My kids….I just have to love them….it was Hannah's turn to come to me earlier this week and say, "Mom – can you make me some thank-yous to send to the professors that worked with me in Boston?" Naturally I said sure but then there were specific requests!
- Can you make them super simple…
- Can you not put flowers on them because I am sending them to men…
- I do want them to be fun and look like something that I would like…
- Can you give me enough room to write a bunch because I have a lot to say….
I truly wish that you all could meet Hannah….she is a piece of work…a beautiful and special young lady and a very smart one! She is a Biology Major at a very small college in North Carolina and was given an incredible opportunity to meet for 3 days with some Harvard Professors that are helping her with her thesis that she is writing next year.
I truly do not know where she came from as her siblings all look at her and say – Where did she come from….she adored being with her big brother and when I would call Will and say – How's it going with Hannah? – He would say GREAT….she is in science heaven!
Enough….let's get to this card! There are a couple of things (well honestly, many things) that I adore about this card.
I I I I love that it is…..
- ZOOM – super fast and Easy
- Colors are fun
- Love…LOVE the (2) stamp sets…….Watercolor Thank You and You've Got This
- It is an odd size, 4 1/2" square
- ANYONE would love to receive it!
We all need to have "secret weapons" like this card…Just think of how quickly that this card came together and think about what a fabulous "stash" it would be to have in many color combinations etc….
The key is to pick 2 shades of colors that are in the "same church…different pew" I used Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. The other trick is to stamp off the pool party once to make it a bit lighter and then the Bermuda Bay will really…..really POP!

Now you have heard me blog this week about this…..the weekly deals – this envelope punch board is a HANDS DOWN….YOU NEED IT! It is only $15.00 this week and remember, the deal ends on Monday night!
I simply do not know where to start with this great product….naturally it makes envelopes, but it also makes all sorts of 3-D super cute items (pop back on Monday as that is what the post is about)

I know that we all have a great background stamp, today was the fabulous cross thatch from the You've Got This…..but if you do not have a stamp like this….how about inking up a stamp block? Do you remember when we used to do that all of the time….it is a great way to add a great effect!

I think that we all can agree…this IS super simple but at the same time SUPER cute! It is totally o.k to keep things simple. Sometimes I think that we all "over think" and keep adding more and more and then get frustrated! Does this sound familiar?
Please pop back tomorrow and you will see some simple, quick and effective changes that will step todays card up…and there is no doubt that you will say – "I can do that"!!!
Until tomorrow….for Step it up Sunday!!

I really mean this title of this post….so….
PLEASE, DO NOT FALL OFF YOUR CHAIR!
You know that I have been very "sheepish" (I thought that you would like that Mary Ann) in doing videos but at the same time I really….REALLY want to do them as by now you all know that I love what I do and I love to chat away and help you !
This is the 2nd post for me today and I hope that you saw the first one as I think it is super cute!
I have been using my Stamp of the Month customers as "guinea pigs" with videos but they have all been private and little by little I am getting the confidence to jump off that board!

So the moral of the story is that I have technical difficulties…..ok – I admitted that (that is the 1st step in making a difference….right????)
I had made this video(link is below) on Sunday to be put on my Blog Post on Wednesday.…and literally I have talked with more people from Apple all week as leave it to me with my luck – it was a glitch on my new computer and it just worked this morning!
Well…..here you go – I am putting myself out on the line and I am sharing….hopefully you will be gentle with me and I am excited to get this process down and share videos with you. I truly love to share with you my works of art from my heart and I have been wanting to launch into the video world so here you go with me going off the board!
Now grap a cup of whatever and click here to see the "Maiden Voyage"….be easy on me and I promise they is no other way to go than up!
Also, to clarify, if you are ordering product shares that come from the annual catalog, like the Designer Series Paper Stacks half sheets and the swatch rings, I can bill you via Pay Pal now and ship them to you before September 1st once I get everything cut etc….but….
Here is the scoop! Holiday Catalog 2015 Product Share
If it is a share from the NEW upcoming Holiday Catalog, I will bill and ship to you after the Catalog goes live on September 1st!
The Shipping Charges are as follows: (I will ship Priority Mail)
Up to 3 shares – $5.95
4 to 5 shares – $7.95
6 or more shares…..FREE SHIPPING!
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Enjoy the day……
p.s. – I think that I have sprouted many grays over this process this week…it's really bad when your kids say, "Mom, when do you go to the hairdressers next"? I know them well enough that they are being gentle on me with the "sprouts"!!!!!

Guess what?
I am NUTS about you!
Yep, that is such an understatement as in a million years I would have never imagined being 50+…having the time of my life in doing something that I love…learning how to blog but still being tech challenge but that's ok…and having cyber friends from all over!
It simply does not get much better than that!
Here is another “sneak peek" of some goodies that are in the new catalog….that calendar is rolling so September 1st will be here before you know it!
You will be happy to know that this comes as a bundle (woot-woot, an instant 15% off) and having the punch is a time saver. I love the fact that the punch cuts out the "cap" as well as the "nut" so layering different textures and colors will be fun!
Several weeks ago I did a blog posting using the corrugated paper and not only did I love it ~ you did to. It seems to add an instant texture to your project and I love the feel of it embossed.

