I’m excited. It’s a keeper!

Hi all and Happy Hump Day! I have a card that will make many of you say. that is one great card! I knew that I was going to like this new bundle of a FREEBIE….but after playing with it…I can easily and honestly change the like to LOVE!

I do not think it takes a Rocket Scientist to explain the LOVE for this bundle as the focal basket stamp is beautifully drawn, the sentiments and fonts are sweet, clean and fresh and the embossing folder….an easy WOW! This bundle will be available starting on Friday as a FREEBIE for  Sale-A-Bration with a 100+ order.

Below you will see the images from the stamp set. When I open up a stamp set I always like to condition the stamp, make a stamped image sheet (this helps me know the feel of the stamp) as I think you all “get it” as every stamp can stamp a bit differently. I tuck this piece of stamped images inside the cover of my stamp set…making it easy for me to view it when I use it in the future.

There is really nothing hard at all about this card….as it is super straight forward using the “keeper classic tools” to create a super simple card. You know I say this all the time….getting the basic tools IS the way to go when you are creating as if you have the basics….things just come together….you can wait for the extra fru-fru’s!

The shape of this basket just took me to the size of a card that I adore, a 4 1/4″ Square! I just adore square cards and if you do not want to make your own envelope to fit it perfectly (it will require additional postage as all square cards do) you can simply put it in one of our regular A-2 envelopes and you are good to go with a regular stamp!

I pulled out my Stampin’ Blends and just chose 3 color families to use, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette and Daffodil Delight. It was as simple as putting down the light color and then going back over where there are lines in the images….and swiping the dark color of the same color family. Nothing to it….these are a coloring dream machine!

Don’t you think this Spring Basket would be a perfect Easter Card? Really I think that you could stamp just about any sentiment (a Birthday, a Thinking of You, A Sympathy etc…) anything would go, that is why this stamp set is a keeper. For the inside of this sample, I chose to stamp the sentiment “You are loved” with the butterfly flying up!

I wish that this card was in your hands to see how using 2 different ribbon accents  on the basket….it is super cute (if I must say so myself) under the white small bow I added several threads of the Linen Ribbon…just a PERFECT little extra accent to showcase some additional dimension.

Another thing that I did with this card that take literally no time with a fun accent is that I scored on all 4 sides to the edge of the stamped image. Doing this simple scoring always adds a touch that will always be noticed! Don’t be afraid to pull out simple tricks – they do make a difference.

Now to the image that will make all of us say…..I WANT THIS! Well….let me tell you – YOU can get it and get it for FREE along with the stamp set with an order of 100+ starting on Friday when there will be some more kids on the Sale-A-Bration block…CLICK HERE to see the post that I did showcasing the newbies!

This embossing folder is a dynamic one….meaning that there is extra depth, extra detail that comes to life with a run through the Big Shot. Here is a tip that works so well when using embossing folders like this…spray a mist of water on your paper before you put it in the folder…it helps soften the fibers to make the WOW even stronger!

Look at the depth of this folder on the Crumb Cake shown below. I just had to show you a picture of the detail as I realize that it is hard to see in the pictures with the basket. Trust me, when it is in your hand you will see the little bit sticking out and you say WOW….where did that come from! It is just beautiful!

Well…there you go – a little sunshine and inspiration for your Valentines Day! I hope that your heart is filled with love on this “heart day” Today is also Ash Wednesday marking the 1st day of Lent……it is hard to believe that Easter will be here in 40 days!

I know by seeing a basket of Spring glory will bring a smile to you! I just love simplicity like this…right up my simple alley!

Have a wonderful day….my sweet little swine is getting some Strawberries from her Mama today…..my girl just love strawberries and heck – what do you get a pig for Valentines…….Strawberries work for me and it will be lip smacking good for her!

Fast…Fun and oh so sweet!

Happy Friday! I have been excited to do this post ever since I received an email from a customer, Sue E. from New Hampshire! I just LOVE IT when I am inspired by blog readers and this email led me to a full blown enablement and I am just THRILLED!

