Product Share time!

Good morning and I know that many of you have sent me mails….“ARE YOU GOING TO DO A PRODUCT SHARE?” Yep, you betcha! My catalogs were mailed to my customers last week and I am sure that many of you that have the catalogs are waiting for a product share to roll around!

Today I am just showcasing the Swatch Books and Card Stock Swatches on a Ring and then pop back tomorrow and I will showcase the rest of the Product Share that I am offering. I decided to do it this way because I know that it is a lot to take in….so breaking it down might be helpful to people that are new to shares.

The (2) shares that I am showcasing today are what I call “lifesavers to me” – these are what I like to call my friends in my work area because they are something that I reach for and “lean on” like a great friend.

I am all about making things easier to grab and decide when I am creating because face it – that is what it is about….to have fun and not be frustrated. These (2) shares keep me happy, on my toes and in a nut shell…I “could not – would not” be without them!

If you have purchased these from me in the past, please leave a comment and let people know how you like them. I will say that once you have them…you will always order them because they take up so little room but are chocked full of info to make your creating fun and enjoyable.

Share #1 – Swatch Books  $37.50 (There are 15 swatch books of amazing new paper) FREE SHIPPING 😆

These Swatch Books are a dream to not have the clutter on your work area of full sheets of paper – trying to decide what would work for you….and what wouldn’t. The swatches allow you to flip through and see the colors and patterns….figure out how you can mix and match.

Each Swatch Book will have all of the info you need….the DSP name, item #, price, colors that coordinate…this in itself deserves a WOOT-WOOT! Here is the back with all of the “vitals”  😀

Share #2 – Card Stock Swatches on a Ring $8.00

I offer these at every Product Share because they are not only helpful but they also make a wonderful gift for a crafty friend or downline and this is a tool that I reach for DAILY! (Actually the Swatch Books and Card Stock Ring share the same tin on my workspace)

You will get all of our Card Stocks all with the name and color family on each swatch. You can see how handy this would be to pull out several colors to see how you like them together. I have them divided by color family and they do include the Thick Card Stock in Very Vanilla and Whisper White. In total you will receive 52 Card Stock Swatches plus the dividers all on a ring!

SHIPPING:

  • If you are ordering Share #1 – The Swatch Books – SHIPPING IS FREE!
  • If you are ordering Share #2 – Card Stock Swatches – Shipping is $3.50

If you would like one of these shares, please email me and put in the Subject Line – PRODUCT SHARE so I can SPOT IT and I will reserve a share for you. I use Pay Pal and I will send an acknowledgment email to you and then I will do a Pay Pal Invoice.

Please remember that I cannot order the Designer Series Paper until June 1st (yippee – that is just 2 weeks from today) but know that I always ship my order expedited so in turn I will get your shares OUT THE DOOR TO YOU as fast as my hands can cut, label and ship! (I already have a surplus of the Share #2 ready to rumble)

I hope that you will pop back tomorrow to see the offerings for the remainder of the Product Shares that I will be offering….paper, ribbon, embellishments…..OH MY!!!

Have a GREAT DAY and get excited to get your shares ordered and off your mind – time to focus and take in the NEW CATALOG….this is always an exciting time of the year!

How about a Scoop!?!?

Well…it is going to happen today on the East Coast…we are to hit 90+ degrees today and guess who does not have air-conditioning? Yep, ME! Now… I totally have high regards to those of you that do not care for air-conditioning because I marvel you for not complaining (like I do) – I think I have it honestly as I am my Dad’s carbon copy when it comes to this topic.

We “should” be in business by the end of the day….but the wonderful men that are working at the house loosely said the word “should” but I am hoping that my cookies might “sweeten the deal” to get it done! I woke up super early to make fresh cookies for them so the kitchen wouldn’t be too hot.

After my blog post yesterday ~ I thought that I would show you 1st hand how easy it is to USE UP that DSP that you have….even from a 6″ X 6″ square! This is a classic clean and simple card….just like I like it!

There is simply nothing to say from me about this card because it is soooo super easy but still sooooo cute! I did use a product that we use to have and I bet some of you have it …it is called glossy accents. It is a double whammy…..it is an adhesive (really super strong) and it also can be used as a gloss as I have done for you today! (I was fading waiting for it to dry) when I took the picture….but if I had waited 30 minutes more you would have seen that gorgeous shine…..

