Make it Mine Monday!

IMG_4682

Good morning….great week ahead! I hope that you are getting your daily dose of me this morning! I have been having problems with my posts going out and being delivered to you as you are used to!

I think I know what the problem is…..ME! (I am going to call a very patient Customer Support this morning for guidance)

Here is your sketch for you to play with this week…I realize that we are all getting super busy with the holiday but I say….Stampin' will cure all stresses!

That darn calendar is WHIPPING by…..so let's get going! One of my all time favorite words is "JOY" – I think that as I have become older I appreciate that this little word can fill your heart in so many ways….some that are obvious to others and some that are just special to you!

This is a new stamp set called Banner Blessings and I am sure that you can see the potential and versatility of it for so many of the variety of cards we make and send.

Many of you know that I do card volunteer work for Breast Cancer patients, this card I am personally sending to a very young Mom that has Breast Cancer, she has a set of twins and another older child -  her husband died suddenly of a massive heart attack last year.

She knows what "Joy" is and she has such a beautiful and postivie outlook. We all need to step back at times and allow the joy of others to enter into us! I adore this set and I am so excited that we have it!

IMG_4684

I think that these colors together are just stunning! How can you go wrong with Black and White with a POP of color and today's color is pool party! I honestly just looked at the sketch and said – go for it!

I think that eveything is pretty straight forward for you to CASE this design but here are the quick measurements for the stamped part! (naturally just adjust it to whatever size your sentiment is that you are working with!

IMG_4685

  • The White stamped part is 2 1/2" X 1 3/4" and then matted a "smidge" larger 2 5/8" X 1 7/8"
  • The DSP is 2 1/4" X 1 7/8" (left) and 2 1/4" X 1 1/8" (right)

I always like using the "green glue" to adhere the embossed part (lg Polka FUN dots) and then the rest I POPPED up with good old Stampin' Dimensionals! I did punch holes to thread the cotton ribbon thru and then did a simple Susan knot!

IMG_4686

I was going to stop at that but then I thought it needed just a special added touch….out came the itty bitty accents punches (these are like a little black dress)they always come to the rescue when you need something quick!

I always like pushing down the centers to give the flowers some flair and then a simple glue dot does the trick along with a pearl!

That's it…..I just love the fresh colors and the sentiment is just wonderful! I know that it will be very special to my new friend! Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers….

IMG_4687

Tomorrow is a "not to be missed" blog posting….as  I think you might want to print it out! (hmmmmm….wonder what it is….???? – I know that you will be smiling) Enjoy the day….pace yourself….we can only do so much (trust me – I need to honor this myself!!!)

I am an email away, I adore your comments and I love helping you reach your goals. Together we can accomplish tons! Until tomorrow!

3-D Fun and oh so easy!!!!

IMG_4676

Good Morning! I am sure that there are going to be many of you that are going to be going to the store today to get these adorable little Snowmen and Terry Bears! They are Lindt Chocolates and I found them in the grocery store – (as I walked by the candy section they "jumped" in my cart and said take me home)!!!

I only have 3 pictures for you today as this post is that easy…you can easily mass produce these guys and they make adorable place cards for your table. When I worked, I always made them and placed them on my co workers desk with a note…..they are just FUN to make!

Back in the Spring I did a post similar using the chocolate bunnies….please click here to see that post! Today's are just the same with the exception of 2 things.

  • The embossing folder I used (for the bunny) is discontinued so I did not show it for today's post, I just used the Oval punch but if you do have that embossing folder, I would use it….(I like the effect it gives….but today I did something different and I also liked that!
  • Also on the Bunny one, I popped out both sides and today I only did one side….why???? = the bunny you could see from both sides and these (2) I am showcasing today are (1) sided.

Let's get going and this is so darn easy!

IMG_4681

  • Take a 2" X 11" piece of card stock and score it at 4 1/2"…then flip it around and score it at 4 1/2" again….use your bone folder to get a good crease!
  • Using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch….do both ends!
  • Using the X Large Oval Punch, punch out the opening for your critters!
  • If you want…run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.
  • I placed snail adhesive on the base of the project and squished some white fru-fru and then used several glue dots to adhere my critter!
  • Add some simple ribbon….stamp the sentiment on scraps and DONE!

