A Perfect Birthday Gift!

IMG_2760

We all know that when it come to Birthday's most of us really do not need a thing…I would wager to say that many of you are like me…spending time with family and friends is the best gift one can give…but I also know that there are times that you want to give someone a little something…

Well how about this "little practical something" Not only will you get a "feel good" by making a gift from your hands and heart…but knowing that it is a practical and useful gift! We all can use some cute enclosure 3 X 3 cards and with lining the envelope, this makes it extra special!

Today is the last day for you to take advantage of the 25% off of 25 Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets and today I am showcasng another 2 sets for you!

25% Off 25 Stamps Sets

Don't forget when you order from me any of these stamp sets, you will have the opportunity to win a bundle of adhesives from me as my thanks to you! If Stampin Up! is celebrating and spoiling us…I am going to do the same to you!!!

IMG_2762

I adore making 3-D containers for goodies that I make and this super cute 3 X 3 box idea came from fellow PAL, Beth Beard! Please go and check out her blog and video on making these gems – super easy to whip up and it you do not want to decorate the side…just do the front panel!

The 2 Stamp Sets that I used today were Crazy, Mixed-Up Love …

and…Label Love! Both of these stamp sets are super cute and very easy to use with lots of different cards!

Do you remember that I have posted before that sometimes I think we forget that Stampin' Up! sells 12 X 12 card stock in many of the colors…Please go to the paper section in the catalog and you will see which colors they are available in!

IMG_2764

For this project I used the Whisper White Card Stock in the 12 X 12 paper and made cuts at 3" and from 1 sheet of paper, I can make 8 cards! Love it!

Wanting to keep this super simple, I decided that I was sticking with the color scheme of White, Yellow and Black! Can't go wrong with the basics! The Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper was the fun paper for today! Don't you just love polka dots…they make me smile…always!

When stamping in black, I do always use the Black StazOn Ink…always so clean and crisp but plese remember to clean your stamps properly, you will need to use a special StazOn Cleaner! You always want to keep your stamps clean and conditioned!

I simply did a quick and easy stamp on the front…added a couple of dots here and there and then pulling out the Big Shot and the envelope liner framelits…lining the 3 X 3 envelopes that Stampin' Up! sells…made this project a breeze!

IMG_2769

Can't you think of many people that you know would love this! You can make it seasonal for a teachers gift…give someone Holiday Cards….the sky is the limit! I have fit 12 cards and 12 lined envelopes (2) of each 6 different designs (you could probably easily fit 15 in it!)

Using the Large Oval Punch and then the Basic Black Chevron Ribbon...the gift was finished!

IMG_2771
Now isn't this super simple and cute! You use minimal product, one color of ink and paper, the same liner for all 12 cards…and the best thing it is soooo practical and your friends and family will love it!

Please leave me a comment and let me know how you like this simpl and clean gift! If you would rather email me, simply click here!

Top Note Box for Fall

IMG_2648

Remember how I have been showing you how to save your paper and making "cuts" with paper that it going to be matted and not shown? Well today's post is "left overs" that are from when I made the "thank you's" for my friends… several posts ago…click here to see it! Because I made so many of these card – I was able to cut a top note from each of the Soft Suede paper!

This
is a super fun and easy box that is not only functional…it will put a huge
smile on someone’s face! You could put many things in these gems…candy, a gift
card, a deck of cards, a note…just use your imagination!

IMG_2649

To
make the box part…you can get (2) from one sheet of paper!

  • Cut your paper at 8” X 5 ½ “
  • Score on the 8” side at 1”, 3 ½”, 4 1/2” and 7”
  • Score on the 5 ½” side at 1” on both ends
  • Fold in…( I like to use the bone folder for crisp edges) and cut in to the 1" line as shown!

IMG_2636

  • This next step is easy…you will cut completely off 1 piece…look at the picture below!

IMG_2637

  • I recommend that you use Sticky Strip! I say this as I feel it is the best choice of adhesive for 3-D projects! You will only be placing sticky strip on that short side (see picture below) This is a good picture that will show you the "cut off" piece and how you build the "sides" to your box!

