Take me away with Sale-a-bration!

Up…Up and Away! Here is a “happy card” for you today and it is filled with (3) Sale-a-Bration items and the amazing bundle Lift me Up! At first glance it looks like it is hard to make because there is a lot going on but put down your coffee and examine it…it is super easy yet super fun!

A couple of weeks ago Jeanie and I went to another SUD workshop and made a “bendy” card (boy, was I challenged but it was FUN) but I took the base part that I created and re-created it for you today as I thought that it was a keeper of a card that would bring an instant smile.

The reality of it is…this below bundle just creates GREAT cards as it is so well thought out. Do you see the framelits to the lower left? There are the “dream pieces” that you can cut out to add behind the balloon – this is just one of the things that I love about this bundle…so easy to use!

I have a couple of great shots for you to see close up how I used those framelits that I just chatted about…the peach and watermelon wonder behind the white balloon is a cinch to add.

I “doubled up” the dimensionals behind the big balloon and then the one to the right, I just did a single layer of dimensionals. I love the look of having some flat and then the others staggered in height!

The carried away FREEBIE has been a huge hit with this bundle and I took advantage of making sure I am using it to the max myself as I love the colors.

Look how easy this is…a simple piece of the DSP that is 1 1/4″ high just MAKES this card. I will say…out of all of the paper in this pack – I thought that this was going to be the hardest to use but LOOK – it is so easy and it looks like a hard card but it is super easy!

I ask you….isn’t this an “uplifting” card? (ha-ha) 😀  there is something about big beautiful Hot Air Balloons that make you feel like dreaming as you look up in the sky and say WOW – wouldn’t that be FUN to take a ride.

Another thing that I love about this bundle is the clouds – there are 4 different sizes and they are very realistic to use. (Many times I am not a fan of clouds but there is something about these puffy little guys) I took a sponge dauber and lightly added soft sky to the edges.

Step it Up Sunday!

You know the drill….it is time to see how I “stepped it up a bit” from yesterdays card – some of you have an INSTANT like and then many of you could take either one.

This stamp set/bundle, Bunch of Blossoms is a versatile one and when I was typing up this post I found another great card that did before and there are some great tips with it – you can CLICK HERE to see that post  and HERE for another (silly Susan, it was a weekend post before but heck – what can I say….it’s a keeper set.) 😎

Here you go….side by side – YOU DECIDE! Darn, the camera does not do these cards justice but I think that you will see the close ups that have for you – the POP of color is fun and remember – this paper pack, Tasty Treats is NOW A SAB FREEBIE!!!!

Personally, I think that it was great that SU added 3 super papers to choose as a SAB item…we all love paper! (make sure that you see the offerings below at the end and use the correct numbers to get them FREE with a $50+ order)

This fun and bold stripe DSP makes the watermelon wonder flower POP off the page. I love yellows but I do think that So Saffron wins my heart because you can put it with bolds, and it works…..you can put it with subtles, and it works….it is just a great color with so many papers that you put with it.

Do you see the subtles enamel shapes? Isn’t it amazing how these little fun shapes add not only a dimension….but it adds a fun flair – with the saying, less is best works! When I use them I like to use 3 of them….there is something about “3” that works each and every time.

The sparkle embossing folder was used on both cards but it is interesting at how “a color” embossed gives a totally different feel. The size of the embossed piece is 4″ X 4 1/4″ and I just adhered that with fast fuse before the “fun” is added just like yesterday.

Something that I did not mention yesterday, I used a bone folder to gently curl the flower petals before I adhered them to the circle that I put the flower on. Helping the fibers of the paper to get softer with the bone folder makes a world of difference.

If you wanted to “conserve” DSP…you could take the time to measure the paper to fit in between the embossed piece…I did not – but you could easily do so with little extra time.

Same drill as always, a pretty envelope to finish the fun card. I really hope that the mailman does smile when he see a pretty envelope!

Here is your card to PIN….I had an email that some were having issues PINNING yesterday. You should be able to just hover over the picture and the “P” will pop up and you are good to go. I will check into it tomorrow to see if there is a glitch…..

I have had a L O N G past several days and if you have emailed me, I will be playing “catch up” tomorrow. It is amazing at how tired you get from driving and also how tiring it is just being away from your own home, your own routine. I am so glad that I took time to take my Dad to see his brother. It was fun for the 2 of us to be together.

The amount of days is changing again….only 6 more days of SAB left….only 6 more days let of DOUBLE PAW PRINTS for you! I will be back on Tuesday but feel free to email me if you have any questions or need help. Monday is my “catch up” day so I will do my best to get back to you!

I am off again today to spend a day with Jeanie and Rosanne – we are going to a class and I know that we are going to have a FUN time….this was planned WAY IN ADVANCE before I knew that I would be going to Uncle George’s….but you know how we always find that inner energy to make it happen and I am SUPER excited to learn some new techniques.

Simple Saturday…a perfect day!

Good Saturday to all….If it is Saturday than that means that is Simple Saturday – the 1st of our weekend post where I try to share with you 2 different ways to make a fun and simple card.

I will say right out if the gate.because I am so “simple”…I was scared to death to try to be a turtle and stick my head out to try double stamping (I always that was for the people that REALLY new their Stampin’ stuff!) ~ does this ring a bell to anyone?

Well…I made the decision that I need to “give it a try” because I was seeing more and more stamp sets using this method and guess what??? – it is SUPER EASY and if Simple Susan can do it…you can do it to!

Before we get to this card, we need to announce the winner from yesterdays post. I have to tell ALL of you that left comments…THANK YOU…because my heart and “joy tank” was filled as I would look at my phone and read comments while sitting with my Dad and Uncle yesterday…if you did not get a chance to read them – please do yourself a favor and just read the wonderful Easter memories that many shared.

