Step it up Sunday…BOO!

IMG_1401

This is such a fun stamp…how can you not smile with this great stamp…but the sentiment – THE BEST! Think about how affordable the card is…there is really nothing to it and the Woot-Woot's you will receive will definitely make you a Happy Stamper!

Today is a "Stepped up version" from yesterdays card! Please click here to see yesterdays card and and then in the picture below you can see them side by side.

(click on the image to make it larger)

IMG_1409

There are 3 main changes….simple ones but ones that do make a difference and when you hold them side by side in your hands….it really is a toss up. I asked John and James….and they both liked todays card because of the Polka Dots Embossing Folder. (CHANGE #1)

IMG_1402

The other change is that I added a peak of black paper behind and you can see in the below photo that I took full advantage of the new "Boo!" framelit that will be available on Tuesday! You betcha that I will but these to good use….the font is ADORABLE! (CHANGE #2)

IMG_1387

Here below, you can see the polka dot folder! This is my absolute favorite folder as I call it the "Happy Folder" because it goes with soooo many different themes and it is classic!

IMG_1403

The other thing I changed/added was I took the Soft Suede Marker and using the brush tip end ~ I did some swift and a light touched motions down across the broom and then also colored the handle in! (Nancy, you were sooooo smart – great comment yesterday) (CHANGE #3)

It is hard to see but that is the look that you want…if it is too heavy and dark – you will loose the effect! I also used the Tangelo Twist to color in the bows on the brooms. Remember, less is best!

  IMG_1405

The envelope is the same fun as yesterday – no need to change it up when it is sooo darn cute with this Super fun polka dot paper from the Happy Hauntings Paper – adorable!

IMG_1406

Well there you go! Another fun 2 day challenge but remember even though the changes are not drastic, I hope that I am showing you that you can add…take away….do a different technique…..to make a clean and simple card a bit different but still be clean and simple!

I do hope that you try this fun cut around a stamp ~ it is super easy and it can't be any easier – just keep those scissors moving and do not over think it – works like a charm each and every time!

I can tell that many of you are getting excited for the new catalog….it really is a fun and special one…I am super thrilled that Stampin' Up! continues to offer more and more bundles….as with the bundles you will save an instant 15%!

I hope that this stamp is on your wish list – fun, fresh, great font and the price is right!

Please remember that I am offering a product share for the new product and it is not too late for you to take advantage of the fun. Please click here to see the offerings as I will be ordering 1st thing Tuesday….(probably like many of you!!!!)…video below….enjoy! Please put in the subject line PRODUCT SHARE….thanks!

Simple Saturday….BOO!

IMG_1393

Happy Weekend and do I have a fun and simple card for you!!! When I saw the new catalog, I knew that this was coming to Randall Lane! I just LOVE those single stamps…so affordable and this one is over the top FUN!

I realize that there is a very "short window" for Halloween and this Tuesday when the new catalog is available to order from….ORDER THIS!I have to admit, when I was stamping this image I did love the "feel" of a wooden block ~ maybe we need to have another blog post about how we are feeling about the choices of wood, clear and photopolymer!

You can clearly see that this makes a super cute card…but this would also be great using a "single broom" along with another Halloween stamp or even with a house warming card with a gift card from Lowes or Home Depot…that would be a fun idea!

Screen Shot 2015-08-28 at 1.28.44 PM

So simple….you do not need me (well, I hope that you feel that you need me) – but really ~ this is an A-2 Vertical Card in Very Vanilla….I chose this neutral as it works perfectly with the A M A Z I N G Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper….There is not one print in this pack that I do not go nuts over – just fabulous!

You can see that I stamped the fun image on a piece of scraps and then did a random cut….LOVE doing this – it is a trick that I used to do when I scrap-booked as I could not cut a straight line….so random worked! Matting it on Tangelo Twist was easy-peasy!

IMG_1395

The layer is 1/4" smaller, 4" X 5 1/4" and then I used the Simply Scored and scored 2 lines on each side….SUPER EASY….SUPER EFFECTIVE! The stampin' dimensionals were a huge impact to add fun and interest to the tone on tone of the very vanilla.

Below…just "gander" at this A M A Z I N G collection of paper….this is another MUST HAVE on Tuesday!

Stampin-Up-Happy-Haunting-Designer-Series-Paper

You have heard me say this time and time again….do not stress about making the "free~hand" cutting ….just do it and do not think about being perfect – trust me – it ALWAYS works out….just keep going until you get to your starting point!

