I’m fluttering…..

IMG_8711

Hello all….wow – I've missed you!!!! So much to talk about…so much to share, but 1st – I want you to know that I feel like I have "turned the tide" with my pain….and I am doing great! YES, I am taking it super easy but I really, really am starting to feel like myself.

I do admit…these (2) naps a day are also great – babies do it and it makes them happier to be around…so heck – I should do this too…I am lovin' this napping thing (especially with my fur babies)

I swear things "just happen to us" – Saturday evening we had a huge storm and I was in bed and all of a sudden I hear this HUGE CRACK OF LIGHTENINGand then a POP…..John came flying back to see if I was ok and said -  "Did you hear that"?

Naturally all of the obvious looked ok but we did loose our phone, tv and Internet. It came back on late yesterday so sorry for no post on Sunday. We did lose the air-conditioning upstairs and the lightening hit our flag pole…(yes, John is such a Boy Scout at heart and we have a Flag Pole) – we are very lucky, it could have been a lot worse.

I felt bad for John…it was Fathers Day and I know what he would have LOVED to have done would be to sit and watch golf on TV….instead – he worked his tail off outside and was soooo hot….We are just thankful that there was not severe damage and that we are back up with technology!

IMG_8708

Let's get to this cute card…but I need to share with you a "sneak secret"…..I asked my downline if any would help me out with a posting etc…and you have heard me talk about Jeanie a bunch, a dear friend and also downline…well – she sent me a BUNCH OF GOODIES…and I am super excited to be able to pull it together as a posting….you'll LOVE IT!

This is my kind of card and one that I hope you CASE away until you are tired of butterflies! You can use this for anything…just because, birthday, anniversary, sympathy…yada – yada….

I would highly recommend that you purchase this as a bundle…WHY??? Simple – you'll save 15% and you will adore the framelits….I'll blog on this another day.

140232G

You know why I adore this stamp bundle…well for starters, the "triple stamping" is sooo much fun…(You will really feel like a Picasso adding a stamp over a stamp…creating depth and fun color) and the sentiments in this stamp set are wonderful…and THERE ARE DOTS…YIPPEE-SKIPEE….I love my dots!

  IMG_8709

  • The base is a notecard (5" X 3 1/2") and then I made a mat a smidge smaller
  • Having FUN with the dots in Daffodil Delight, I stamped it off first to make it a bit lighter across the top and bottom

IMG_8714

  • The butterfly recipe….

Have LOTS of fun playing with different color combinations. I will be sharing more posts using this stamp set but I was happy with the outcome today…

IMG_8715

  • The sentiment that I used today was from one of my all time favorite sentiment set, A Dozen Thoughts. This is a "must have" and I adore the font today.
  • To finish the envelope…out came the NEW Brights DSP Stack…polka dot fun – these paper stacks are sooo darn tootin' hot….just love them as they come in handy when you do not have the "perfect" dsp to finish off your card.

Pumpkin June FUN!

I shared with you yesterday that I have been doing a lot of sitting….(I have been a VERY good patient) and napping all the time! In between siestas I put together this month's Paper Pumpkin!

There are some months that I LOVE everything from start to finish just as they planned and this was one of those months! One of the perks about subscribing to Paper Pumpkin is that you are able to purchase past kits and refills if available!

If this one will become available as a refill kit, I will definitely purchase several of these as I think that both of these cards are adorable! I love the layout…I love the sentiment…I think that they are super practical and fun cards! Below you will the ones I made….I adore them!

I know and trust me I get it that there are some of you that do not care for these kits. They way that I look at it is…it is fun to have a surprise every month and I do find a purpose for them. Many times I have given them away as gifts and there are LOTS of people out there that do not like to think….they like having everything ready to rumble!

Here are the cards that I made! I followed the instructions just as they were in the video with the exception of I made a bow on the front of the vertical card….I am not a fan of seeing the twine when you open it!

I think that you can see why I said if these become a refill kit option – you betcha that I will purchase  them….they are super cute and I really had fun putting them together! I love this font!

My Friends!

Good Morning! Well….I thought that I would have been well enough yesterday to be able to create but I needed to listen to my body and wait another day. The pain is still very severe but I am on top of my Meds so it is under control. I can feel a big difference from each time I take a nap!

I will say that while I have been sitting in bed I have put together some Paper Pumpkins…and now I am working on one of the new kits in the catalog! They are really fun!

You all know that I adore my "fur babies" and they are a big part of my life! Here are some collages I put together for you….(click on them to make them larger) The dogs have been right by my side all day long, it ia amazing the instinct of an animal.

These are all our animals except the adorable pony on the upper right. That is "Big Red" He melts my heart and he belongs to the barn in Virginia where Hannah rides….he is sooooo tiny and he only has one eye. He is the babysitter for many of the horses that get anxious being turned out by themselves so he has a very important job!!!

 Enjoy!

One of the things that I adore about blogging is that I can also give you a snapshot of who I am and what makes me roll. That is such and easy one to answer…my wonderful hubbie, my 3 peeps and my 4 legged friends. These are all such a big part if who I am.