The other product that I used were some “dew drops”  – I love the look and feel of these little gems….I am not sure why but they always bring a smile to my face! I use the glossy accents to adhere them as I already had it out!

We all know that there is nothing more classic and symbolic (for a fun time) than a good old fashion Ice Cream Cone. Stampin’ Up! did a great job with this bundle and YEP…it is being carried over but not as a bundle…it will be a la carte therefore you will not get the 10% discount so HERE IS THE REAL SCOOP….if you like to save money, than SCOOP this up!

You all know I adore sentiments and I am thrilled that these framelits are being carried over because I truly love the simplicity of a “single word” and the impact it can do with a clean card like I have for you today! What makes it super fun is that I adhered (4) of them together….it gives you a great look and feel and it really is not a “biggie” to do – I simple sprayed it and POOF – sticks together like a charm.

I hope that this showed you that a piece of DSP (4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″) that is super clean and fun + a good old fashion Ice Cream Cone + a “sweet” word = ONE GREAT CARD…and you bet that whomever receives it….will be smiling. This card would be great to add a gift card to!

Fingers crossed that the air is on by the end of the day….or Milo and I might sneak over to my Dad’s to sleep. I know, I know….I am a baby about this but I simply cannot sleep when it is hot….and Milo agrees that he needs to be with me! (I like the way he thinks)

Playing is fun, shopping is fun. You can already see that there are many items that are already sold out….so please do not be disappointed – remember jammie shopping is totally ON TREND! See you tomorrow…..have a fabulous HUMP DAY!

A tip for your Tuesday – Storing your DSP!

I have a tip for you today about storing your DSP. I have shared ideas in the past but today I also have a video for you to see how I like to use the P-Touch Label Maker. I know that many of you have this label maker and if you do not, I would highly recommend to get one as you will be amazed at how handy this is all over your house!

One thing that I gets comments about is the fact that you do not like the excess waste there is with making labels and I used to feel your frustration as I felt the same way…..but there is a way to do so with little waste!

I have a bunch of links for you and to just make it easier, I have them all linked to Amazon. I know that there are some that are not huge fans of Amazon….but they do have all of the products that I used.

  • Paper Holder – I use just (1) for the Annual Catalog but if I were you I would get (2) so you can easily add the Holiday Paper and Occasions paper in. It truly makes it so easy to have the 12 X 12 sheets in one place!
  • Paper Files – I know that these are a bit pricey but they do keep me organized and as I have said, being able to use them each year – a huge bonus!
  • Dividers for the Files – These are the ones that I put the dsp and then the word scraps – I keep all of my full sheets and I do also but 1/2 sheets (6″ X 12″) but once I cut them any smaller, they go behind the divider  – just makes it super easy to find a scrap in a jif!

  • Brothers P-Touch Label Maker – This is truly my friend. I adore this and I will say that I use it all the time! Just love it and it is a great gift to give to just about anyone. (even my peeps that used to make fun of me with this…..now find it handy!)
  • Tape – white tape with black letters
  • Off Brand Tape – I have used this and it works just as well and the price – WOW!

Please remember, there are soooooo many different ways to organize  – this is just a system that works for me with DSP’s that Stampin’ Up! offers. With the new catalog coming down the pike, here is a great way for you to be ahead of the game. I re-use and re-use these pockets…I probably have had them for 10+years…..you can see on the video how easy the labels peel of and POOF – print and put a new one on!

Here is a video for you to see how I like to use the label maker to my advantage to save tape. Trust me, I was on the other side before being so frustrated with simply wasting tape….no more – this is a great tip and I figured that you would like to see it in action!

PLEASE ….reach out to me if you need further explanation….and also – leave me a comment with how you like this method and/or share something that works for you! I have tried many, many different ways but I always go back to this – I am all about having a system that works but does not take up much room.

I also like the ability to grab them off of my shelf and go…..being able to have something that is portable yet still will keep the product clean and in perfect condition – a WIN-WIN all that way around! (and THAT MAKES ME HAPPY) 😀

Happy Mothers Day & Step It Up! Sunday

Woot-woot today to all of the Mom’s out there. To me, being a Mom is the best! I truly can say that I enjoy and treasured all aspects of being a Mom….no doubt that there have been times of patience and curveballs but I love my peeps and I love being a Mom.

