Good Morning…confession – I am glad that yesterday is behind as I felt like saying "Calgon, take me away"! True it was super exciting to the retiring list but Stampin' Up! was sooooooo flooded that the site crashed a couple of times and I am sorry that it was frustrating for many of you!
I too had a problem trying to place an order and still have not placed it and I see that many items are already gone…I told you – we are funny, funny stampers – when we hear of a sale or know that items are going away – WE ACT!

I have tried to answer many emails of concern and the simple question of why did they retire this…why did they retire that? The answer is, I simply do not know but one thing I do know is that Stampin' Up! did it for a reason, and I am sure that we will all be super-de-duper happy with the new goodies that are coming soon.
Stampin' Up! has never let us down and I know that this new upcoming catalog is going to be super special! I am sooooo darn excited and I know that we will be doing the "happy dance" and also I know that I am going to be SUPER SUSAN CHARGED to show, teach and inspire you with new clean and classic ideas!
Here are some tips for you today….
- Be patient…
- Be persistent…
- Have fun!
If you are like me…do you remember looking and looking for that one special toy that your child wanted for Christmas and you looked and looked for it….or better yet…you stood in line….surfed the Internet, made endless phone calls seeing if a new shipment came in…..sound familiar?!?! I say, "Wow – these were the days" and I miss those days as now that my peeps are adults, this does not happen anymore!
Today there are new items added to the clearance rack, and please do not forget the weekly deals – (they are KEEPERS this week)
We have all sort of options and I thank you for your patience and sheer determination to get through the site! Remember, you will earn DOUBLE PAW PRINTS from me today!

I have to say, yesterday I received an email from a dear customer saying that she was having a tough time getting through …and being the person she is….she said, I will get a cup of tea and wait….my answer was, I am going to take the truck and trailer and go get hay!
She won…I lost… as I was waiting for the hay to be loaded into my trailer, I checked my phone for emails…and she was able to place an order! (I told you she was great!)

I know that today I was to announce the winner for the Monday Challenge….but to be totally honest, I was overwhelmed…as the saying goes – tomorrow is a new day and I am "super" proud of the entries….so proud that I am going to showcase them on Friday!
I realized that I need to do more masculine cards…and I will! Hang in there, many thanks to those that succeeded to get through…I thank you and I say a big thanks and WOOT-WOOT!

by Susan Itell | Apr 20, 2015 | Birthday, Super Easy |

Monday..Monday and today is a very SUPER special day as today's is my dear John's 60th Birthday! What perfect timing to be able to celebrate right after tax season. The best part is that the (3) peeps came home for the weekend and it was a total surprise – truly the best gift one could have! (Please feel free to skip the next 4 paragraphs but I just wanted to share)
Peep #1 left his home in North Carolina around 8 p.m. on Thursday night with his adorable new puppy he rescued, Leo and at midnight I had a text from him that he was getting too tired so he pulled over and stayed at a hotel (smart choice). He has a phone meeting at 9 a.m. on Friday so he woke up super early and arrived home before 8:30 and scared John to death!
Peep #2 left her college at 2 p.m. on Friday and arrived home around 8 p.m. and she came bopping through the door and said – "Hi Dad" – John was stunned and the best thing was, his eyes filled up with tears of joy as we had just seen Hannah.
Peep #3 left Boston at 4 p.m. on Friday and the other 2 tried to keep John up watching movies (I was long gone in bed) and at 12:45 a.m. – in through the back door Will came in and once again scared John to death as they were watching an intense movie and he never in a million years thought that Will could come home.

Needless to say it was very, very special for John and WOW was he surprised and the best thing is…we did absolutely nothing other than being together here at the house…Hannah and I played with the horses…the guys worked in getting the garden ready….we took the boat out for a great time together…cooked together and I even talked them into play Scrabble with me – a perfect weekend! Yesterday was hard to see them go back but it was just fabulous and oh so special to both John and I!
O.k. – sorry for the personal scoop but I must say, that's what I adore about blogging…I feel like I get to share with you a bit of who I am…let's get to the card!

Today's Monday challenge is to make a masculine Birthday Card! We all seem to struggle with masculine cards so how about it? Hopefully you can find some time today or tomorrow (9 p.m. Eastern) to make a masculine Birthday Card and email it to me and I will randomly pick the winner and announce it on Wednesday and you will win a white get pen and this card!
I have blogged many times about this bundle…and you can see that today's card is another example of how versatile it is. Remember, in the Occasion Catalog it is a bundle (which saves you an instant 15%) but when the new catalog comes out, it might not be in a bundle so I would not wait – it's a keeper!
I am the very 1st to realize that it is a super expensive set but I will say that the mileage you get with the stamps and these amazing diecut sentiments…WOW!

