I couldn’t resist…

IMG_6401

I just adore this stamp set, From the Herd and you have seen me used it before but the thing I adore about it is that you can use it in so many different ways and each and every time the card looks different because of how you color it!

Today I am using a technique that I have not done in a while….watercoloring using the Aqua Painters! I have always loved using the Aqua Painters and honestly have not used the since the Blendabilities came out.

Watercoloring is fun, it is relaxing, and the one thing that I love is that you have such an array of colors with our color collection. I like to squeeze the ink pad together to get a "puddle" of ink on the cover and then go in with the Aqua Painter.

IMG_6412

The best tip I can give you is naturally practice….practice etc…but another thing I like to do is to make sure that I have plenty of moisture on the ink and my painter….(again, you will get a fell with practice) and this is a bit rusty as it has been eons since I have watercolored!

Using our water color paper is also a must….WHY? – easy = when you add water/painting to the paper, it will warp and become very thin etc….when you use this paper – it is meant to have water put on it…works like a charm every time

This is an easel card and they are super fun to do (and easy too). When the card is folded, it is a regular A-2 card but the difference is you will score the front panel at 2"

I had a ton of fun coloring this crazy crowd (this is a birthday card for my brother who is also an animal lover) and I wanted him to be able to have it sitting up at his house to make him smile way after his special day!

IMG_6405

I matted the fun with the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack and you can see in the below picture that I used the inside to the fullest! This is a very handsome Paper Stack, perfect for Masculine Cards. Because I want this card to look great from behind and hide the "back side" of the DSP since it is different (and also since I used a punch with it) – I simply covered it with the same size….same color, Sahara Sand.

There are so many fun sentiments on this stamp set, I did a quick stamp and matted it- popped it up with stampin' vitamins and PRESTO…and easel card! I do hope that I have inspired you to try tis method.

Well, what do you think? Can you see yourself trying this? I hope so as it is fun to do something different.

Oops….I forgot!

I forgot to email you today letting you know who won the Stampin' Vitamins from yesterdays challenge. Many, many thanks to all of you that took the time to have FUN and make a card.

And the winner is…Cathi Diener and I love what she said…

Here's what I made today! The three "colors" that I don't usually is loosely based on your challenge: early espresso, white craft ink (first time I have ever used it), and DSP (I always want to save it!).
FullSizeRender
Why is it that we all do this with our DSP….that made me laugh as it is so true – we look at it and say….oh look – it is soooo beautiful but what am I going to do with it…..(does this sound familiar)

You know what I am going to say…..USE IT!

Thanks to all that played yesterday and I already have another fun idea for next Monday! You all make me smile….

March Stamp of the Month Club

Hello…hello – it's that time again….time to share with you this month's kit! I was having a "creative block" and thank goodness it broke and I am super happy and proud to offer this kit to you!

I find that the easiest way to sum this kit up is…fun, practical, fresh, classic and super clean with learning some new techniques that I know that you will use over and over again with future cards!

I realize that this stamp set is not as expensive as other offerings that I have had in the past so this month I am going to add (2) more cards….you will get the (4) sample cards and then you will be able to make (2) of each  = 8 cards this month plus your super cute thank you from me for you to fill with chocolates! (you can click on the below picture to make it larger)

You have heard me blog about this before…when in doubt – go with the sentiments and this is why the minute I saw this new stamp set, I knew that it was going to be a kit set…you are going to LOVE this kit and I am using the super DSP, Back to Black to accent and highlight the fun colors I am using this month.

I have come up with some fun and new techniques for the envelope decorating…that I am sure you will start to see new ways to make your envelopes beautiful and fun!

For those of you that have purchased kits from me before, (1st – thank-you) but I promise that this one will make you happy. They are just so darn practical that the minute you finish each card you will want to send it to a friend right away and then go make more!

The kit cost remains the same – $45.00. Please email me and put in the subject line MARCH STAMP OF THE MONTH CLUB so I can quickly see that you want the kit this month.

My kits have become very popular so please do not wait to reserve one. (I can only make so many as you can imagine making the samples takes time) and I do pride myself in making sure that your samples are super-de-duper for you.

When you email me, please make sure that I have your address so I know where to mail the kit to. If you already have this stamp set, no worries…simply substitute another stamp set or product at the value of $14.95. If you do need a substitute – PLEASE let me know when you email me.