IMG_2640

  • How are you doing? Hang in there – this is really easy and you will be making these a bunch! After you adhere the box together I took the 1" circle punch and did a quick snip! I think it makes it easier to open the box!

IMG_2641

  • Now to attaching the attaching of the Top Notes! I do put sticky strip on the top and bottom of the box but I start with the bottom. Peel off the red tape and position the "box" on top!

IMG_2643

  • Last step…I suggest that you lean over and it is super easy to get the "top" – "top note" centered over the box! BAM you did it!!! I say Woot-Woot to you!

IMG_2644

Now lets get to the fun part since we have mastered the mechanics of
the box making!

I cut another Top Note from Very Vanilla and then I cut if a bit
smaller simply using the perforated lines as my guide! SOOOOO easy!

Using the Tangerine Tango ink…I inked up the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp and
then “stamped it off” on a piece of computer paper before stamping on the top
note…I wanted a fainter stamp!

Using one of my favorite Fall stamps, out came the Magnificent Maple
Stamp
and I inked it up with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive ( a
perfect trio of fall colors)

Lastly with the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement I
stamped the sentiment that came from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set!

IMG_2646

Is this just soooo cute! What did I put inside….yummers! I put nuggets but I did something fun and super easy! Using address labels I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp and then stamped the sentiment of "thanks"! Isn't this just the cutest!

The label fits perfectly and you do not have to worry about an adhesive! Woot-Woot!

IMG_2652
Just think of the endless ideas you could do with this concept..a simple change of paper color and stamps…presto – you have a great gift! Please share with me if you make any of these! I just love them and they are always a hit!

We have been sooooo lucky to have wonderful friends make us yummy meals while John has been laid up…and I have been sending these out with a thank you note! They love them!

IMG_2654

Please let me know what you think about these! They are super easy to make and if you need any help, please feel free to email me!

There have been sooooo many things going on with Stampin' Up! over the past weeks, I find it hard to take it all in! Tomorrow is the last day for you to take advantage of the $25.00 starter kit!

Let's talk…I would love for you be having fun with me!

Until tomorrow!

Calling all Chocolate lovers…so cute!!!

IMG_2285

I hope that today's post gets you so excited that you run the store and
buy some yummy Ghirardelli Chocolates and make this adorable and super
easy project!

I am both thrilled and honored to be my wonderful upline, Mary Fish's guest stamper! Mary is simply the best leader to all of her "PALS" and she certainly has paved the way for each of us and the entire Stampin' Up! community…

This is not only a super easy 3-D box to make…it is just too darn cute! Just think of the different occasions this could be used for…naturally the holidays are a given…but these would make adorable name cards…great favors for baby and bridal showers…

The inspiration was brought to my attention on the PALS Gallery from PAL Elisha Smith! There is a tutorial way back in 2009 on Splitcoaststampers but I am going to give you the easy "low down" on how to make these in a jif!

Ready…let's go and you are going to be soooooo surprised with how quick and easy these are to make! From a sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 card stock, you can make 2 of the boxes!

IMG_2287

  • Your base size is 4 1/4" X 8"
  • Score the short side at 1" and at 3 1/4" TIP ALERT– if you are using the stampin' trimmer and I hope you are as it is the best trimmer in the whole world…don't forget to use the 1" mark to the right – I personally like doing smaller cuts to the right….
  • Score the long side at 2", 3", 5" and 6" – you see….the stampin' trimmer is the way to go with this project!
  • Now….don't panic…just take a deep breathe and get your paper snips out and look at the below picture and go to town!

IMG_1940

IMG_1938

  • Take you bone folder and give all the score lines a really good crease! I think that this is key whenever you make 3-D projects…it makes it look so professional!
  • For the next step, I totally recommend that you use sticky strip adhesive…why? – easy as it is soooo strong and when you make especially 3D projects, it is the best to use! See below on the pictures where to place your sticky strip!

