Super sweet…simple & special!

Happy HUMP DAY…..I have a SSS card for you that hopefully will make you smile! What the heck is an SSS Card?

Sweet…Simple & Special(my kinda card if I must say so myself)

This is the card that I made for our Swap at convention when the PALS were together Friday evening. With the limitations of mobility with my hand I knew that I needed to create a card that would be do-able to mass produce but also reflect my style…I think I accomplished that!

Many of you know that I love to make kits and that kits are a big part of my Stampin’ Fun Business….and it is always a treat for me to “hunt out” the perfect stamp set that I want to showcase for a kit

I admit, when I saw the Holiday Catalog…this bundle, Hearts Come Home was definitely going to be a pick for a kit….but then I broke my wrist….oh well!

Here is a little secret and tip….this IS being carried over BUT remember when it gets carried over, it will not be a bundle then….meaning that you will have to purchase the stamp and framelits separately which means it will be more expensive….so the moral of this story is, I would get it now as face it – it’s a classic!

It simply cannot be any easier than this. I personally love to put Very Vanilla and White together….so rich and classic. How about you?

I am sure that you have seen many samples on the internet using these framelits and people put color behind the windows…(I say wow….you have patience) but to me, it can stand on its own like you see here.

Clean, classic ….CRISP! I took a scrap of Garden Green and using the framelit I just popped out the green tree and used green glue to adhere it . (Makes a BIG different…..right???)

Do you remember what I blogged about yesterday?….CLICK HERE to see it as it is was all about our new stamp positioning tool, STAMPARATUS……

While we do not have this gem yet….(but TOMORROW you can reserve yours) I do have a MISTI that I use. A stamp positioning tool is a HUGE help with stamping clean and straight sentiments each and every time….

When I did this I stamped the sentiment (using the MISTI) and then took it to the Big Shot with the framelit and PRESTO…..a beautiful and special element!

Are you wondering where the Red Rhinestone came from? EASY – I took a Red Sharpie and simply colored it….POOF…a special embellishment!

Lastly you can see this beauty all pulled together! I adore this card and YEP, it is going to be one that I will make more of and send. Using the Quilted Christmas DSP Stack was a perfect choice for a POP to this classic.

There are so many paper choices in this 6 X 6 pack….you can’t go wrong! Even though this is a 4 1/4″ square card….you CAN use one of our regular envelopes to mail this but you know me…I adore making my own envelopes!

There you go! I can’t wait to hear how you like this super simple card. I was tickled as it is right up my alley in my style. I am just goo-goo over using 2 neutrals together, so classic!

I will pop on tomorrow to remind you about RESERVING YOUR STAMPARATUS……I will be “johnny on the spot”  at 2 p.m. (Central) / 4 p.m. my time (EASTERN)

Enjoy the day…this week is zooming by and I feel like a 3 armed paper hanger trying to get caught up on “stuff”…all in good time! I admit, I missed my fur babies while I was gone…..

Milo has been attached to me since I returned home….next time – I might just sneak him as I had so many people ask me, “How is Milo”….my answer….PERFECT, thanks!

Yippee…STAMPARATUS SCOOP!!!

Hello and Happy Monday… I’m so confused with what the day is… I think it’s Monday?!?!?!

I have just returned home from being in Salt Lake City. I had so darn much fun being in Utah that I did not get a post in but trust me….I have a TON to share in upcoming posts!

Being with my team and all of the amazing PALS was super fun and seeing the new catalog and Sale-A-Bration Catalog was the best “Adult Christmas Wish Book List “ to see….(trust me  – my list is LONG)

Do you remember when you were a grasshopper and flipped through the Sears Catalog looking for the goodies that you wanted Santa to bring you???…..GREAT MEMORIES…..This is how I have felt the past several days! 🙂

Well hang on your hat because Stampin’ Up! has just unveiled a Stamp Positioner Tool.

I am SUPER-DE-DUPER excited and to be totally honest with you…..I did not think that I would be as excited as I am until I saw it “in action” being demonstrated over the weekend.

Grab something to drink and sit back and watch….trust me, you will see why this is exciting! I think that you will see why it has its own “unique” differences in comparison to other stamp postitioners….I am just thrilled!

