Good Morning! Most likely when you are reading this…Stanley, Milo and I are “trucking” our way to Gulf Port. Needless to say it will be a L O N G day for me (so please think of us) and this has been a busy week trying to get my “ducks in a row” to make the trek.

I have had the past 1 1/2 days with Hannah and it has been great….Stanley looks fabulous and we are excited to go to Gulf Port. (Hannah will not be joining is until next weekend) so it is just me and my boys!

SO…..LET’S GET SOME CHATTING GOING!

I think that we all like to hear from each other as this is a way that we learn…get ideas….inspiration so I thought that it would be fun to hear some feed back!

Please leave a comment and let us know…when you go to create a card…do you have a “plan” in place or do you just say “I am going to make a card”

Here is my answer:

When I go to make a card…I first pick out the theme that I am needing (as I do try to make my cards for my blog for a specific purpose) and then I think if the color scheme that I like, the stamp set…and then just go for it!

I use to spend a bunch of time looking at pinterest….going to You Tube etc…..but I realized that it was a HUGE TIME GOBBLER but I think that you all agree that you can spend a BUNCH of time surfing! I LOVE those options but I have to limit my time as I tend to get lost in time….as we all know there are soooo many ideas!

I will RANDOMLY PICK A WINNER and announce it tomorrow with my Simple Saturday Post….and GET READY for simple….(make sure that you do not have coffee in your mouth when you see this post – you will BURST OUT LAUGHING)!

What will you win??? One of my NEW MUST HAVE FAVORITES….the Big Shot Die Brush.….it is a dream…just LOVE it and I would love to give it to one of you for sharing a comment with everyone!

Hearing from each other we learn…and I love to learn from you – thanks for your support, your comments and your endless inspiration to give to me!

Today is a SUPER special day….

IMG_3448

Today is February 18th….and this day is SUPER special to me as it is my wonderful Dad’s 85th Birthday! It is also the day for another PPA challenge and I LOVE this one! You can see that I have changed it a bit….but that is “just fine” – That is what is great  – we can make things work for what we need it to be…and I was happy with the end result!

I hope that you can POP over to the Pals Paper Art site and see what the designers came up with….you’ll smile – there are some great keepesr! Thanks Amy for such a great sketch…..please play along with us – I would love to see your work in the gallery!

PPA-288-Feb18

Turning 85 is sooooo special….and especially since it is my wonderful Dad! Guess where he is? In Myrtle Beach with his 3 siblings – IS THAT GREAT OR WHAT! They get together for 2 weeks every year and I am so happy that they are together….very, very special!

IMG_3446

I chose to “play up|” the fun paper from the It’s  My Party Paper Stack! Remember, this is a 12 X 12 Pack of paper…..sooooo festive and just screams a huge smile! I took it to the next step and covered some yummies for them….a simple 1″ X 3″ and then some glue dots – a perfect little something! The glue dots really hold tight, especially if you are mailing them.

IMG_3457

The “Main Star” of the post, (well other than my dear DAD)….is the Number of Years Bundle…THIS IS SOOOOOO HOT – and I think that Stampin’ Up! is super surprised. with the hype that it is having….it is such a great bundle and you can clearly see how classic and fun it is!

140811G

I have blogged about this before…..I learned a trick that I love….using white fun foam – I purchase it at Amazon, (click here to see) and it is SUPER to cut with the dies and big shot…..and the depth is fantastic! I cut it with the fun foam and then again with the thick white card stock!

IMG_3458

You can see that it is a square card….a 4 1/2″ card and yep….making my own envelope was fun! Remember, the envelope punch board is on SALE THIS WEEK…….how can you go wrong???? You simply cannot!

Below you can see how I also jazzed up the inside – is this the best sentiment or what? I know that I am guilty of not showing you the inside…and here you go – a little fun at the bottom and a sentiment – BAM…..GOOD TO GO!