I have lots of great ribbons, punches, framlits and fun in this kit. All of the cards are an A-2 card size. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Thank you for your ongoing support to my monthly kits…it brings me joy that you enjoy making them – this one is super practical and it really showcases a clean and crisp look.

I will do another post today letting you know who won the personal challenge yesterday – I went to bed super early and I figured that I might have some people submit a masterpiece while I was snoozing!

Until later!

Monday fun….want some stampin’ vitamins?!?!

IMG_6331

Here is to a new week… new month so what about a personal challenge! Last week was so much fun and I hope that you will be able to carve out some time and give this week a try!

What is it all about???? Well, today it is about trying to use (3) colors of card stock that you have not used so far this year. Today I am focusing on 3 that I have not blogged about….they are – Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point and Basic Gray.

I think that we all go in spurts of using a "new favorite color" and true we also use colors that "feel" like the season we are in from what the calendar is telling us but I think we all have certain colors that just get overlooked so how about pulling the out and saying hello to them!

IMG_6337

I want you to be able to find some time…grab your stamps and look at you paper and find 3 colors that you have not used in a while. What can you win??? -  well first of all – time having fun creating…and then just email me your card and you can be in the running for a pack of Stampin' Vitamins from me along with this card I made!

Let's get going….

IMG_6341

Do you wonder what the FUN stripe paper is? It is the new freebie of a Sale-A-Bration item that Stampin' Up! is offering for this Month! You will get (2) sheets of each design of paper and all you need to so is place a $50.00 order and you can earn it!

I am able to "hide" the glue dots behind the flower and the banner and I am good to go! You can see my method as to why I placed the flowers where I did.

Vellum is luscious and it is a treat to work with but the tricky part is to conceal your adhesive! I decided to use one of my all time favorites, Flower Shop Stamp set! I adore this and even though I chose to only use (1) of the stamps, it is  "keeper" as it has a matching punch….the pansy punch.

IMG_6344

I must say…I really like these colors, I just have not used them for a while – maybe it is the time of the year…who knows – but I do think that we all get "set" into a comfort zone and it is fun to push through that!

Well…how about it – can you find some time to play? It is between you and me (unless you are the winner) and  I will randomly pick the winner! You all are so inspiring and it is great fun to see what you come up with!

IMG_6335

Email me you card and tomorrow I will share the winner! (I really do not like the word winner – as you all are – but I think you know where I am coming from!) Please remember that today is the last day to take advantage of the weekly deals but the great news is that tomorrow we will have a new week of weekly deals!

Let's all have a great week….think SPRING and until tomorrow!

p.s. – THANK YOU for all of your comments over the weekend – I am going to submit the "stepped up" version based on the comments….I am so glad that you are enjoying these posts!

Step it up Sunday!

IMG_6313

Here you go….a stepped up version of yesterday's card…click here to see it and then you can see the little changes I did…Will had a great Birthday….I had a great day and had a SUPER surprise as John came home from work around 4:30 (tax season – he works 7 days a week) and said – let's go…we are going to get you out of the house and go to Virginia to see the horses! (He is a a great guy and can use my scissors anytime)

Can you see the differences? Darn, the pictures do not do either of these cards justice but the changes I did were….

IMG_6316

  • I used the "punched out" space of the DSP and did a mat. (I was able to punch bow ties for both cards with this mat and also extra scraps. (I adore this punch)

IMG_6321

  • I used the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder on the Sahara Sand
  • I "Heat Embossed" the sentiment in clear embossing powder – this is a SUPER effect and one that think we forget about – it always created a great texture and subtle bling!

IMG_6320

I think that I am going to submit this to the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge this week…..I think it is in the guidelines of the sketch but I need your help! Should I submit yesterday's card or today's card? Leave me a comment and I'll let you do the gambling for me!

Please also leave me a comment and let me know if you are enjoying these (2) day posts showing the ways that you can "step it up" but still keep it clean, classic and simple!

IMG_6306

Below you can see all of the products used for this fun card! It is sooooo darn easy to "click" on the item and PRESTO – in the shopping cart it goes, now I call that easy shopping!

Thanks for popping in today….I hope that you will leave me a comment and please pop back tomorrow as I am super-duper excited for the "personal" challenge I have for you! The random winner will win some Stampin' Vitamins…..aka – Stampin' Dimensionals!

Stampin' hugs! Until tomorrow…..
