BLOG CANDY!!!! Do you have…..

Do YOU have a BUCKET LIST?

As I shared with you yesterday, I needed to be out of town so today we are going to have some BLOG CANDY!!! YIPPEE….Before we left for the day I did what I do every year, watch to see if that silly ground hog saw his shadow. Don’t ask me why….but – going to that crazy and unique event has always been on my bucket list!

Here are a couple of things that I would love to do….and I find it fun to think about things that you would really like to do or experience. I can remember seeing the movie “Bucket List” and true it was unrealistic in many ways, it did have a great message about enjoying life!

Please share something that would be on your Bucket List….I am sure that we all have lots of different things that we would like to do! On Friday I will pick a random winner and here is what you will win……how about some basics….because you know me, I am a huge believer in keeping it simple with having the “right supplies” to make a project a fun and rewarding process!

  • A bottle of Green Glue
  • A Roll of Tear and Tape
  • A pack of Stampin’ Dimensions
  • Project Life Pens (these are THE BEST for writing…no smears)

See you tomorrow….can’t wait to read what are somethings that you would like to do!

Show and Tell Monday!

I do not know about you…but I LOVED “Show and Tell” days at school! It was a total excitement for me and I planned what I was going to “Show or Tell” to the max! I thought that it would be fun to SHOW and TELL this AMAZING goodie that was in my mailbox! Talk about hitting the jackpot!

Before we get to the fun today, I must say – you all are the best and I do dearly love reading each and everyone of your comments. I admit….I try to stay off the computer during the day as I get “sucked in that cyber hole” so I do try to respond to your  wonderful comments but as Sonny said, I usually do it at the end of the day! (I guess it shows that I am trying to be disciplined because I know that it is hard for me to get off once I get on!)

Let’s get to this Monday fun! This was in my Mailbox on Friday. It was from me dear friend and downline, Jeanie Stark. I have known Jeanie for ages and we have gone thru Creative Memories, American Girl Dolls with our girls…to endless laughs and inspirations…to being together in Atlanta for On Stage!

Jeanie is super talented and just darn tootin’ fun. We truly have had many adventures together from taking my truck and trailer to get painted….to picking strawberries…to creating endless works of memories for our families…..she is truly a talented stamper, and amazing pre-school teacher and a wonderful person!

I love her motto….with her work schedule when she gets off…..“FROM 12 to 3, IT’S ALL ABOUT ME”.…this was “her time” before her children came home from school but now her peeps are out of the home nest and she is doing a BANG UP job with her blog, Just Stampin’. I highly encourage you to subscribe to her blog as it is Jeanie at it’s best – and it is FUN!

Isn’t this the best ensemble to see! Not only did I feel super special, but I just did not want to open it because of its sheer beauty. Being the “teacher” that she is, she is doing another (this is her 2nd go around with the Alphabet) of the A,B,C’s…and she NAILED IT!

CLICK HERE to see her post of how she created this AMAZING project!

I am never, ever brave enough to try to use the sequins…but I think that we can agree….she NAILED IT! It is funny….clustering together different types of products just always seem to work….for me, it is just sticking my head out and try!

Another product that I am a bit shy to use but again, she rocked it – the gold glimmer paper…I adore how she off set the layers as it gives such a POP!

When you look at this and really, really look at it – there are simple elements that are all put together to make an instant dimension! I was just sooooo touched by this, it is such a beauty but also sooooooo do-able!

I just had to take the tissue out of the box so you could get the sheer FUN of this bundle! The way that these stars POP up is amazing and the gold paper makes such a statement. Wouldn’t this be an AMAZING project/gift to make…..when you see Jeanie’s instructions~ you will see how do-able this is!

I love to share other peoples work….and I hope that this post made you smile and also brought some insight to you in how to make an amazing gift! We all have so much to give and share and I cannot tell you how proud I am of Jeanie’s blog ….we all have gifts – just always share them and let them shine!

How about giving Jeanie some comments of love and also – please check out her blog….it is amazing and you will laugh, be inspired and want to come back for more!

See you tomorrow for Tips for your Tuesday – trust me, you will smile! 😀

Simple Saturday!

Hello to all and welcome to Simple Saturday! I have just been ITCHIN’ to ink up this stamp set and it felt great to do so! This stamp set, Avant Garden is a FREEBIE one from the fabulous Sale-a-bration collection of freebies that you can pick with every incremental order of $50.00!

I know that I have shared this with you all a bunch but I love to point it out….PLEASE USE THE FABULOUS SAMPLES in our catalogs for inspiration! The minute I saw the card (below) in the SAB Catalog, I knew that I was going to CASE it…and that is exactly what I did today!

It’s funny…there are times that I have people ask me if I think it is wrong to CASE…..I say, “HECK NO” – if it helps your “mojo” get kick started than by all means ~ GO FOR IT! Remember, that is super flattering to someone that you liked it so much that you wanted to give it a spin!

This is how I went about making this super sweet card. I pick my focal colors that I wanted (Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum) and went from there! The leaves were Pear Pizzazz.

I just had the above Stampin’ Up! Sample up on my computer and became “Picasso” and sent to town to try to interpret it. The lighter pink is the Flirty Flamingo “stamped off once” to give it a softer look and basically a totally different color.

Can you see my boo-boo…..it happens to use all, a “wobble” of the bock will do this 👿 but there was no way that I was going to start over….JUST MAKE LEMONADE! 🙂

The PRESTO was making a strip that would hide my boo-boo…..we can call if a paper band-aide!  It was 1 /2″ wide and then I matted it with Tip Top Taupe just a smidge larger!

