A Simple Warmth and Wonder Card!

IMG_3322

I am totally mixed with over loading you with Christmas ideas but then again I think that we are all going to be in a tailspin with having a shorter time between Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Today’s card was an inspiration I received from Pinterest and I loved the concept of using a negative for a focal point to a card!

Can you say EASY-PEASY!!! This is a card that truly uses minimal products and also to me at least, produces a classic WOW factor!

IMG_3318

Let’s go!

  • Using an all time favorite of mine, the Naturals White Card Stock making a vertical card, scoring it at the 5 ½” mark! I cut another piece at 4” X 5 ¼” to do a pop (this is not necessary but to me the layering is what gives this simple card a true and simple punch!)
  • Pulling out my main Croppin’ Man, Mr. Big Shot, I used the Circle Framelits to make the focal part of the card! (This was the 4th from the smallest) THIS IS ON SALE this week for just $20.21~

IMG_3320

  • The sentiment is short and sweet and it is a “Hostess Stamp Set” called Warmth and Wonder – this stamp set is only available when you are a hostess and it is just $10.00! I did use the stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement, after all – why would you go to the trouble in making a card, only to have the sentiment crooked!

  • Now to the envelope, making a matching envelope is a cinch with the envelope punch board! I love that I can use this paper to make my own envelope and then using the Seasons of Style Designer Series Paper to make a matching liner is the perfect finale to my card!

Well, what do you think? Isn’t this the sweetest card! I know that this simple card would warm anyone’s heart!

Please remember, you do not have to be “fussy” to get the message across! Reality is, we are all short of time and sometimes we need to find a simple yet classic style to get the job done!

Let’s touch on the “hostess thing”…do you feel that because I live in Maryland that you would not be able to have a function with me?

THAT IS NOT TRUE!

Please email me and I will be happy to get you a hostess code and you can collect orders from your family and friends and you will have a successful event and be able to order this “keeper” of a  hostess stamp set!

Please email me if you are interested in being in an “on line” Stamp Club! This way, you can be a hostess once a year or twice a year depending if I get 6 or 12 people and then I will send you a PDF with ideas “just for you” on that given month!

Taking turns on who is hostess, you will be able to reap the benefits for being part of the Club!

The end of the year means the beginning for new starts…

I am super excited to be able to offer to my blog more benefits and opportunities for you! In a million years, I would have never imagined that I would be blogging and I would be lovin’ what I do sooooo much!

IMG_3317

Simple, Fun and Festive!

IMG_3162

Today's card is as easy as 1-2-3!!! I wish you could see this in person as it is a super cute card and I simply do not think the pictures do it justice…..BUT – when you make it yourself…you will see 1st hand how easy and cute it is! HINT-HINT!!!

I am using once again the fun and affordable note card and envelopes in whisper white! I cannot stress enough how wonderful these are to have on hand! Not only is the size great 5” X 3 ½” but for just $5.95 to get 20 cards and envelopes – WOW…that works out to be less that .30 for both!

Using a very minimal amount of product, this card is a great one to use up scraps! You honestly would not have to do the layering of the white but I adore paper and think it adds a simple, yet elegant touch to the end result!

Here you go….ready for me to enable you!?!? Remember, you can click the SHOP NOW button while in your jammies and your goodies will come right to your door!

IMG_3163

  • Cut a piece of Whisper White to 4 ¾” X 3 ¼” and using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig…do a simple stamp of “Merry Christmas” in Real Red! This is from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set and the font is so fun and whimsical! YES – this set is ON SALE…just $12.57!!!

  • Are you wondering where those dear little ornaments came from? They were “carried over” and are still available…these holiday punches are super duper for a variety of projects – definitely an “A list” in my book!
  • Placing a tiny pearl will add the classic bling to this simple card! The pearls are another “must have” when card making – they are simple to use but they always create a wow effect!

IMG_3165

  • I feel like I have neglected the mailman lately…so before I cleaned my stamp and Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I stamped the sentiment on the back flap! Simple and cute!

IMG_3166

We are all getting ready for a busy week ahead with cooking and preparations for the Thanksgiving Holiday upon us…remember, the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Sale is only on until December 2nd….

Click the picture below and you will see all of the products on sale !!!

