Hippity – hoppity…..it is Thursday and wow – wasn’t it a great blog hop yesterday!?!? If you have not had a chance to HOP…I highly suggest that you do so, lots of great ideas ~ here was my post. Today we have a sketch challenge to work with and I was feeling “sweet” with my interpretation of Beth Beards great sketch!
This is one of those “keepers” as I like to refer to it…and I would copy this sketch for future card! I took one look at this sketch and PRESTO – I knew exactly waht I wanted to do!

My main goal for this card was to use ribbon…why?????? Easy = whenever I hear Beth Beards name…I smile as she makes the most amazing bows that I have ever seen, they always seem perfect, soft and they just work! My ribbon today is PLAIN JANE….but I will say I love it!
I wanted to give you a tip on how I did it so it stays nice and flat. If you follow my blog, you already know that I enjoy using fun foam at times to lift up larger parts of a cards and today I cut a thin strip (about 1/2″ wide) and adhered it with fast fuse. It worked great, still soft like a ribbon but it has a statement. If you are not a fan of Fast Fuse (you should really give it a try), I would use tear and tape – you need a strong adhesive to make it lay flat! (hope that this makes sense)

Does this below stamp set just scream Christmas!?!?! I think that the font is just fabulous. I hope that we have more sentiments in the future in this font – it is fun and easy to read! The sky is the limit for this set. It will make super tags…and I already have another card that you will be seeing with the little shapes!

Another tip….as it is practically impossible for you to see but I “CUT THE SQUARE OUT” before I ran it through the Big Shot with the Sparkle Embossing Folder. In person, it looks super as it is all very flat and then the ribbon just lays nice and flat!
The sentiment was heat embossed with white, always gives a clean and crisp look and did you notice….I used my discontinued friends, the white marker. I just could not resist as I think it adds the perfect compliment to the whole card!

Here is your picture for the future! Save it – Pin It….just keep it for future reference! I hope that this “sweet card” can get you starting to think about the holidays! YIKES, yesterday it was over 90 and today we are to be in the 70’s….crazy!!!!
As I have said many times, I find it hard to get in the Holiday Card making mode when it is sooooooo hot….but then I know what happens – THAT CALENDAR!!!

I also confess…I had fun in the clearance rack…..(sometimes a stamper has to do what a stamper needs to do)….BUY GOODIES!!!! I know that many of you were on the same shopping spree that I was on and I thank you for your support!
I am super excited for today as I get to bring Stanley (Hannah’s horse) back to our house! He was leased out for the summer and now he deserves to come home and let me spoil him!!!! Oscar will be happy to have a friend and I can hardly wait to see the 2 of them turned out together tonight in the field (a beautiful and peaceful sight that makes my heart pitter -patter)
Until tomorrow!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for September 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month our projects represent our favorite year end Season. It may be Autumn, Winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas (and maybe even a combination!) We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

I love this topic for our hop today BUT….it was hard to pick what is my favorite! I decided to go with Fall as HANDS DOWN this is my favorite season of the year! I adore seeing the colors that nature gives us…I adore the crisp and cool nights….I adore apples and soft and chewy Ginger Cookies….and I love having “good hair days” with the absence of the East Coast humidity!
The stamp set I used is Basket of Wishes Photopolymer and I admit, I totally overlooked it in the catalog until a customer ordered it with her PAW PRINTS rewards and when I saw it – WOW….this is a great set! (you see – YOU ALL ENABLE me as well!) 🙂

The star of the show today is the Aqua Painter! I will be honest with you….I stamped this image (4) times on scraps pieces of Thick White Cardstock because I thought I might need “trial runs” – BUT…I did this on the 1st take!
The Aqua Painter is a super tool that “just does it”…and the best advice I can give you is….go for it! Look at the colors of ink that you have and just go to town! I have listed at the end the colors that I used and true it looks like a bunch but I just use a little here and a little there!

Here is a closer look…and you can see where the “sketchy” lines are…I use a darker color…I am not sure if that it what I am to do – but I do! This is the thing that I LOVE about card making….no rules – just have FUN!
The card is a 4 1/4″ square and then I added the Always Artichoke Polka Dots Paper from the Regals Stack….and it is funny – I never used this color in my water-coloring – a point that I want to make it just have fun and mix up colors to what you like! (I knew that if I used the Always Artichoke in the water-coloring, it would be too dark)

If you are new to my blog, welcome…..but one thing that my daily subscribers know…I love my envelopes! Today I made a fun color envelope with the In Color Envelope Paper and the Envelope Punch Board.
Here is a tip…the measurements for a 4 1/4″ Square Card are not on the punch board but here you go! I have a sticky note on the bottom of my Punch Board so I do not forget!
- A 7 1/4″ Square
- Punch, score and rotate at 3 5/8″
- PRESTO — a perfect envelope!

