STAMPS

EVERYTHING ELSE

Also, today is the LAST day to take advantage of the weekly deals…remember, these deals will be going away in the weekly format that we have been used to. There are some real keepers. Remember that post I did with the Rose Garden Thinlits Die….to die for!!!! This would be a die that you would not necessarily need the stamp set as you can easily use sentiments that you have!

I will be doing the exact same thing as you will be doing….I will be gasping…and then I will be saying, ok – I get that….it is just a fun time of the year with Stampin’ Up!

Remember, when you place an order with me that is $35.00+ I will send you this card….(click here) and then with orders of $75.00+ you will get a double whammy….the cute card and an aqua painter from me!

Have fun with the list!

A SUPER CUTE CARD WITH MY DEAR, “MR. FROG”

WOOT-WOOT…..it is Monday…it is a new week…it is a day that I have (2) posts for you!

I am soooooo darn happy that it is April 18th – 1st….my dear and wonderful hubbie will be able to end the Tax Season and be able to take a deep breathe and enjoy life….and 2nd –  I am happy is that that later today I can share with you the list of products that are going “bye-bye” and that I will be able to see the new catalog online!

This stamp set, You’re Sublime is staying put…….just like it should = I ADORE him (and the other images)! This is such a fun set and I must say, I have never used the sentiment that goes with him…I just mask it off and use another goodie!

139309G

This card is on its way to our “yours truly” Chris R from Iowa and we all need to leave her some love and comments as she ALWAYS brings a smile to us! She had a surgery and I thought that this card and our fun comments would bring a smile to her face!

I just couldn’t resist using these eyes….they are oldies but goodies from Stampin’ Up! and I knew that she would love them. This card is ridiculously simple but ridiculously fun!

IMG_5603

In keeping with my determination to get you to use your DSP as we all know that new KEEPERS will be with us super soon and YES, I will be doing a product share…..so here you go….USE UP YOUR PAPER….make your work space happy and clean it out!

138445G

I took this classic paper and used the aqua painter and filled in random hearts with Melon Mambo….so simple and so fun! One thing that I hope that “Mr. Frog” has taught you….you can use so many different sentiments to create a fun card.!

This sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts (and I do not know it is is going to be carried over but we WILL know later today) Use your stamps wisely….you can make soooooo may cards from great stamp sets!

IMG_5606

Here is the “low down” on our little sweet frog. Are you smiling? I am.

Sometimes I must admit, I need to pinch myself with how fun this is that I do.Stampin’ Up! is great. Stampin’ Up! is fun.

I have never met Chris but I feel blessed to have her as a cyber friend and a friend to many of you as she DOES make us laugh and smile!

IMG_5607

I’ll be back later today 3 p.m. Eastern time…..to share with you the retiring list. I honestly do not know what is on it but one thing that I do know is….there is not a darn thing we can do about it…I encourage you to think of it as….WOW – there must be some great things in the horizon!

The items will be, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST….so do not wait….ESPECIALLY the IN COLOR PAPER and INKS etc….(I think that there are still people mourning over Strawberry Slush last year) so don’t let this happen to you…..

Chris R. from Iowa…please feel better each and everyday…..we need and look forward to your wit and humor. Take it easy…let  “Mr. Frog” be your mascot. HUGS my friend! 🙂

Until later today….take a break from work…..

p.s. – I loved that Tricia, Ellen and Nancy picked “Mr. Frog” – he will be hopping his way into your mailbox with a super cute card! 🙂  xoxoxo

Step It Up Sunday…with confessions!

IMG_5576

Happy Sunday….here you go – the stepped up version of yesterday’s card. Later on I will share with you some confessions in making this card because I like to be totally honest with you in the ups and downs that I too go through when I make a card. The moral of the story is….there are times that you just have to roll with it and say….

It is handmade, not hallmark…it was made from your hands, not a machine!

Well…let’s get going…as in our Sunday tradition…here you go side by side….so you decide!

IMG_5574

I am keeping in our theme of USING UP OUR PAPER and today’s biggest difference is that I used the DSP as the card front focal part. This sweet print (From the It’s My Party DSP Stack) is a super sweet print in Mint Macaron. Little prints like this are fantastic…I love small prints because you can pull off using them like this card or you can also use them for paper piecing and also for cutting thin strips and making a fun background.

I stayed with the basic gray to mat the sentiment, I thought that black would have been too stark but I also could have easily just used Mint Macaron and rolled with a monochromatic look (I would try this…I think it would be stunning)

IMG_5584

Now to my confession. I am one that does not like to start over (unless I make a total no-brainer mess…..like a huge blob of ink). When I was making this card today, I used the gray pen to do my stitchin’…(Yesterday I used the Mint Macaron) I did not like the look of the gray – it was simply too dark 🙁

When things like this happen there is always a PLAN B!!! I knew that I was not going to start over as I had already cleaned and put away my stamp so I took a piece of solid paper, cut a thin piece of paper and covered up the part that I did not like! (If you look in the above picture you can see where I placed the strips)

IMG_5583

Everything else was basically the same…super sweet, super straight forward, super easy! You can see that making this card….(either versions) is a quick one and I am thrilled that the Flower Shop Stamp is being carried over. (My fingers are crossed that the Watercolor Words are as well….I guess we will have to wait and see tomorrow)

This weekend post I admit, there was not a dramatic difference…the difference is that I just used more DSP. Please do not be afraid to use your paper in this fashion. Our papers are beautiful and we need to let them “strut their stuff”

IMG_5578

From the angle of the above picture you can really see the pieces that I cut to cover up my boo-boo. Now technically, I could have taken the time to make exact cuts so you would not see any overlapping…but again, it is handmade and I like the look and feel of handmade!