I also want to give a hug to all of you that might be having a tough day as well….as I am in that court as well as my wonderful Mom is no longer with me to share the day with but she is and always will be in my heart! We used to love spending the day together and doing something fun and this IS the day that she would say, NOW YOU CAN PLANT YOUR FLOWERS OUTSIDE…..(she swore by the motto of not planting flowers until Mothers Day)

Well…thoughts? This post is showing you the “Stepped Up Version” and you decide! I have a confession….I was going (or should I say I planned) to do more but I STOPPED right here as I thought it was just the perfect amount of a change and I was super happy.

So…side by side, YOU DECIDE! I am over the moon happy that I bought this bundle and truly I am asking myself….how did I miss it before. I swear, when you do not see a bunch of blogs showcasing a product…..you seem to skip right by it ~ I am thrilled that I hit that button.

I have some great pictures for you so you can see closely the details of this bird with absolutely no effort as the detailed framelit does the job for you and then you can see that I added the soft suede beak and feet to our little friend….and I did that by cutting it out in soft suede and then adhering it right over the blue.

I am going to say…..I LOVE this card and the changes I made are soooooooo minimal but I think that the “feel and texture” wins! I was going to add some little yellow flowers as I love yellow and blue together but before I did so – I said – STOP…it looks great as is!

LOOK at the details in this bird…..you will see that I have stamped the images from the stamps in this bundle and YEP, there are great birds that you could color and then cut them out….but if you are in a time crunch – just use these framelits!

Below is the catalog image of the bundle, remember…..it is only available at the bundle price until May 31st, after that it it is just a la carte! Early bird gets the worm….so don’t wait, I think that you can see the possibilities of this set. You will see all of the products that I used at the end of the post.

Yesterday I shared with you that I was going to remind you how I like to condition my stamps. I ALWAYS do this with the photopolymer ones as I think that it is super important to “condition them” to get great stamps each and every time! I have a MISTI and I find it to be helpful for doing a whole stamp set like you see below.

By all means, you do NOT need a MISTI and before I had a MISTI, I simply used my stamp blocks and did the same like I would be stamping regularly. (This just saves me a bunch of time)

Here is a funny….do you see the orange? Well…when we have a paper that is discontinued….I use them to do odd thing like this – I do think that you need to stamp your images on a paper of like quality that you will be using ultimately so I always have a stash of papers that are not current that perhaps were not my favorite (for some reason I do not use orange a bunch)

I can hear the GASPS through the computer when you see that I stamped everything in black….YEP, that’s how I like to roll – I like to go ahead and get them dirty because face it – they are going to get dirty and this way I have it already done! I personally think that it is so much easier to find your stamps with they are already black ….

Now let’s get back to the card…I told you that I would share with you the dimensions of this sweet card. Please remember, you could easily adapt this to a regular A-2 Card but you know me, I adore my square cards!

I totally forgot to put the correct ribbon that I used on the line up at the end (just noticed it after I had it typed up)….I used this – the  5/8″ Burlap Ribbon (this IS being carried over and I would highly suggest that you have a roll of this in your stash). WHY???? easy – it works very well for an instant pop of texture and then you can also make a bow and you will have the same material used.

I could have made the bow with the linen thread but the colors would have been off a bit….just trying to give you a tip! (sometimes it is the little things that make a difference)

  • The card is a 4 1/2″ Square in Thick Whisper White
  • The Pear Pizzazz is  a 4 1/8″ square
  • The DSP from the NEW Color Theory Stack is a 4″ square.
  • The birds are also from the new stack and WOW – was it easy…..just a crank through Mr Big and just LOOK at the details in the birds!
  • I used the brush ends of the markers in Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede to ink up the branch before stamping and then I did take an aqua painter to make the colors appear more solid (you could easily skip this)
  • To add some texture, I took (2) pieces of the 5/8″ burlap ribbon and using tear & tape I anchored them down letting the ends flip up a bit to give movement on the card.
  • I pulled apart some longer threads of the ribbon and made a simple bow and adhered it to the ranch with a glue dot.
  • The Foam Adhesive Strips were the perfect adhesive for this card….you can bend them to exactly where you want them!
  • I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede and snipped it to a banner and matted it with Pear Pizzazz.
  • I did use the Envelope Punch Board to make a custom envelope but you could easily use a regular envelope!

Well…that is IT for this fun weekend post! I hope that my little birds brought you some joy and hopefully have also shed some light to you in case you are like me, and MISSED IT in the catalog!

I will see you on Tuesday and I have a great post for you…it is an organizational one that is quite appropriate for this time of the year. We all know that the new catalog will be rolling out soon and we need to be organized before it comes so we make practical decisions in ordering etc.

