that I used that made this project fun and easy was using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. These ARE a must have for all of us. All you do is adhere it to the back of your paper….cut it out (as I did today with the trimmer) or you can use it with the big shot and framelits.
One of the reasons that I like this product is the ease of perfect placement and the ability to move the piece until I get it “just right” and then PRESS and PRESTO….it’s adhered!
How do you like these colors together? They are right up my alley. Clean, crisp and classic! Can you see how mixing a bunch of “cutting products” just seems to work! Please do not be afraid…just try it but please remember that it is the basic tools that make it work.
If you are new to stamping….welcome, you have a new addiction. The best advice I can give you is…get the basics – they WILL be your friend and when in doubt – pull them out….they are your friends…they will be your lifeline!
Before you HOP ON…..do you see the leaf punch? WOOT-WOOT….it is a newbie in the upcoming catalog and it is part of a bundle and YEP, you need it! I am giving you heads up….’cause it is a keeper! I know that you might think that it is crazy to have it in So Saffron but WHY NOT….So Saffron makes everything better! (I love that color)
I hope that you are smiling and I would love to hear how you like my project for you today! Yikes…so much to say but I am out of time….(how about this ribbon???) I admit that when I saw this Navy Crinkled Ribbon I was not sure about it but boy was I wrong…it makes the most AMAZING bows!
OK – that’s it from me….I do hope that I brought some inspiration to your day and I hope that I shared with you that sticking with the basics is the way to go. I am a simple card maker and this layout….YEP, is my cup of tea (even thoughI am a coffee drinker) 😀
Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on September 13, 2017 for “My Favorite Season”. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We’d love to hear what you have to say about our creative “Cuts”.

Welcome to the June 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month’s theme, Pick a “B”, features projects inspired by Babies, Birthdays and Brides to name few. You may just get a glimpse of new catalog products while you hop with us today.
Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
YIPPEE-SKIPPEE!!! This is one of my most favorite days of the month….a PALS Blog Hop! Now I know that you have a BUNCH of HOPPING to do so there are 2 things that I want to say….
- Thanks for popping in….
- I hope you come back! 😀
Now let’s get going…..
Today, I decided to do a super fun card that uses a technique that we all love….Emboss Resist….are you saying WHAT?????
It is super easy and super fun but the real fun of this project is the below stamp set….now I ask you – did you skim right past it in the catalog???? (it’s kinda in the back of the stamps….page 161) but let me inspire you as it is a FUN STAMP!
There were 2 things that I did for todays card…
- I sponged a piece of Thick Whisper White with Rich Razzleberry and a wee bit of Berry Burst.
- I stamped the flower image with Versa Mark and then Heat Set it with White Embossing Powder.
Hence….emboss resist!
The other “must have…no questions asked” product that we all need is the Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder….isn’t is B E A U T I F U L ??? I am over the moon with it….
This is the 1st that I have blogged about it but I ask you….look above at the envelope flap and see the texture – how fast and easy!
Here comes another NEWBIE….the Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon….how about the new ribbons in this wonderful new catalog….are they the BEST or what….
I admit, I am usually not a fan of ombre things….but this ribbon is so subtle in the variation of colors that it is a BLUE RIBBON winner in my eyes….(heck, truth be told….I LOVE any of the new products in the Lemon Lime Twist…..just sayin’)
This ribbon is a dream machine to make a bow…if you can tie your shoe – than you can make a great bow with this ribbon
Here is the picture to smile about….it all pulled together! Can you see that taking basic elements and basic techniques can make you go “out of that catalog box” a wee bit and have a FUN and different card!
This truly is soooo simple….basic shapes….fun blending the ink….fun embossing…fun stampin….fun making a simple banner – just ONE FUN CARD!
I know that you have a BUNCH OF HOPPING…..so I say – HOP AWAY but thank you for popping in…..how do you like this card???…we all have many “B’s” throughout the year and I think that you can easily see that the colors that you can use are endless….(heck – try this with several colors on the same card with the blending….)
Thanks again for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on July 12th. We’re having a pattern party! Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. See you on July 12th for the next Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I am showing products that are “WALKING THE STAMPIN’ UP! PLANK” as we are in our final weeks of grabbing them! Todays card is for my wonderful godson that is graduating from College on Saturday and it was a perfect timing for todays theme of textures …techniques!