Do you agree…the double scoring really makes this card? So fast, so simple, so easy, so cute!

IMG_1396

Remember, creating a card does not need to be stressful – it needs to be FUN and it needs to be fulfilling. This is such a basic card that carries a big punch!

IMG_1392

The finale – the beloved envelope! IS this so stinkin' cute – and look how fun! Please email me if you do not smile when you see polka dots….it's like an instant party!

The stripe of Tangelo Twist is 1/4" and then the 2" DSP adhered with the "Green Glue" is the recipe! (This way I can get 12 envelopes from a sheet of DSP)

IMG_1397

Well…..thoughts my friends????Please leave me a comment and let me know how you like today's card! This is a "Susan Card" – holding true to my style of paper crafting but please make sure that you pop back tomorrow to see the stepped up version!

Thanks for all of the super sweet comments for Aunt Jean – guess what that dear James did…..he sent her an Edible Arrangement (fruit) and WOW – she was soooo touched – I told you he is a keeper! Guess what? She is leaving with a friend on Monday to go to Canada for 10 days….I think that is just GREAT to be 88 and still have so much life ahead!

Enjoy the day, email me if you need me…..feel free to shop away on my online store….(I am like Walmart – open 24 hours a day!!!!)

Until tomorrow! BOO!!!!

BOO….

IMG_1112

Good Thursday….does anyone else think that this week is flying by….wowzers – I think I lost some days somewhere! Today is the day of the week that the Pals Paper Art reveals a new challenge for us to play with! Below you will see the challenge and it is a great one to have fun with!

I had some fun with this sketch, I decided to flip it around and also use some sneak peak products from the new upcoming catalog. The Halloween Paper is soooooo much fun – there are fabulous prints that I am super excited to have fun with it.

LFB2_jKFaZhPE5o4RecFGZclQfX_eXTxEgWFLBd-lMyyJCqIwfvdsN-wyyoZQ3s9gTovVQ=w2560-h1222

What are your thoughts, do you like Halloween Cards? I know that there are many that do not care/believe in Halloween…but it sure has become a super popular holiday! I have fond memories of Trick-n-Treating and I love trying to go to Mrs.McGraws house twice to get another popcorn ball…it never worked – she was too sharp and I thought she was to old to notice me!

Let's get to the fun and simple card. I am so happy that Stampin' Up! has made several SP collections that coordinate with Very Vanilla. This spider paper is a sneak peak from Happy Hauntings DSP…..just adorable, don't you love those little dangling spiders?

Today is a good old A-2 card that is very straight forward…just a layering pf paper. I adore paper as I think that you can really make a HUGE impact with paper and still be able to be super frugal….see the below picture!

IMG_1079

I really wanted the fun paper to have "center stage" today but then I just could not resist using this sentiment "spooky" – another sneak peak and you know that I ADORE simple sentiments like this so I am doing the HAPPY DANCE that we are getting many new ones – this is from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies (4 sentiments)

IMG_1118

Did you notice the little trick that I have shared with you before? I like to use the Vanilla Coaster Board to have sentiments like this to be adhered to. The "green glue" works great with it and these new sentiments are very narrow and I have plenty of small scraps to use up = win-win for me!

IMG_1125

Time to talk about the spiders on the vellum….I was trying to keep things fresh and different for you so I pulled out some scraps and stamped these little guys on the vellum – they are from "A Little Something Stamp Set"…a fun set that covers several seasons!

It was rather easy to adhere the vellum to the stripes of card stock. I just take a dab of the green glue in the spiders body….let it set aside to "set up" and adhere it. Fun trick to do.

IMG_1114

Envelope time!!!! One of my favorite things about making cards…my beloved envelopes – if it doesn't make the mailman or the recipient smile, I know it makes me smile! I did a double whammie today – I say, WHY NOT? If your stamps are already inky…put them to use!

IMG_1121

Because I love paper so much, I must admit I also like to share it in unique ways. Below you can see a strip of card stock, (1/4") and then the DSP underneath! This is a super fun way to dress up an envelope…..LOVE IT!

IMG_1115

I hope that this simple and clean "spooky" card brought a smile to your face and then hop on over to the Pals Paper Art Site and see what the other designers came up with – so much fun to see how everyone interprets a sketch!