I need to be honest….so go grab your Occasions Catalog and turn to page 17. This is where is all begins! I totally skipped right over this stamp set, A Good Day –  I naturally HOPPED on buying the punches without batting an eye as when I see a punch – SOLD as I love the ease and speed of using a punch!

I can remember my first impression of this stamp set was….images are too small….I wasn’t crazy about the Mini Embroidery Hoops as I tend to crack the wooden embellishments and then also the bulk with shipping….UNTIL AN EMAIL…..from Sue and that’s all it took – SOLD ME!

Take a peek of this image and then read on….it will make sense!

Sue said that she watched a Video that Sara Douglas did using this stamp set along with the narrow notecards & envelopes (another item I wasn’t 100% sold on) but keep reading……(I told you I was going to be honest) I then put my investigator hat on and found the video…..it was a FaceBook Live Video that Sara had up on the Stampin’ Up! Website!

I watched this and said an immediate WOW – right up my alley……

Click Here to see the video…it is cute and Sara is just adorable! After I ordered it I immediately called Jeanie and asked her if she had it to borrow….STRUCK OUT….I now know how if feels to be impatient waiting for an order to come….even though I had a ca-zillion other things to work on….I wanted it NOW!

It finally came Monday night and I could hardly wait to play with it and make some of these sweet cards! I warn you….they are like POTATO CHIPS…..super addictive to make and as you make them you start to think…..“These would be great to give to ________ for a little Birthday Gift” or “These would be great to give a set to my Mother In Law for watching Mr. Perfect” (aka Milo)

Below you can see the (2) new punches. These really made putting this project together a breeze. I think that we all can agree….when you can pull out a punch and get the job done….We are HAPPY Crafters! Stampin’ Up! Punches are always so hight in quality and value. In the product line up you will see all of the various sizes of punches….they are just super handy to have on hand…a basis that you will use over and over!

Really…the sky is the limit and it also gets you to think of other stamps that you have that are small in image size to make up and paper….well WE ALL KNOW WE HAVE PAPER….so here is your permission to USE IT UP!

Now you can see why I am giving the Narrow Notecards & Envelopes as my gift with purchase this month! I will also tuck in several of these with the notecards……You can always find the current incentive on the drop down bar on the blog and the current Hostess Code is on the side of my blog.

As you can see in Sara’s Video there is nothing to it in whipping a bunch up! I did add a mat to the samples below…just because – you know me, I love my paper and I do think that it dresses it up a bit!

I also invite you to look at other simple sentiment stamps you have as you can see on the Easter one…..a simple Happy Easter dressed up this sweet bunny – this is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes oldie but goodie stamp!!! (I already know that I am going to make these for Easter and put on the fru-fru when I make Lemon Bread!)

I pulled out my Blends and just added some simple color to make these little sweeties come to life. You can use many different coloring mediums but I find the alcohol based markers are not only speedy….but also super easy!

In the Video, Sara showed how to cut the paper to maximize your cuts. Didn’t you think that it was so darn clever to use the  2 1/4″ Circle Punch to use as an envelope liner? I made the below visual for you to use.

So…..What do you think? Do they make you smile….

I know what I think….I am GRATEFUL THAT SUE EMAILED ME….and that I put some together!!! This would be a wonderful way to get together with friends and make some – you can yack away and have fun chatting and also pound out a bunch of these sweet cards……I literally had to stop myself and put them away as I kept wanting to make more and more….(I plan to make some while watching the Olympics)

Enjoy the weekend and I do hope that you will have time to watch the Olympics. I love watching them and I am always so amazed with the strength, dedication, endless training that these amazing athletes do! It truly is a special time to see the extreme talent.

We are to have a super rainy weekend….better rain than snow….the ice we had earlier in the week has played havic on many of our trees and we lost a HUGE pine tree and also several HUGE LIMBS…..it always makes me sad to see trees die as I think of how many years they were there.