IMG_1945

  • Now don't panic…FLIP the piece over and put your sticky strip where shown in picture!
  • Before you start adhering the sticky strip….take the front part and trim 1/2" off as this will tuck behind your decorative piece…(hang tight – it will make sense!)

IMG_1946
It's coming together…hang in there – it really is easy – just like the Post it Notes Posting I did….once you get it …YOU GET IT!!!

TIP ALERT: I find that when you work with the sticky strip…the red piece is always so "clingy" and sticks to your hands….I always use the end of the paper piercing tool to get it going as truth is "I don't want to break a nail"… but I have found if I have a piece of a damp paper towel…it sticks right to that and you will not get frustrated!!!

IMG_1947

  • Next just simply fold the last part and press… you're done! Now to the super quick and fun part of decorating! The sky is the limit – let your creativity go wild and JUST HAVE FUN!!!

Please remember when you are working on ANY project, there are NO rules and the are NO RIGHT OR WRONG WAYS…the way that YOU do it is YOUR choice and it is going to be a work of love from YOU!

I am merely showing you ideas to get your "mojo going" and at the same time I am an email away to help you with your projects! I love what I do and I love helping you!

Let get decorating!

Best Of Birthdays Clear-Mount Stamp Set

  • The biggest key tip  can give to you is to place the stampin dimensionals very low to your embellishment so the flap can tuck in! (I know it seems weird not to place them in the middle…trust me  – this will be your anchor!

IMG_1950

  • Look at this picture and you will see why it is works in place the dimensionals low! ( Can you see how I recycle paper…I made a mistake – flipped it over and presto – works like a charm!)

IMG_1953

This is a super fun project to have some super fun with! Below is a parade of the variety that you can do…but…the ideas are endless! Please email me and let me know how you are going to use these sweet goodies!

3″ X 3″ Post it notes from a little help from my friends!!!

IMG_2207
O.k. folks…the weekend must have been super busy with you dedicated stampers trying to make the Post It Notes Blog Posting that I showed last Sunday….please click here to see the original post! They are super cute and super fun to give as they are practical and super easy to make!

The question I received over the weekend by 6 different followers…was – "Did I buy the wrong size…because it's not working?" Well, this post did use the mini ones and everyone was purchasing the 3" X 3" size and asked if I had the dimensions to make it!

Well…I got a little help from my friends!!!

This is what I absolutely adore about Stampin' Up! and blogging…being able to meet so many cyber friends and customers…it's hard to describe but it is a special and fun connection and most of the time we have never met!!!

My help came from Lynn and Jeanie! These are both 2 incredible ladies that have not only a love and passion for creating works of art from their heart but they both are both beautiful ladies that have hearts larger than life!

Lynn reached out to me months ago for some help when she was getting together with some family members and I was thrilled to help her! Through our emails back and forth we have many similarities and it is so fun and uplifting to receive an email from her!

Yesterday when I popped on the computer….Lynn was a life saver as she took the time to figure out the measurements for the 3 X 3 Post it notes….and the beautiful part of it was…she said, –

"I hope this saves you some time figuring it out so you can spend

more time with your family – Furry loved ones included!"

Is that the sweetest or what! Thank you Lynn and I do hope that one day we could meet in person! It's fun working together on projects!

Jeanie has been a friend and fellow crafted for years and I adore her! We have shared many laughs over the years and her talent is endless! (she also has the most incredible craft area one could ever imagine!!!) Jeanie is full of life and is a teacher to little ones…a PERFECT job for her! You know when Jeanie is in the house and her laugh is her trademark and from that laugh is the most beautiful smile you'll see!

After the details on the post, I will share with you some incredible samples of these great ladies works that they shared with me – many thanks to both of you! Huge stampin' hugs!

Please make sure that you refer back to the original post to see how to put this together and let you mind go wild…the sky's the limit!!! Here are the dimensions!

