I Scream for Ice Cream!

Good Tuesday to you! I have a cutie for you today! To me, this is a smile maker card and WOW…is it easy. When I was a scrapbooker, I used this layout a bunch as I love squares! I have some beauties of pictures for you today and I hope that this sweet card brings a smile to you!

Last month in my Classes to GO! I featured this stamp set/bundle and it turned out great. There is nothing more classic than a great scoop of ice cream but this sundae is a cinch to make. Let’s go!!!

If you have a 1″ square punch this makes this card even faster. If not, no biggie as we all can easily use our trimmer for making 1″ squares. On Tuesdays, I usually do Tips for Your Tuesday….but today I just had to share this with you but the great news….I will share with you the dimensions and TIPS to make this a fantastic layout for you to use over and over!

Layers, Layers….I love my layers (kind of like the scoops) – I ask you, how can you have just one scoop. When I went to Texas in the Fall….I have GREAT and oh so special memories of Millie, Alyece and I going to have an Ice Cream Cone together…that was a time that I will never let out of my heart!

Let’s chat about sprinkles – I admit, I adored all different colors of sprinkles on my Ice Cream ~ it was always the special finishing touch that made me smile when I was little! Today I used the Whisper White Craft Ink (that can be yours free this month with an order of $75+ with me) and then Chocolate Chip on the scoop of Vanilla!

Now isn’t this just plain FUN!!!! Just think of all of the colors you could use….next I will share with you the dimensions and tips to make this easy for you but now I ask you…..WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?

This will be soooooo much fun to see what we like – I admit right off the bat – I am really boring with Ice Cream – I like simple flavors ~ my all time favorite is Baskin-Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip in a cup with that little pink spoon….I say – HEAVEN! 😀

Here you go…please try this layout – I know that you have gobs of stamps that you could use in the middle but heck, if you do not have this bundle….maybe it is time for you to HIT THAT PAW PRINT and get it. It is a classic that you will use a bunch!

  • The card base is a 4 1/4″ square in thick whisper white
  • Cut another piece of white to 4″ X 4″ – THIS IS KEY as it is sooooooo easy to adhere the 1″ squares on this piece. If you do not have a 1″ square punch…I would get one – you will use it for years! I like to use the green glue to wiggle them in place.
  • Adhere this piece popped up with dimensions or fun foam
  • The white stitched square is the largest offered
  • The sundae was a cinch, made with cardstock and the base is the Tasty Treats DSP
  • I did make a custom envelope…(I just love doing this) but please know, with a 4 1/4″ square card you can still use one of our regular envelopes and it will not be additional postage.

I told you that it was easy….to me, this is a HAPPY CARD and one that the young, the teens, and the “in-betweens” would love as everyone loves Ice Cream!

Thanks for popping in and guess what tomorrow is…..it is a PALS blog hop…..hippity-hop~ let’s have fun getting inspired.

Step It Up Sunday….she’s back!!!!

I have been kind of quiet with the girls the past couple weeks so I thought that this would be a great addition to the card this weekend! Each and every time I see them, I crack up laughing as the expression on this one…says it all ~ I think it is the hair that does it!

I have to say, yesterday was fun. It is as simple as that.

We yacked so much…went to the ribbon store….went to lunch….back to my house…continued yacking and tried to attempt a make that Deb provided (she is soooo talented) but time was against us but have no fear – we have planned the trip to  Richmond next month where we will pick up right where we left off!

Needless to say that they did not do the card for today but I will say that I asked them their thoughts and Deb chimed in and said, I think that the balloon would show up better if it were white…and so that is what I did and I LOVE IT! She was soooooooo right, the white just made it POP!

So…here you go, side by side you decide!

I am happy that I was able to showcase this stamp set below as I thought that many of you would have missed it in the catalog ( I am going to try to use another stamp from this set this week) to show you the versatility of if. When I see circles…which to me equal dots and dots make me happy – it is already a winner in my eyes!