I have another confession…I am GREEN WITH STAMPIN’ ENVY that I was not in Salt Lake City over the past several days for the unveiling of the new catalog. Mum is still the word but I get to peek at it online tomorrow…..(a great perk for being a SUD). I hear that it is fantastic and the I will love it…..darn, I tried and tried to get one of my friends to “spill the beans” but no luck!

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow…I know you will smile…it is one of my all time favorites that I know is being carried over…he holds a very special place in my heart (can you guess what stamp it is???)

Enjoy the day and go make someone smile! 🙂

Simple Saturday….

***sorry for the delay this morning….the computer and I were not getting along last evening*** 😈

IMG_5559

In keeping with the theme of the week…

USE UP YOUR DESIGNER SERIES PAPERS

Today’s card is showcasing just that plus (2) of my favorite stamp sets…Watercolor Words and Flower Shop. When you get to the end of this post you will see that I just showed the Flower Shop as a bundle….well yep – I did that on purpose as you know that I do not steer you wrong, this set you really will want the matching punch!

I think coordinating punches are one of the best “speed tools” we can have and today’s card you can clearly see that the flowers are popped out perfectly….and that makes us smile! 🙂

IMG_5565

It truly does not get any easier than this…I must admit, there are days that I look at my cards and think why does anyone need to see this as it is so simple and perhaps a bit boring….but remember when we have talked about developing a “style” that is in your comfort zone ~ well this is my comfort zone.

White card base…a layer on top…a 1″ piece of DSP…and the stamping….DONE  = works for me!

IMG_5567

In the above picture I popped up one of the flowers with one dimensional and then the flower to the right, I “doubled” up on the dimensionals – sometimes I think  this just gives an extra touch, creating extra depth. The white accents in the middle of the flowers are a soft touch and they are much easier to mail (as the are rounder)

IMG_5568

Let’s chat about this sentiment…don’t you just LOVE the font and the carefree script look it gives? I will be a sad Susan if this set, Watercolor Words gets on the retired list…I adore this set and have used it over and over and never get tired of it….this is what I call a true blue keeper set! (remember this list of retired products will be unveiled on Monday)

One thing that I do know…the Flower Shop Stamp set will be carrying over. Stampin’ Up! listed a very short list of some stamp sets that were in the catalog in case people wanted to make swap cards for the event that is taking place right now in Salt Lake City…….this makes me happy as I love these flowers.

IMG_5569

Let’s pull it all together in the last picture for the day…I love it – how about you???? Simple, Clean, Special….I could go on and on. Now I ask you – can you see yourself making this card?

I say…PULL OUT THAT PAPER that I know you have and make some cards. You will feel so much better using up your DSP and then the bonus – you have some cards on hand so when you need them…you are good to go!

IMG_5560

Have a great Saturday and my fingers are crossed that the cyber gods and I just were having a “moment yesterday”….it is to be a beautiful and SUNNY day here…no reason not to be happy and blessed with that!

  • Monday, April 18th 3 P.M. EASTERN TIME….the retired list will be posted and I will share it with you as soon as I get it …..so I am giving you a HEAD’S UP to have your catalog ready as the retired items are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.….the early bird gets the worm….(sounds like a great time to take a break at work)

When the retired list is unveiled – it is always a popular time for orders as just because they are being retired does not mean that they are not “keepers” – it is always a bittersweet time for all of us …soooooo – if there is a stamp set, a tool. a die….whatever that you have been looking at and it is on the “bye-bye birdie” list….I would grab it, again…while supplies last.

  • Monday evening, April 18th  ~ The weekly deals are coming to an end but please check the offerings out here as there are some AMAZING deals at 25% off. Stampin’ Up! is planning to revamp this offering to a larger scale several time a year rather than something weekly.

There are some fabulous offerings….like the thinlits….they are all keepers – I have blogged many great ideas using them…and you know how I feel about bakers twine…regular and thick – LOVE IT!!!! Whenever a thinlit is 25% off…I say go for it! (I will have to tell you….if you were a hobbyist you would get the 25% off plus an additional 20% or 25% off….now that is WOW!) It really is that easy!

When you receive your catalog…and see all of the new kids on the block, it is always great not to have to worry about buying all of the paper and ribbons etc….a product share gives you a taste of this and that without breaking your piggy bank (Daisey would be sad if you broke a piggy bank) 😥

I would love for you to be able to join the PALS fun and be a hobbiest…there are (2) thoughts about when would be a great time…please email me and I can further explain options and ideas!

  1. After Monday at 3 when the retired list is unveiled – this way you can get $125.00 of goodies and only pay $99.00 and then you will be able to view the NEW catalog on line and still take part in the pre-order. (also if there are weekly deals that you want, I would throw them in there as well)
