“Happy Birthday” in a pinch!

Good morning! I have a card for you today and it is super easy (but I think that it is super fun…just sayin’) and then at the end of the post I have a funny for you about Milo! This is a quick post as there is not much to say but EASY-PEASY!

I know that you all get this….that DARN TIME THING….it happens to all of us and I was looking at the paper that I have YET to put away (the NEW Pick a Pattern DSP) and I will say, I love it! (you might want to remember that for in the future Blog Candy Trivia) but I admit, I had a tough time “giving up the other side of the paper” – as I love them BOTH!

Stampin’ Up! does have great paper and I know that we all get so excited to see, feel and use the new goodies….well…that tile will be here in a SNAP so until then, let me spoil you with sneak peaks of what is to come!

Clean and simple is the name of todays game as it is the easiest card to make! Just think of the endless DSP’s that you can use and also the cardstock colors that would work!

The green that I used today was Pear Pizzazz, I will admit that I used to forget about this paper but over the past year I have used it more and more. Do you ever do that? Go through waves of using a color over and over and then totally ignoring others 🙄

I started with the thick white cardstock and then put a piece of Pear Pizzazz over the whole front. WHY did I do it that way? Well…..EASY – I really like a solid feeling card in my hand and the weight of our heavy weight card stock is perfect. (Remember, we are getting THICK VERY VANILLA in the new catalog) 😀

Now let’s chat about the Happy Birthday die….is this in your I JUST HAVE TO HAVE LIST? If not, I really think that it needs to be as this is one that will be an endless keeper as we all know having an image like this creates an INSTANT CARD…..just like I I am sharing with you today!

I used SticK It on the back of the paper before I fan it through Mr. Big and here is another WOOT-WOOT for you – in the NEW catalog we are having a double sided product like Stick It…so there you go – another MUST HAVE for your list! (I am sorry, am I your enabler?)

You have to admit, this is easy but it is classic. The only element in this card that is not flat are the embellishments…..they are green dew drops that I purchased from Pretty Pink Posh and I love the fun and modern feel that they give.

Here is a quick shot of the paper – I do adore it that we have 2 sides so if there is a side that you do not care for as much – FLIP IT and use the other BUT….I am stuck as I LOVE BOTH OF THESE….oh well, guess I will just have to buy more paper as after all, I get it at 25% off. I am just thrilled with this collection and I am getting excited to do a product share for the new catalog.

I am “clickin’ my heels” with the simplicity and sheer fun of this card today! This IS a die cut that needs to be on your very 1st order as we all can agree that this is a classic! (If I were you….I would get a piece of paper out and start writing down things that you see before your catalog comes to you next week)

You can see that there are not many products on your picture to PIN but that is a GOOD THING because than you can see that it is super easy to make. Let color make the card – sometime we over think things and if we just say – FUN & DONE…..it can work!

Now to Milo…Mr. PERFECT MILO – right now he has a new name, MILO THE MURDERER. Wednesday evening was picture perfect beautiful on the East Coast and I kept saying to John, look at Milo – he is just looking out the window (he was on the sofa staring out for literally hours) – when it was time for us to go to bed and naturally it was dark then…..John let the dogs out to have a final potty break.

When he came back to our room I said, where is Mr. Perfect? John said, I figured he was back with you….NOPE – so back out John went and then I heard him say (rather loudly) COME HERE….you have to see this – my dear sweet perfect Milo and a baby bunny that now was his toy in his mouth and I wish that you could have seen his face……it was like he was BEAMING WITH PRIDE and that tail was going a mile a minute.

Naturally we opened the door and said DROP IT…and the great murderer he was he did so and then I exited quickly because I just do not do well with situations like this…..then I could hear John mumbling and mumbling and when he finally came back he said, well YOUR PERFECT DOG….not only took out 1 bunny….he brought the family up!

Milo usually sleeps with us….but not this night, John put him in a kennel and said – YOU SLEEP IN A CELL TONIGHT and think about what you did….and the best thing was…on Thursday morning when we woke up John said, YOUR SENTENCE IS NOT UP and YOU HAVE BEEN DENIED BAIL….. 😀

All is good now….he is back to being Mr. Perfect and that makes me happy. Things like this happen in the Spring….and trust me, it is not the first and not the last that my fur babies will bring me their trophies! The above picture was him the “day after the kill” as he was so tired from being in jail all night, he much prefers our bed!

I hope to see you back tomorrow…as I am going to play with another “newbie” – It is FUN to have new toys and I admit change is hard and also change sometimes makes us step out of the box…..I like stepping out of the box…how about YOU!??!