I think that we all have struggles with a masculine card…and yesterday I shared in my blog a Tuesday Tip with the “shaving cream” technique. Below you will see the “masterpiece” before I cut it down for the card.
I chose to just use 1 color of a re-inker….Delightful Dijon. Maybe I should have used several colors to make it more interesting…..I was super happy with keeping it super simple.
I hope that you watch the video below and then I hope that you go to the store and buy some shaving cream. Sometimes you can find a travel size!
I did it just like the video with the exception of using a paper plate. I know that there were many comments that it is messy but for me…I found that it really was not that bad. Remember, I am SUPER SIMPLE….so mess and simple are not like Peanut Butter & Jelly!
Here is the stamp set I used….I will hang on to this one. I love the fact that it is a photopolymer but more than that – I adore the uniqueness of it and the sentiments -they are perfect and LOVE the font!
You can see how incredibly simple this layout and card is. Again, simple works (well at least in my camp or should I say, “my world”) and you cannot go wrong with clean and basic cuts….love our Stampin’ Trimmer!
The DSP is from the Urban Underground DSP and I admit….I was LATE getting out of the gate with using it but then…..I saw the light! This is one CLASSIC and FABULOUS DSP offering! (too bad it is sold out) but for those of you that have some….I say – WOOT-WOOT to you!
I just had to add that heart…I know that Leighton is a young man with a bright future ahead but I just had to add that heart to let him know that wherever he is….HE IS IN MY HEART!
I hope that this post made you see that you can take a stamp set and make it work for your needs. This is what is GREAT about what we do – we all see things with different glasses on. I knew that this was coming to Randall Lane because my “peeps” love to travel.
You need to get hoppin’….there is so much talent out there – be a HUGE SPONGE AND SOAK IT UP!
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Families First Pals Blog Hop for April 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are all about our families. This is a great time of year to think about what to make for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or upcoming graduations. And, family vacations are just around the corner… how would you want to remember those special family moments? We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
At first glance you might be saying…..WHAT THE HECK SUSAN? What does this have to do with families? Well, hang tight! My peeps are all grown and it is far and few that we get to be together…but let me tell you ~ when we do….TOTAL FUN (and yes, I still cry as they drive away)
When this stamp set came out, Layering Love… I knew that it was coming to Randall Lane. I simply adore sentiments and when they are BIG SENTIMENTS….I say a double whammy! The reason that I chose this card for this hop it that this simple sentiment, “live, laugh, love” are 3 words that sum up family to me!
I think that you will agree that the other sentiments in this stamp set are equally wonderful – a HOMERUN all the way around and the best thing – IT IS BEING CARRIED OVER into the NEW CATALOG….yippee! 🙂
If you follow my blog you already know that simple is me and I think that you can agree that this is a super simple card but the sentiments makes it have a BIG WOW. I would easily send this to a family member or dear friend after having a great time together. To me, it is all about the message…and live, laugh, love sums it up for me!
I know you have a bunch of hopping to do today as there are 30 of us on the hop…so I won’t keep you too long – Here is a quick scoop for you in case you want to case (you really do not need me as it is soooooo easy….but here you go!) The full line up of products used will be at the very end of the post.
- The Base is in the NEW THICK VERY VANILLA Card Stock – (did you let that SINK IN????) YEP, in the NEW catalog we will all be doing the happy dance with the THICK VANILLA! (I am so excited)
- The next layer of Very Vanilla (regular weight) is 4″ X 5 1/4″ and then run through the big shot with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder (that’s walking the plank 🙁 )
- The FUN POLKA DOT NEW PAPER is from the NEW CATALOG, and it is called Eastern Palace and truth be told because I do not have a bunch of this paper, so this is why I have a 1″ strip on the left edge but honestly – it does the trick!
- The Sentiment was stamped in the NEW TRANQUIL TIDE (super yummy color) and then cut out with the largest Stitched Circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Die (a must have…just sayin’ 😀 ) I also cut another one the same size in the NEW In Color and off set them a wee bit.
- Here is a tip because I am the FIRST TO ADMIT that this thin silver thread can be ONE HOT MESS to work with. After having many struggles….we came to terms and this is the EASIEST way I can tell you to do it. Ready…??? Just hold your hand out and wrap it around all 4 fingers (the width of your hand) several times – cut it and just press it into the adhesive that is already on your circle. Trust me…it is when you start fooling with it that you loose your crackers and get super frustrated 👿 ….Once we had an understanding…we are happy and I think that it adds a fun flair….how about you?
