1 – 2 – 3 – done!

IMG_9293

Here is another card that I will be making for swaps when I go to convention! WOWZERS…today it has been 1 month since I had my surgery….and a week from today I will be leaving to go to Utah! I have never been there and I am super excited to zoom around

Todays card is very unusual that I am using actually (3) stamp sets….something that I rarely would ever do but to me, the focal stamp set is Wild about Flowers in my eyes. The other 2, Gorgeous Grunge and A Dozen Thoughts (are good old oldies and I think that most of you have them as they are super duper sets)

I know that the title of this post is 1,2,3…..and here you go!

  1. Stamp the vertical whisper white with Pear Pizazz with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp. ( I think in hindsight, when I make these for the swap I will stamp off the pear pizazz to make it a bit fainter)
  2. After using the NEW and MUST HAVE Lots of Labels Framelits with scraps in both white and crushed curry….stamp the beautiful floral image on the white….just love it!
  3. Again, using your scraps….stamp the sentiment and then flag the ends and then mat it with Pear Pizazz and flag the ends .

The great thing about this stamp set is that the stamps are marked….(stamp #1 floral base with an arrow and then there is another floral one marked #1 so you can have perfect placement – soooo darn easy)!

Also, aren't the sentiments on this stamp set super! We have needed a retirement  one and I also love the versatility of the others as well.

IMG_9297

This sentiment stamp set is one of the best we have. I was thrilled that it was carried over and this one is one of my favorites as I love the font!

IMG_9296

You know me….I love my envelopes! Today the liner is from the Cherry on Top Stack. You might think that this stack is more juvenile or birthday oriented…but there are some great prints like this one.

IMG_9291

It's been a while since I have used "old faithful" – the white gel pen…don't  you think that this adds a fun touch to this card? Please feel free to leave me a comment and lat me know your thoughts about todays card – would you like this as a swap card?

I am trying to make a variety of cards as it is fun to let people pick "what speaks to them" – This card can be used in so many color combinations and also changing up the sentiment…here comes a totally different and new card!

Have a great day, feel free to email me  if you have any questions and I hope to see you tomorrow – it is the Pals Paper Arts Day and it is a sketch and it's a great on…..I hope you will play!

Quick, fun & done!

IMG_9281

We all need birthday cards to send so here is a super quick and easy Birthday Card that you can whip up using minimal product and the best thing is – it comes as a BUNDLE!!! The stamp set is super fun and filled with some great sentiments!

134090G

This is another swap card for convention (I like to have several different themes) so each day this week I will share with you swap cards and then when I get back from convention – I will have LOTS to share with you!

The base is a note-card and using the Cherry on Top DSP Stack makes this a fast and very duplicable card as it has (4) sheets of each pattern!

138443G

Let's get to it…this will be super quick as you know what today is – TUESDAY – which means weekly deals! You can click here to see the offerings this week and make sure that you do not wait for certain items as they are limited to the quantities that Stampin' Up! is offering.

IMG_9282

Look how silly simple this is…(2) pieces of fun paper….stamp the sentiment in Bermuda Bay….pop another one out in the coordinating color of watermelon wonder….stamp the stamp again in another coordinating color, Hello honey…..cut – adhere – DONE!

IMG_9285

You could easily eliminate stamping the 2nd time but I think that this adds a cute touch. The great thing is that it is a cinch to cut out, not detailed at all. (remember, its those little extra special touches that make a difference)

IMG_9283

Lining the outside of the envelope is also festive and fun and with the size of this paper, you can line (2) envelopes from a sheet of paper…and actually if you line it like this and use the note card size….you will have some extra that you could use a punch to use up the paper!

While you are checking the weekly deals this week…make sure that you pop into the clearance rack – (hopefully some new goodies might be in there)!

Thanks for popping by, please do not forget to share my blog with your family and friends….I love new subscribers and you know we always are having fun! You can click on the button on the right and never miss a post.

See you tomorrow!

Sweet & Simple

IMG_9272

Good Morning and here is to a great week ahead! I hope that your weekend was great. I had an unexpected surprise…John and James were working outside all day (work here is endless) and John walked in the house around 5 and said – "Let's go….I am going to get you out of the house" – I was soooo happy as being in the house has really been getting to me!

We went to the Antietam Battlefield (one of our favorite places that we bike and walk) but he brought my scooter and I scooted all around and he could not keep up with me! It was FUN and it was energizing to me!

This is a fabulous new stamp set that I know that many of you were happy to see in the catalog. Many of you think that we have been "missing the gaps" with sympathy stamp sets. We all need to send sympathy cards and it is wonderful to have a good old "go to" and this is it!

