by Susan Itell | Oct 26, 2013 | Fall Cards, Thank You |

It is absolutly beautiful on the East Coast! There is a sharp crisp to the air but I just love to see nature in all of it's glory! This is a super fun card to make as the end result will surely put a smile to your face!
Holding true to my word, I am showing another 2 stamp sets that are on the 25% off list of 25 just until Monday and both of these are on my "A list"!
Gently Falling was probably one of my 1st stamp sets I bought as a customer (I was a professional customer before taking the plunge to be a Demonstrator) and it truly is my go-to for the fall!
I can remember the night I ordered it…I thought – I cannot believe I spent that much on a stamp set but I will say…everytime I use it, I think of that and I smile as it has paid for itself over and over and now you can get it for just $21.71 – trust me – you will not regret it!

Let's get to the fun as I truly hope that you will make this card – have fun switching up the colors…it is a different technique than I usually do but it is so fun and I always get rave reviews when I send this card!
I have lots of pictures for you so get ready to have fun!
- The base of the card is Very Vanilla and I cut
the paper at the 4 1/4'” side and then scored it at 5 ½”
- The Cherry Cobbler piece is 3 7/8” X 4 7/8”
- The Crushed Curry is 3 5/8” X 4 5/8”
- The Very Vanilla is 3 ½” X 4 ½”
Now you know what I am going to say about this paper…USE THE
INSIDES TO SAVE PAPER!!! Works like a charm every time!

Look at what I am able to save and make for other cards…remember
the card with the 3 butterflies…from making just 2 of these cards today…I have
enough butterflies to make 7 of those cards…you know what I say…WOOT-WOOT!!!
- The colors of ink I used for today’s card are…Soft
Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Sahara Sand
- Ink your stamps up and have fun!!! Always do the
outer image stamp 1st, then go over it with the one that has more
coverage!
TIP ALERT: I always try to keep my stamp sets well inked up…I
stamped off on a piece of scratch paper before I did the 2nd stamp
set so it was not too dark!
- Randomly stamp however your heart’s desire and
then get ready to have fun! Please make sure that you “stamp off” the edges so
it looks very random!
- After stamping, take out the Simply Scored and
let’s have some fun! All you do is simply take the stylus and run it down in both
directions a ½” intervals…easy-peasy and the POP will happen next!
- Take a stampin’ sponge and lightly ink it up
with the Sahara Sand and in a circular motion, gently add color…so rich, so
fun!

- Adhere this to the Crushed Curry and then put Stampin Dimensionals to this piece but
before adhering it…I put a couple of pop dots on the back to “anchor” the Soft Suede
ribbon to the back and then tied it is a simple knot! Here is a good close up look at the fun!

- Let's get to the sentiment! This is one of the 25% off stamp sets, Lots of Thanks, and trust me -I have been using this a bunch as I have had many thank you notes over the past several months!

- Simply stamp the Thank You (I masked off the bottom portion) and then use up a scrap piece of paper and then a simple mat – done!

- The finale' for the mailman…stampin' the front of the envelope! So easy…just remember before you clean you stamps to use them again – you will surely smile!

I truly hope that you will CASE this card and have fun! It's a beauty and it's a card that you could easily change the sentiment for a "think of you"…."happy birthday" etc….
Enjoy your day, please subsribe to my blog to get daily doses of inspiration and do not forget that the stamp sale ends on Monday!
If I can help….please email me! I love helping you reach your goals!
Until tomorrow

Ok…I know…I know – I have been doing lots of fall cards but after all – it is Fall and it is my favorite time of the year! We had an absolutely beautiful day yesterday and it was wonderful to carve pumpkins…take in the fresh and crisp air that the season brings!
Now how about this card for a clean and simple card! This is a “Susan
style of card” and I love everything about it! You all know by now that I adore
the Note card Size of Cards!
Do you know what color this is…I am sure many are saying Sahara Sand….
but it is something that I would put a pretty good bet on that you do not use!
It is a “sleeper” in the catalog in my opinion but remember I shared it
with you several posts again in the white? This paper is called the Naturals
Ivory Paper! Love the little “flicks” in it!