Exciting…right? I know that there is a bunch to try to visualize but trust me…just think of the possibilities. I feel like Fred Flintstone kickin’ my heels! (Yabba Dabba Doo!!!)

Here are some images of the Stamparatus – trust me, there will be a ton more BUZZ about this new tool but I am doing my best to share.

Now to the question that I know you have…..When can I get it?

Well…this Thursday you will be able to preorder it. I will have more on my Blog sharing with you the “HOW’S and WHEN’S” but if it makes you feel any better…..I do not even have it….actually  – none of us do!

I just wanted to share the news to you as I am pleasantly surprised  with this exciting tool. You all know that I adore making cards in the “masses” and I have used stamp positioners for a long time….but the Stampin’ Up! Stamparatus is just the “icing on the cake”

I invite you to re-watch the video and take it all in and trust me, I will have more to share to make sure that it is “loud and clear” to you for the pre-order on Thursday. We all know that it is going to be hot!

Thursday starts the 1st wave of pre-orders and the Stamparatus will ship approximately February 1st. Again, more details to follow…I just had to hop on and share!

Gotta run….I haven’t even seen my hubby since last Tuesday and he will be walking in the door any minute….it was a GREAT time in Salt Lake City and I am super excited!

My cast is off and I am down to a brace….therapy is in swing and hopefully this “Simple Susan” will be rockin’ and rollin’……(I am really not a good candidate to be slowed down)

Please leave me a comment and let’s get some chattering going about this new kid on the block!

**WHERE DID THE NAME COME FROM????? – read below…..it is cute!**

Stamp: To impress a pattern or mark (especially an official one) on a surface, object, or document using an engraved or inked block or die or other instrument

Apparatus: The technical equipment or machinery needed for a particular activity or purpose

Stamp + Apparatus = Stamparatus   🙂

A keeper, oh so versatile!

Happy Hump Day! I have a card for you today that I think will make you happy and also say…I could use this layout/design fro so many occasions!

When I was in Houston, the gal across from me created this layout (hers was the Happy Birthday one) and when she showed me her worked I perked up and said, I would love to take a picture of it and also CASE it! I just knew you all would love it.

To me, this is one of those cards that hold the test of time because they are a classic and also a card that you can use so many different color combinations /sentiments.

The frameits that are used are the Botanical Builder Framelits and they can still be found on the clearance rack (just $19.80), I was shocked when she shared with me that this is what she used as honestly, this was a set that I did not use often but trust me, I cranked out a bunch of these puppies!

I decided to give it a try with a Christmas Theme and I think it worked out….what do you think? You can see that the layout itself is very straightforward. All you need to do is cut out (3) of each of the elements.

The sentiment came from the Snowflake Sentiments Bundle and YES – I would get the bundle on this one as the framelits are over the top on this one….

Look at what you have and just make it work. You can see that the Birthday one used pearls for the accents….and for the Christmas one I used the wee bitty dots from the Owl Builder Punch with Red Glimmer to create the accent….just have fun!

I happen to adore the “movement” that the flowers give…you can pull them forward for a dramatic look or simply leave them flat!

Here is a tip….if you are watching a game…a movie etc – why not pull scraps that you have and go to town cutting away. Plop your Mr. Big right with you and get ahead of the game (ha-ha) as you will be so happy that you have elements cut and ready to rumble when you want to make a card,

Here is also something that I would do…I would make up a bunch of these at one time with different colors and simply leave off the sentiment so when you need a card….POOF……stamp the sentiment and you are good to go!

I think that it is very fair to say that we all have a copious amount of product and even if you do not have these framelits I am sure that you have a floral one that will do the trick. It’s all about the (3’s) – just taking 3 of the same elements and use that as your focal and go from there! It will never let you down!

I used easy-peasy glue dots to put this whole thing today. Not only does it work like a charm ii is sooooo darn fast! Remember, there are ALWAYS ways to make projects simpler.

Well, there you go… a super card that can go through the test of time. These are the types of cards that catch my fancy; I ask you, why do we complicate things so?

Well I am in air right now on my way to Salt Lake City. I am blessed that I have 4 team members and a new gal that is by herself that is joining our fun……after all – I am the very 1st person that loves to rescue dogs and the name that we call our team is the Top Dogs…..so of course my heart is always opening to welcome someone. (She is going to think we are crazy….but it will be fun!)