Have a great dat!

Now I say…..

How can you NOT take a deep sigh and smile…..

Good Thursday to all! I am hoping that today is a better day as I had a 24 hour bug that WOWZERS, knocked me! I am giddy with this card as I have adored this stamp set from the very first time I saw it in the catalog last year….but the sad news is –

It is WALKING THE PLANK

That’s ok because, Love & Affection is still available (for now) and the sentiment – that is from the Beautiful You Stamp Set and that IS being carried over! (I am super happy with that as there are soooo many amazing things that you can do with this stamp set!)

The inspiration for this card came from a card swap at the On Stage in Richmond. The minute I received it I knew that this is a “keeper” and I just had to share it with you!

Let’s get to it and at the end I will show you the swap card that I received. I will say, this stamp set is sooooo forgiving and the best tip that I can give you is to HAVE FUN…..pick your color scheme and GO FOR IT!

The beauty of a card like this is the fact that there are NO RULES…just GO FOR IT – pick the colors that you like and have a great date with Stamps, Ink & Paper! You can overlap with color, you can mask (I did not do that at all)…all I say is – JUST HAVE FUN!

Do you remember….the mantra that I have said over and over ~ the basics work…each and every time – today the “basics” that I am using are the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Ovals….you just cannot go wrong with the basics!

You can easily tell that I have not put away the DSP from yesterday  -I just love it and it is soooooo surprisingly that I love it so much as it comes from a very whimsical collection but you know Stampin’ Up! – there are always 2 sides to their great paper so one side will make you smile!

It is funny, there are times that you just “have to” let the newbies settle in before you make a decision to come to your home! (that’s why I offer product shares and YEP – I will be doing shares with the new upcoming catalog) I truly thing that when you see the catalog, the pictures of the papers just do not do them justice – you need to see them in person to let them grow on you!

I am sure that you are getting tired of these type of pictures but I will say that I get many emails about the envelopes! Most of the time I use a 1/4″ strip of a solid cardstock and then add a 2″ X 6″ piece of paper and then cut the excess away – EASY – FAST – DONE!

Now here is the card that I received while in Richmond. Is it the best for what! I am sorry that I cannot give the credit that it deserves to the “swap stamper” . I adore her color combination and actually you can see that she “stepped it up” by masking the oval before she added the sentiment!

A great example of there are many way to do things!

Here is you picture to save for the future and I hope that you are getting as excited as I am for the new catalog to come out! I LOVE the feedback that I get from you and YES – my catalogs are ordered and I can hardly wait to spoil my customers with the new catalog and more!

If you are not currently working with a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I would love to send you a catalog….just email me and I will be happy to do so!

Have a great day and I hope that this has inspired you to stamp…stamp & stamp some more…. Have FUN with colors! I hope to see you back tomorrow as I have a Friday FUNNY for you with Milo – (my perfect Milo)

Darn, I love that little dog and it is so funny how much JOY you can get from a little guy that needed a home!

An EASY Medallion beauty!

Good “Hump Day” to you! Today I have a simply CLASSIC card that would be sooooo over the top appropriate for many cards that we need to send out! I think that I should say “THANK YOU” to my super sweet Aunt Jean for this post.

She asked me if I ever made any cards that were very plain…no flowers….no sayings….just something that she could write a note for many variety of occasions! Well….when someone asks me – OF COURSE I am thrilled to grant her her wish! (especially for her as she is just the sweetest)

I know that everyones in boxes have been flooded with post using this amazing new product but today I decided to showcase it SUPER SIMPLE without using the items that are in this amazing bundle to should you a different look and still be able to inspire you that you can make something WITHOUT a bunch of fuss!

You are able to order this bundle now….there is a starter one below but at the end of the post I will highlight this “premier” one and I would FOR SURE get that one…..(now just hang on with me – I can feel the sticker shock setting in but BE PATIENT)

As I said above, there have been so many posts using this beauty but you really need to understand and just “take in” the genius beauty of the versatility of these framelits ~ these take Die Cutting to the top of a mountian! As you know, Mary Fish is my Upline and friend and I think that her below video “nailed it” showcasing how they all come together!

Please sit back and watch this short video…it will really turn the light on for you!

Now you can see how I created this amazing medallion….(actually effortless) because of “Mr. Big” and the amazing dies. Do you all remember how I say OVER AND OVER about having the classics….well – here you go ~ the layering circle framelits make is a breeze to cut the medallion out – you see…..the classics ARE your friends!

