Good Morning! When I see an Ice Cream Cone…I say YUM! There is nothing like an ice cream cone…all the way to the end of the sugar cone! We have a little local place that has the BEST Ice Cream and my favorite is coffee that has little specks of dark chocolate! This paper is FUN and as you can see it SCREAMS for ICE CREAM!
Today is the Pals Paper Art Challenge and this week it is a color challenge . The colors below are the palette that we are working with this week and I hope that you will POP over to the Pals Paper Art Website and see all of the great projects that the design team came up with and then how about finding some “me time” to create something using these colors!
I love straight forward cards like this as they are simply classic. When you are in need of a card in a jif, this would be one that would “fit the bill”for just about anyone. This stamp set is a Hostess Stamp set in the annual catalog and I think that this font is a true keeper! You can see in the below photo of the stamp set that there are many fabulous sentiments to add to this bold “Happy Birthday” stamp!
There is a great way for you to have this stamp set. Email me and I will be happy to set you up with a hostess code which can be open for a month and it will give you time to get orders from family and friends all over and then you can earn rewards, The best thing is….the products get shipped directly to your friends and they do not have to wait for you to close your event. Email me, I am happy to clarify this simple way to have an event!
Isn’t is just amazing what we can do with paper? You can see the simplicity of this but at the same time, the WOW is there. I know that we all struggle with the “time thing” and you can see that this card is fast and easy!
I know that it is super hard to see, but I did score the above and below of the sentiment…this adds a simple yet effective touch!
\
I have a confession…after I finished the card I looked at the palette for today and I thought it was blushing bride that we were using….but it was pink pirouette…..now worries – a quick pop of stars did the trick but the real keeper is the enamel dots – I just love the instant FUN it brings!
Doing one of my favorite ways to dress up an envelope (plus it saves paper and you can use a 2″ X 6″ piece of DSP so you can line 10 envelopes from one sheet of paper) – I add a 1/4″ strip of paper to the top and then add the dsp below…let it dry and then take yours scissors and trim away! POOF – you are DONE!!!!
My errands days was successful and I know that I will have a great day today as I have my coffee! YIPPEE…I need my coffee in the morning! Thanks for popping in this morning….I know that you probably have many friends and family that would enjoy this card – another example of SIMPLE WORKING!
I would adore to see you earn this hostess stamp set, feel free to get in touch with me and I will help you reach your goals – it is sooooo much easier than you think! Have a great day,,,,,
Happy HUMP day! I know that you are not able to come to my pitty party but I was in the need for a PICK ME UP so I recreated a card that I have done in the past….made some changes and I smiled! 😉
This is MY KIND OF CARD….simple, fun and classic! Next week I am going to do a video on how easy it is to make this clean and simple card! It is a great way to USE UP SCRAPS!
Today is going to be a GREAT DAY…I can just feel it inside….someone came last night to help plow the lane….(yikes – it was dark when he cameand fingers crossed that he did a good job….he has never been here but we are desperate at this point) and I am hoping that when we both wake up I am going to be like Fred Flintstone clicking my heels with happiness!
We have not received any mail since Friday and yesterday I called out little local Post Office to see how they are doing and THEY ARE CLOSED….I have learned to get to know the people that help you…and trust me, the Williamsport Post Office helps me 😀
Let’s get to this fun card…it uses a stamp set that IS NOT in the catalog but is available online….I do hope that if you do not have this stamp set…that you see the classic FUN it has….I wish that you could see mine. It is all discolored because I have used it sooooooooo much – I just love it and I hope that you like it to!
Here is a picture of it and you can click the image on the below list of products. These sentiments in this stamp set are fantastic, I love the font, I love the versatility that you can do with it! For $15.00 – you cannot go wrong!
Another great thing about this card…but honestly, I just cannot do it – (as I LOVE my envelopes) but you can mail this card in one of our regular envelopes. HOW? It is a 4 1/4″ square card but I love making custom envelopes. I realize that it does cost more to mail but I think that it is will worth it.
Next week, I will share with you the in’s and out‘s as well as many different ideas on themes, colors ideas etc….to me, having a card like this is a “secret weapon” – one that you can create…recreate and love it each and every time!\
I am so excited to GET OUT….so many things to do – it has been fun being at home but I admit, I am going a bit stir crazy! My fingers are crossed that our lane is good….the plan is – I will take John to work and then I can have the truck for the day…..(I just need to remember to pick him up)!!! We ran out of coffee so 1st stop, Sam’s Club….and then I have a huge date at the laundry mat….they can’t come to fix our wash machine until the back roads are better!
With Sale-A-Bration in full swing, remember that there are items that are only available until February 15th – (pages 17 – 19) but the GREAT news is that there will be NEW offerings for the remainder of SAB! Here comes a WOOT-WOOT! My favorite in the group that will be leaving in the middle of February is The Sky is the Limit – that is one great stamp set!
Enjoy the day, have fun and I totally hope that my day is going to happen as I envision it…..I am an email away and I hope to see you back tomorrow for a PPA color challenge! It’s a fun and oh so doable challenge….I know that you can do it! I would love to see you in the gallery!
