“just for you”…super sweet!

IMG_3326

I wish that you could see me when you open up this post as I have a BIG smile sharing this super cute card with you today as I call this a “Susan kind of card”!!!

Have you ever sat down and thought, I just want to do something so simple, yet so fun and be able to make “multitudes”!?!? Well…today’s post is for you!

Let’s take a dive right into this super easy and adorable card!

IMG_3324

  • I am going in “reverse” today and start with the envelope! You know by now that I absolutely love the note-card size of 3 ½” X 5” and Stampin’ Up! has this size in the Crumb Cake color! Better yet, it is on SALE …just until tomorrow! 40 cards for just $3.85 is WOWZERS!
  • The liner was a cinch and I thought the stripes were very fun and whimsical for this card – it is from the Season of Style Paper Stack Pack and that has been a HOME RUN this season – with the help of the envelope liner framelit and Mr. Big Shot – this envelope came together in a snap! You can line (2) envelopes with one piece of paper….I say WOOT-WOOT!

  • Let’s get to the card! A sheet of paper will produce you (2) cards with scraps left over for other projects! The finished size of the card is 3 ½” X 5”

IMG_3329

  • Stamp these adorable guys with Black Staz On Ink cause we are going to have fun with the Aqua Painters! To me, water coloring is one of these things that you simply get better the more that you do it! I have always marveled over stampers that “master” . The ink colors I used were Cherry Cobble, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and that dear little nose in Pumpkin Pie (how appropriate it at this time of year!)

IMG_3328

  • The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes and if you do not have this stamp set, you need to hit the SHOP NOW button right now and get it! This is definitely on my “A list” of stamps to have! These simple 3 words are perfect with these 2 little guys!

  • Did you notice that I cut another framelit in Old Olive the same size and cut it in half before matting it to the image and then used the next size larger and used the Stampin Chalk Marker to “dot” around for the WOW factor – so simple…so effective…so wow!

A Simple Warmth and Wonder Card!

IMG_3322

I am totally mixed with over loading you with Christmas ideas but then again I think that we are all going to be in a tailspin with having a shorter time between Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Today’s card was an inspiration I received from Pinterest and I loved the concept of using a negative for a focal point to a card!

Can you say EASY-PEASY!!! This is a card that truly uses minimal products and also to me at least, produces a classic WOW factor!

IMG_3318

Let’s go!

  • Using an all time favorite of mine, the Naturals White Card Stock making a vertical card, scoring it at the 5 ½” mark! I cut another piece at 4” X 5 ¼” to do a pop (this is not necessary but to me the layering is what gives this simple card a true and simple punch!)
  • Pulling out my main Croppin’ Man, Mr. Big Shot, I used the Circle Framelits to make the focal part of the card! (This was the 4th from the smallest) THIS IS ON SALE this week for just $20.21~

IMG_3320

  • The sentiment is short and sweet and it is a “Hostess Stamp Set” called Warmth and Wonder – this stamp set is only available when you are a hostess and it is just $10.00! I did use the stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement, after all – why would you go to the trouble in making a card, only to have the sentiment crooked!

  • Now to the envelope, making a matching envelope is a cinch with the envelope punch board! I love that I can use this paper to make my own envelope and then using the Seasons of Style Designer Series Paper to make a matching liner is the perfect finale to my card!

Well, what do you think? Isn’t this the sweetest card! I know that this simple card would warm anyone’s heart!

Please remember, you do not have to be “fussy” to get the message across! Reality is, we are all short of time and sometimes we need to find a simple yet classic style to get the job done!

Let’s touch on the “hostess thing”…do you feel that because I live in Maryland that you would not be able to have a function with me?

THAT IS NOT TRUE!

Please email me and I will be happy to get you a hostess code and you can collect orders from your family and friends and you will have a successful event and be able to order this “keeper” of a  hostess stamp set!

Please email me if you are interested in being in an “on line” Stamp Club! This way, you can be a hostess once a year or twice a year depending if I get 6 or 12 people and then I will send you a PDF with ideas “just for you” on that given month!

Taking turns on who is hostess, you will be able to reap the benefits for being part of the Club!

The end of the year means the beginning for new starts…

I am super excited to be able to offer to my blog more benefits and opportunities for you! In a million years, I would have never imagined that I would be blogging and I would be lovin’ what I do sooooo much!

IMG_3317

In this season of Thanksgiving, I thank YOU for your support and growth of my Stampin’ Up! fun!

I truly would love for YOU to hop on the PALS train and be part of this fun! Please email me and I will be happy to call you and chat about how fun it is and also answer any questions you might have!

Have a great day, make lots of memories if you have family still at you home….and

Until tomorrow!

4 weeks…but who is counting!

IMG_3208

I know that this card will bring a smile to your face! Can you believe that Christmas Day is just 4 short weeks away! This festive card comes together very fast and it would be a great card to make many of!