IMG_3462

Did you like the “Happy” = that is from the Age Awareness Stamp Set…..it is a photopolymer so it is super easy to stamp and as you can see – it is super fun! (click on the image in the store at the end of the post)

Sometimes when a new catalog comes out….we tend to forget about all of the “good stuff” that is in the Annual Catalog…..I think that this is a FUN set!

IMG_3468

I know that my dear Dad is going to love this card…he always tells me that he “keeps my cards” – Happy, Happy special day to a very special person. Many happy and healthy returns…..IS TODAY YOUR BIRTHDAY????? If so…..please leave me a comment to let me know! Thanks for your time in popping in…..this is a special bundle and one that I highly recommend it!

Until tomorrow

Video on the Rose Wonder Card!

IMG_3386

Good Morning and as promised here is a video for you about how I made the Stepped Up Card from the post on Sunday You can click here to see the post and then find some “me” time to watch the video!

I hope that you give this a try as it truly is fun and the end result will make you smile….promise! I am looking forward to trying this method with other dies that we have so stay tuned…..I will blog about them!

Here are the quick measurements of the card. Please have fun with playing with all sorts of colors for the die cut part. The sky is the limit so have FUN…..wouldn’t very vanilla and 2 shades of purple look great!

  • Base is an A-2 Very Vanilla
  • The Very Vanilla that you stamp and have your “die cut fun” is 5″ X 3 3/4″
  • The mat behind is 5 1/4″ X 4″
  • The envelope fun was a 1/2 sheet of a piece paper stack, perfect petals…..3″ X 6″ and then the envelope framelit was the star!

IMG_3390

As you can see in the video, I used the precision plate and the Big Shot Brush. These are KEEPERS and YEP.…you need to have them. You will be amazed at the ease it is to get your diecut pieces out…and it really cuts down on the little strays of paper that sometimes happen when you cut! (I hope that this makes sense)

IMG_3403

I hope that the video helps you and I hope that you will give it a try! Please let me know how it works out for you! This is a great bundle and just think – you are soooooo close to getting a FREE Sale-a-bration item!

Please feel free to send me an email and also if you are new to my blog, please subscribe to my blog! I blog daily and I am always happy to share with you clean and simple products….along with tips and tricks!

IMG_3369

I purchased the Stick It from Amazon, click here and you will see the link! It is a fantastic product and I know that you will love it as well!It is so easy…just peel back the release paper….put your card stock down…..trim away to save the left over Stick It…..place a diecut on top of you paper….let the Big Shot do its thing – SMILE!

Have a great day!

I’m MAD about plaid…how about YOU?

IMG_3408

Good Morning and brrrrrrr….the East Coast (along with many other states) have had the COLDEST weekend and we are to get some snow/ice today. Snow is o.k. but ice is scary. I will stay put if we have ice!

Today is the last day to get several of the Sale-a-bration items as they were for a limited time and today is the last day…..but have no fear – tomorrow you will see 3 new goodies that will make  you smile. Please click here and see the Sale-a-Bration Flyer as these are the (3) that are leaving tonight!

  • Hello (this is how I made the paid)
  • Sky’s the Limit  – click here and then here to see a super cute post I did with this
  • Perfectly Artistic DSP

Let’s get to this card and then at the end of the post I am going to answer a couple of questions about yesterday’s post….I am so glad that you likes it….it truly was a fun one to do and I am surprised that it is so easy!

IMG_3417

I love PLAIDS….I love POLKA DOTS…I love STRIPES!

Today the FUN FACTOR of this card to me is the plaid but then again, that darn PEEP is super cute! How did I do this – EASY!

You have heard me blog this before….2 staples that are a necessity in my opinion in our craft area are a mechanical pencil (as I think the lead is softer and easier to erase) and also a good eraser, I like the brand “Magic Rub”……

IMG_3419

All I did was take a scrap piece of thick white paper and drew lines faintly with a pencil every 1/2″ – I know that this is rather “type A” but I am being totally honest as I am all about the end result. Using the Stamp -a- ma-jig I stamped the 4 colors….crushed curry, bermuda bay, melon mambo and cucumber crush.