Let’s get to the fun! This is a classic example of this being a great
card to of making a bunch of cards with this simple and very duplicatable
layout….
- I used the base of the Card in the note card size on Always Artichoke
in the 5” X 3 ½”
- Using the Gently Falling Stamp I first stamped the Always Artichoke and
then the Sahara Sand on either side!

- With the help of my fun tool….the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig I lined up the sentiment which is from
the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set…(love it!)

Now
to this point – you can definitely agree with me… this is one super easy and one super straightforward card!

Can
you see how cutting all of the paper…then stamping all of the images…it is a
breeze to make a bunch of!
Now
to the envelope! Again…you know me well enough…it needs to match my card…after
all – first impressions are key!

- Using the Naturals Ivory Paper and cut it to the size that the Envelope
Punch Board guided me to do….cut a 7 ¼” square! This tool is the must have tool
of the year and being under $20.00 – I say….woot-woot!

- I need to make the mailman smile so today I did a double whammy! I
stamped the leaf and sentiment on the front and then I also lined the back flap
with the Regals Designer Series Paper Stacks!
Cute,
fun & done! I was tickled with this card and again, this is a layout that
you can use over and over again…. think about with flowers…. think about with
ornaments…super cute – right!!!

I
great tip I can give you with a card like this is…make up an extra one for you
to have for the future – put a post it note on the inside with the dimensions
sizes that I have given you…why take you time in measuring!
I
hope that you have enjoyed today’s card and I hope that you CASE away with it!
It’s a keeper and I know whomever receives it will be super happy!

Today
is the last day that you can take advantage of the $25.00 Starter Kit! The

Remember how I have been showing you how to save your paper and making "cuts" with paper that it going to be matted and not shown? Well today's post is "left overs" that are from when I made the "thank you's" for my friends… several posts ago…click here to see it! Because I made so many of these card – I was able to cut a top note from each of the Soft Suede paper!

This
is a super fun and easy box that is not only functional…it will put a huge
smile on someone’s face! You could put many things in these gems…candy, a gift
card, a deck of cards, a note…just use your imagination!

To
make the box part…you can get (2) from one sheet of paper!
- Cut your paper at 8” X 5 ½ “
- Score on the 8” side at 1”, 3 ½”, 4 1/2” and 7”
- Score on the 5 ½” side at 1” on both ends
- Fold in…( I like to use the bone folder for crisp edges) and cut in to the 1" line as shown!

- This next step is easy…you will cut completely off 1 piece…look at the picture below!

- I recommend that you use Sticky Strip! I say this as I feel it is the best choice of adhesive for 3-D projects! You will only be placing sticky strip on that short side (see picture below) This is a good picture that will show you the "cut off" piece and how you build the "sides" to your box!

- How are you doing? Hang in there – this is really easy and you will be making these a bunch! After you adhere the box together I took the 1" circle punch and did a quick snip! I think it makes it easier to open the box!

- Now to attaching the attaching of the Top Notes! I do put sticky strip on the top and bottom of the box but I start with the bottom. Peel off the red tape and position the "box" on top!

- Last step…I suggest that you lean over and it is super easy to get the "top" – "top note" centered over the box! BAM you did it!!! I say Woot-Woot to you!

Now lets get to the fun part since we have mastered the mechanics of
the box making!
I cut another Top Note from Very Vanilla and then I cut if a bit
smaller simply using the perforated lines as my guide! SOOOOO easy!
Using the Tangerine Tango ink…I inked up the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp and
then “stamped it off” on a piece of computer paper before stamping on the top
note…I wanted a fainter stamp!

Using one of my favorite Fall stamps, out came the Magnificent Maple
Stamp and I inked it up with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive ( a
perfect trio of fall colors)

Lastly with the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement I
stamped the sentiment that came from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set!

Is this just soooo cute! What did I put inside….yummers! I put nuggets but I did something fun and super easy! Using address labels I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp and then stamped the sentiment of "thanks"! Isn't this just the cutest!
The label fits perfectly and you do not have to worry about an adhesive! Woot-Woot!

