Before we get to today's post I have to say a HUGE thank you for the smiles you gave to me with your 53 comments from yesterday's post! John and I went to a great restaurant for dinner last night in the cutest little town about 30 minutes away so as he drove I had my I-pod and read them so we both could enjoy!
It is soooooo very clear to me that we all have the same feeling and passion! I love to create and play in my Craft area…but I adore sending cards and knowing that I brought a smile to someone! Thank you…thank you for sharing what card making means to you!
To me it is a simple pleasure that means so much…
Please know that it DOES make a difference not only to YOU
but to the people you send a card to!
The winner is #24 Brenda B….. and here is her comment! (I had to do it in PINK for the Breast Cancer event today)

Woot-Woot to you Brenda and many thanks for the super sweet comment! Please email me and your address and I will send your goodies your way!
Happy World Card Making Day! I am so happy to have found this hobby and thoroughly enjoy making cards for friends and family. You are such an inspiration Susan and I so look forward to your postings and updates on what you are doing. Happy day to you!
O.k. – to the card for the day! I adore this stamp set, Mingle all the Way. I realize that many people love to celebrate Halloween and then there are others that do not care for the scary part of it…I think that this card is a fun and classic card!

I have great memories of Trick-n-Treat but I will say that my costumes were always handmade and simple…like a pumpkin, a Base Ball Player etc….I am amazed at how the retail stores put such a huge emphasis on October 31st!

This card layout is very simple and it could easily be used for other clean and simple cards! Just simply change up the sentiment and the color of paper and BAM – a whole new card! True I have used a bunch of paper today and if you follow my blog you already know that I adore paper!
To me, paper can do so much and be so effective in making a clean and simple card! Remember to utilize the paper that you are covering with another layer! This is a perfect time to use your punched…framelits etc…to use for future cards!
Here are the measurements for all of the layers that are going on today! I know that you enjoy it when I give you the measurements!
- The base is a good old A-2 card and the black layer is just 1/4 smaller – 5 1/4" X 4" (remember cut the black piece as it will be covered up) and add the next layer in whisper white which is 1/4" smaller 5" X 3 3/4"

- The Tangerine Tango is 3 1/2 X 4 3/4" and then the Designer Series Paper from the Motley Monster DSP and it is 3 3/8" X 4 5/8"…. Take this piece to your Big Shot and Place the #4 square framelit and cut the square out!
TIP – do not adhere it yet…I like to take it over top of the base piece and take a pencil to draw a line where the square is and then stamp it…So much easier!

- Erase your pencil lines and now you can adhere it to the base. (I was going to put stampin' dimensionals under the orange piece but I decided against it and I really like the look!
- I made the back square border with framefilt #4 & #5 as I thought this element would add a great contast and a quick dash of dots did the trick!
- Last but not least…the envelope! I had some fun as I lined the outer flap and then while I had my big shot and sentiment all "onky" – I decided to jazz up the back!

TIP – I have shared this with you before and I will say that I do ask the people that I send cards to if they can through the mail o.k. – like this card…take it to the counter of the post office and ask them to "hand stamp" it….this way it will not go through the machine and I find that using the tombow liquid glue is the best!!!

I hope that this clean and simple card brought a smile to you this morning! Again, a heartfelt thanks to all of you for sharing with me what card making means to you…I think it's clear to say that we all are going to keep doing what we do as it brings joy to us!
Have a wonderful day and make it special! Another woot-woot to Brenda for winning the Blog Candy! There will be more blog candy posts in the future….after all it's October….we need to treat -n-treat together!
Until tomorrow….

This is a GREAT day as today is the day that people from all world celebrate the LOVE that we all have….making cards! I know that if you are popping onto my blog now, than you LOVE making cards and please do not underestimate what we do!

Cards are near and dear to my heart as my Mom was the "queen of card giving"…when she was ill, it was the cards that came in…and came in…. and kept coming in during her short battle with cancer that gave her such happiness, joy and inspiration.
I am not personally having an event today but please know that I have been a "worker bee" for an event tomorrow! I loss my Mom to pancreatic cancer and where I live we do not have a network for that particular type of Cancer, so I have dedicated my time to Breast Cancer.

This card is a card that will be in a bundle of cards to be sold at the Breast Cancer Tea in our community! The 1st Wednesday of the month I go with volunteers to make cards for patients that are in treatment. We usually make (15) cards of (4) different samples that I have ready to go….usuallly making 60-75 per month – it is a fun time!
The REAL hero of this day are my dear friends… Cathy who is a co-chair to this event and Jeanie….my friend and downline as Jeanie and "Sister Corda" have made over 160 tea-pots for this event! I will take a picture of the tables and event….I am so proud of everyone's efforts!
I think Sister Corda is either 83 or 87 years of age and for the past several months Jeanie and her have carved out time on making these tea pots! It will be a sea of pink tomorrow!

