Pals Blog Hop ~ From the Heart…

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects showcase themes that are “from the heart.” This includes any of the following themes… Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

YIPPEE~ SKIPPEE I am super happy for the 1st Blog Hop if the year for the PALS! This is always a fun day and you can be a leap frog and hop from one amazing blog to another! WOW ~ there is a ton of talent out there and be a sponge and soak it all up!

I was trying to think of a card that would be perfect blank (without a sentiment on the front) so when you need a card for all of the above themes…Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy you have one ready to rumble and you can stamp the sentiment of your choice in the inside!

You just can’t go wrong with the classic and there is nothing more classic than a “heart” Below you can see that this is one special heart as the amount of detail is spectacular.

Having a card that is blank is super handy to have and I am a big believer that when you make one card….why not make many??? – just POUND THEM OUT and then you will always be prepared!

Here is a tip for you….I just love to share tips! I realize that this is a very detailed thinlit – that’s why it is so darn special but some might be looking at this and thinking “what a pain in the drain this must be to adhere” Well….NO – I feel like you have (2) choices.

  • Use a product called Stick It – click here as this is a super thin adhesive that you place your card stock over and then run it through the Big Shot like normal…….and then there is a release paper that is super easy to remove and POOF!!!!! You detailed die is ready for you to adhere.
  • The other option is to use good old fashion Green Glue, if you follow my blog…one of my motto’s is….GREEN GLUE to the rescue! 🙂

The pictures above and below will give you an insight of how I added just an extra step to make the finished card look super special (as heck, aren’t all cards that we send out special?”)

Those little (2) flowers that are in this set are a breeze to cut out ~ you are good to go with green glue or a mini glue dot

Sorry for the “wonky color” of these 2 pictures but I think that you can see how I scored the top and bottom of the card. I thought it needed a little something and this is a trick that I do often and it is very stunning when you hold the card in your hand. I do prefer the Simply Scored Board as I feel I can get a deeper score!

Now we are back to the good color (heck – I thought my eyes were bad) I love pictures like this below when you can see the side angle of the project. This is so classic and crisp in the Whisper White and I always love the additional layers of flowers…..it is the little oomph that take it to that “special level”

If you follow my blog you know that I adore my envelopes! I can honestly say that there is not one card that leaves Randall Lane without some sort of love. Today I carried the theme of the card by scoring a piece of Rose Red card stock that was 3/4″ wide and then below it added the Rose Red Flower Pattern from the Regals DSP Stack! The icing on the cake!

Well…what do you think? I think that it is one classic card that could easily “fit the bill” for each of these themes that we are HOPPING about today! Now you need to GET GOING and click on the next Blog listed below! Have fun and enjoy your day!

Tips for your Tuesday!

I bet that we will get a bunch of chatting going on today and I am excited to read your comments about today’s post. I know that there is always one thing that gets your attention ORGANIZATIONAL TIPS and IDEAS. It seems that we always like to learn, think about it, perhaps try it….or file it away in our brain for the future!

It is about being organized. (I can hear Chris R. from, Iowa right now taking a deep sigh) 🙂 Let’s face it, WE COLLECT STUFF...and I know YOU know what I mean…I can see you out there just thinking of all of the buttons, trinkets, sequins etc…WE HAVE THEM!

I am starting this post with this great quote that I have used before and then at the end I will share with you another….they are both “keepers” and they both will make you think and “take inventory” of your habits! 🙂

This gem I purchased from Amazon after watching a Jennifer McGuire video….At a glance you will think that there is no way that it will hold much but you will be soooooooo surprised! I purchased it on Amazon and here is the link. It is worth every penny as it has made me organize sooooo many little things that need a home in ONE PLACE!

I have a confession, I did have the spinning thing that Stampin’ Up! had (I looked in the catalog but could not find it – I think that it has been discontinued) but I can say the biggest issue I had with that was the height and it just did not fit my needs as I felt like there was wasted space. (Hopefully this makes sense)

Here is a picture of mine….I am a happy stamper. I had a date with all of the “little things” I have collected and decided the ones I wanted to keep….pulled out old faithful – the P-Touch Label Maker and BAM….all of my embellishments organized!

At this time of the year I seem to be a cleaning and organizing fool and I have been taking a good look at my work area and what works for me and what doesn’t! I discovered that I had a bunch of odds and ends and this storage method worked!

I have discovered that I have many…many little things that I just cannot seem to part with. I will say and I am proud of myself – when I went through things and said, “I have never used it…well chances are I will never use it” so – in a box it goes to give to someone that I thing would use it or I keep a box for Girls Inc. as they love to do crafts and I know that they are put to use!

Just think if you were going away for a weekend retreat or just to a friends house to scrap…this would be perfect to just pick up and go. I am tickled with it and I love the fact that this slides right in a drawer!

Now for the other quote for the day….this is an interesting one and I will say…it makes you think!

There you go…a tip for your Tuesday! I think that it is super fun to read and learn from what others do! If you have the chance, please leave us a comment! See you tomorrow….it’s a BLOG HOP DAY….YIPPEE!!!!

p.s.I admit, I am an AMAZON junkie. I adore the convenience of it mainly because it has EVERYTHING and I can order from my home. I will say that you might want to check on this product every so often because when I purchased it in December, I paid $19.99 and now I see that it is $26.00.