Here is a close up for you. I did the same as yesterday with the balloon using the soft sky and night of navy. I am AMAZED at how easy it is to put the color behind the cut out balloon. Whomever designed these framelits did a fantastic job! I will say the other thing that I did that was “easy street” was that I cut out the balloon and I already had the adhesive on the back because I used Stick It adhesive sheets and WOW – that makes like even easier!

Now lets chat about to Phyllis…she is lovin’ her balloon ride! I used the aqua painter to give her some color (so saffron) and then that hair of hers….a total mess and just as it seems to be on trend to have odd color hair….I just did it in soft sky and then “highlighted” it with some marina mist (This is about as close as I will ever come to becoming a hairdresser) 😀

I just put a glue dot under that MOP OF HAIR and one on her neck and she is safe and secure! I think for sure yesterday’s card is going to Uncle George but today’s card…it’s going North to brighten one of my readers day!

One more look at Phyllis in her glory as she sails up, up & away…I will say – my pick…TODAY’S card as Deb was right – the white balloon really made the fun background that I made with the whisper white craft ink fun!

Did you also notice that I change the was I used the sentiment. Today I made it into a banner as I notched off the ends but the addition of the So Saffron accents made Phyllis stand out (and we all know she likes to stand out) 😆  (I can’t wait to hear what Chris R has to say about Phyllis today)

Here is what you love, the measurements. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions! This is one that I am going to make up in a bunch of different colors and I think that I am going to keep the sentiment the same as you can easily stamp a “Happy Birthday”….”Thinking of You”…..etc…in the inside!

  • The card base is an vertical A-2 card, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ in Marina Mist
  • The White mat is 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″
  • The Navy Mat is 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″
  • The Marina Mist is 3 3/4″ X 5″ and stamp in whisper white ink using the Playful Backgrounds Stamp
  • The Banner is 3/4″ wide and then I matted it at 7/8″. I did stamp the sentiment and heat set it with white embossing powder.
  • The accents are from the Subtles Enamel Shapes.
  • The Balloon and sentiment are both from the amazing bundle, Lift Me Up!

Well, I did it…another 2 day post and I hope that I “Lifted you Up” This really is a great bundle and the color ideas are endless with being able to add color behind the detailed balloon.

Remember, this is the last month to grab a freebie from Sale-a-bration and also with an order of $75+ I will send you the whisper white craft ink! When I showed Jeanie the card yesterday she immediately said – where did that DSP come from….it is soooooo true, this stamp set really gives up an endless opportunity to make our our fun accented paper!

Enjoy the day and I hope that you are able to “lift someone up today” – random acts of kindness are ALWAYS the best!

Simple Saturday!

I admit, I have always want to go in a Hot Air Balloon…..has anyone ever done this? If so, please leave a comment and let us know if you liked it and if you would recommend it!

I have not had the opportunity to blog about this beauty, the Lift Me Up Bundle and I am glad that I can today! I admit, I never took the time to see how easy it is to add the color behind….so when in doubt about a product – go to the stampin’ Up You Tube Channel and check it out!

The details in this whole bundle are very impressive. Until I watched the video I did not realize that the one framelit was a mini cupcake and how great it pairs up with the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack.

You have to admit…it is a classic and oh so detailed bundle! You know me, I love bundles because I love to save the money…(you get an instant 10% off instantly and then I will get another 25% discount for doing the fun that I do)…..I am tellin’ you….you should think about becoming a hobby demonstrator – so easy!

With the great incentive of also get YOUR CHOICE of any 2 stamps sets in any of the catalogs, it truly is a no brainer! If you want to get the kit (your choice of whatever you want) and then be done – YOU CAN DO THAT….and there are no worries of penalties or any obligations.

Email me and I will be happy to help answer any questions you might have.

Now let’s get to the parade of pictures I have for you and then tomorrow you will need to stop back to see how I stepped it up and then you can see which one suits your fancy!

Do you remember on Wednesday I shared with you that my incentive gift this month is the Whisper White Craft Ink? Today I used the white ink to create my backdrop on the Marina Mist. Isn’t it fun!