I am a huge fan of Jennifer McQuire and she posted this video on using hearts in a circle! Today's card is created from her inspiration. I used the circle framelits as my "template" and truly did not spend much time at all…The over all card is a 5" card in Vanilla and this piece is 1/4" smaller (4 3/4")

Because time was against me and because I have the stamp set in the photopolymer, I took the plunge and eye balled it as shown below.

I know it is not perfect but it is from my heart, I stamped in between the 4 stamped "birthday" again . I simply bent ever so slightly the stamp to make a subtle arch.
One product that I think is overlooked in the catalog and something that I think is very useful is the very vanilla coaster board. I used it for my Easter Berry Baskets and I also think it is great to use it with these sentiments.
Today – I doubled up on them as I really wanted the sentiment to be "front and center" for my card! I used the good old "green glue" to adhere!

I hope that you can find some time to make a masculine Birthday Card. This was not only fun, but it really was fast and I think that you could have fun adding to it, but I am super happy with just the way it is!

Remember, please email me your answers to the Blog Candy Challenge I gave to you on Friday! I am giving away (2) $25.00 shopping sprees and I cannot wait myself to see the retiring list and also go thru to see who are the winners!
Today is also the last day to take advantage of the weekly deals! There are some keepers this week! Thanks for popping by and I hope that your day is as special as mine…John is a wonderful husband and Dad and he is taking the day off to enjoy his special day!
Until tomorrow…it will be super exciting as the LIST WILL BE UNVEILED!!!! Woot-woot!

by Susan Itell | Apr 19, 2015 | Step it up Sunday!, Thank You |

I just love these 2 day challenges ~ I do appreciate the emails that I have received from many of you that you also enjoy these postings! Every week I say to myself – what can I come up with??? and it always seems to work out. I encourage you to try to look at a project that you make and then say – what can I do to change it up a bit.
Doing this will help you continue to develop a style of your own and it will help you reach to try new things. Sometimes you will feel like you like the "easier one" or the "stepped up" one makes you roll…whichever, it is a personal choice and sometimes it also come down to time.
Here are the cards side by side (click on the image to make it larger)

I am just in love with this simple flower! As I commented in yesterday's post, this stamp set is on the weekly deals and remember that they are only good thru (tomorrow night), Monday! Hands down, the sentiments are fabulous but I am "head over heels" with the flower images as they are just so simple!

Let's get to the card today – I did not give you the dimensions yesterday so here you go (I know you like that)

- A-2 vertical card in whisper white and then another piece 1/4" smaller (5 1/4" X 4")
- The black band is 1" wide and long enough to wrap around the white piece and then the vellum is 3/4"

- The punches are the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch and the 1 3/4" Circle Punch
- The "Thanks" is stamped in the White Craft Ink (This is something that I would recommend having around, true you do not use if often but when you do…it makes a fun statement)

- The tiny flowers are from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Set and then I used the small SU hole punch for the centers for the centers of the flowers and the white gel pen for the dot (you could easily use a small pearl but that would most likely bump you into extra postage)
- I carried on the white gel pen and black marker dashes and dots….(remember, that the white pen does take a bit longer to dry so be careful that you do not touch it too soon.)

- Lastly the envelope….super cute! (darn, I love this flower!!!)
Well, there you go! Personally I do not think you could go wrong with either card. The vellum just gives it a different feel and in person it really is stunning. I know that we do not use vellum a bunch but I think that this (like the white ink pad) a great item to have in your craft area.
The biggest obstacle with Vellum is hiding the adhesive. This was easy with this card as I used the adhesive (I used glue dots = EASY) on the back of the band and then under the scallop circle and itty bitty flowers.
Please feel free to share with everyone your thoughts…remember to email me your answers for the BLOG CANDY challenge I put your way on Friday, click here to see that post!
p.s. – I have had ?'s about the number of retired stamp sets for the Blog Candy…(1) stamp set is the stamp set name not (1) being wood mount, (1) being clear mount etc….for example if Mothers Love is to be discontinued that would count as (1) stamp set NOT (3) because of it being in different mounts.
Good luck and HAVE FUN – I have been loving your responses and I am equally as excited to see the list on Tuesday! Please pop back tomorrow for a Monday fun challenge!