Do I think that it is worth $26.00 – ABSOLUTELY but I was surprised to see the difference. I usually do not pay that much attention to this when ordering from Amazon because they are amazing and I get my things sometimes the next day because there is a warehouse in Baltimore.

“Jane” is back in the house!

Hello and here is to a NEW week and a week of fun on Simple Stampin’. Yesterday when I was down at the barn trying to ignore the fact that it was FREEZING I decided to play a game with myself and plan my week of posts for you and I think that you are going to like what I have in store!

Now the reason I used this title for today’s post is simple….it is a super simple, rather “Plain Jane” card and trust me….it is a keeper! Now if you name is “Jane” – please do not take offense …I have (2) friends named Jane and they are NOT plain at all…actually they are both super fun!

Now how about this A M A Z I N G stamp set that is a part of Sale-A-Bration 2017 and this font is a GRAND SLAM out of the ballpark! Just take a look at this BIG beauty and also, the little sentiment words…fun, clean and classic! Remember, this stamp set can be yours for free with a $50.00 order (before shipping and taxes) but the sky is the limit with how many freebies you can earn….spend $100 – you get to pick 2 goodies…..

I have shared this before with you but I am sure that I have followers that have not heard this. When I started stampin’ up (about 5 years) ago…I thought that the color Sahara Sand was not the best…it was a dirty looking…grayish…..BLAH!!!! Well, was I wrong and I challenge you to give it a try.

Try it with all colors – you will be soooooo amazed. It is truly a neutral that will work with anything and it gives a feel like no other! The size of the Sahara Sand is 4″ X 5 1/4″ and then stamped in Sahara Sand. My stamp pad was well inked and I was thrilled with the look….so much, I stamped 12 of them to have on hand because I just adore this simple card!

Here are a couple of pictures that you will get a kick out of. As I said abouve, I stamped it in Sahara Sand but look at the below picture, I had a “wobble moment” and there was a wee bit of ink that made a mark.

I wanted to show you this because WE ALL KNOW IT HAPPENS TO THE BEST OF US….but there are ways to hide your boo-boo’s! That is why in the end I placed a sequin over top and PRESTO no one would ever know and actually it adds to the card!

Now let’s chat about the other fun of the card….the fireflies! THIS IS ONE HOT BUNDLE and yep, I would only purchase this as a bundle as you can see that the stamp set is fabulous and the sentiments, perfect for many cards that we will make!

Look at the detail….this is an exciting addition and I think that we are all going to get a bunch of use from this one! I invite you to look at the sample they have below. Notice the button….doesn’t that look amazing with that linen thread? I do not know about you….but I have a ca-zillion buttons and I plan to use them like you see below!

I need to back up to when I was in school….Biology and I dd not hit it off when we had to dissect things…..but today, we are doing some surgery on the fireflies! The below picture will show you the fire flies that I created for this simple card!

I did use my paper snips which worked like a dream but then as I was doing more of them I thought… what about my craft cutter. That would super as well but if you do use this – PLEASE BE CAREFUL or just stick to the paper snips! (ALSO, no stressing here….just go for it – remember YOU are the only one that knew that they were together….

I admit that I find this craft knife very handy but it is SUPER SHARP….here is the one that I like because of the “soft grip” handle.Hang on in ordering it as tomorrow is TIPS for your Tuesday and I have another Amazon product that you will love! (just saying) 🙂 I am such an enabler!

You can see that the Sahara Sand was lifted off of the Very Vanilla base – THAT IS IT!!!! Sooooo simple. I did add a piece of craft foam behind the piece and I love the feel in your hand and also it goes through the mail perfectly!

Green Glue was my friend for the adding of the fireflies….but I will admit, once I started making many of these I switched to Stick It as WOW….no waiting time and no potential mess!

Here is your picture for the future…..hover over it and you can Pin away! I was scratching my head for the envelope fun and then Plan B – an Embossing Folder – works great!

One clean and simple, yet beautiful card! This is a stamp set that will be on Randall Lane forever as I adore the font!

Let’s all have a great week! I hope to see you back here tomorrow because I have a TIP for you that I think that you are going to love. HEADS UP to all that adore embellishments…..this one is FOR YOU and it makes me smile everyday I look at it!

It is still bitter cold on the East Coast so please be careful and stay safe! To me, it’s a great time to stay in and craft! See you in the morning….get ready to shop at Amazon ~ you will love it!

A super easy THANK YOU for your Sunday!

Are you scratching your head saying – “Where in the heck is this stamp set?” Well, it is on page 53 in the Occasions Catalog and I think that this is a stamp set that many of you are going to “pass right by” but I say – it is a KEEPER!

I love the fonts, I love the sentiments, and I love the sheer FUN of the set – very modern and fun! John asked me for some “thank you” cards and this is what I came up with!

p.s. – he is happy! 🙂

This card is soooooo easy that you really do not need me….you just need the supplies, and we know that is super easy to do…..just click away!