Ok….I know – let's get to the card…and let's get to the Blog Candy – You really do not need me on this card with the "in's and out's" as it is easy-peasy but still is a super special and fun card.
Please leave me a comment and let me (us) know what making cards means to you and you will have the chance to win this stamp set along with a pack of whisper white paper! Please leave your comment by 9 p.m. Eastern time today and I will announce the winner on Sunday using random.com

This stamp is a hostess only stamp and I will be happy to send it your way as….

by Susan Itell | Oct 3, 2014 | Christmas, Stamp of the Month, Super Easy |

Now this is my kind of card! I just adore the simplicity of it but at the same time it carries a big WOW! This is the "thank-you" or should I say bonus card that I will send to the stampers of the October Stamp of the Month Club!
The stamp set is the Ornamental Pine and it has endless possibilities! I think that this sentimnet is so classic – just love the font and the detail in the ornament is beatiful.

Please click here to see the post that I shared on the October 1st and I am super happy to offer this type of program to you….WHY??? I know that we sometimes struggle with ideas and we frustrate ourselves with what to create…my goal is to make you be a confident stamper and be very fulfilled.

Let's get to this beauty! The reason that I did not put this in as a "Club Card" for the members to copy is…I simply cannot assume that everyone has a heat tool and embossing powder….so it is my goal to share with you a beautiful card and to inspire you to see the beauty of this technique!
This card has been heat embossed! First you use the Versa Mark…the Clear Embossing Power….next is the heat tool – and then….

This technique of heat embossing is magical each and every time…for those of you that "know what I mean" – there is just something so special and fun to see the embossing come to life!

I took the Stamp Kit over to my dear friend and down-line Jeanie…and she could not believe the effect that using the clear embossing powder gives! It truly is a fun technique to use and I think that this stamp set s PERFECT for simplicity!

I try to add a special touch for the Stamp of the Month Club members and I knew that this beautiful snowflake embellishment would be perfect!
I first threaded the linen thread through the snowflake and tied a simple bow. Next, a longer piece of linen thread and made a larger simple bow and then using glue dots….easy-peasy! I looked at it and thought it needed just something special….a pearl!

It wouldn't be a card of mine without a decorated envelope! Today's paper is from the Trim the Trees paper stack….a fabulous collection of papers! I am soooo happy that Stampin' Up! continues to offer these gems!
That's it…and I hope that you have enjoyed this post!
I invite you to go to the offering of the Stamp of the Month Club and consider this opportunity! I know that you are going to love it and you really have nothing to lose…if you already have this stamp set….no worries – just let me know a substitute and I will be happy to get your kit to you!
Enjoy this day and I hope to see you tomorrow!
Please remember that the cut off for the October Stamp of the Month offering is only until October 10th! Please email me and put in the subject line October Stamp of the Month! Stampin' hugs!

by Susan Itell | Sep 30, 2014 | Fall Cards, Super Easy |

Can you remember the 1st time that you looked through the new catalog when it was unveiled? I always play a game with myself and pick my top 3….totally off of a "gut instinct" and my instinct was that this bundle, Flower Patch was one that I knew had to find its way to my house!
Now that we are into Fall some people might think that flowers should be in the pinks, yellows, lavender etc…but you can make a flower any color that your little heart desires! I think that my card today is a perfect example of just that!

The inspiration for this card came from the Color me Autumn Designer Series Paper and then I chose the colors of my ink! The ink colors I used were Cajun Craze, Cushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke!
NOTE: – When you look at the colors that are to coordinate with the DSP – Always Artichoke is not one of them…this is a personal preference…it's always fun to play with color!

I receive many emails from people that find it hard to use our Designer Series Paper as a focal part to a card so I thought that I would highlight this today to share with you how a busy print can work! Look at how darn simple this card is!

Having the solid strip down the left side, I felt that it needed something….BINGO….fussy cut out the diamonds in the DSP….PRESTO – it worked like a charm!

The above picture is a great view of the layers that I used…stampin' dimensionals and then a glue dot helped layered this beautiful fall flower and then the "cherry on top" was the simple Regal Candy Dot!

The sentiment is from the Good Greeting Stamp Set, the freebie that Stampin' Up! will send your way with a $300.00 order or you can easily have an online event! Love the different fonts!
A quick stamp on a scrap of paper and then "snipping" it and then layering a piece of Cajun Craze…did the trick! When I looked at it – I thought that the white piece was too wide so I did my simple dots!

Pulling out my "Main Stampin' Man"….Mr. Big Shot – a quick run with the Envelope Liner Framelits gave my envelope the love for the day!
Please make sure that you pop back tomorrow for 2 reasons:
- I will be offering the October Stamp of the Month Club…and
- Stampin' Up! has an amazing offering for YOU and ME with Designer Series Paper (hmmm…notice how DSP works….another reason I did this card today!
Thanks for your time today and please share my daily blog with family and friends! I am pleased to offer another Kit for you and from the feedback that I have received from the 1st one…people enjoyed it!
I am an email away and have a fabulous day! Until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Sep 29, 2014 | Halloween, Make it MINE Monday, Super Easy |

Where did the weekend go? It was a great weekend but it seemed to buzz by way to fast! I am just lovin' this beautiful weather we have been having on the East Coast. Not too cool…not too humid….just right! Today is the Make it Mine personal challenge that I throw at you!
Today's sketch is fun! The minute I picked it I thought…a small print in a DSP and then accent colors….the 1" punch – BAM! A card in a matter of minutes!

