Step it up Sunday!

Here you go….basically the same card from yesterday but I stepped it up a bit here and there. I must admit, I get a bit worried that you will be disappointed and look at it an say – "It looks the same" but trust me, when you have them side by side, you can see the difference even though it is so subtle.

Below you will see a collage picture of them side by side with some comments. Please click on the picture to see it larger and I think it will help you.

Underneath I will share with you some tips of what I did! I am so happy that many of you enjoyed this card…this really is a wonderful stamp set and you can see the effectiveness of stamping tone on tone…just wonderful!

PicMonkey Collage

As I shared yesterday, key players for this card are…green glue, silicone craft sheet and craft scissors. It is great that as you work, if you get excess glue…no big deal as the silicone mat to the rescue and the craft scissors make it a dream to cut off the excess!

Here are the change ups today:

  • I cut the black piece 1/4" smaller to let some white peak out.
  • I added the white gel pen dots to the solid green flower in the back.

  • After putting stampin' dimensionals to the back of the flower and the sentiment, I added some white bakers twine – this is so easy and it certainly adds a fun and fresh flair.

Let's touch on the banner, I had some emails about it. It is a 1" strip of paper and I used the NEW punch that cuts (3) different banners in a simple punch. It is a must have speed tool when the new catalog comes out.

Sure we can easily make our own cuts for a banner but this is a dream punch – a true time saver and then I added the dots with the Cucumber pen – easy-peasy!

One FUN card full of color and just think if the endless color combinations you can use! No rules….just have fun! Please remember that tomorrow will be your last day to take advantage of getting the hexagon punch at 25% off.

Thanks for popping in and I hope that you are having as fun of a weekend as I am.It is wonderful to see Hannah so happy with her school and her friends!

I do invite you to consider taking a test drive with me and Stampin' Up! The Pals are fun and inspiring, I think that I am fun as well and you have nothing to lose….please feel free to email me and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have!

I hope to see you tomorrow….

Show & Tell Saturday!

Yippee  – it is Saturday! On Thursday I had a comment that dear Caleb (remember…the kindergarten tike that had a spelling test) had to put his sun glasses on to see my post! Well today, he might need to put them back on! I love the FUN and FRESH colors of this card and I hope that you do as well!

I am doing the happy dance with the new in color of Cucumber Crush (and that is one vegetable that I do not care for) but it is soooo classic paired up with basic black & white and the other POP color is melon mambo!

I thought I would showcase the hexagon punch as it is on the weekly deals this week so that is a woot-woot as you will save 25% and the stamp set is the Six Sided Sampler and YES – it will be staying with us so I thought that this 2 day post would be a win-win all the way around!

The other NEW product that I am using today is the NEW Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack….the design are fabulous, you can click here to see the post I did showcasing them and today I used the flower design in black! To me, these are a total keeper as you will always have a perfect compliment to the project that you are making!

I hope that you will pop back tomorrow to see how I have "stepped it up" – when you break this card down, it is super simple and one that you can make multiples of and if you need to change up the sentiment..than GO FOR IT!

Below you will see a series of pictures that will show you the "how to's"….please feel free to email me if you have any questions on how to make this fun card! The card is a white A-2 vertical card but I used a piece of black the same size as the card to work off of and then adhered it to the card base.

The other stamp set that I used and YES – it will be with us for another year…it is Beautiful Bunch and it also has a punch that POPS it out – a total win-win! (You can see the products that I have used for this post in the scrolling store at the end) I just love our punches that match – WOW – what a time saver!

Today, I used a plain Cucumber Crush flower to accent behind the focal flower! This card is completely flat…no dimensionals today….but POP back tomorrow and see what I have up my sleeve!

Well, how do you like this fun and bold card?I know by sight it looks like a bunch or work…but if you break it down you can do it in steps…and it will be a keeper!

I am excited for you to see the new catalog, the new inspirations….but I must admit, I think that Stampin' Up! did a fabulous job in keeping the "keepers"…and sometime the "keepers" are ones that we might "forget about" but they are still shining stars!

Have a fabulous day and please pop back tomorrow to see how I stepped it up!

Thank You Card for May!

Woot-woot. it's the weekend! I am super excited for this weekend as Hannah's boyfriend, Aidan is graduating from college. It will be fun to be with his family and also get to see her friends! Fun times!!!

Here is this months Thank You card from me! I just mailed Aprils out yesterday along with the NEW catalog – I figured I might as well wait and do it all at once…so for all of you that ordered $25.00 or more from me last month, get excited!!!

Here is a hostess code K3VX2TKD that you can put on your order and one person will be able to reap the Hostess Benefits – I will close this hostess code on May 31st.

This is what my kitchen table looked like yesterday. It was an assembly line of fun for you. I think that you all are going to like the "book marks" I made for you showcasing the new In Colors. You have heard me say countless times how fun it is being a Pal…how many resources we have at our fingertips…well this bookmark was designed by a pal Julie Dimatteo and she graciously shared it in our facebook group for us to download – the PALS rock!

Here you go with the card that I will send to you for placing an order with me! I must say…I am beyond sad that this stamp set…(well actually both of them) are not going to be in the catalog next year. They are Petal Potpourri and So You (I adore these sentiments and script fonts)

I chose the base color (real red) and (very vanilla) as I was working with the Flashback DSP and I have GREAT news – in the new catalog there are more offerings of DSP that coordinates with Very Vanilla! YIPPEE-SKIPPEE!!!