Now I think that we all can agree…this is a card that I think anyone would be proud to send. Let’s chat about that SUPER FUN polka dot paper, this is from the In Color DSP Stack…it is just always the perfect finishing touch (this is why I always include them on my Product Shares…when in doubt – pull the DSP’s out)

I can share with you thins…in looking at peoples favorites with the SAB items…the most popular are this stamp set, Avant Garden and Hey Chick! I can remember when I was a customer, I loved this time of the year and always looked forward to these FREEBIES. Remember, with every order of $50.00 ~ you can pick a FREEBIE from the SAB Catalog!

Enjoy the day…we are already blowing through the 1st month of the year…….(On Wednesday I was going to remind you that Christmas was 11 months away…but I just couldn’t do it) 😆 ~ heck  – I walk through our home and still find odds and ends of Christmas!!!

Valentine Fun…

Happy HUMP day and I think that I have a card for you today that you are really going to like! I was doing the happy dance with this bundle, Sealed with Love but I admit, I like the framelits better than the stamp set.

I feel like the framelits can go a long way throughout the year but this is one…that I would probably go for the bundle to save the 10% and you know that the stamps would be perfect for this special day that is right around the corner!

I can remember when the preview of this catalog came out and I saw that tiny envelope….SOLD – on its way to Randall Lane as I have been itchin’ to do a card with little envelopes ever since I watched a video of Jennifer McGuire’s several years ago! I adore her style and I was super happy to make a valentine with this envelope!

I think that this is a great one for a guy using the Basic Gray and the fun and subtle DSP, A Little Foxy worked perfect. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes and then POPPED out with the Classic Label Punch….win – win all the way around!

I had fun with the paper I chose today! I wanted to make something that I thought would be bit toned down from the traditional Valentines Paper and I will say…I think that it is FUN! I am thrilled that Stampin’ Up! is continuing to come out with the 6 X 6 paper stacks as I think that they are soooo easy to work with!

You can actually use the framelit that looks like a note and actually write a message and tuck it in! I used a simple glue dot to seal each of the little envelopes! Aren’t they soooooooo cute!. I just think that it doesn’t get any cuter than this….what do you think!?!?!

This special day will be here in a jif…..I hope that you can see how this style of a card would be a fun one to make and also one that is great in using up scraps of paper! I just LOVE to play that personal game with myself, “SEE HOW MANY SCRAPS YOU CAN USE TODAY” – Funny it is the silly things that make me roll!

Can’t wait to see you tomorrow…..you will LOVE IT!!!! (I know you too well) 😀

Tips for your Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday and you know what today is – a tip! We have all heard the expression….if you are given lemons….find away to make Lemonade!

Know you know me by now…I am very honest an up front about how I like products, what products do I not care for and other products than Stampin’ Up! products that I find to make my Stampin’ experience better! The main thing is….to have fun and it is as simple as that!

I am going to be totally upfront….the Paper Pumpkin Kit for December was not my cup of tea….(no nasty mail please) but I found a way to make it work for ME! (I did love and appreciate the black marker…..just saying!) 😛 I like to create my families memories in a different way but I say – WOOT-WOOT as there was a BUNCH of stuff to “re-purpose”

Because we all know that Sale-A-Bration is the sweetest time of the year…..this is also a GREAT time to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin and earn Sale-A-Bration Items!

Now you might be scratching your head and saying – WHY IN THE WORLD would Susan be blogging about this if she was not crazy about what she received for a month! I say EASY ANSWERS….

  • We can’t have it “our way” all of the time, people all have different tastes…
  • Paper Pumpkin is a solid program that is delivered to your door every month and if you do not like it…there are ways to make it “work for you”…just like I did today.
  • Paper Pumpkin is a PERFECT gift to “gift” to someone…anytime! It is a complete kit so you can have some “me time” and have fun!

During Sale-a-Bration is a perfect time to sign up for an extended membership so you can earn FREEBIES! We all love FREEBIES and there is nothing like opening up your mailbox and see that box…and then it happens…..HURRY – GET TO YOUR “SPACE” and take it ALL IN! Trust me, this happens each and every month!

Grab that next cup of coffee and watch this video….

Now  is YOUR turn to see a parade of pictures on how I made this work for me. There are ALWAYS ways to make it work for you and I hope that this post not only made you smile….but also when you clicked on and saw the initial card…and then thought = Oh my, where did this come from….

I do not use the “Neutrals a bunch” as a base color (well….naturally I do use white and vanilla) but I will say, I do love Early Espresso. It is a great and solid brown that “just works” – Do you have a favorite color collection? I seem to go back and forth from the Regals to the Brights!

So I guess the moral of this Tuesday Story is…we need to make the best out of what we have.

I hope that you understand where I am coming from as there are ALWAYS ways to look at something and make it work! I am a HUGE proponent of USING WHAT YOU HAVE.…and this is what I did with this specific kit.

I will also give you an idea….IF you a Paper Pumpkin Kit that is “just not you” – donate it to a Girls Club or a Nursing Home…trust me, the joy in your heart and the smile that you will make to someone will make you easily forget that you were not a fan of that certain month….

In my opinion, Stampin’ Up! does a great job with this program and we can’t get it right all of the time….(but I will say – I LOVE JANUARY’S KIT)…..so go for it – get the rewards with the FREEBIES of Sale-A Bration……you will be a happy stamper!

The other great option with Paper Pumpkin is if you need to skip a month because “life/vacation” gets in the way – you can pause it for a month and then when you are ready….get right back where you left off! This program sure has come A LONG WAY and all in all – I say it’s a great glass of Lemonade! 😀