On Stamping School I saw a card being made with this paper and this embossing folder! What a fun effect and then using the sponge dauber on top is the icing on the cake!
The base of the Card is Early Espresso but I used the Soft Suede with the dauber to lightly go over the embossed trees to make it pop. I think using a shade lighter was key, as you want a subtle but effective look. The “key” is to have a very soft/light touch.
I was afraid that when I ran it through the Big Shot, (my main stampin’ man) it was going to squish the effect of the paper but it didn’t. It actually made is very soft, feeling like velvet.

The circle framelits were my help today (love those framelits that graduate in size). Being able to cut a ring out of the Early Espresso was a great way to add an extra spark to the card.
I simply added a small piece of the In the Woods DSP behind the circle (great way to use a minimal amount of DSP) and then adhered the adorable little acorn over it. The Bakers Twine bow is the simple touch needed….with the help of a glue dot!
Do you remember that our envelopes come in Crumb Cake? Well…yep, they do and I must admit that I have not used them lately!

Using the same DSP I cut that to a piece of 2” X 6” (this way if you were to mass produce a card and want your envelope to have some FUN, you will get 12 envelope backs form 1 sheet of paper!) – the old olive piece is ½” wide.
Tomorrow John and I are heading out to take Hannah back to college….she will be starting her Senior year and she is our “Red Caboose” I have a great 2 day post ready for you over the weekend.

Get ready to have a great weekend. It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end. Where we live I started to see school buses already. Heck ~ I can remember that when I went to school it was after Labor Day….I hate to think that there are little peeps having to go back so soon!
Have a super-de-duper day and until tomorrow!

Good Thursday….does anyone else think that this week is flying by….wowzers – I think I lost some days somewhere! Today is the day of the week that the Pals Paper Art reveals a new challenge for us to play with! Below you will see the challenge and it is a great one to have fun with!
I had some fun with this sketch, I decided to flip it around and also use some sneak peak products from the new upcoming catalog. The Halloween Paper is soooooo much fun – there are fabulous prints that I am super excited to have fun with it.

What are your thoughts, do you like Halloween Cards? I know that there are many that do not care/believe in Halloween…but it sure has become a super popular holiday! I have fond memories of Trick-n-Treating and I love trying to go to Mrs.McGraws house twice to get another popcorn ball…it never worked – she was too sharp and I thought she was to old to notice me!
Let's get to the fun and simple card. I am so happy that Stampin' Up! has made several SP collections that coordinate with Very Vanilla. This spider paper is a sneak peak from Happy Hauntings DSP…..just adorable, don't you love those little dangling spiders?
Today is a good old A-2 card that is very straight forward…just a layering pf paper. I adore paper as I think that you can really make a HUGE impact with paper and still be able to be super frugal….see the below picture!

I really wanted the fun paper to have "center stage" today but then I just could not resist using this sentiment "spooky" – another sneak peak and you know that I ADORE simple sentiments like this so I am doing the HAPPY DANCE that we are getting many new ones – this is from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies (4 sentiments)

Did you notice the little trick that I have shared with you before? I like to use the Vanilla Coaster Board to have sentiments like this to be adhered to. The "green glue" works great with it and these new sentiments are very narrow and I have plenty of small scraps to use up = win-win for me!

Time to talk about the spiders on the vellum….I was trying to keep things fresh and different for you so I pulled out some scraps and stamped these little guys on the vellum – they are from "A Little Something Stamp Set"…a fun set that covers several seasons!
It was rather easy to adhere the vellum to the stripes of card stock. I just take a dab of the green glue in the spiders body….let it set aside to "set up" and adhere it. Fun trick to do.

Envelope time!!!! One of my favorite things about making cards…my beloved envelopes – if it doesn't make the mailman or the recipient smile, I know it makes me smile! I did a double whammie today – I say, WHY NOT? If your stamps are already inky…put them to use!

Because I love paper so much, I must admit I also like to share it in unique ways. Below you can see a strip of card stock, (1/4") and then the DSP underneath! This is a super fun way to dress up an envelope…..LOVE IT!

I hope that this simple and clean "spooky" card brought a smile to your face and then hop on over to the Pals Paper Art Site and see what the other designers came up with – so much fun to see how everyone interprets a sketch!
Make sure that you check out the weekly deals this week – KEEPERS! My pick ….hmmmm ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD for sure…that is a must have – but also, the bow punch is super fun and useful and then bakers twine….you can never go wrong with this….
Email me if you have any questions and please let me know if you are a customer of mine and you have not received the new catalog yet (please email me) and if you are not working with a SUD, I would love to work with you!
Enjoy your day and do something fun!