Here is a visual, 411 – Directory Assistance photo for you to PIN away for the future! I did use the sentiment of “Giving Thanks for the Blessing of You” in the inside of the card – to me the perfect finishing tough that will surely make someone smile!

by Susan Itell | Sep 12, 2016 | Super Easy, Thinking of you |

Hello all…here is a SUPER QUICK card to whip up and one that makes a fun statement! I adore this stamp set, Feather Together…so much that I used it for my monthly card kit in August! I wanted to share with you another way to USE UP THAT DSP….so…whatcha think?
I can honestly say that when the new catalog came out…I knew that this stamp set was going to make it to Randall Lane. The font and the sentiments are just over the top….remember what I said about a great sentiment set – go for it…as you can always use your fun paper to dress it up…dress it down or simply make it POP!

You can see how simple this is. Because it is a photopolymer stamp set, seeing for exact placement is a breeze….just ink it up and go!!! The feathers are a 2 step stamping and I used the same color for each one. The more detailed feather was stamped FULL STRENGTH and then the 2nd stamp was stamped in the same color but STAMPED OFF on a scratch paper! Easy!

The DSP was cut to the full front of the Very Vanilla Card base, and then adhered to the front!. I do not do this a bunch but I need to remind myself to do this as it really adds a fun POP to the card!
I lifted the entire stamped portion up…a must do….we live our stampin’ vitamins!

Ir would be a card of mine without a beautiul envelope….I just cannot let one go out the door. To me, it is the icing on the cake and a win/win….I smile and I am happy …and the person receiving it is happy as well! 🙂

Not much to put on your Directory Assistance picture….it is just that easy!

Pop back tomorrow as it is TUESDAY TIPS.…and I think that you are going to love what I am going to share! Remember, shopping in your jammies is on trend – have fun….and let’s all have a great week! Until tomorrow!!!!

by Susan Itell | Sep 11, 2016 | Step it up Sunday!, Uncategorized |

Happy…happy Sunday – WOW, it is a HOT weekend on the East Coast. Please remind me, when the calendar says September, doesn’t that mean cooler days and chilly nights? I have had 1 good “hair day” since Spring and I really count on low humidity to have just a couple of good “hair days”
Well my friends, here you go – the stepped up version from yesterday so it is up to you….SIDE by SIDE, you decide? I honestly had NO IDEA where I was going to go with yesterdays card (as I really liked it) but I will say, I LOVE this one!

I know that it is hard to use DSP in a Big and Bold way but I hope that this encouraged you to say, hmmmmm….I should try this! Why not say to yourself ~ try it, I might like it! The other thing that I did differently today was that I popped up both, the mat (DSP piece) as well as the sentiment!
On a side note, I took it to the Post Office to see….and yep – it goes with a regular stamp!

I told you yesterday that I was going to share with you how I made the “texture feel” of the leaves etc….and are you ready – it is SUPER HARD….but I know that you can do it and when you do it, please think of me! Just simply go to town and ball it up….flatten it out…..ball it up – do what ever your little heart desires…..just work the fibers and you are good to go!

Did you notice that today I took another “frame” from the Tags & Labels Framelits and twisted it to add some interest! When you feel like you need a “wee bit more”, try a simple trick like this. It just makes your eye focus on the sentiment.
Because I already had adhesive on the back, I thought – add some linen thread – this will ad som “home feel and softness” To me, a little added touch like this makes a card step up to a new level!

One more look before you get to the scoop of the dimensions. I think that this is a beautiful and special card. As I shared with you yesterday, I needed a card to send to someone and yep – I am sending her today’s card! Do you have a favorite?

I know that this is what you love, the dimensions on how to make the card! Here you go, Please feel free to email me if you need further help or have any questions! This layout can be used for so many sentiments that we have and the other bonus, it is a great way to USE UP THAT DSP that we all seem to have – I know, I know…..it is super pretty to look at but we bought it to use it – SO USE IT UP!!!!! 🙂
- Card Base is Very Vanilla 4 1/4 X 5 1/2
- The mat that you will “build on” is 4″ X 5 1/4″
- The DSP to the left is 3″ X 4″
- The DSP to the right is 2 1/4″ X 4″
- The strip of paper is just 1/4″ wide
There you go – that is the simple “FORMULA” for this card now go find a stamp set and CASE IT so you can see 1st hand how easy and rewarding this layout is!

Enjoy the day and please remember to subscribe to my blog so you do not miss a post that I do! I havn’t said this for a while so please, it is sooooo easy – click that subscribe and enter your email and POOF – Susan will be ready for you and your coffee!!!!
Guess what I am doing today? I am making all of those adorable easel cards for those that placed and order with me in August….they will go out tomorrow so for you “smart shoppers” – get ready to receive it this week!
Please do not forget that if you click at the top of the post (under the header) to Paw Print Reward, you will see the generous rewards program that I offer and also you will see the feature card that I will be making for September! I think that it is super cute!
Thanks for your time in popping in….I hope that it inspired you and I hope that you learned something….now go find some “me time” and CASE AWAY!