There were 2 things (animals) that I always wanted….a Jack Russell and a Pig and yep – I have them both! Eddie, was our first Jack Russell and he is really slowing down but his life has been filled with love, balls, toys and knowing that everyday is a new adventure.

Daisy Mae, the pig came into my life from a horse show…. (actually all of our dogs we have rescued) I had a friend that always knew that I wanted a pig. She knew of a pig that was going through a divorce settlement and the people could not agree who got to keep her (so silly…..but I went to go see her – took her for a trial to make sure that she was ok with our dogs and the rest is history)

I am asked often…does she live in the house…OF COURSE she does…she thinks she is a dog and she goes to the door just like a dog does if she needs to go outside. She does not like the winter one bit and you will find her in front of the fireplace all day long….(I think that I am the only one in the house that likes her but she really adores John)

Tomorrow I promise that I will have something fun for you…I need to take it slow and listen to my body. I did have my ankle re-broken and they had to put a metal plate and pins in it and also there was some tendon damage …so they fixed that! I will be as good as new!

I am the very 1st one that realizes the importance of rehabbing (heck, we have been rehabbing Oscar for so long and YES – Morgan gets to help with Oscar!) I am going to take it slow but I wish you could see that  have the 1st floor ready to go!

Thanks for your patience and until tomorrow.

Rewind for Friday Fun!

Good Morning! I had posted about this earlier this year and I felt that it was appropriate to "re-do" it again as I will be needing my box of fun! Please make sure that you do read to the end as I have a super easy tip for you and your re-inkers!

I set all of my blog posts to go off on a schedule and I am hopeful that tomorrow I will be feeling up to it to blog and let you know how I am….below is what I call my Box of fun….it has all of the necessities in it for me to work on my projects!

IMG_7085

It truly is amazing what a Kleenex Box will do for you…(it actually brings back wonderful memories of when the kids needed to make school projects). I covered it with paper, DSP and ribbon to have on special Box of Stampin' fun!

When I broke my ankle the 1st time, my wonderful husband was getting a bit frustrated with all of my stampin' stuff here and there in our family room. We were getting ready to have a Blog Hop with the theme of recycling and BAM…this came to mind!

IMG_7086

My "work table" is back on the 1st floor until I can do steps… and my box of fun is downstairs as well. Here is the analogy that I like to use with my Box of fun….

I like to think of it as a kitchen, when you have the proper utensils, the cooking process goes so much smoother…and just like equipping a kitchen – it takes time, it is an investment but here is my take on the "must haves" for making me roll with my projects!

IMG_7091

Here are the goodies that are in my Box of Fun….it is amazing how much you can get in!

(These are in no particular order, I am just peaking in my box and typing away!)

  • Stampin' Pierce Mat
  • Stampin' Scrub (Once you get use to using this – you'll never be without it)
  • Stampin' Mist
  • Craft Scissors (I know…and indulgence – but SOOOOOO worth it – you'll never regret it….actually I bet you'll buy another within 6 months – I keep one for paper and one for ribbon)
  • Paper Snips Scissors
  • Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (no sighing here….try it – you'll LOVE IT)
  • Adhesive Remover (Simply the best, especially if you use the "green glue" a bunch)
  • Snail Permanent Adhesive
  • Glue Dots
  • Sticky Strip
  • Liquid Multipurpose Glue
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Silicone Craft Sheet
  • Bone Folder
  • Paper-Piercing Tool
  • Simply Scored Stylus
  • Project Life Journaling Pens (these are the best to write with in your cards…they do not smear one bit!)
  • White Gel Pen (what would I do without my trusty friend)

These are the Stampin' Up! Products that were a supporting actress to my box of fun!

  • Tiny Treat Boxes
  • 1-3/8" Circle Punch ( to make the hole for the boxes)
  • Blushing Bride 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock
  • Blushing Bride 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (A MUST HAVE!!!)
  • Flower Pot Designer Series Paper
  • Regals Candy Dots
  • Perfect Print Alphabet Bigz Die
  • Vanilla Coaster Board (I adore this and used it to "lift up" my letters, this is what I used to make my Easter Baskets. It is overlooked in the catalog but sure does come in handy!)
  • Big Shot

IMG_7093

Non Stampin' Up Things in my box of tricks!

  • Mechanical Pencil (I think the lead is softer making it super easy to erase)
  • Magic Rub Eraser (a simple eraser that you can buy at any office store)
  • A Good Ruler (I like one that is clear and one that goes down to 1/8" marks
  • A note pad (I always like to have scratch paper to write note and tips for my postings)

IMG_8654

Now for a TIP FOR THE DAY!

When I first started with Stampin' Up! I did not "get" the importance of purchasing the re-inkers until I was working on a project that I was not getting a good stamp….and who in the heck wants to wait for an order to come in for something as simple as a re-inker.

They are very affordable and when I purchase mine, each collection came in a box so it was super easy for me to use my label maker and type Regals….Brights etc…. but then I always had a hard time reading the tiny print as to what color it is.

Take the hole puncher and pop out the color that is in the bottle…adhere it with a glue dot and BAM – you can find the color you are looking for super quick!

Until tomorrow!