Stampin' Up Lift Me Up! Bundle, Playful Backgrounds Photopolymer Stamp Set, Simple Saturday, Susan Itell - Stampin' Up!

This stamp set, Playful Background is one that I think you all might have breezed right by in the catalog! I remember that someone said in a comment last week that Polka Dots made them smile – well…this does the same thing for me! This is a fun and oh so easy background to create in a flash.

Tomorrow I will have for you the dimensions for this project but I really wanted to keep the balloon very classic in its colors. The base color is Marina Mist and I chose that because that is one color that I rarely use and I wanted to challenge myself to step of it my “color box” that I become so comfy with.

The colors in the balloon are Night of Navy and Soft Sky and the balloon itself id Sahara Sand. (I know sometimes it is hard to tell what colors they are in the photos) 😯

Well….thoughts….you can see that it is a good old Simple Susan card for your Simple Saturday. Paper does amazing things for us and layers also do amazing things.

I think that you can easily see the endless color combinations you could do with this layout and also this sentiment is super-de-duper because it can cover many things……I am sending this to my Uncle that is 88 and in the hospital to cheer him up!

Stampin' Up Lift Me Up! Bundle, Playful Backgrounds Photopolymer Stamp Set, Simple Saturday, Susan Itell - Stampin' Up!

I hope that you have a fantastic day and if you live on the East Coast you know that the weather has been CRAZY….Yesterday I saw some daffodils trying to bloom and then last night it was to get around 20….no wonder so many people have colds!

I am having a GREAT GIRLS DAY today….I am meeting some downline for lunch and then to the local ribbon factory……little do they know that I am taking today’s card with me and they are going to give me some inspiration on how they see it stepped up for tomorrow…(don’t worry, I already have plan B in case we get yacking and I forget to bring it up)

Jammie shop is so easy and trust me, it is on trend. The other day I forced myself to go to Walmart (a place that really stresses me out because it is sooooo busy and huge) but I saw people actually shopping in their jammies. Heck – if they can do it in public….just think of how stylish we are shopping with our computers in our laps in the comforts of our homes! 😀

Grab the Popcorn….

See you tomorrow….it is SIMPLE SATURDAY!

Fast…easy…fun!!!

I know that we all have times that we need a card in a jif but the time factor is not on our side ~ does this ring a bell to anyone or an I on that Island all by myself!

Well today I have a card in a jif for you! I am going to let the pictures tell the story but yep, I will give you the dimensions because I hope that you will like it enough to CASE it. 😛

This stamp, Stylized Birthday is a single wood mount stamp and you know how I feel about most of our single stamps….BUY THEM ( 🙂 ) as they are great. Look at this picture below that is from the catalog and I ask you….isn’t this a fantastic card. I just adore that font and I hope that you have more fonts like this in the future!

Let’s get going on this square card. Again, the pictures will be your guide…..please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions and also, please leave a comment and let me know how you like it!

I think the little POP of color jazzes it up a bit…what do you think? Here is another example on how USING UP THAT DSP that you have…..hmmmmm – I think I got your attention there!!!! 😯

Here you go with the quick dimensions….it is soooooo darn easy, you really do not need me but I know that you enjoy them!

  • The Card Base is  4 1/4″ square from thick white card stock
  • The DSP is from the Floral Boutique DSP collection and it is 4 1/4″
  • The lace doilie was adhered with dots of “green glue”
  • The Sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy and then cut out with the largest scalloped square in the layering square framelits.
  • The Watermelon Wonder is a 3 1/4″ square
  • The linen thread was anchored by glue dots
  • The envelope was made with the envelope punch board.

There you go…another dose of inspiration! This would be a card that you could easily adapt to make it into a regular A-2 card and not have to put extra postage on it…..but I say, go for the square!

There is just something special about getting an odd size card in the mail…..who knows maybe I am on the island again – I hope that if you have not made a square card, you will try it….I know that I am simple and I guess that I am also square!!!!

Enjoy the day and I will see you in the morning!!!!