Remember, with every $50.00 purchase you will be able to pick a FREEBIE from Sale-a -bration (the sweetest time of the Stampin’ Up! year) do you have a FAVORITE?????….please leave me a comment DO TELL!

Before we get to the “meat and potatoes”….I have a confession, I deleted many pictures and I did not realize it until I posted this!…..It’s ok as it is super simple yet I think special! If you need me for clarity, just email me…..I will be happy to help!

I will do a post on my “heart throb favorites” in this new catalog but I will give you a “heads up” – this is below favorite is one of them! Again, the picture does not do it justice…you need to see it in person to appreciate it!

I adore it and I have already purchased several packs of it as I am showcasing it on a card in my monthly classes in the mail! Heck, if we can not be together in person, having me in the mail is the next best thing!

Do you also remember all of the comments about masculine cards….I say – H E L L O ….here you go! This is just ONE STUNNING paper collection!

As my Mom always said, you can never go wrong with Navy…and I think that you can see where I get my wisdom from! She was an amazing person and I know that she would have loved this card!

Please do not be afraid to let the DSP shine! Georgette has taught me that as she always produces such amazing cards….when it gets right down to it…..paper is not super expensive…so USE IT!

Are you surprised???….this is heat embossed and I think that the silver looks GREAT on the navy! When I 1st showed it to John, I thought he would not like the shiny part of the silver….but “THUMBS UP” – and POOF – his wife produced a stash for him!

Now for a funny! I know that I totally messed up with the pictures today 🙁  (sorry) – but I simply did not have it in me to go back upstairs and retake them….I think that this great card is soooo straight forward that you “get it”

I know that many of you like the “Happenings on Randall Lane” and I have some animal pictures and stories for you! Horses are sooooo darn tootin’ smart and Oscar is just a dream! We bought him actually for me but then Hannah’s horse became injured and she ended up showing him for many years but now he is back to me, the “EASY RIDE” compared to Hannah!

When Hannah was home over the holidays she wanted to go down and give him some TLC and an extra special grooming! Well…her bubble was burst as when she went to his field he would let her catch him….(something he did quite often) when they were competing and it would drive Hannah NUTS because he always comes to me (YEP, I am the EASY STREET…the basic of all basics when I ride him) 🙂

Well…I was at the grocery store and Hannah turned  to John for help and she texted me this picture…..is this PRICELESS OR WHAT! She took it on her phone so I had to blow it up a bunch for you to get the “fun” so the quality is not the best….here is Dear old Dad on his knees (most likely with a carrot) pleading with him to let him bring him in!

John is the best, he is not a horse person by nature but he sure does tolerate them (and ME)! I thought that this was a sweet story to share! I actually would have loved to have heard what he was saying….it was probably something like…..“I can’t believe that I am on my knees trying to convince you to let me catch you and if you do anything to me…..damn, the things I do for Hannah and Susan…..now stand still and eat this damn carrot and let me put a lead rope around you” 😀

Now to my little buddy Milo. As many of you know it you have followed my blog, I adore animals but I cherish my dogs. I miss my dear sweet Eddie each and everyday and honestly there is not a day that goes by that he is not in my thoughts….he was the BEST FRIEND anyone could of ever asked for!

Well…I was at a Horse Show in Sept of 2015 and if you remember I adopted Milo for Earlene, one of my Mom’s friends! Earlene is so special to me and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she was in the hospital this week. Milo is the BEST pick me up for her…and he sure has filled a void in my life with Eddie not being around!

I take him to her house and she lights up like 4th of July and it makes my heart happy! He is always so perfect and hops right up in her lap and leaves off right where they were from the previous visit! This is something that she looks soooooo forward to and I can say that on Christmas Eve, Milo and I hopped in the car and went to give “Nana” a hug and a super quick visit….it completed my Holiday Eve!

Well….enough about Randall Lane….I thought because I was a bit “short” with the pictures today that I would give you some GREAT SMILE MAKERS, my animals!

You know that I get “giddy” with heat embossing and I know that you do as well. Just always to remember to have your “shhhhhhh….secret weapons handy” – the embossing buddy, a super cheap small paint brush if needed, and a good heat tool that is good and hot before you bring it to your embossed area!

This is a card that anyone would be super proud to receive! I am just head over heels with the simplicity of it but even more so that John asked me to make him MORE CARDS! He truly is the best….and also the BEST (and only) blind date I was ever on!

I hope that you have a FABULOUS day and if you are in bad weather….be safe! Sonny, I hope that you are safe as Hannah said that she had snow and you all in North Carolina seem to go in panic mode when there is snow! Tomorrow I will share with you a FUNNY picture that she sent to me! PRICELESS!

Remember, shopping in your jammies is really – REALLY on trend! (Heck – you go to the normal stores and people have heir jammies on) so Stampin’ Up! shopping is “just fine”

Please share my blog with your friends and family! I love what I do and I love helping you as I believe that each one of us has the inner talent and desire to create. It doesn’t have to be a Picasso…it just needs to be from your heart!

See you tomorrow!