Doesn’t this classic just make you smile? You know that I adore clean and classic lines and I also adore navy and white….but this pop of Emerald Envy just screams a keeper!

A quick Night of Navy enamel dot in the middle of the fun is the perfect finishing touch without adding bulk to the card.

Here you go again…another thing I have said OVER and OVER…when you have a rather simple and classic card, pull out the simply scored and score the sides of the card to create an instant depth – works like a charm each and every time. There is no need to make things complicated as SIMPLE WORKS!

Here is your picture to pin! I would suggest you starting a board called Eastern Palace and go have fun looking at all of the AMAZING samples so many have made. I think that you will see that this truly is a unique set and one that will work for many occasions.

Now to the “Premier Bundle”…I know…I know – you are seeing that $103.50 and going YIKES?!?!?

Trust me, I get it because when I first saw that I thought “how in the heck can it be that much?” well…I did the math (probably like you did) and actually I found out that it was a great deal as you get it at the Bundled Price (which saves you $5.50) and then the THICK Vanilla Card Stock ($7.00) and the Envelopes ($6.50) so in total – you are saving $19.00.

Now THIS IS the way to get this Premier Bundle, CLICK HERE and just get the Ultimate Bundle for $99….just hear me out and below I have done the math for you….(well, John is my in home resident CPA) 😀

For $99 you can get and it all ships for FREE!

  • The Eastern Palace Premier Bundle (# 147207, $103.50)
  • The other (2) In Color Stamp Pads (Berry Burst #144083 & Powder Pink #144084) $6.50 X 2 = $13.00
  • A pack of the NEW In Colors 8 1/2 X 11 Cardstock – (4) sheets of each of the new colors (#144247, $8.00)

Now here is the other way to look at it…..if you were to just put this on an order it would be:

  • $124.50 + shipping ($12.45) = $136.95 – I do not know about you but I would take that $37.95 savings!

There is no BIG BAD WOLF…Stampin’ Up! makes it way too easy for us to be able to get a 20% or 25% discount each and everyday that we want it. I love hobbyist and I want you to be able to get a discount. I truly do not care if you are my very best customer or if you were a SUD before….I just love what I do and I love to be able to share with you the facts….it is easy, no obligations and it is fun!

Whew…I think I’ve stumped you!

Good Morning! Well…I was like a pig in a big puddle of mud but I admit, I did not think that I would be so consumed with having so much sheer FUN with my friend Michelle! I truly thought that after each day of having fun at class we would come back to the hotel and just sit, relax, do our blogs…….NOT IN THE CARDS! (ha-ha….CARDS…get it) 😀

Before we get what I have been up to……we need to have a WINNER (well….actually no one got it 100% correct) but I have to say that I was as shocked as I think you are going to be with the answers! MANY people got #1 & #3 correct but it was the middle one that STUMPED YOU…..here you go! The answers are…..

  1. What is the name of Stamp Set that has been in the Catalog the longest?     LOVELY AS A TREE
  2. What is the most popular bundle from the Occasions Catalog?     NAILED IT BUNDLE
  3. How many pages was the first Stampin’ Up Catalog?     64 Pages

As I was driving on Thursday I was thinking that I was going to be short on time that night to post so I called Demonstrator Support and had fun with asking different trivia questions. The gal was so sweet to email me a list of fun facts and these were just 3 that I picked so I might to this in the future.

Are YOU AS SHOCKED AS I AM about #2 question? I admit, I think that it is a super unique set and I do have it but I was surprised….I for sure was thinking many of your guesses would have been the correct one.

We all owe our dear “CHRIS R from Iowa” for helping me with this as I texted her and asked if she would be so kind to scroll through the comments and give me the scoop. What I decided to do (with Chris’s help) was to take the ones that had the #1 & #3 answer correct and then pick the random winner…and that was……

So the moral of the story is…Andrea H, YOU WON so please email me with your address and when I am able to order you the “new goods” I will do so!

I really thought that Dragonfly Dreams or Tasty Treats was going to be the winner….and it goes to show you how wrong I was! Thanks for playing along with the fun and I will do trivia again as I just love games…..NOW TO WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING……

We were in Columbus Ohio at a Simon Says Create event and there are no words to say other that WOW. We went from one thing to another and having a ball and I will say that I have learned a bunch but more importantly I had FUN and meeting lots of great people.

I thought that we were making a long trek to go…..from Maryland and Florida but WOW – there were people from the UK….Texas, California, Washington State, Tennessee, Montana, Maine….it was just unreal that there was so many from all over and in total there were only 120 people…and WOW – it was great and were we spoiled!