I love doing tone on tone and I let the "dot" stamp in the set set the mood as I stamped red on red!

You can see that I carried the theme of the tone on tone dots with the envelope back. Always have fun with your envelopes – (It will make your mailman smile)

I know that there are bunches of new and fun things in the new catalog, but below is the bundle that I would order before it leaves on June 2nd. (Remember that the punch is staying so this is even more reason to purchase it now as a bundle – trust me, you will not regret it one bit!)

How can I get this card? Easy – just place an order from my website ($25.00 or more) until the end of this month and I will mail this to you as my way of saying "Thank you".

Remember that I offer a Rewards program that allows you to earn free stamps set…click here to see the guidelines..I thank you for your support.

Remember to joy this hostess code down if you are going to order anything between today and the end of the month. – K3VX2TKD

Today I will be sending out the catalogs to all that have ordered from me (that were not in April's bunch) so be on the lookout for your catalog! Have fun looking through it and making a wish list.

If you are not currently working with a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I would be happy to send you a catalog – simple email me and request one. Have a great day and until tomorrow!

It’s a PPA Day!

Happy Thursday….well – did you have fun at the PALS blog hop yesterday….whew – there were a bunch of hoppers and a bunch of inspiration. I am always so amazed at the ideas, talent and inspiration out there!

Today is a color challenge for the Pals Paper Art…here is the palette that we are working with this week. I encourage you to play and also pop over to the website to see what the design team came up with.

Screen Shot 2015-05-13 at 5.25.38 PM

The stamp set of the the day is Summer Silhouette and I am super happy that it is carried over for us to enjoy next year! Look at the images below and then let you mind wander to the possibilities that is will bring to your card making!

The sentiment I used today came from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set, this too will be with us for another year and I highly suggest that this is at your home as it is filled with fabulous sentiments and great fonts!

Let's get to it as it is a fun and crisp card filled with the bold colors of the palette! I must admit, I have not used these colors for a while but the boldness and brightness makes it a fun card.

  • Here we go with an A-2 card in the vertical position in the Tempting Turquoise. The white mat for both the inside and outside of the card is just 1/4" smaller, 5 1/4" X 4"
  • Below you will see that I did a trip of stamping in Pear Pizazz ….this is a great anchor for so many different layouts for you to have fun with!

  • Have fun and stamp with the flowers that are in the stamp set…but it is super fun to use a punch for a different texture…the best of both worlds – stamps and paper = a happy stamper!
  • Below you will see a close up of the all of the textures…do not be afraid to mix things up!

  • Confession time – I could not get a straight cut and became quickly frustrated so I did a super fast…super fun….wiggle cut all around the sentiment…this is a trick that I always did when I scrap booked when I wanted to cover a mistake…presto – a fun and different twist!

  • Confession time again! (I am always honest with you) I (somehow) had a speck of melon mambo on the front of the card…so out came the daffodil delight cotton ribbon! BINGO – a quick cover up! I adore this ribbon as it is super easy to work with and I adore the colors it comes in (I will be having it in my ribbon share)
  • Lastly the envelop fun…this is a DSP from the Sweet Taffy DSP…the perfect finale for a simple and bright card!

Thanks for your time today! I unfortunately need to go to a funeral today for an amazing women that has watched me grow up….has been a friend to my children while they were at school…and a true blue person that has touched soooo many lives…she is "Mrs. Barr" and has worked at the school where my children went for 63 years….THAT IS AMAZING!

It is a bittersweet time and yesterday it was wonderful seeing so many people that I have not seen in ages…life is a big circle…we all need to enjoy and embrace it.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions but I do hope that you will pop back tomorrow as I will share with you the card that I am sending to anyone that purchases from my website….Until tomorrow!

Pals Blog Hop: Out with the Old…

2015mayhop_badgeWelcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May where we are preparing for the retirement of some Stampin' Up! products.  Though it may be goodbye to some very loved supplies, it will make room for the much anticipated new catalog products.  We hope you enjoy the Pals' creative projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Amy Hoptay at Inking of You, #19 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Saying good-bye is hard…and we all know that we have favorites that will always be shining stars in our eyes and today I showcasing an all time favorite of mine, the Top Note Die.

You can see that I am sharing with you (2) totally different ways of using this versatile die…and if you follow my blog, you have seen me post about these many times.

For the purse you can click here to see the full scoop of ins and outs in how to make this and it is really so much easier than the instructions look like. Please know that you can always email me and I will be happy to help you make this gem!

Some of my all time favorites are in this purse…strawberry slush, back to black DSP, sticky strip, thick bakers twine and of course, the top note die.

I tried something different and used the thick bakers twine to make the fringe…I just thought this cute bag needed a bit of fru-fru to make it super special.

Next, my all time favorite fun box! You can click here to see the past posts that I have blogged about it and you will also see the ins and outs of the how to's! Again, I am here for you if you need help. I adore these….just adore them!

I hope that you can see the fun that you can have with making these fun projects. It truly is amazing what you can make out of paper and you can clearly see that you will receive smiles from those that receive these!