I find that if I am honest with what I have and know what I have, I can make better decisions. Hopefully this makes sense….you will just have to POP back and see!

Have a wonderful and special day….HUGE MOM HUGS to all, I know that we all know a MOM out there that could use a hug, a way to go, a I’m proud of you…..remember, it’s the little and unexpected things that make a HUGE difference. 😀

Simple Saturday!

This is a special weekend for MOM’S out there but I will say THIS MOM is super excited to be at home this weekend and have one of the “do nothing but everything at the same time” weekends. Just having “no agenda” days are THE BEST in my opinion. I have super sweet card for you this weekend and it is from the Bundle, Best Birds….and I just bought it!

I wanted to showcase this and also give you A TIP. Once I saw the new catalog I naturally looked at what was walking the plank and what was being carried over. (Sounds normal…right???) Next, I look to see the bundles that are being carried over and then look to see if there are some that I do not have and then weigh the options.

This is why this is the first time I have blogged about it because I just bought it! When you pop back tomorrow I will share and also show you how I conditioned the stamps, a tip that I have blogged about before but it doesn’t hurt to see it again!

This IS being carried over but IT IS NOT at the bundled price and this gem – you do want both …the stamp and the dies because they really are detailed!

The over all card size is a 4 1/4″ square and tomorrow I will share with you all of the measurements etc….and remember, you could easily use a regular envelope to mail this is it would fit just fine, but I like to make my own envelopes with the Envelope Punch Board – a unique and fun finishing touch that just some to you when you open up the mailbox and see a square card!

For the “lift” of my feather friends I used the foam adhesive strips to add the POP for the images. It was a breeze to just cut a strip and the have an instant lift without having to cut up dimensionals. I admit, I forget about these adhesive strips and I am not sure why – they are great and can be use for so many things other that for shaker cards.

You are getting to see a “sneak peek” of a new DSP paper….it is a 6″ X 6″ paper stack called color theory. It is a very interesting one and one that you need to look at an have an open mind. At a glance you feel like you are at a paint store looking at paint swatches but then the lightbulb goes on and you say – that is a perfect about of “splash” !

In the coordinating colors you see that the green is Old Olive but I paired it with Pear Pizzazz and I think it looks super! Please do not be afraid to try other shades in the same family….you will be happy that many work.

To color the images, I used the brush end of our markers and then took the Aqua Painter over the stamped image and blended color a bit to make it a bit more solid in the color but you could easily skip this step. The marker colors I used were soft suede and pear pizzazz.

The birds were a cinch – a good old crank through “Mr. Big” with the framelits in this bundle and a pice of blue paper from this stack – easy and worked for me! I really do not know why I passed up this bundle before because I am amazed at the detail of these birds! Tomorrow I will share with you all of the elements to this bundle and I think that you will see for yourself that is is a wonderful collection.

Now let’s have a brief chat about these sentiments and the font. They are beautiful and so clean, crisp and simple. (again, why didn’t I give this more attention….????) – sometimes I think that this happens because you do not see a bunch of bloggers showcasing it but once you do….you have a different pair of glasses on and the lightbulb goes off!

You can see that the moral of this birdie story is….this is going to be around for at least another year and who knows…..maybe longer but we all know that the bundle price WILL NOT be around starting June 1st!

When I take pictures for my blog I try to take them from both angles….and I just could not decide which one to show you so I thought – why not BOTH because this is such a cutie/classic! (You see….even I get tickled with myself every once in a while) I hope that this sweet card made you give this bundle another thought!

Naturally if you are not a fan of square cards, you could easily change that but if I were you…I would make up several to have on hand and then just leave off the sentiment or better yet, make several up for someones birthday and then stamp the various sentiments and let the recipient decide what she would want.

Giving several cards to someone as a gift with some stamps is always a special “little something” to give and the BEST THING it is a win-win for both of you because you are happy and proud of yourself and she will be thrilled to have a stash of handmade love to have on hand!

I hope that this little square card and this little birdie brought you a bit of joy and a smile. I cannot wait for you to see ow I stepped it up for tomorrow. That is the challenge that I enjoy doing for you each weekend.

I say, give this bundle another look….I think you will see that the stamps/framelits are a classic and fun but the sentiments – “blue ribbons” for them….just soooo classic!

Enjoy your day, find some “me time” and smile!
