July 31st….really???

IMG_0764

Is this calendar really right? I cannot believe that another month has ZOOMED by and I needed to sneak a Christmas in July card in for you! I did it in June and everyone was in denial about Christmas being 6 months away but now we are down to 5!

You know that I am working with limited supplies and here is a sneak peak from the new catalog! I know September 1st seems like ages away but it will fly around fast – this is the magical date of when the new catalog will be available for you to order from.

We made this card a convention at a make and take and I naturally had to add a couple of "Susan touches" to it….the bakers twine bow in multiple pieces and my signature "dots" – here is a game for you….look at this card and tell me:

  • what I did differently than I normally do
  • and why I did it and the 1st person to get it will win this card(well you know me, I'll have to send you more than this card….so look and be quick )

IMG_0767

This is going to be a great stamp set to work with and to have fun with…You could easily adapt the "presents" as a Birthday Present…change the sentiment up – PRESTO, you have a new card!

At convention, we also learned a technique in how you twist the stamp completely around to make a "plaid print" – super fun and easy!

IMG_0766

Do you see the peak of glimmer paper….oh so subtle and I am one that is not a huge fan of sparkle but I have learned from seeing some great ideas at convention on how you can do so in a very subtle way that actually gives a great accent!

Do you see that thin green ribbon….another new goodie that is a must have in the new catalog! You will be able to take advantage of all of the new goodies when I offer my Paper, Ribbon and Embellishment Share – this is the best way to get a "taste" without having all of the "calories – $$$$"

John's plane was delayed 4 hours yesterday and I had already left for the airport (1:45 minutes away)….so naturally I sat and sat (when I checked it was on time but the air conditioner was out in the plane….they had to get off and then finally had to board another plane) Unfortunately we missed Hannah's presentation but we had great intentions!

We are on the road and it will be great to be home but it has been a great time away! I hope that you are as excited about this stamp set as I am….it's a keeper!

A day for color!

IMG_0726

Happy Thursday and you know what today is….it is the day that the Pals Paper Art Challenge starts! This week it is a color challenge (my favorite) and this is a fun palette to play with! How about coming out and playing this week – I would love to see your work of art in the gallery, I know you can…I believe in YOU!

How about these colors…aren't they fun! Now this is MY KINDA CARD….super clean and simple!

Before I get to the fun today I have to share "a funny" with you…I took 4 pieces of paper with me to convention, the 3 colors above and a piece of Very Vanilla. I thought that I would knock out a card while I was at convention…well that never happened.

The stamp set I used today was Something to Say…(whew, that was given to all of us at convention) so I knew I would use that stamp set….when I arrived to Hannah's, the box that John shipped did not arrive but I had send some things back with Hannah (Big Shot, the die & some punches) when she was home for Art's funeral.

I made this card with no trimmer….just a pair of paper snips…. and the pearl was given to us at convention….so this was a "wing it" card with what I had to work with and it turn out just fine! I need to turn my picture of my card in early in the week so I just worked with I had…

This card is a great example of how you take what you have to work with….sit back and see how it can work out and GO FOR IT!

IMG_0735

I love this BIGZ die…I have found so many ways to use it and I will say that it has paid for itself time after time! Why do I like it so much??? Well, the flowers for sure but I also like the branch with leaves. You can see to the right of the below picture that the main intention of this is to make flowers….(I have never tried yet)….remember, I am "Simple Susan)!

I hope that this shows you to look out of the box when you look at products…I have used this die many, many times and I find it to be super fun to mix up colors and add a fun POP!

The outer liner was still from the same sheet of paper, I just love this 6" X 6" size and the fact that you get (4) sheets of each print….WOWZERS!

Also, using old faithful, the white gel pen always adds a fun flair. TIP" – Remember to always store it on its side and I always squiggle a circle before I take it to my project for the dashes and dots!