The way I look at it is….if you are already cutting…why not keep cutting!!! The color combinations are endless and this is one of those “keeper” layouts that can be used over and over with different stamps!

Think about how beautiful it would be with flowers in the center! I did use the “insides” of the squares to save paper and stampin’ dimensionals are the fun pop factor!

Here you go! I had that pencil and ruler handy to give you the measurements, as I know this makes you smile! CASE away and please, send me pictures of your creations! I truly love to see what you’re up to!

IMG_3207

  • The Card Base is a 5” X 5” square card. Cut the next layer at 4 7/8” square (this step could be eliminated but I do adore the white on white effect!

IMG_3212

  • The center stage snowflake is from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and great news – this comes as a bundle so you can save 15% right off the bat! I say WOOT-WOOT!!!

TIP ALERT: many people say that they have a hard time getting the pearls off…simply take the end of your paper snips or use your paper piercing tool to gently lift the pearl and adhesive up! It just take time and patience!

IMG_3211

Have fun making this card….it’s a keeper one and one that I know you will make over and over! Please email me if you have any questions and please continue to tell your family and friends about my blog!

Tomorrow’s the big day! Are you ready?

I started to get a bit nervous but then realized that it is not worth it! All that matters is that we as a family are together! I am ready – I am just an over achiever!

Have a great day…make a list to help you make sure you have not forgot anything for Thanksgiving Day and be thankful for all that we are able do and thankful for your family, friends and health….one thing I know for sure is…

I am thankful for you!

Until tomorrow!

Homemade with love…with…Friendship Preserves!

IMG_3176
Happy Monday everyone! Brrrrrr….it is super cold on the East Coast and the wind yesterday was just bitter! The calendar is flipping way to fast and this week is going to ZOOM!

I have been trying to get all of my posts in order so when my “peeps” come home this week I can enjoy and cherish the time with them!

This is the 1st year in 5 years that my oldest son has been home for Thanksgiving as he has lived in China and he is super excited to have all of his favorite Thanksgiving foods…I have been trying to stock up on everyone’s favorites…

Images

Let’s get some yummy comments going – what is your “must have” foods on Thanksgiving?…leave me a comment with your top 3 choices cause’ let’s face it…we don’t have just 1…here’s my must haves!

  1. Mashed Sweet Potato with Marshmallows
  2. Pork and Sauerkraut
  3. Pumpkin Pie

O.k. – I am sure that many of you are not familiar with #2 and/or many of you probably do not like it but let me tell you…there is nothing like Pork & Sauerkraut – love it….yummers as I say – can’t wait!!!

Let’s get to today’s post as the saying is perfect for today conversation of our favorite Thanksgiving foods!

YUM…homemade from the heart!

This stamp is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and yes, true to my challenge of showcasing products that are on the wonderful Holiday Sale…this is one of them!

IMG_3178

One thing that I do every year for several families…I make Fresh Coconut Cakes and Carrot Cakes… they are my trademark favorites with my friends – and I alternate each year which one they get…I thought that this would be a super cute card to tie on the box of love!

I always use those great White Boxes for Cakes…tie a beautiful wide ribbon bow and this will be perfect to tie on the box with a heartfelt note!!!

Sorry I rambling today – here’s the scoop!

  • The Card is a 4 X 4 card…and the designer series paper is from the Season of Style, the size is  3 3/4" square! I adore this and actually just had to order more…I love it and have been making so many projects with it!
  • I stamped the image twice, once in Cherry Cobbler and the other in Old Olive and then using the BEST little scissors in the world, paper snips to cut out the YUM! Popping it up with some stampin’ dimensionals…the fun is happening!

IMG_3177

  • This Stamp Set coordinates with the Window Framelits and since the Festive Paper Piercing Pack is also on sale…the “Peanut and Butter” thing is happening again!

  • I “poked” every 3 holes…isn’t it amazing that something so simple can be so effective! Stampin Up! is offering this as a bundle on the super sale – you can purchase the stamp set and the piercing pack for just $17.43….I say WOOT-WOOT!

IMG_3174

That's it – easy-peasy…

simple little tricks to make a simple card  =

making someone simply smile…

(now say that phrase 3 x’s)

IMG_3171

Handmade gifts to me are the best! I hope that I have inspired you to make your own special cards when you give gifts of love to your family and friends!

This is a exciting and special week…I have lots of great goodies for you all week long! Let's have a great week together! Thanks for popping by and I thank you on this week of giving thanks for popping by, and continuing to inspire me each and everyday to do the things i love to do!

Until tomorrow!!!

Simple, Fun and Festive!

IMG_3162

Today's card is as easy as 1-2-3!!! I wish you could see this in person as it is a super cute card and I simply do not think the pictures do it justice…..BUT – when you make it yourself…you will see 1st hand how easy and cute it is! HINT-HINT!!!

I am using once again the fun and affordable note card and envelopes in whisper white! I cannot stress enough how wonderful these are to have on hand! Not only is the size great 5” X 3 ½” but for just $5.95 to get 20 cards and envelopes – WOW…that works out to be less that .30 for both!