After I picked her up from the airport…..FIRST STOP.The Container Store…we both we in heaven, sheer heaven…..that is like a TOY STORE to me as I love to look for goodies that make my life easier!

Next door there was a great home decor store (sorry, I can’t remember the name) but it was beautiful and fun. Naturally the horse decor made me pitter pat….but I hope that you get a kick out of the hand towel!  🙂

This event was sold out as fast as you can say SOLD OUT….and we were thrilled that we secured a spot! Not only did we have a blast being together but we had a blast creating, learning and doing what we all love…..crafting!

I adore Jennifer McQuire and I just could not wait to take a class from her and Kristina and wow ~ it was fabulous. As they were going over the way the class was going to go….they said – “This would have gone much faster if we all had a MISTI” but we are going to do the best job we can….and then…..they both said as they were smiling and laughing…..YOU ALL ARE GETTING A MISTI!!!!

Naturally that was FUN and oh so generous but then we received 2 more amazing stamp sets…..I could go on and on but these past days were a “pinch me” time for me and even though I felt  terrible that I have not had time to pop on the computer.

You can see from the above line up of teachers…it was amazing. I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly engaging Tim Holtz was. He is one talented crafter but equally a talented instructor. I was truly blown away from his presentation.

Even though many of his work is not my style….I walked away having FUN and feeling so rewarding and proud of the creations I created ~ a great example of it is good to go away from your comfort zone. He is just a dynamic person and sooooo talented. He ability to be able to control and have 60 people do 4 projects was just amazing as there was so much detail and technique that he puts into his work.

Walking away from the time together, I truly learned to appreciate the fun it is to really try something that is out of the box for you. Tim’s wealth of knowledge of the crafting world and his obvious passion he has in exploring so many different mediums was a true eye opener to me, just one fabulous instructor.

This was the HUGE TOTE that I brought (as I drove) and Michelle and I had these GRAND DREAMS of playing with many of the new Stampin’ Up! goodies that we already have our hands on….and also to practice techniques and FUN that we learned….this was re-zipped up and brought right back to Randall Lane!.

Our days were jammed backed from early and then after we had dinner….we came back to the hotel and crashed! It was sheer FUN and by the ends of our 3 days together we felt that we had sooooooo much jammed into the 3 days we looked at each other and said – I AM EXHAUSTED (but in a GOOD way)

One night…..one of my team members drove over (a long way!) and we had dinner together and it was soooooo fun to grab a hug and share some time with Pam….(as we have never met in person) ~ another great example of this whole thing that we do…..IS SIMPLY THE BEST! The buzz that was surrounding me while away was so apparent that many people have met and developed relationships from simply connecting from blogs, the internet etc…..

Simon Says also had a POP UP SHOP (oh so smart of them as they had a captive audience of 120 crazed crafters) so that was another highlight if fun. If they did not have it at their shop…you could order it and the warehouse was very close and every couple of hours they would fulfill orders that were not at the Pop Up Shop.

By the end of our time there – they knew that my number was 004 and Michelle’s was 003 and it was fun to just add to the bag and check out at the end! Here was another brilliant move that they did….during the classes if you saw a product that they were demonstrating that you wanted, PRESTO….raise your paddle with your number and POOF…..someone walked wrote it down and into your bag it went!

Michelle and I were in our stamping glory and by the end of our time….our joy and smile tanks were filled to the brim! Back to reality….until tomorrow!

When Susan’s away…it’s time for BLOG CANDY!

Yesterday I shared that I was “away” for some “continuing education” (ha-ha) with a fellow PAL and I am hoping to be able to hop on the computer later today to share with you what we are up to…trust me, it is going to be fun!

I thought – what could we do that would be FUN and I think I have a keeper for you! What will you win???? Well…how about this – you all know that the NEW CATALOG is right around the corner and you all know that we have 5 NEW IN COLORS….so how about a pack of the new in colors Cardstock and also a pack of the NEW MINI Stampin’ Dimensionals. (as soon as I can order them I will)

I have a feeling that there are going to be multiple people that guess the answers so if that is the case, I will use random.org for the winner! I just love trivia so let’s see how you do!

Leave your comment and good luck!

  1. What is the name of Stamp Set that has been in the Catalog the longest?
  2. What is the most popular bundle from the Occasions Catalog?
  3. How many pages was the first Stampin’ Up Catalog?

This will be funny to see the answers. I called Stampin’ Up! to ask the questions and answers. Good luck and until later!