Just think of the endless ideas you could do with this concept..a simple change of paper color and stamps…presto – you have a great gift! Please share with me if you make any of these! I just love them and they are always a hit!
We have been sooooo lucky to have wonderful friends make us yummy meals while John has been laid up…and I have been sending these out with a thank you note! They love them!

Please let me know what you think about these! They are super easy to make and if you need any help, please feel free to email me!
There have been sooooo many things going on with Stampin' Up! over the past weeks, I find it hard to take it all in! Tomorrow is the last day for you to take advantage of the $25.00 starter kit!
If that wasn't good enough….on the 22nd (Tuesday) they are unveiling 25 stamp sets that will be 25% off for 1 week!!! A HUGE woot-woot….as if you sign up to be a hobbiest demonstrator, you will be able to take the 25% anniversary discount on the stamp sets that will be on sale…PLUS your first order discount of 30% more!
Let's talk…I would love for you be having fun with me!
Until tomorrow!

I say "WOOT-WOOT" as today is my 250th post on blogging! I know that this might be hard for you all to "take in" but I will say 1st it is a joy and 2nd is does take time! This sentiment says it all and it is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set…simply…
"I can't thank you enough"
This stamp set is not only fun but the sentiments are simply wonderful…one that should be an "A list" on your collection of stamps!
Another thing that is super is that this comes in a bundle that will save you 15% right away! (At the end I will share with you how you can also save an additional 30% off of this bundle)

I did it again, I changed my mind on today's card! I had many comments and emails about yesterdays post and asking how time consuming it was….and it was a snap!
As I was going through looking at the other Pals Paper Art Challenges and I went to fellow PAL Margaret Moody's blog to see her incredible work…I scrolled though her blog and I saw her post on a Christmas Card she did using a Mosaic Theme!
Margaret is so talented and her post brought back so many wonderful memories of when I scrap-booked a ton….and using 3" X 3" squares on 12 x 12 pages was my "go to" layout!
As I was driving home from work, I was taking in all of the beautiful colors I saw…Autumn is magical to me and I wanted to not only use the colors I saw but I wanted to share with you how darn tootin' easy it is!
Here you go….make sure you go to the end of my blog to win a chance to win the "Blog Candy"…my thanks to you!
The card size is a 5 1/2" square…(you know me – I like fun and odd sizes) and this was super easy to do with the right tools!
A ruler and the 1" square punch are key products to make this a cinch! The colors I used are what I viewed on my drive home…Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Always Artichoke and Baked Brown Sugar! Easy-peasy…do not stress – you can do it…I know you can cause' you'll have me to help you if you need it!

After cutting my paper, I simply took the ruler and made a pencil line to the center…lined up the middle one and then go to the sides! Don't stress…it is easy!

TIP ALERT: The adhesive to use is the Tombow Liquid Glue…not only is it super affordable , but it is super strong and you can "wiggle" it a bit once you put it on to keep them straight – but make sure you remember – a little goes a LONG way = less it best!
After doing the squares…as we all know, "It's hip to be square" on came the simple yet heartfelt sentiment! It sums it all up….just love it!

Going to another "A list" for me this Fall, the Best of Autumn…this clean and classic leaf is all this card needed! It is super easy to "fussy cut" out and remember…..turn your paper (image)…not your hand and work from the back of your paper snips!

Let's get to the envelope so we can get to the blog candy! The envelope came to life with the Envelope Punch Board, – this tool is on the edge of being back ordered so if you do not have it….click my SHOP NOW button and add it to your cart!

I chose to line the outer flap with the fall color of Cajun Craze but then I knew the front of the envelope was the center stage for the mail man!

Now to the fun…..BLOG CANDY!!! I have 2 different chances for you to win some goodies from me!
Get your thinking cap on for the 1st one….and it will be for the 1st person to get it correct…. and the 2nd one is for the blog candy below in the picture, and that will be a random drawn number from the comments!