Please do not forget about the 1/2 Paper Pumpkin Deal……you can click here to go to the Paper Pumpkin Site and you can get your 1st 2 month at half off…but I am SUPER excited as they have just added the refills from the Thanks a Latte Refill Kit and YEP  – I have already put it on an order, this makes up such a fun card! For just $1.00 a card which is adorable, how can you go wrong?

Remember, you need to be a Paper Pumpkin Customer to be able to purchase past kits and refills….so how can you lose getting the 2 months at half off and if you want some of the past kits (I would definitely get the shaker card one)

Enjoy the day…I am super excited as John is flying down this morning and we will be able to see Hannah do a presentation. It will be a long but fun trek home with Stanley but until we hit the truck and trailer, we are going to enjoy this adorable town!

Until tomorrow my friends!

Punch Pizzazz!

Good Morning! Today is a FUN post for you as I am showcasing to you some FUN & WHIMSICAL cards that I saw at convention on the wall of cards! Unfortunately I cannot give the designers credit as they were hung up and some of the pictures are not the best…..but I did my best to snap some fun cards for you!

If you follow my blog…..you know that this would be a TOTAL CHALLENGE to me to make cards like this but they are absolutely adorable! I was wishing my favorite "sheep herder, Mary Ann" was with me to dissect them to tell me what punches were used!

Enjoy this parade of AMAZING cards and I am in total awe with the talent…poor little me from WIlliamsport, MD is just happy and fine with my clean and simple style but I must admit – it is SUPER FUN to see these ideas!

For some reason my blog did not go off yesterday on the timer….please click here to see…sorry!

July Stamp of the Month Club!

O.k……I know what the calendar says – today is the 28th of July but knowing that July was going to be a super busy month for me with my ankle and convention etc…..I offered my monthly Stamp of the Month Club to people that subscribed previously (just to make sure I could fulfill them without stressing myself out) but I have 5 spots open so if you would like to take advantage of this fun kit, please email me!

Here is a "peek" of the fun that will be included in the kit! I will be continuing to work on the kits this week, (I was smart and sent a box of goodies to Hannah) so when I have something to do at the hotel while she is at work! Bummer that I am on that darn scooter as Athens, GA is a fun area!

Click on it to make it larger and you will see a glimpse of the fun….LOVE the festive colors and I am doing some different techniques!

For those of you that are not familiar with my kits here is the scoop! (Hopefully those that have purchased them before can leave a comment with their take on my monthly kits)

My kits are all inclusive and you will be able to sit down and create works of art and not only feel super good about yourself, but you will learn new techniques and tips!

  • The stamp set that I am featuring this month is Tin of Cards (page 110 in the catalog). This is a FABULOUS Photopolymer Set that has fabulous sentiments. (In my opinion, this IS the must have stamp set of the new catalog as these sentiments are just great to use with punches, banners etc…)
  • In my kits, I provide you with (3) completed samples along with lined envelopes and then you will have the "makings" to make (2) more of each sample and envelopes!
  • I also send you a super cute bonus card as my "Thank you" to you….so in total you will receive/make 10 cards in the kit.
  • I have everything all ready for you to be able to sit and have some great "me time"
  • I will email you a PDF of all of the supplies and dimensions of each card along with a private link to a video for each card. This way you get a great experience of learning and actually seeing the "how to's" along with tips and tricks!
  • I use a very sturdy box to mail all of your stamp set and goodies in so nothing is ever dented or damaged. The cost of the kit of $45.00.
  • If you already have this stamp set…..no worries, just let me know what you would like me to substitute for the value of the stamp set, $17.00 and I will be happy to do so.

I only have 5 spots open for this month! Please email me and put in the subject line July Stamp of the Month Club so I can "spot it" and I will send you a confirmation and then follow up with a Pay Pal invoice.

I know that you will enjoy the kit and also learn a bunch! I plan to have all kits shipped out on Tuesday (a week from today)

You know what today is……Weekly Deal Day! – Please click here to see the offerings this week! Tuesday is always a fun day when there are specials for us to take advantage of! While you are there, click the clearance rack – there are some keepers in there as well!

Have a great day and until tomorrow!