IMG_4678

Now how about that for hitting that "Easy Button"!!! Cute, fast, fun….I guess the only down side is that you hate to eat them!!! (I must admit, I still have a bunny in my work area and even if I get a "sweet tooth"….I just can't do it to him!)

Many thanks for the emails and comments in wishing Hannah home. It is wonderful to have her home safely. It was truly an amazing experience and John and I are "taking the stories all in". It was very bittersweet to see her leave her new friends (28 of them) that were on this journey together over the past 4 months!

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, and do not forget about the clearance rack….this is the End of the Year Clearance while supplies last!

Today we are getting our Tree….always an exciting time. Please pop back tomorrow as it is Make it Mine Monday! Enjoy the day and be careful going to get your chocolate Snowmen and Terry Bears!

p.s. – below you will notice that I am using a new system for logging the products that I use in my post. You can just click on the picture and place it in the shopping cart or you can also print off the supplies that I use and keep it for reference for the future. ( click the supplies list link)

You might want to copy a picture of the post and keep it with the supply list and start a booklet of projects!

Hip-hip hooray! Hannah is home!

IMG_4622

Woot-woot for today!!! As you are reading this…John and I are probably at the airport waiting to see our beautiful daughter get off the plane (6 :30 a.m.) from her incredible adventure abroad she has been on!

For those of you that follow my blog…can you believe that 3 ½ months has ZOOMED by! She spent a month in India, 6 weeks in South Africa and a month in Brazil. We are so darn proud of her and I feel that this experience has been a “life changer” for her.

Sorry for the rambling but I am so excited for her as John and I have never had opportunities like this (her brothers also did great abroad trips…. Italy and Australia) as John and I stay in little old Williamsport, MD….(but I wouldn't change it for the world!)

She will have many traditions at home for her when she arrives back to the house but this card with some beautiful tulips will greet her when she walks through customs (we both share a love for tulips).

IMG_4616

I think that this card sums it up…”hip-hip hooray!” and then inside sentiment of “knew you could…knew you would”  -  Bold and fun is just what Hannah is and I couldn’t resist looking at the sample in the catalog (page 132) for the inspirations but you can see that I added some fun twists!

IMG_4617

I knew that I needed to have an “odd size” and “large” (4 X 6) card as I had soooooo much to say to her. I am so darn tootin’ excited to sit and have a dinner that will last for hours chatting….looking at pictures and simply “taking it all in”. She wanted homemade Lasagna, Salad…..great bread and butter! (darn, I love real butter)

IMG_4612

I used the vellum paper and heat embossed it with the sentiment from the Bravo Stamp set and Be The Star Stamp set with the white embossing powder!

Did you notice the colors…??? I “flipped over” the vellum and then used the Blendabilities to add some color and the best part is…you do not have to be so worried about being so perfect in your coloring as the white embossing will hide your boo-boo’s.

IMG_4615

I then added some “fun stars” to float around using the confetti stars fun punch and then I sealed it up using sticky tape. It is so important to make sure everything is sealed super tight and to cover the adhesive, I simply used a piece of ¼” piece of cardstock to cover it up!

Guess what….there are more colors of Blendabilities coming out with the new catalog!!!! YIPPEE-SKIPPY…..mine are already on order! I adore these markers and during the FUN TIME of Sale-A-Bration, you can also earn Blendabilites free instead of picking a product….how wonderful!

I hope that this has picked up your spirits today and remember about that clearance rack frenzy….there really are some great products in there and I swooped up what I wanted…..remember, it is while supplies last.

Thanks for all of the comments on dear Rosie….she is a sweetie and I cannot wait for Hannah to meet her! (They met via Skype on Thanksgiving) but in person will be a hoot! I know that all of the dogs are going to be crazy when they see her!