Wow…it is still a lot of snow but we are getting through it! Tractor died…YIKES – my washer machine is SICK.…but life is good and I hope that we will make out out today! Darn, I hope so -Yesterday, John worked from the house and if he is happy…I am happy (after all it is tax season)
Click on the below video and you will see how Party Poppers ARE like Potato Chips…..once you have one…you simply cannot stop! They are FUN….they are EASY.…they are ADDICTIVE and you an fill them with a multitude of goodies – think out of the box – true it can be sweets, but it can also be inspiration quotes or even a message of affirmation to the specific recipient!
I hope that you are able to find some “me time” and make some of these fun and festive poppers. I know that you will smile. The FUN thing about this is…THINK OUT OF THE BOX – I am sharing with you ideas that are also non-traditional with a typical Valentines color/stamp theme!
Here is a quick scoop for you to reference!
The size of the paper is 4 1/2″ x 6″ (this is why the paper stacks are great)
On the 4 1/2″ side, score at 1″, 2″, 3″ and 4″ – use the bone folder to give a good score.
Starting with the 1/2″ side folded down, put in the envelope punch board and at the 1″ line…punch. FLIP the entire piece over nd again, at the 1″ line…punch.
Fold down to the next score line and do the same….1″ Press….FLIP 1″ Press…..continuing to do this the whole way.
To adhere, I use the Fast Fuse along the 1/2″ piece, a glue dot on each end, FOLD to adhere – DONE!
Please watch the video to see the entire process if you are confused or also feel free to email me and I will be glad to help you!
For the belly band:
The paper size is 2 1/2″ X 4 3/4″
Using the Stampin’ Trimmer and the scoring tool, take this piece and score a teeny tiny larger than 1″…so this 4 more times….(I like to use the right hand side of the trimmer as I think it is easier to see)
If you want to stamp something….do it now and also stitch or add dots….(just try it – it is FUN)
Place adhesive on the end, fold over and SMILE! 😉
I hope that you have fun making these and I hope that you agree…..it IS like potato chips….you will need to have more than one! These sweet 3-D treats are always a hit and I know that you are going to have fun making them!
It is Tuesday and you know what that means….NEW weekly deals –please click hereto see the offerings this week – do you have a favorite???? Please feel free to leave me a comment and also, let me know how you like the video! (I am really, really trying)
Here are the products that I used to create these fun treats….remember, think out of the box and work with what you have! Stampin hugs to all….until tomorrow!
WHAT….???? What does this subject mean? Easy = we all know that when you start eating potato chips that you cannot stop…that is the same thing that will happen to you when you makes this fun and festive project.
WOW – I think that I was in a fantasy land by thinking that i would have a HUGE block of tine to “play with paper” and true I did, but not as much as I wanted to! There is SOOOO much snow that “I was needed”
Please pop back tomorrow for a video of all of the “In’s and Out’s” of how to make these fun POPPERS! They are sooooooo addictive to make so get ready to have fun!
I will share with you how you can use paper that is not a “traditional” Valentines paper or stamp set….but it will WORK – and then you will smile!
These are always both fun to make…and also so well received by who is lucky enough to receive them – that is why there are like potato chips…you just cannot have and stop at one!
Below are some pictures for you to enjoy…we have a TON of snow but it will all pass….life is a journey and you just have to deal and accept what comes your way!
I hope that these bring a smile to your face as you have a glimpse of our wonderful life! I will say……when John, James and I finally sit down…we are POOPED…..but I do hope that you will POP back tomorrow to see the video and all of the scoop to make these POPPERS! I have some great tips and tricks for you to make a bunch in no time!
WOWZERS…We have never ever had this much snow before and to be honest with you….I would be “just fine”if it doesn’t happen again! It snowed ALL day yesterday (and actually it is still snowing as I type this at 7 p.m.) At the end of the post I will share with you some pictures of the snow….my fur babies. We were to get high winds last night so I am hoping and praying that the power behaves itself!
Make sure that you read to the end of the post as I am offering a personal special for you today….it is good for JUST TODAY!
Let’s get to it….I made some minor….minor changes that are a cinch to do and it is amazing how just a change up in (3) things makes a difference. Some may like it, some may not and that is just fine…my goal is to try to share and inspire you to try different things!
The (3) changes were:
I cut the DSP into (4) 1″ strips X 3″
I added 1/4″ strips of blushing bride to the edges.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to POP up the sentiment and the heart.
The other thing that I forgot to mention yesterday that I did on both cards was to use the White Fun Foam to back the layer up! Several weeks ago I blogged about doing this and I am really liking it. I purchased it from Amazon and you canclick here to see what it is…I am amazed at how substantial the card feels in your hand as by having the solid piece – it makes a very solid card.
It is best to adhere this with a tape runner or I used fast fuse I (as I am not addicted to it) If you use the good old green glue, it soaks right in the foam…not a good choice! If you happen to have some craft foam, try it – you might like it! This is something that is could to try when you have a larger, solid piece like this one….also it works great on die cuts….this is what I used to POP up the numbers on the 50th birthday card I did last Thursday!