138764G

John often asks me for a stash of sympathy cards as he likes to send them to clients and their families and I whipped up 8 of these in a snap….why 8??? Easy…

  • You get (4) sheets of each print in the paper stack so I cut (2) pieces into 1 1/2" strips and then used the MUST HAVE speed punch, the triple banner punch and I still have 2 sheets left to use for another project!

I must admit, I thought that it was totally silly to have a punch that could cut a banner when it is so easy to do yourself with scissors…but boy was I wrong – this cuts out more that (3) sizes….all you have to do is flip it over and line it up….PUNCH and DONE!

IMG_9278

I am so happy that many of our DSP in the new catalog coordinate with Very Vanilla. I adore the softness that Very Vanilla gives and would it be wonderful to have this in a heavy weight like the whisper white!

IMG_9280

The other "star" is the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack…this sweet little flower I use sooooo much but it always adds the perfect accent.

IMG_9279

The Circle Framelits made this card come together in a snap….I also call them my speed tools and I think a great investment is the ones that  I call "nestabilities" – like the circles, ovals, squares….these are great as you can make so many sizes, mats etc….

IMG_9277

I used another piece of DSP from this stack to line the envelopes! I cut it in half and am able to line (2) cards with a sheet….so it worked out GREAT – there are (4) sheets in the pack and I was able to line 8 envelopes

IMG_9274

This week I am showing you cards that are super simple and fast as I will be making these cards for "swaps" to take to convention. This is the 1st time I have attended convention and I am super excited….scooter and all….I will be ZOOMING to the fun!

I hope that this was an inspiration to you and even though we do not like to have to make sympathy cards….I think that this stamp set is a total "keeper" – As promised, I will share with you future posts with this stamp set so you can see the versatility of the stamp sets!

Enjoy your day, please feel free to leave me a comment with how you like this card…a great example of less is best! Until tomorrow.

Step it up Sunday!

IMG_9261

Here you go…..today is the day that I will show you a stepped up version of yesterday card. I must admit sometimes I do feel that it is not a huge difference and I hope that I do not disappoint you all…I am very simple and basic but I do think that there are many ways that you can make some changes to make it look different!

Remember to think of your cards as "formulas"…if you see a card style that "speaks to you" stop and look at it, break it down to see if it is something do-able for you to make and then if you can see yourself making it now and in the future with different stamp sets than I suggest that you get a binder, take notes and sketch it!

When you look at the cards this weekend they basically have the same elements:

  • Card stock
  • Stamp Set and ink
  • Speed Tools – (2) circle punches
  • Bakers Twine

Now is the fun part to see that they really are similar and I think you would be happy with either one….they just use (2) different techniques and I can honestly say, they both are very basic and easy cards to make.

Do you have a favorite?

IMG_9270

In a nut shell…FOR SATURDAY:

  • The sentiment and mat was adhered to the top of the stamped part of the card.
  • I did not double stamp the flower image and stamped the dots
  • I added the loops (see below scoop) in the bakers twine behind the popped up piece.

FOR TODAY'S CARD:

  • I used the 1 3/4" circle punch to punch out a hole in the stamped piece
  • I used both the 1 3/4" & 2" punch to create a bermuda bay ring to go around the opening.
  • I stamped the sentiment and popped it out and then adhered it flat to the bermuda bay piece.
  • I made a simple bow and used glue dots to adhere
  • I "double" stamped…the outline was like yesterday, in Pool Party but today a used Soft Sky and stamped it off once before stamping. The centers of the flowers ate "full strength" Bermuda Bay.

IMG_9265

I am all about clean and crisp lines, using lots of paper (but remember….SAVE THE INSIDES of your paper if it is going to be all covered up…..you can take punches, framelits etc….WHY NOT)?

IMG_9266

This effect -  seeing the ring of paper and then the sentiment below…it just adds a special touch and it is so easy. The best tip I can give you is to make sure that your circle punch is pushed all the way up and centered to the side….this way you will have a straight circle.

IMG_9255

I am also all about speed tools….to me that includes out punches and framelits…I love both but a punch is so fast and easy. You can clearly see how they made this card come together in a snap!

IMG_9262 (1)

Below is the outside of todays envelope….I just adore making the mailman smile and the way I look at it is – Your stamps are already "inky" so why not?

IMG_9264

Below is a quick collage of tips and trick that might be useful for you! (click on it to make it larger) Please feel free to email me if you need further explanation or help!

 tips collage

This truly is a wonderful stamp set and I look forward to making many beautiful projects with it! Being that this is a photopolymer set…it does make it easier to see but the "key" about the way that the stamp set was designed was to be very "watercoloring look"  – so that means that…if you are "off" a bit – it is just fine!

I already have an idea for a future card…hmmmm – vellum??? This would be gorgeous. Enjoy your Sunday, I am going to be having a "date" with my computer…and my patient son – hopefully he can help me work through some "Susan issues"!

Hope you can find some "me" time! Until tomorrow.