Find some “me time” to craft away and I hope that this post inspired you to look at these sweet notecards. I just get giddy when I see a project that is fun, easy and practical. These would make a wonderful little gift to make up for that hard to buy for person as after all, a gift that you made with your own hands is the best gift as it is from YOUR HEART and HANDS!

WINNER and another WINNER!!!

Good Hump Day Morning!

I waited until this morning to do this post so I could allow as many people to “chime in” and share their favorite of the 3 NEW Sale-A-Bration offerings that will begin next Friday, February 16th until the end of March….(when Sale-A-Bration ends….) and also…..

We have had some terrible ice over night and it made doing the barn this morning…..a husband and wife tag team as we slid on our bums to get down the hill (we laughed and laughed…the dogs looked at us like “Whatcha’ doing silly parents”) as we both have that fear of falling! All is great and it is to get warmer later and hopefully melt!

Below you will see the screen shot of the poll and YEP…..we have some stampers that want MORE PAPER! I honestly thought that hands down the Bundle would have won….but I get it, the paper is lovely!

My order did come and you paper hoarders are correct….the paper is b e a u t i f u l and I am going to put my coloring skills to the test and use the Stampin’ Blends……BUT…..just wait folks as I truly can envision that bundle being a super simple, super sweet Easter card and the flowers are going to be so easy to highlight.

Now for what you have been waiting for……the WINNER…..soooooooooo get ready to push that chair back and put your hands HIGH IN THE SKY and SHAKE IT…..do that dance and then sit down and email me with your address as YOU WON!

Beth B from NC….you just won the Eclectic Expressions Stamp Set

Way to go Beth and many thanks for the fun feedback and ideas. I will say…keep watching as I just love to give Blog Candy away and what better way to give when there are goodies that not only you will appreciative….you will use over and over again!

The ideas that I were going to share with you are going to be pushed back for another post as yesterday, Stampin’ Up! shared some exciting news that we have all been waiting for and I am excited. No….actually I am ecstatic as I used Fast Fuse all of the time and this IS the deal of all deals…(I think that SU did not realize the sheer madness this brought when they offered it last fall)

The moral of this HUMP DAY POST STORY is do not wait….and I know, your lower lip will be down like a toddler and you would have missed this great sale. As I said, Stampin’ Up! offered this in the Fall and it was a ZOOM….ZOOM….THEY RAN OUT which left many people a bit sad….(well there might have been other adjectives that they might have used…but you know me…let’s be positive!)

Holding true to their word they said that once their inventory became high that they could offer this again as sooooooo many people were disappointed as it sold out licitly- split…they would have the sale again….

Well that time is here…..STARTING TOMORROW (Thursday February 8th)

Fast Fuse is a product that when it was first introduced people had a love/hate relationship with. I get it as I did the same and I think that in the beginning I set back more than I kept ….but once I learned to use it correctly, be patient…it was a friend, actually a BEST adhesive friend and YEP, if I was on a deserted Island….Fast Fuse would be in my must haves while on the Island.

The refills have soooooo much length to them and I invite you to look at the details when you make comparisons of a product. I will say that I toss the container and get a fresh one after using many, many refills and with this deal…..you do not feel guilty one bit.

Now I always say to you that I am an honest stamper….but in this case….I just do not think that I can be honest and share how many I will be buying (hopefully if they do not run out) as it would be to some….an amount that you would say…..WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH ALL OF THAT……

My answer….I’LL USE IT! I adore this adhesive has it STICKS and true it is not forgiving if you have to move it (that’s what makes green glue great) but I like an adhesive that HOLDS TIGHT.

When I do my monthly kits, I always use Fast Fuse to make my samples. The way that I look at it is….I create with what I use as I want you to have a well constructed card.

In closing, I have a super cute image for you and I hope that it makes you smile….as you all know that my dogs (and piggie)…(and stupid donkey) make me smile…..Just do whatever it will take for you to remember…..

TOMORROW IS THE DAY….you have been WARNED…..

so don’t be left disappointed!