On today’s card, I did use stampin’ dimensionals to pop up both the heart and the sentiment…yesterday they were adhered flat! Either way works…just comes down to preference!
Let’s chat about the strips…yesterdays dimension for the DSP was 4 1/2″ X 3 1/2″ but today I just made the DSP into (4) X 3 1/2″ strips. You still cn do both the card and the lined envelope with just (1) sheet of DSP.
Because I did the card with the 1/4″ strip with the DSP I thought, WHY NOT??? Just continue to make this theme work on the card! I highly reccomend that you use the RIGHT hand side of your stampin’ trimmer to make small (thin) cuts…..it is much easier to see and do! There really is no science about how I added them.
This method is a fun one to do and also you can see that if you did not get it perfectly straight, no worries…the strips of paper are your friends and they will go over top of the DSP strips!
I do think that this is a super sweet and cute card! YEP, it can certainly be used for Valentines Day but it could also be sent as a thank you for a special friend. These prints on this stack “grows on you” after you look at them over and over. I can remember when I first saw this paper stack, I thought it was JUST VALENTINES….it certainly is not at all – it is a great collection of fun and rich papers!
Well – there you go….another 2 day post that will show you that there are 2 ways to make a simple card work! I hope that if you are affected by this unbelievable snow storm that you are safe and staying in and letting nature do its thing….and then letting the road crews that are working sooooo are do their thing.
The way I look at it is = IT ALLOWS UP TO DO OUR THING….MAKE CARDS!
Please remember to use the hostess code of 3RPTW7MB(the current hostess code will always be in the upper corner of my blog) and you can click here and see the goodies that I will send your way!

Saturdays post is called Simple Saturdayand then pop back tomorrow and you will see Step it Up Sunday – the same card…just “stepped” up a bit! I know that many of you are still having troubles since I have switched from Typepad to Word Press, my address ISthe same…www.simplestampin.com (Please let me know if you are still having issues – I do not want you to miss you my simple stampin fun)!
We are SUPER LUCKY to have so many FUN PAPERS with us right now in the Stampin’ Up! liine…I personally adore these paper stacks, WHY? = EASY…I love the size, 6″ X 6″ and I love the fact that you get (4) sheets of each pattern. This one is called Love Blossoms and it is just beautiful! I love it especially since it has so many small prints, they are super easy to work with and can make a simple card look fabulous in no time! I LOVE THAT EASY BUTTON!
You can see that for today’s card I totally let this yummy paper be the star. WHY NOT – sometimes I think that we are afraid to use the DSP in a big fashion but try it – you will be super happy as it is a H U G E time saver and guess what – it is a super simple yet very effective.
Be EASY on yourself…SIMPLE works just fine!!!
The card base is a Notecard size and then I just went down 1/4″ on both the white and also the DSP. The sentiment is from the super fun and popular set from the annual catalog called Sheltering Tree….please do not forget about these wonderful sentiments in this stamp set – they are perfect as I have shown you today but they are also perfect for an inside message.
I hope that this card brought a Saturday smile to your face! Simple, Fun & DONE! The Sweetheart Punch was a quick POP and then of course I could not resist…..little dots around to make it special!
Please do not be afraid to cut out a sentiment like this….just stamp it and then cut around – I like this when I do not want to think about being straight or looking for a framelit that might work. WOW – that sounds lazy but this does work and this is a fun and effective way to showcase a sentiment!
I need to say a HUGE and HEARTFELT THANK YOU for all of the sweet comments and emails I have received over the loss of sweet Norman. My heart was full and my eyes were wet reading them and I appreciate each and everyone of them. Again, thank you for being you.
Most of you know that we live in Maryland and if you have seen the news you know that we are right in the middle of this snow storm. I waited for this post to go off a bit later to share with you what we woke up to this morning!
The below picture is the beautiful sky I was able to “take in” yesterday morning when going down to the barn and then the next picture is what I woke up to today. We have a balcony off of our bedroom look – we are at 20″ now and still going!
I am hitting the send button to you all and then “SUITING UP” – to make the trek to the barn…all of the horses are in the barn and from what it looks like – they will be there for many days! I am crazy to do what I do but I love it! The dogs LOVE the snow but they cannot go out to play until we make a path as it is too deep – trust me, that will not stop a Jack Russell from having fun!
Poor Daisy is MISERABLE – pigs do not like to be cold and they definitely do not like SNOW….she’ll be fine ….just make a path for her she does her business and then grunts and groans the whole way back to warmth – she is ONE LUCKY PIG!
Be safe…have fun today and I am being SUPER careful as I want this to be a healthy year for me! After this barn thing – you bet I’ll be doing what we all love – STAMPING UP A STORM!
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow…..
p.s. = SNOW UPDATE….2 hours after the above picture…26″ = We are coming in from round #1 – horses are happy – Daisey is miserable …..but we have power!!!!