Please give this a try…there are so many color options you can go with…seriously – the sky is the limit! I love this font of the sentiment, it doesn't get any bolder than this! I blogged last week with this stamp set (click here) and it still reminds me of Elementary School days!

This is a card that you really do not need me…as it is super simple! Simple works…Simple is fun…Simple is effective! The stamp set that I am using today is the Frightful Wreath…and it truly is both big and bold!

The card is the good old A-2 card size…a simple cut in half of a sheet of paper ending up with an 5 1/2" X 4 1/2" card base! The other layers are 1/4" smaller.

The key tool of the card is the 1" punch…a quick punch using the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper was a cinch and then using the coordinating colors of Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry the magic is coming to life!
Did you notice that I embossed the solid colors of paper? The Polka Dots Folder came to the plate today to add some interest!

Last but not least…the beloved envelope! Today is a double whammy….and so simple! I do hope that you give your envelopes some love!

I will admit, having this stamp set being a photopolymer set…it is sooo darn tootin' easy for perfect placement. I am thrilled that Stampin' Up! is coming out with more and more sets like this….WOOT-WOOT!
I am sorry that many of you had a hard time getting on my Blog over the weekend…I do not know what was up but I hope that you go back and see the posts – I thought they were super cute!
Please email me if you have any questions…I am thrilled that my 1st (I call it the Inaugural Group) of "Stamp of the Month Club" are happy with their purchase! I will have October's offering on Wednesday…please pop back! (I think you are going to like it)!
I realize that you have sooooooo many choices – and I deeply thank you for sharing your precious time with me! Until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Sep 26, 2014 | Super Easy, Things you just have to buy! |

How many times have you gone through the catalog???
If you are like me, I would say a ca-zillion! Sometimes I am waiting to hear John say…"Don't you know you know that catalog back and forth by now?" Well, I have a confession…I thought that these Kraft Grid Journals were…well I am being nice…not one of my favorites!
TIP ALERT – I am just adding this to the post as I have received many emails about the embossing. YES – you can emboss it with any of or embossing folders but you have to do each side at a time. When you "crank it through", you will feel where you have to stop because of the thickness…I have the tab open just like I would normally emboss! Please try it and let me know if you need help!
On my last order I purchased some as I thought I could do something fun for Breast Cancer. As we know October is a big month for Breast Cancer and I thought perhaps I could come up with something for an event I am helping with! (Jeanie and Sister Corda have made 150 teapots)…amazing – right!?!? ( I told you she is talented)
Well…what do you think? I am having so much fun making these…the ideas are endless as to what you could decorate the front! Look at your products that you have and I am sure that you will make a wonderful creation!

First, you need these gems…..so how about clicking here and get started! They come (2) in a package for $4.95 so you can see what a sweet and thought gift to give to someone!
Everyone can use paper to write notes on….thoughts….inspirations….and the holiday one – I thought that would be PERFECT to write down your holiday purchases you have made and need!

As I have posted before…I am not a "feather fan" but this is the 2nd post I have used them and my mind has changed! They truly are great "fillers" and I like the fact that you can use the bone folder to give them a slight curve for movement.
The feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set (oops, I forgot to put it in the list at the end of the post)

The other star of this journal is the Chalk Talk and the matching framelit BUT the real woot-woot to these journals are the fact that you can take an embossing folder and run it through the big shot! On this one I used my "old faithful" Large Polka Dots.

Let's move onto this next little gem…I was sooooo happy with this one! There was no one at the house except the dogs and dear Daisey-Mae…and they did not seem to feel the excitment I was!

I just think that this is not only adorable, but it is so darn tootin' practical. This will slip right into your pocketbook…the glove box in your card….it is just so useful and I feel bad that I never paid attention to it before!

Do you see different sizes of trees? Please pop back on Sunday and I will have 2 different cards for you that will make you want that stamp set and punch even more! I used the Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder for this gem!

You can see that I used many products to jazz these journals up but that is the beauty of them…use what you have…think out of the box…or email me and I will be happy to give you some ideas with a stamp set you would like to work with!
It is always great to have little gifts like these "ready to go" when you need something quick. This wuld also be great to jot a recipe down and give it with the goodie you made!

Many thanks for your time this morning! I hope you enjoy a great cup of coffee with me and I hope that you are inspired! I know that you have a ton of choices with so many amazing Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, but please know if you are not currently working with someone, I would be honored to help you!
Tomorrow is the fun post that I am going back to the "hamburger box"…it really is a fun product that is not only on sale this week but it is another product that we have that has so many uses!
Enjoy the day…we are "dog sitting" for the weekend the wonderful gal that helps us with our dogs when we go away. It will be great to have 5 dogs again. I still miss Murphy…he was a good boy but I know he is at right where he needs to be….(hopefully he is playing with Lucy!)
Until tomorrow!