- Chance #1 – Tell me the "odd" color of the colors I used in today's card and why it is odd and I will happily send you 2 packs of stampin' vitamins, the good old Stampin' Dimensionals!
- Chance #2 – Share with me why you love Fall…think about it…maybe it is your favorite childhood memory, maybe it's the weather, maybe is a certain tradition…..please share!
Since it is Friday and maybe you are super busy….on Saturday at noon, I will take all of the comments and emails posted on this post and do a random pick and send you the goodies above I made! I will announce the winner on Sunday's post!
This is my thanks to you for being so special and supportive to me and my blog!
Now….how to get that bundle for an additional 30% off – click here and see all of the super promotions going on….this has been such an exciting week!
Starting on October 7th,you can for just $25.00 become a SU hobby demonstrator! The calendar is flipping…the 7th is Monday and this is only good for 2 weeks…ending Monday, October 21st!
On your 1st order…you will get an additional 30% off and the best news is….you will be a part of my team…and your will also be a PAL, a part of Mary Fish's team!
You all know by now that I am fun, passionate, dedicated and I truly love helping you reach out of your comfort zone and show you how YOU CAN DO IT!
It is a great way to get some shopping down, a great way to finally do something for YOU and I can honestly say that this is the best decision I have ever made! I just love all of the relationships I have made….and how much I have learned about card making and fun projects…wow!
If you decide that all you want to do is get a BIG discount….that's fine….I'll be here and I hope that you will be here to! Live by Stampin' Ups! motto of doing it YOU WAY! No penalties, no pressures!
I'm not going anywhere…I love what I do and I love helping you!
Please email me and let's talk – I would love to work with you and inspire you!
Please leave me a comment of your Fall Favorite and good luck! Thank you soooooo much for celebrating my 250th blog post today! It is a special milestone for me and I am still "pinching myself" that I am actually doing this!
Until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Sep 22, 2013 | Fall Cards, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Thank You |

Wow…I am getting my fill of thank you cards to send out!
Today’s post is using the Note Card size of cards ( 5” x 31/2”) and they do
come with matching envelopes…and the best thing is that this is not only super affordable
as the come in packages of 20 for
just $5.95!!!
Why do I love and promote these so much – easy…they are
already cut…they are already scored…they come with envelopes and the size is
super sweet to write a quick note! I say click here and order a set or 2 – you’ll
love them!

This stamp set is so simple and beautiful all at the same time! It is
call "Too Kind" and the trick to remember is…stamp the lighter color
1st (and it will be the larger of the stamps) and then go back with a
darker color (and now it will be the smaller one) I have not used this set for a while and it was the
sentiment that spoke to me for today's inspiration!

This card came together in a snap because I had the right
tools right in front of me! This is sooooo darn key, again getting back to that
time thing we all need…the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig was the fast and furious tool to make
this card happen! Love this tool and if I lost mine…I would be sad!

For some strange reason, I do not seem to used the color of
Cajun Craze until the fall…and even though it is flowers…I used my Color Coach to help me pick a color to go with the Cajun Craze…. and Crushed Curry it
is!

If you do not have the Color Coach, I highly suggest you
order it…why? When in doubt it is a great reference tool to get color ideas
without wasting your time playing around! Time is sooo darn important to all of
us and I will say – when I have used it and I see something that I think is a strange
combo together…it always comes out great!

Another thing that I have not shown in a while is paper
piercing…this is a super simple technique that always created interest and a
fun dimension to your projects! Now we all know that it would be next to
impossible to line up the dots by “our eye’ but using the Essentials Paper-Piercing
Pack made it a cinch!

Envelope time!!! I did a double-whammy for the mailman today! I lined the outside of the envelope with the Regal Designer Series Paper Pack ( a must have in every color collection!) and then using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig with the sentiment - I found the center of the envelope and then added another to the left and right! SOOOO easy to do and it does create a wow factor!

That's basically it! The color combinations you can use with this stamp set are endless…I used to be scared of "double stamping" but once I realized it was super easy…it was a great feeling! This is something that I think we are guilty of….stepping out of our comfort zone and trying new things!