I realize that the “peep” is in So Saffron, but the crushed curry worked better and created a POP! After I did the stamping, I simply erased the lines and then used the square framelits to cut the plaid piece and then used the next size larger to mat it with bermuda bay.

IMG_3422

I lifted the focal part to make it shine and this is such an easy thing to do that always makes an impact. As far as the little peep…..I did a SUPER QUICK fussy cut of him….please do not stress about this….just do it – remember…it is “handmade” not “hallmark”

IMG_3420

This was super fun to do and once I completed it, I smiled. There is something about fun colors and plaids that make me smile. I am sure that many of you think that this process takes a bunch of time….but it is not bad at all and I think that the end result is worth it – I made (3) for my PEEPS….as this is my “pet name” for them.

IMG_3416

Let’s chat about this envelope….are you smiling? I think that this is the “icing on the cake” and makes such a fin statement. Why did I do that thin strip of bermuda bay? EASY  = type A Susan did not like the way that the polka dots were when I trimmed the excess off!

I have found that using the good old “green glue” works wonders with envelopes! I often get asked…..does it get torn up in the mail? No, I have not had feedback that envelopes have been torn up and when you can, walk your “work of art” into the post office and ask them to hand stamp them.

Please do not miss the boat to get these Sale-a-bration goodies that are leaving us at the end of today! For every increment of $50.00, you can pick a FREEBIE – simply the best time of the year with Stampin’ Up!

Now to some feedback to the post yesterday….YEP – I will do a video for you….Wednesday! I purchase the Stick It from amazon…..I hate to say this as it is Sunday as I type this…I had a Amazon delivery today…they are AMAZING !!!! I say, when in doubt – go to Amazon!

Enjoy the day and until tomorrow!

IMG_3375

Go ahead and cut out MANY different roses  – I hope that you can see that you can mix, match and make YOUR own flower! This Stick It Product is just a DREAM to work with….You will be amazed at how little you use, (actually just the size of the die you are cutting out) so there is little waste and a pack will lost you a long time. IMG_3374

Look in the below photo that these pieces fit in perfectly….it truly is a FUN and rewarding process that is well worth the time! I say, turn up the music and do a  HAPPY DANCE! Have fun mixing up colors….that is the FUN part!

The recent rage has been the coloring books that are all over the place…I know that I bought some for the peeps at Christmas and actually on my girls weekend away all 15 of us received a super fun coloring book and colored pencils….we sat there all afternoon (probably 6+ hours) just coloring away and talking and laughing….this technique is the same feeling you get….it is fun…and when you are done….you say – WOW – DID I DO THAT?

IMG_3397

IMG_3390

Well…what so you think – yesterdays or today’s!I do not think that you could go wrong with either one!! Would you like to see a video of it!?!?! It really is super easy with a huge WOW factor!

Look at all of the cards that I made with the different sentiments from this bundle! This is a special bundle and I think that Stampin Up! did a fantastic job with the details of the stamps and the dies!

IMG_3403

What card did I give for John’s parents…..TODAY’S card….for sure as it is super special….just like they are! To me it is just that little extra “added touch and time” that is so worth it. Here is a picture of the bundle again and I have a “FUNNY” for you!

This is a good lesson. I know that many of you do not like the fact that the photopolymer stamps stain…..well the staining is perfectly normal….and many time for me I LOVE that as I can find the stamps easily. I had pulled out all of the different sentiments that you can see above and you can see that I did not use the “thank you” – well…..the reason was that I had never used it before and because it was clear it stuck to something in my work area and I could not find it……

I was sad as it was driving me NUTS and after pouting and tearing everything up I found it….STUCK TO MY COMPUTER…..so the moral of the story is a stained stamp is GREAT because you can SPOT IT quickly…..

140804G

Do you remember yesterday that I shared with you that there are times that it is hard to find a DSP for a liner when you are using Very Vanilla? Pretty Petals to the rescue…..this is that FABULOUS paper stack that it is the annual catalog…and I think that it works great with this card. I actually used this liner for all of the cards that you saw in the above picture…..it is a great feeling to have cards ready to go!