Hannah sent me an email saying that when we pick her up….can we go right to the barn? I adore her commitment and endless dedication to her horses….what a great young lady and we are super proud of her going to these countries learning and making suggestions on the health issues…it will be fascinating to hear all about her experiences!

Until tomorrow….a SUPER SIMPLE 3-D project that will be making you run to the store….and trust me – you'll be smiling!

MIMM on Friday!!!…”It’s a girl”

Screen shot 2014-11-29 at 10.40.35 AM
Now I ask you….how could I say no to this precious little girl…(well we almost did) but it was amazing what 24 hours did to her and she was our Thanksgiving unexpected addition to the family…but as my wonderful John says…."What's one more" – (he is great…a saint!)

With the holiday…the extravaganza…all of the days are all mixed up this week but I couldn't let you all down on trying a personal sketch! Below you will see the sketch I picked (thanks to the wonderful internet) and I hope that you give it a try and also like my take on it!

And don't forget….TODAY the Clearance Section is FILLED with NEW goodies to roll out!!! Click here to see and get going….remember, while supplies last!

I woke up to give you my top picks and YIKES – there are so many great products in there…just look and then re-look as there are some real keepers.

True these items are going to be discontinued, but if YOU like it and YOU think that you will use it….I say go for it! To me Bright Blossoms Stamp Set is in this group….I still use that set all the time as I adore the simplicity of it and it is a "go-to" stamp for a quick thank you!

And the ribbon….HELLO to packaging – my Cherry Cobbler "go-to" is still there and some great bakers twine!

FMS43

It's a very basic but a fun layout…I would call this a "keeper" on when you are in a time crunch to come up with an idea! Can't wait to share with you my take!

IMG_4607

Some designer paper here….some solid there….some stitching here and some dimensionals there! This card came together in a snap!

Here are some quick dinensionals for you!

  • The Flower Pot DSP is 4 1/2" X 2 1/2" and the Night of Navy is 3 3/4" X 1 3/4" and then stitched with the White Gel Pen.
  • To make the "bone" so easy….I used Blushing Bride for my little girl and the dimensions are 4" X 1 1/8"  and then the "ends" are a 1" circle punch.

IMG_4609

Heat Embossing the "It's a Girl" was perfect for this card. I adore this stamp set and I have used it sooo many times! It is called A Dozen Thoughts and it is a keeper of all keepers….and it does need to be on that UPS Truck to get to your house! You can click here and get going!

As I posted last night….Stampin' Up! just added a bunch of new goodies into the Clearance Rack…."swoop them up" as many of the new items will be gone before you know it….remember, it is while supplies last Click here to see the items!

Now let's get to my new little girl! She is just adorable and acts like she has lived here for years! She is just 1 1/2 years old and was not in a good home. She already had a littler of puppies (which should NOT HAVE HAPPENED and she only had 1) and was for sale at a yard sale for $25.00.

A friend of mine that knows that I adore Jack Russell's shared with me her picture and the dog rescue that was trying to get her from the people. I adore a challenge and when it comes to my animals….I will stop at just about nothing!

IMG_4609

The night before Thanksgiving John and I drove to meet these (2 very interesting to say the least) individuals at a gas station and "Mission Accomplished" we were able to have them agree to give her to us and if we did not keep her, she would go to the rescue until a foster home was found!

The rest is history….she ADORES John (I am still a bit green over that) but her 4 big brothers, Eddie, Jack, Charlie and Norman love their new sister! She's a keeper and it is a wonderful feeling giving her a chance to be a dog and have fun….but more importantly…be safe!

Tomorrow is a magical day for John and I….please pop back and see why…..enjoy the day – thanks for popping by and until tomorrow!

p.s. – I am a smart shopper….in the clearance today is the Burlap and Blooms Wreath Kit….if you use the burlap (you get 7 yards) and linen thread – it is worth getting this as you will get the ribbon alone a lot less than if you ordered it separately – remember, I adore to pull the threads of that ribbon for accents….it makes such a soft and fun feel!