Click here and you will see the “carry over” Holiday products that are available…I think because Stampin’ Up! did not put them in the catalog, they get forgotten! There are some goodies there!

Happy Sunday to all! Did this card make you…

S M I L E…

I sure hope so as I think it is fun and when you hear the
story behind this card, you will be smiling as well! I always create cards that
are ones that I would send out and I usually create a card for a specific
reason…

Last Saturday night I was smiling from ear to ear! I wish
John would have been able to go but I relived the story to him and he too was
smiling! Our dear friends were in a dancing competition for a wonderful cause
in our local community!

The format was like the TV Show “Dancing with the Stars” but
hang on…here comes the“pulling of your heart strings”…it was the Dad and his
19 year old daughter! They were not only adorable; they were fantastic and just
seeing them together beaming in front of over 400 people was a sight and inner
feeling I will never forget!

So…this card is for Sandra. I have know Sandra since the day
she was born and my own daughter, Hannah and her are the same age and it has
been a joy and privilege to watch her grow into the beautiful, confident young
women she is!

Sorry for rambling but you know me, I love to tell my
stories of how I am inspired! Staying true to you I have used 2 of the 25% off
stamp set
and tomorrow is the last day of the special celebration!

IMG_2748

You know that it is “hip to be square” and today is no
different…so lets get to this fun card! Please try this technique and remember
that you can use all different types of framelits to use this concept!

  • The card size is a 5” square…love this size! The
base color is So Saffron and then I matted a piece of whisper white
  • Using the magnetic platform and the big shot cut
a square with the Square Framelits in the front of the card (this will be your window)… This platform is a
MUST HAVE product and it makes it so easy to keep the framlits in place!

  • I put a piece of white card stock on the inside
of the card and then with the card closed, use a pencil and lightly draw the
square – then find the center of the square as this will be your 1st
“smile” stamp and then you can do the top and bottom stamp!

IMG_2690

This stamp is from the Happy Day Stamp Set and it is a
keeper with the bold and fun sentiments! I just love the WOW impact it gives! From the 1st day I saw the new catalog…I knew that this stamp set would have a home on my shelf!

  • Taking a piece of So Saffron and taking the
square framelit the size of your window and then taking the one that is 2nd
larger than the window, make a square frame! You will see using the Magnetic
    Platform
    is a life saver!
  • Adhere that on the front of the card and I like using the Tombow
    multipurpose glue
(remember a little goes a long way) as if you do not get it
perfectly lined up the 1st time…you can wiggle it around a bit!

IMG_2751

  • Here comes the 2nd stamp set…Betsy’s
    Blossom
…this is a very versatile set and I encourage you to google this stamp
name and you will be amazed with how this can made for many different themes!

  • Using the Strawberry Slush and Gumball Green I
stamped the images and then using the BEST scissors in the whole wide world,
the paper snips, I did a quick “fussy cut”no stressing on perfection as this
is a work of art from YOU!

IMG_2750

I know you might be thinking, where do you write a message?
I signed the card underneath the smile portion so it would not show when you
looked at the card but I also put a piece of white on the back of the card to
write to Sandra to let her know how proud I am of her and her Dad!

  • Naturally I needed to do a bit of bling on the
outside and after doing this on the card several days ago, I had many positive
comments so I thought this would work well today! Hopefully you are smiling
now! The Stamp-a-ma-jig is your friend to do this!

IMG_2753

Remember that tomorrow is the very last day of the sale of
25% off on the 25 stamp sets! Hopefully you have been inspired on my showcases
this past week of these sets!

If you follow me regularly you know that my main goal is to
inspire you to reach out and try something different. We are all to hard on
ourselves and remember, there is no perfection…anything that you do is a gift
from YOU!!! Do not be so hard on yourself!

Please email me if you need any help and I will gladly help
you or if you need me to call you…I’ll be glad to do so!

Enjoy this day and please do not forget to S M I L E…as not
only is it contagious …it’s a free “feel good”!

Until tomorrow!

“Hello, Lovely”…you make me happy!

IMG_2720
WOOT-WOOT…it' Friday!!! As promised during the super stamp sale I am showcasing not 1…but 2 of the 25 different stamps that are specially priced just until Monday, the 28th!!!