Using a very minimal amount of product, this card is a great one to use up scraps! You honestly would not have to do the layering of the white but I adore paper and think it adds a simple, yet elegant touch to the end result!

Here you go….ready for me to enable you!?!? Remember, you can click the SHOP NOW button while in your jammies and your goodies will come right to your door!

IMG_3163

  • Cut a piece of Whisper White to 4 ¾” X 3 ¼” and using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig…do a simple stamp of “Merry Christmas” in Real Red! This is from the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set and the font is so fun and whimsical! YES – this set is ON SALE…just $12.57!!!

  • Are you wondering where those dear little ornaments came from? They were “carried over” and are still available…these holiday punches are super duper for a variety of projects – definitely an “A list” in my book!
  • Placing a tiny pearl will add the classic bling to this simple card! The pearls are another “must have” when card making – they are simple to use but they always create a wow effect!

IMG_3165

  • I feel like I have neglected the mailman lately…so before I cleaned my stamp and Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I stamped the sentiment on the back flap! Simple and cute!

IMG_3166

We are all getting ready for a busy week ahead with cooking and preparations for the Thanksgiving Holiday upon us…remember, the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Sale is only on until December 2nd….

Click the picture below and you will see all of the products on sale !!!

Click here and you will see the “carry over” Holiday products that are available…I think because Stampin’ Up! did not put them in the catalog, they get forgotten! There are some goodies there!

IMG_3164

It’s always great to get a card…”just because”

IMG_3097

I am a “Happy Stamper” as I have shown you 2 very simple yet WOW cards (in my opinion) yesterday and today! I made this style of a card months ago with a “Thank You” sentiment!

Do you remember that I have shared with you…when you find a style and a layout that works for you…keep it fresh and handy for you to switch up the paper, the sentiment and BINGO-BANGO – you have a new card!

Why do we always want to reinvent the wheel…go with what feels good to you and you’ll be happy! I tried to find the original You Tube Video that I saw this on and I looked and looked with no luck!

Before we go any further….I need to say a BIG WOOT-WOOT to MaryAnn H. for winning the bundle of Thanksgiving Fun from my post on Saturday – click here to see it…..MaryAnn – I will pop in the mail to you today the 8 bags with the decorations for YOU! Thank YOU for popping onto my blog!!!!

IMG_3051

Guess you’ll get stuck with my pictures and tips!!! Here you go…have fun with it and please share with me any cards you do making this! It is fun, easy, uses minimal products and can go with so many different themes!

  • The base is Chocolate Chip an A-2 size but I scored it at the 5 ½” side and the Very Vanilla is 4” X 5 ¼”
  • The Tangerine Tango Squares are a simple 2 ½” square…you can see – no wasting paper for me!!! I used a punch to take full advantage of saving scraps!

IMG_3093

  • The other squares are (4) of each pattern 1 1/4" in size and they are from the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper…(This card is sooooo easy – it scary!!!!)
  • Your best friend will be the grid paper!I used to think that it was only for Demonstrators ….silly me!

  • I think I have had the same pad of grid paper since I started SU….I have a piece of plexi-glass over top of it so it very rarely needs replaced and I will say I use it a ton from measuring and lining things up! Just line up the 2 squares and adhere them together!

IMG_3094

  • After I adhere them together I put this on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet. I thought that thiswas a gimmick but it is a LIFESAVER and I highly reccomend you have one….WHY? = easy….when you glue or use a hot glue gun…your work will peel right off – LOVE IT!!!

IMG_3096

  • Next – the little squares! I recommend that you use Tombo glue on it as it will allow you to “wiggle” them around before it “sets” up! TIP: to the very top square do not put adhesive on the outer area as once you bring that last square down, you will need to place the top on over it…(then put a little squeeze of glue)

  • Sentiment time…If you do not have this stamp set, hit the Shop Now button and give yourself a gift as you need this stamp set! The sentiments are super and the fonts are “spot on”!!! It is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and the sentiment of “just because” is perfect!

IMG_3103

  • After I have stamped the sentiment, I then put Stampin Dimensionals around the focal part and then covered the “hole” on the Very Vanilla piece! A simple Neutral Candy Dot was the simple finishing touch to the card!

IMG_3100

  • Envelope time – you know…the envelope liner framelit did the trick…again!!! That’s it…now get your supplies out and make this card!!!

IMG_3099

Now wasn't that fun and easy! I hope your head is spinning thinking of color combinations etc…to me – this is PERFECT just the way it is to send to family and friends letting them know that you are thinking of them "just because"!!!

I thank you for popping by today and please share my blog with your family and friends! It is my passion and goal to inspire you to create works of art from your heart! I am with you if you need help…please feel free to email me!

Tomorrow is "hump day" and it is a Christmas Card day…..you will smile!!!

Until tomorrow…..