The 6 of us are going to have a fun time together. Last night we started the slumber party early at Ramsey’s as we needed to be at the airport by 5:15…we made it and we are excited to have a fun time!

I brought my big camera so I am hopeful to take some great pictures and of course I will share. You know me, I love to share with you and I truly wish that each and every one of you could be with us.

I just keep pinching myself that I feel so lucky to laugh, learn and make these amazing friendships with so many amazing and talented crafters. It is always fun and healthy to be with people that make you laugh, make you smile, simply make your day!

I will see you on Friday as I will share with you my swap card that I made. Trust me, it is a total “Susan card” being that it is super simple but I was tickled with it…..it’s a keeper and one that I am actually going to make more of to send.

Enjoy the day, make a memory and don’t forget how incredibly blest we are! 🙂

My “GUTS” for the team!

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a great weekend. This is a FAST week fro me as I am leaving tomorrow to start the trek to Salt Lake City for the Stampin’ Up! Event! WHEW…..I fell like I just unpacked my suitcase and here I go again!

I bet you are wondering….what the heck is this title about? Hang tight…..it will make sense.

Two months ago I started to send my team some “GUTS” – yep, that’s right…..GUTS…Now you might be asking what is guts? To me, it is elements that they can take and create. The main goal is to just HAVE FUN….perhaps STRETCH YOURSELF….and to THINK OUT OF THE BOX.

This is something totally optional as trust me, I get it…..sometimes you just down’t feel like participating but my hopes are to create a fun activity and let me tell you….it is super fun to see what they come up with!

For those that choose to play…..I send them a goodie…..remember, there are no winners and no losers…it is just a fun team activity! I am a bit behind the 8 ball as I have not posted the fun cards they made with these guts to our facebook group….but I am always amazed at how each of us can start with the same elements and come out with something totally different.

Before we go much further I have a confession…It was not until I was completely done this card that I realize that I did not use an element that I provided…..and that was the color soft suede. What I would have done was to have matted the DSP in the soft suede to add that element! (Silly Susan!!!)

Here are the “GUTS” that I gave to everyone. No rules….just have fun creating…..you can add anything else…but you need to use the below elements….(AGAIN….I was the SUPER LOSER as I forgot, totally forgot an element)

  • a white doily (I chose this because I NEVER use them and wanted to S T R E T C H myself and see the inspiration from others)
  • a piece of the DSP from the Coffee Break Collection
  • a piece of Soft Sky and Soft Suede

I am sure that you can imagine the vast array of interpretations there are…as many use the “flip side” of the DSP….today I was playing it safe with this subtle print but the star of the show was using this below stamp set……Hug in a Mug.

At a first pass through the catalog I breezed right past this but then I received a card from my upline, Lisa Pretto and she used it….I thought….WOWZERS….

Once I saw that it was a photopolymer….easy decision – it needed to be on Randall Lane. I admit, I am getting rather picky about the stamps I purchase as I adore the photopolymer ones…..just think how adorable this would be for tags and even cards all Winter long.

I invite you to look at the small elements that are in this stamp set…they are SUPER -DE-DUPER “fillers” as I like to call it for space that you need a “little something”…just sayin’

This is a super straight forward card…..and it was fun to whip up! I did use the Stampin’ Blends to color in the images. I am having fun playing with them. After I adhered everything together, I took the Wink Of Stella pen over to add some shine…..a fun and fast touch!

I know that it is hard to see the Wink of Stella but please do not forget about this gem. It adds just the right amount of sparkle/specialness to your project!

Let’s quickly chat about the blends…..last Wednesday in Nov 1st…..I blogged about the Blends……CLICK HERE to see that post. These new pens have been the BUZZ,,,,,,and for good reasons….they are super easy to work with!

My goal is to have you NOT GET ALL WORKED UP about knowing how to blend. What I want….is for you to feel comfortable and enjoy the process and THEN…..we can work towards the blending……there is no need to stress….it will come – in time.

With that said, I decided to offer something that will help make the experience a bit more basic….a bit more relaxing….and also a little easier on your pocketbook buy stretching it out over 3 months.