You might think that this is a challenge…but I simply look at the offerings and say – this can go with that and then PRESTO…a fun card!

It is a great challenge to yourself when you go to create… simply allow yourself to use certain products and then go from there!

I knew that I was going to use these stamp sets, Oh, Hello and Hello, Lovely (say those 2 names fast)….but I wanted to use a color that I have not used lately and also something that could be a masculine card!

The Soho Subway Designer Series Paper spoke to me as I love the Island Indogo color and it would work perfectly with this card!

Here you go…let's get to it! I love the odd size of the card (kind of long and skinny) and having the fold on the left makes it a unique end result!

IMG_2718

  • The size of the finished card is 3 1/2" X 6" in Very Vanilla
  • The Island Indigo piece is 3 3/8" X 5 7/8" (and yes…save paper – pop out some punches!)
  • The Very Vanilla top piece is 3 1/8" X 5 5/8"
  • Now to the stampin' fun….you must have a ruler (helps a bunch) and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig...makes this a breeze to whip out!
  • I know this sounds like it is a lot of trouble to do…but trust me…if you do this and draw a pencil line you will save your self sooooo much frustration….so just do it!

IMG_2714

  • On a scrap of paper, simply stamp the sentiment image and again, I take a ruler to draw the exact line all the way around before I take it to the Stampin' trimmer! SOOOO easy!

IMG_2716

This is a great stamp set…so versatile….click here and see a card that I made that appears to be super hard but it is one of the easiest cards to do as you simply stamp on scrap paper then use the 1" punch!

  • A simple erase of the pencil lines and some Stampin' dimensionals on the back for a quick POP and BAM….it's one great looking card…and soooo easy!

IMG_2722

  •  I made the envelope with the Envelope Punch Board …so easy to just look at the chart – find the size of card you have – BAM…it will tell you how big of a piece you will need to cut – punch-score-fold-adhere-DONE!!!

IMG_2725

  • I often get asked about how do you line an envelope with the Envelope Punch Board…easy – watch my wonderful upline, Mary Fish's video….click here and you will see how easy it is to do!!! You will do every envelope this way!

It has turned very brisk here on the East Coast and I am loving it! The only thing is…we know what's around the corner! Hopefully you have some fun Fall plans for the weekend!

Many thanks to all of you that continue to ask and email me about how John is doing….he is doing great, getting stronger each day and is now doing physical therapy 3 X's a week!

Don't forget about the adhesive bundle that can be yours with order any of the 25% Anniversary Stamps!!! We all need, love and use adhesives so I thought this would be something practical for everyone!'

Have a great day…please spread the word about Simple Stampin'…we all know word of mouth is the best advertisement we can give!

You're gonna love tomorrow's card…it feels and looks like fall!

Until tomorrow!

“Gently Falling” in a “Fabulous” way!

IMG_2546
I am doing it again….something in 3's! It just simple works….odd numbers work with cards….they work with flowers…they just seem to work!

I adore Fall and even though in the East we have been soooo dry, the leaves are falling fast! I do not think we will see this vibrant colors that we usually do…but to me – it does not matter – I simply adore this time of year! Over the past 3 days we have also been in 3's again …rain – rain & more rain! (we needed it)

I hope that this card warms your heart and encourages you to either pull out your Gently Falling Stamp Set or to order it…as it's a keeper! I was soooo happy that they carried it over from the previous years catalog!

Gently Falling Clear-Mount Stamp Set

You know that I love odd size cards and now that we have the Envelope Punch Board...the sky is the limit! This card size is 4 X 6 and it is fun! You can make sooo many different envelope sizes that all I can say is…have fun!!!!

Remember yesterday when I pulled out that simple ruler? Well, I did it again today because a ruler and an eraser are like "peanut butter and jelly"…we all have simple tools and tricks that make us look WOW!

To me, the easiest way is to take another piece of Very Vanilla at the same size….4 X 6 and then find the center point….make a faint pencil line for your center mark! Easy…right????

IMG_2542

Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get the perfect placement….stamp your center image….and then work outwards to the sides! I simply would not make cards without this tool!

After I did this…I then Cut the Very Vanilla piece down to a 3 3/4" X 5 3/4" to make it even….THEN I matted it with a piece of Early Espresso cut at  3 7/8" X 5 7/8"….a perfect fit!!!