The other accent that I did today was the enamel dots…these are adorable! I love the colors that they are in and I would be super happy if Stampin’ Up! continued to add more colors to the line. A quick and simple accent that makes a statement!

IMG_3388

Have a fabulous day….what are we doing today? John is in high gear with tax season…..so while he is at the office I am going to cook up a storm and have a special dinner for us! I am going to be working on some videos for you …darn, it would be sooo much easier if we all could be together and have a big class!!!! That would be a blast!

It is a great thought but I hope that through my posts you can see yourself creating projects that I showcase. Please do not hesitate to email me if you need further help with a project….we can email, talk or even skype if you want! Below you will see the products used and treat yourself this Valentines Day…..go shopping!

Simple Saturday with a SIMPLE tip!

IMG_3353

Welcome to Simple Saturday and I have a tip for you that will make you do the “happy dance” when using detailed dies. This bundle, Rose Wonder has been a SUPER popular bundle with many.

I know that it is a $$$$ bundle but when you see the detail of the framelits and also see the beauty of the stamps and amazing sentiments that is in the stamp set it eases your pain a bit. Today I am using a sentiment from another stamp set, Timeless Love as I needed a Happy Anniversary card for John’s Mom and Dad’s 62nd Anniversary.

140804G

There are so many fabulous ideas out there using this bundle and you can easily make it as simple as you want or make it more detailed! You will have to pop back tomorrow to see how I made some changes and then I will share with you which one went to my In Laws!

IMG_3357

The base of the card is in Very Vanilla and it is an A-2 card and then I cut another piece of Very Vanilla 1/4″ smaller – 5 1/4″ X 4″ to build my card! (Darn, I wish that they would come out with the Very Vanilla in the heavy weight, once you get used to that….this seems so thin so I do like to add another layer to give it some support!

Cutting out these framelits can be a bit frustrating as they are so delicate but I have found a product that is not Stampin’ Up! but one that I have found to be a lifesaver with a project like this. It is called Stick It and you can click here to see it on Amazon (darn, I adore Amazon)

IMG_3346

I did use the green glue and yep it worked but I admit it was a bit messy as the area is soooooo thin but then when I tried the Stick It – wowzers, a lifesaver. One thing that I love about the product is that you can expose the backing and adhere it down and if you do not like the placement…..you can move it and then when you have it “just right”, you can use your bone folder to give it a good push!

IMG_3347

The other day I used the Timeless Love Stamp Set and it is still out on my work area as I am going to do a video for you next week and when I saw that Happy Anniversary Sentiment….BINGO – I wanted it on my card! These fonts are so elegant and special!

139408G

I wasn’t quite sure what to do with the envelope and then I thought…and embossed a piece of very vanilla and then adhered it to the back flap…The Elegant Dots Textured Folder was a perfect accent for the envelope back!

IMG_3356

I honesty have forgotten to do an envelope like this….and there are times that when you are working with very vanilla paper, it can be a challenge to find a matching/coordinating paper as many of our papers are geared to white…not vanilla! Please do not get me wrong, I adore vanilla as I feel there is a softness and comfort to it and today’s card is a great example of it!

IMG_3363

Just think….with this bundle you are soooooo close to getting a FREEBIE item from Sale-a-bration. It is hard to believe that we are 1/2 way through Sale-a-bration – the BEST time of the year with Stampin’ Up!

Can you believe that tomorrow is Valentines Day? Tomorrow John’s parents will be celebrating their 62nd Wedding Anniversary….is that beautiful or what. John’s Dad is not in the best of heath but he is such an inspiration to me as he never complains…he sees the joys in life. His Mom is such a saint, very determined to be there with him and keep him comfortable at home

IMG_3349

You will see the products that I used below, shopping from home is great….(another reason that I love Amazon) – you can think of Stampin’ Up! as your on line friend and if you need help….email or call me! I would love to help you!

Enjoy the day and I hope that you can pop back tomorrow to see the stepped up version of our 2 day post! You all are THE BEST……