  • Cut a piece of paper to 3 1/2" X 12"
  • Score at 4", 4 1/2", 6 1/2" and 8 1/2"
  • The DSP and/or mat paper is 3 1/4" X 3"

Best of Autumn Clear-mount Stamp Set

  • The colors I used for the water-coloring are: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Old Olive. I also used 2 Regal Candy Dots for fun!
  •  The other one I did as a sample for you today is using the fun and whimsical Stamp Set, Giggle Greetings…it is funny or what! I did use watercolor paper as I am passionate about using this paper when you use the Aqua Painters!

Giggle Greetings

  • The colors I used to do the water-coloring with the Aqua Painters are: Baked Brown Sugar, Sahara Sand, Rose Red and Primrose Petals.

IMG_2212

These are super great quick goodies to whip up! Here are a couple of different angles so you can get a great idea how they look when they are closed!

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions! I hope that you have enjoyed seeing the 3 X 3 version!

“Crazy Mixed up Love” is a fun love!

IMG_2167
I haven't made a card for John the past couple of days so this will be by his bed when he wakes up! He is 6 ' 5" and being in a "twin" bed…yet a hospital bed is not the most comfortable! (at least they put an extension on the end)

We laugh and say we feel like the Walton's saying goodnight….he says goodnight Eddie ( a dog)….goodnight Murphy (a dog),goodnight Jack (another dog) and then when he gets to me as I feel like a princess in our big bed and I respond…goodnight "John boy"!!!

We are finding lots of time to laugh and I do hope that continues on! Many, many thanks for all of the well wishes, inspirations and simple gestures you have been sending my way!

Now to the card….this card I knew the minute I saw it….I was going to CASE it! The idea was shown to me by my dear friend and huge helper to my blog, Patsy Wagonner. Please click here if you would like to watch her incredible video on this "Shadow Box Technique"

Patsy is one special person and I adore her calmness, ability to teach and I just marvel her work! I actually like hers a lot better than this card that I did (mine is too much of one color) but I knew that it would be perfect to give to my hubby!!! Please try this as it is super fun, kinda different and the best part…no extra postage!!!

Let's get going:

  • The card is a regular A2 card size and the Real Red is5 3/8" X 4 1/8" and then the white is 5" X 3 3/4".
  • TIP ALERT: with the red piece…I used the Ticker Duo Punch to use for the tags (actually I punched 4 sets of them for future use….great way to save paper as it will be covered up!
  • The Polka Dot Parade paper is cut at a 4" square…folded in half….folded in half! Next is super easy, just look at the pictures for a guide and you will be good to go – if not….email me and I'll be happy to help you! Read the text on the pictures for a guide….HAVE FUN!!!! A bone folder is needed – I think it is very important to have crisp and clean edges!

IMG_2162

IMG_2163
IMG_2164
IMG_2165
See how easy that was….and better yet – how FUN it is! You can flip flop to whichever side you like better…polka dots just make me smile!

  • I simply took a 2 5/8" square piece of white and stamped my image that was from the Crazy Mixed Up Love Stamp Set and masked off the sentiment and BAM – done!

Crazy, Mixed-Up Love

IMG_2169
Next, I wanted to share with you by showing you a side view of this card and how I incorporated a tag with the card – do you remember how I masked off the sentiment? Well this time, after I cleaned off the stamp and then used I just used the real red marker and stamped the sentiment on a scrap of paper and then punched it out with the Word Window Punch and then adhered it to the tag! Adding a bit of bakers twine gave it a cute and fun flair!

IMG_2171

Envelope time….well this was easy-peasy as I was already using an envelope that Stampin up made…all I needed to do was whip out the Envelope Liner Framelits and my man, My. Big Shot and bingo-bango….done!

IMG_2172
Now to the best part…look how this super sweet card fits perfectly into an envelope and because you always used your bone folder like I asked you to….it will POP right up when you pull the card out! Now I ask you….IS THIS CUTE OR WHAT!

I hope that this posts puts a smile on your face and I know that when John sees it – he will be touched and have a smile! "We DO blend well" and he is the BEST Dad, husband, brother, son and friend in the whole wide world!

IMG_2173

I thank you for taking your precious time in checking out my blog and I know that there are sooo many incredible Stampin' Up! Demonstrators out there…and I am soooo happy that you popped by today!