You know me by now….when I have a big piece of paper like this that is simply going to be covered over by another piece of paper….I NEED TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT!!!!

Look at the picture below and see how I was able to "save" some paper to use for a later card!

IMG_2539

Cutting pieces like this is another reason why you NEED the Stampin' Trimmer….it is simply the best and is truly a time-saver and a life-saver! Being able to make exact cuts time and time again it key!

Stampin' Trimmer

The colors that I used in today's cards are: Early Espresson, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Crushed Curry….perfect colors of Fall!

LOVE this sentiment! It is from the Million & One Stamp Set and it is a winner! It is just 2 stamps but the stamps have powerful sentiments! I knew from the minute I saw this set in the catalog that it was coming to my home!

Million & One

Using the deep color of Early Espresso for the sentiment made it pop and hold center stage!

I used stampin' dimensionals to give the base a good lift….these truly makes such a difference when you are highlighting a focal point!

This is a card that can be made over and over again with some simple changes here and there! Another keeper for you to use now and in the future!

IMG_2544

To the envelope we go….SIMPLE today! Just a quick Stamp and then a "stamp off" is all that is needed with this bold and fun card!

Here you go again….less is best!

IMG_2540
I hope that this card has put you in the fall mood! Have a great day….make some memories and remember that I am an email away if I can help you…inspire you…or answer any questions you might have about Stampin' Up!

As I always end my post….Until tomorrow!

“Halloween Hello”…easy as 1-2-3!!!

IMG_2532

Quick, fun, easy, duplicatable…this is one "Wham Bam…Thank You Maam" card! Stampin' Up! usually has "small" stamps in many of the Stamp Sets that they offer…and when you see one – I hope the "light-bulb" goes off for you to use this layout!

By now if you follow me, you have heard me say endless times…when you find a layout that WORKS…save it for later and change up the stamp and sentiment and BAM – you are good to go!

This card, I would suggest that you make up a template for the square part…keep it somewhere that you can go to easily and WOOT-WOOT….a card in a jif!

Sorry the pictures are not the best today…but I think that you will get the idea!

The card is using the Note Card & Envelopes….what a bargain – 20 Cards and Envelopes for just $5.95!!! I adore the smaller size as a 3 1/2" X 5" card is a perfect size!

The 1" square punch is the must have tool for this card!

Here is my 1st tip….take another piece of white paper and cut it to 3 1/2 x 5 and then find the center and the measure down 1" (as that is the depth of your square punch) This is a HUGE help to making a template and then you will trim off a bit from the sides to make is smaller for the effect of the final card!

IMG_2526

After this…I take my "template" over top of my note card and draw 3 of the squares on the card to make my stamping easy! It is sooooo much easier to do this from the start, use your stamp-a-ma- jig and get it perfect…a simple erase of the pencil and YOU ARE GOOD TO GO!

IMG_2527

IMG_2528

The stamp set that I used was from the Holiday Catalog and it is still not too late to order Halloween Stamps but CLICK my shop now button and "get on it" so you can make some cute cards and projects! It is called Halloween Hello and I have used it a bunch on my blog!

Halloween Hello Clear-mount Stamp Set

Everything else is a breeze! Again, use your Stamp-A-ma-jig to place the sentiment….it would be sooo darn silly to do this cute and fun card to have a crooked sentiment!

The Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set always comes to the rescue for the perfect short sentiment! An "A list" set to have!!!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Clear-Mount Stamp Set

Stampin Dimensionals are also the key element to a card like this….it is great to use up all of the "extras" that are around the dimensionals…WE DO NOT WASTE A THING!!! What would we do without these gems!

IMG_2537

Another tip….I always use the Black Stazon Ink! Why? Just love the clean and crisp image it produces but  please note that you need to use the StazOn Cleaner when you use this ink….no big deal – it is important to keep your stamps clean and conditioned properly!

IMG_2536

I know that it is super hard to see….but I did use the liner from the Witches Brew Designer Series Paper….using the Big Shot and the Envelope Framelit is the finishing touch!

This card really is super cute in person, sometimes pictures just do not do justice! Please CASE this layout and have fun! If you do….please send me your card – I would love to see it!