- The Dapper Denim Bakers Twine is from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit and I added a bow and secured it with a simple glue dot.
The envelope…same thing I do just about each and every day as I do love my envelopes….lovin’ your envelope makes the world happy!!! (well, in my world at least)….it’s like not making your bed in the morning – YIKES….my day would not be in order and that is how I feel about my envelopes!
I realize that this is a twist to our theme….but this makes me roll when I think of family…..I think that this is a perfect card that you can send many times to many different loved ones…because the way I feel about it is we all need to live, laugh & love more!
Now go be a bunny rabbit and HOP on….there are so many amazing ideas out there….take them all in and I thank you for POPPING into my little simple world…..
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring Spring or Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I don’t know about you but...I AM READY FOR SPRING! I can hardly wait to change those clocks this weekend and start to have longer days of sunshine!
I have been just itchin’ to continue to play with the White Craft Ink and today I am highlighting it with Daffodil Delight on Crumb Cake. Darn, trust me on this one – the picture simply does not do this justice – this is a beauty and it is oh so different.
Over the next 2 days, I will be blogging about this amazing bundle. I admit, it was not on my 1st order because I thought – I DO NOT NEED ONE MORE FLORAL STAMP SET…and it was not until I saw so many amazing projects and watched the Stampin’ Up! Video highlighting this amazing product that I HIT THAT PAW PRINT and bought it! It is super unique 😀
Enjoy the pictures and I hope that you will try this technique. You first stamp with the white craft ink but be careful – it does take some time to dry or you could speed it up with the heat tool and then go back over and stamp slightly off-set to give that shadow effect.
As I said above, the pictures just do not do this justice and if you see some areas on the stamp that do not look completely covered – that is how the stamp is supposed to be….it is a bit distressed giving it a very warm feel.
The Fruit Stand DSP has been a huge hit for me. I just adore the fun colors and the prints….fresh and unique. One thing that Stampin’ Up! knows how to do…..create fabulous DSP’s for us!
I know that it is hard to see…but I cut the daffodil delight ring and adhered it to the stamped piece. That is the other thing that is great about this bundle….you get 2 different sizes so cutting both of them together will give you a PRESTO – PERFECT RING!
It has been a while since I have used Crumb Cake but I must say, it gives an instant warmth and comfort. It’s fun to mix things up and try something different than you usually do.
In closing, I hop that SPRING is right around the corner where you live. I feel bad for the daffodils that are budding and then we get slammed with cold temperatures and then warm one – CRAZY! The poor flowers are just confused! 😕
You need to HOP ON because there is a BUNCH TO SEE….I hope that my fun post brought a little sunshine to your day. Yellow is a “HAPPY COLOR” to me….so THINK YELLOW and BE HAPPY! 🙂
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are CASE’ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration from which to choose. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
Today’s card I am CASE’ing from the Occasions Catalog from page 54…on the lower right corner! I took the liberty to tweak it a bit but I am just goo-goo over this bundle!
In the sample that is in the catalog you can see that they used this specialty paper to make a bag BUT the other reason that I chose this was the fact that I love that they have used the icons of the different suites to make the stamp set that I used, Suite Sentiments Stamp Set works for all of these bundles….BRILLIANT for Stampin’ Up! to do this!
‘
This is a super basic layout and the best thing is…you can get (2) cards out of one layout! Reason being…..you are cutting a triangle in half! The Watermelon Wonder was a 4″ X 5 1/4″ and then the DSP was 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″. Make sure that you cut the triangle separately BEFORE you adhere them together!
Did you notice the sprinkles? I ask you, do you own the Whisper White Ink Pad? – If not – YOU NEED IT…as it is one of those “secret weapons” that I agree that you will not use a bunch but when you need it – it is GREAT to have! This gave a very subtle look and feel before I stamped the sentiment over top!
If you follow my blog (I hope so) you know that I LOVE my envelopes! When there is a specialty paper, you use it sparingly and today…I think “I did it proud” This is such a fun and unique bundle that will go for years and years!
I scream…you scream – we all scream for ice cream!
You all have a BUNCH of hopping to do…..so go have FUN….there is always so much talent out there so be a huge sponge and take it all in.
Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!