To the winner…..drum roll ~ drum roll…..Pat Preszler…YOU WON!!!

Woot –Woot to you and hop around the room and do a bunny dance and then email me your address and I will send you the FUN refill for this great kit.

Now to the card….it is a keeper in my eyes – very classic and a smile maker for sure! Do you remember on Tuesday we were chatting about CASEING (Copy And Share Everything)…well this is exactly where this card came from.

Being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator we get a perk of a fantastic magazine that comes out quarterly and you know me – I swoop through it and try to be inspired. It is filed with inspiration, ideas, tips and great articles for the hobby demonstrator as well as the business builder demonstrator.

You can see where I was going with today’s inspiration and I do hope that you will pop back tomorrow to see how I changed it up a bit…..When I saw the above inspiration, I thought – I HAVE NOT USED THAT STAMP SET in a while….so it is the focal bundle for this weekends post (It’s a bundle because it has a punch with it)

I have some “pretty pictures” for you to see this up close to take it all in….do you notice that I am using 3 of the upcoming retired In Colors? (I should have used the Mint Macaron to make it 4) but I used Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush and Tip Top Taupe for the sentiment.

The beauty of this stamp set it that you can use the same color 2 and sometime 3 if there is a triple image stamp and it appears that you are using several colors. Does that make sense to you?

Let me try to explain better…..the watermelon wonder was stamped to make a petal ….then I took the next stamp that had more detail and inked that up and stamped over top of the first petal…by doing this you get an instant shading because you are adding more color and in turn – YOU ARE LOOKING LIKE A PRO! 😀

YOU all enabled ME to give Tip Top Taupe a chance….because I admit, I have used the paper a bunch but I have not given the same love to the ink….but today – here you go….this incredible sentiment is stamped in this In Color that it getting ready to walk the plank in a couple of months! I LOVE the subtle look of it – thanks for the gentle nudge!

Don’t you just love the “watercolor look” of this stamp. It is just a beauty and naturally the color ideas are endless. Here is a tip: I actually popped out all of the pieces that I needed for this 2 day post and THEN I stamped it. WHY????? I admit, sometimes it is hard to do your stampin’ and then just try to get that 1 pedal and you feel like you are loosing paper.

This way, I take a long piece of white scraps and just punch away and because it is a photopolymer…..I can see right through it and BAM – easy-peasy!

One more look at this beauty and I hope that you are smiling. Not only is the sentiment a keeper, the whole card is one that would surely bring a smile to all! I couldn’t resist using the sparkle embossing folder…..but I have some SAD NEWS……this is already SOLD OUT AS A FREEBIE for Sale-a-bration……

You can still purchase it as you would normally do, but the limit that Stampin’ Up! had for a FREEIE for SAB as ALL GONE 🙁  (Early bird gets the worm)….

Here is your picture to PIN to the wonderful cyber world. I think that we all agree that a card like this will go for many occasions. Take off that sentiment and put something totally different ~ BAM….good to go!

You can see by the charts below that things are getting sold out as we wind down SAB. We still have next week so don’t hesitate as you can clearly see…things DO sell out!

Remember, double paw prints until the end of SAB – now I know THAT makes many super happy and I get it, I would be happy as well!

Enjoy the day…..grab some sunshine as we are to have nice weather on the East Coast and I hope to see you back here tomorrow!

Hippity-Hoppity….it’s BLOG CANDY!

Good Morning and because I am put of town I thought that you all deserved a chance to win some BLOG CANDY! We all love to have the change to win but we even love it better when we win! 😀

Whenever I have these opportunities for Blog Candy I just love the responses I get from the winners…it usually goes something like this….I NEVER win a thing….or I popped on and thought I saw my name and then I looked again and it was my name…..fun times!

I am sure that you have seen on many blogs the Paper Pumpkin Kit this month, it is simple ~ it is ADORABLE and you can have the opportunity to win a refill kit….the minute I saw that they were available – I HOPPED (ha-ha) on it and purchased several for my peeps, their friends and my friends. (trust me, I will make a ton of these guys and have them handy to brighten many people.)

Now you might be saying….the refill? What about the stamp set – I am not  Paper Pumpkin Subscriber….no worries….if you do not have access to the stamp set with yourself or a friend…I will be glad to send you mine after I stamp all of their cute faces on the project!

I know that this might seem silly but I think that we can always have fun making cute projects like this – the young and the old all love being reminded of fun Easter memories. Grab a cup of coffee…its a quick video….

I did not have a bunch of time to go searching before I left with my Dad but here is a link to Pinterest that has some cute alternatives. I have not honestly had the chance to open mine but after watching the above video…I know that I am going to have FUN but I know that I will make some tweaks to add my Susan flair.

What do you have to do?????

How about leaving me a comment of a tradition that you have or remember about Easter. It can be anything….it is always just so much fun to read and get to know what everyone does…..here are a couple of mine!

  • Making an Easter Egg Tree with Plastic Eggs in our front yard and my kids were always horrified that I did that (heck – I thought it was fun….my Mom always did it)
  • Having scavenger hunts with the kids to find their baskets
  • Dying Eggs….(John and I STILL DO IT…..)
  • Memories of trying to get the kids dressed…ready EARLY to go to church and getting in the car …..going – WE DID IT…..we actually are on time! ( remember those days Moms out there….when we thought that there was NO WAY that we could pull it off)
  • Making homemade goodies to give to loved ones….

This is a fun thing to do….go down that Memory Lane that we all hold so dear to our heart. Tomorrow I will share with you the winner….I look forward to reading your comments!

Don’t forget….the days are coming to an end but remember – DOUBLE PAW PRINTS FROM ME….that in itself should be making you twitch your nose!