Go have a great day and know that I am an email away and I would love and be honored for you to join my Stampin' Up! Train and have a fun and inspirational ride!

Until tomorrow!

“Halloween Hello” Post It Notes!

IMG_2063
Now are these little gems cute or what!!! I know that I have not shown you a Halloween post for a while and I simply was sooo excited to share this fun and SUPER easy post…..oh – "post it" post today! ha-ha!

The best thing is…they come together super fast…they are super cute, and they are super practical as we all know how many times we use "post it's"!!!

These would be a great little gift for your office workers, your children, your hairdresser…I cannot think of anyone (unless you are a toddler that would rather have candy) that would not love these!

Another "keeper" about these practical gems is that from 1 sheet of card stock you can make 4 of them! I say WOOT-WOOT to that and trust me…when you make them up….make up a bunch! I bought a 12 pack of post-it notes and whipped 12 up in no time!

Now if you do not like the halloween theme…no worries – you can use any stamp theme….I did this as a "hands on" project for a day of papmering for Breast Cancer Survivors and we did them with flowers…these ladies had a ball making them and were soooo darn tootin' proud of the end result!

IMG_2065
Let's get started on the "how to's"! There are a couple of key products that you need and PRESTO, they will come togeter fast! I have a TON of pictures ( sorry for so many) but I figured that it makes it easier for you to CASE away and PLEASE…..send me a picture of your creations  – I truly love to see your work and get feed back from you!

These 3 items you need for sure!

  • your Stampin Trimmer, (this is a 2 for 1) as you will cut your paper and then also score with it…
  • you need sticky strip (I truly believe when you are making 3D projects…use this adhesive as it really gives the stongest hold…
  • you need the Tombo Multipurpose Liquid Glue (remember…a LITTLE goes a long way so be careful when using this…the "type A" in me hates to see this ooze out!

Hang on…let's have fun!

  • The base strip is 2 1/4" X 8 1/2" and then score at 2 5/8", 3 1/8", 4 5/8", 6"

IMG_2056

  • Fold and score the lines…scores 1,2,3 get folded in and scored…the 4th score line gets folded and scored in the opposite direction….(you can do it – I know I was challenged at 1st !!!)

IMG_2057

  • Sticky strip time…peel off the "post it" bottom sheet and put 3 strips of sticky strip on the bottom and then adhere this to the base…it will be towards the bottom!

IMG_2058

  • Mono glue time!!! EASY DOES IT….no big blobs!!! This is the BARGAIN adhesive that we have…$3.95 and it is super strong…get it right the 1st time of placement because it is not forgiving!!!

IMG_2059

  • Presto…here is the side view!

IMG_2060

Halloween Hello Clear-mount Stamp Set

  • Remember when I said that you can get 4 cuts out of a piece of paper…what you are left with is a 2" strip! Perfect…to decorate you need a 2" square! I like to decorate with a contrasting color…but what I did was make them in both black and pumpkin pie so I alternated and also used the Witches Brew Designer Series Paper.

Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper

IMG_2061

  • Here is a parade of pictures of the samples….enjoy!

Wasn't this fun! The other key punch I used was the Bracket Label Punch! This makes it!!! A simple stitching around the punched piece adds the bling needed…..I also used Stampin Dimensionals to give it a pop and lift!

Bracket Label Punch

Please CASE this and have fun!

Another thing that you can do is….share my blog with your family and friends. I love blogging and I also love inspiring you! Spreading the word of my blog is the best form of a compliment to me! As the saying goes…

"Word of mouth is the best advertisement one can have"

Please let me know what you thought of today's goodie! I am an email away and even though I have been not the best in responding to your great comments – I am trying to get to you one by one! My hands have been full with my dear hubby!

You can click here to order directly from my blog…..have a fabulous day and I am sure that many of you will be going to the office store to get your "post it's"!!!

I realize that there are many choices and options…I want you to know
that I appreciate you following my blog and telling your friends! It is
not only an honor…but it s joy to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

Until tomorrow!