Yesterday's card to me was a prime example! A year ago, I would have never even attempted to make a card like that – and once you try something and then you find out that you like it…..you'll do it over and over!
But on the other side…I will admit that I have tried things and then after doing them…I decided – "that is not for me" and that's ok too!
It's all about finding your style and being comfortable with it!
Thanks for sharing a cup of coffee with me this morning! I appreciate your time in reading my blogs! It's a joy creating them but it's a better joy knowing that you enjoy them!
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions! Have a super Sunday and until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Sep 20, 2013 | Fall Cards, Thank You |

John and I are blessed with so many wonderful friends and family helping us over these past weeks! A dear friend set up meals for us several times a week and so many people have been so generous in making yummy meals! WOW – as it is super easy for me not to have to think about cooking after I get off work!
True angels are the best gift one could give as it is great to come home and not having the "cooking task" to face!! Another angel has been my Dad, he comes and sits with John while I am at work and he has been a huge help to me. My favorite guys are here together and I am blessed!
Still lovin this weather on the East Coast and I wanted to continue the fun with the new Best of Autumn Stamp Set! I featured a post on it on Tuesday that I thought was super cute and I wanted to play with the beautiful leaf !

The card size is a fun size, 3 1/2" X 6"…love the different size and with the new envelope punch board it is a cinch! Let's get to the fun!

Now this is a great CAS card that anyone would enjoy receiving! The colors I used with Early Espresso for the base and then a mat of Crumb Cake and then the neutral of the card is very vanilla!
I wanted the leaves to be the foal point in a simplistic way so I chose very Fall-ish colors – Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Cajun Craze.Great fall colors…

This card would be a super easy one to make many of at one time and naturally you could make it into a traditional A-2 card size to use our already made envelopes…and this card is a super card to use up scraps of paper!
If you are anything like me….I have a ca-zillion pieces of vanilla, white and crumb cake pieces here and there! Stamp a bunch of leaves and then put them in a container and as time allows you …have a cutting session!
No need to stress and YES – I did "fussy cut" the leaves out but it truly does not take too long…just do not "over think" it! Paper Snips to the rescue and you are golden!
The sentiment is one that I have been getting a lot of use from, Lot's of Thanks Stamp Set – a definite A list! These words are so sweet and so true! I have so many wonderful friends that truly do give…give…give!

Isn't this a pretty card? Please let me know how you like it and if it is putting you in the fall mood! As I stated before, I made the odd size envelope with the punch board and I did a double-whammy on the envelope!
I stamped the front with the leaf stamped….then stamped it off all in the Cajun Craze! Love to make that mailman smile, he is always so sweet! Simple little tricks like this is an added touch that you can look at it as a 3 for 1….your happy – the mailman is now smiling – and the lucky person getting the card is saysing wow as well!!!

The back flap of the envelope was decorated with a simple solid piece of Cajun craze – something that might be a bit boring – but actually it looks sharp!!! I was on the fance about what designer paper to use so I thought – why stress….just pull the cajun craze from the leaves I just stamped on the front of the card!

Before I ahered the crumb cake part to the base of the card I felt I needed a bit of subtle bling so a quick piece of Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon and then attached a simple knot…quick…simple…and done!
I cannot believe that it is the weekend already but I am soooo happy! I feel like being a hybernating wife and doing nothing but pampering my dear hubby and playing with the animals!
John is doing great….the PT is coming to our home and he (thank goodness) is very strong and has learned transfering himself like a pro from the bed to the wheelchair! Once he is able to bend his knees (even a little bit) he will be happier. I cannot imagine not being able to bend my legs!!!

This has been an experience that makes us thankful for things we simply take for granted! The great news is that he will be fine, but the recovery is long and 1 step at a time!
I am thankful for so many things and I hope that over the weekend you are able to find some "special time" for yourself to reflect on what you are thankful for….
Just love this time of the year as the crisp days make me so happy…have a great day and please remember to email me or leave me a comment on how you like today's post!
Remember…shopping in your jammies is fun and you can have all of your Stampin' Up goodies delivered right to your door!
Stampin' hugs and until tomorrow……