Make sure that you check out the weekly deals this week – KEEPERS! My pick ….hmmmm ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD for sure…that is a must have – but also, the bow punch is super fun and useful and then bakers twine….you can never go wrong with this….

Email me if you have any questions and please let me know if you are a customer of mine and you have not received the new catalog yet (please email me) and if you are not working with a SUD, I would love to work with you!

Enjoy your day and do something fun!

Step it up Sunday!

IMG_9550

I loved yesterday's card and I love today's card…you can't go wrong with either one – it all comes down to time (darn that word – time is the one thing that always seems to get the best of us)!

Here you go with the cards side by side so you can see the difference. It is not a huge difference but when you see it in person you say – "WOW…..that is so darn cute"!

When I showed John the cards and I always ask him which one is for Saturday and which one is for Sunday? (smart husband, he does get that right )…I told him that this is a football card. He looked at me with the funniest face…I said, I can cut out a bunch of soup bowls while we watch a game….( I love to multi-task)

Please click on the below collage image to make it larger….

PicMonkey Collage SOup

It really is not hard, it is just one more (or I should say – 2 more steps)….the dsp for the "soup bowl" and then the little vanilla piece that you snip out and then use "green glue" to adhere it on top!

IMG_9552

From 1 sheet of DSP you can easily have "4 bowls" of soup – I hope your hungry! I just love these paper stacks as they are 6" X 6"….and because you get (4) sheets of each print, you can line the envelopes as well!

138442G

This paper stack is FILLED TO THE BRIM with fun prints, Stampin' Up! really out did themselves on this one and guess what, it is on the weekly deals – a total win-win! Remember that tomorrow night will be the last time for you to take advantage of the current weekly deals!

IMG_9548

The "shine and fun" of heat embossing gives you an instant WOW – you never, ever get tired of doing this method and it is always so rewarding. Remember. keep the heat tool moving so you do not scorch your paper!

The reason I did not emboss the heart is that I wanted to POP up a heart and the itty bitty heart punch did not cover the one on this stamp so I did the next best thing – eliminated it and it works out great!

IMG_9545 (1)

Well….thoughts my friends? Do you have a favorite? This would be a great way for you to use up printed DSP that you are not using….discontinued etc…..I think it lends itself to a wide variety of options!

It is funny…I used exactly the same products today that I did yesterday! It just goes to show you how making some alterations can make a difference. Again, you cannot go wrong either way! You can see the products I used int he "scrolling store" below….shopping in your jammies is FUN!

Many thanks for your kind words of our dear friends passing. It is just about 11 years since we have bought our farm and I always said that I think when we bought our property, it came with "Art". Art had horses here at our house with the previous owners.

When we bought our house Art simply became a member of our family. His wife had just passed away and we adopted him and he adopted us. He spend holidays with us, he went to each and every game that the kids played, taught the kids how to parallel park and Art went with Hannah and I from Florida to Vermont and in between with the horses.

Here is a picture of Hannah and Art, just about a year ago right when he found out he had cancer. Art adored Hannah and they had shared so many times together….she is a great young lady and is doing very well as it hurt her to see him "not himself". He used to love to pick her up from school…with snacks ready… and go to the barn together for a lesson…he was so special to our family.

IMG_2294

Yesterday we just stayed at the house and had fun…something that Art would have wanted to see and be a part of….Eddie jumped in the pool to get his ball….Hannah worked down in the barn, John and James fixed fences and did odds and ends and I was a good girl!

Art was always the "foreman" telling each of us how we should be doing this and that….we were so used to it as he was a true "old timer" with old fashion remedies and advice!

We have wild red raspberries and I would always ask Art to come with me to pick berries as I am scared to death of "critters"….he would take a 4 wheeler and again, be the "foreman" telling me to reach deeper…..now go to the right…..to end up having poison ivy from head to toe (me only as he sat and told me where to pick)….but we always laughed!

We had one of Art's favorite dinners, hard shelled crabs, mussels, fresh corn and tomatoes and we talked and talked about happy and wonderful memories. He was a special person to us and we were blessed to have him in our lives.

Please make some memories today, we all have so much to be thankful for….tomorrow I have a super quick and fun 3D that will make you smile!

BOO and Blog Candy Time!!!

Happy Halloween…now tell me, what would Halloween be

without some "Blog Candy"

for my dear and wonderful cyber friends!

Images

I am excited about this card as it is something that I have been "itchin" to do….have you ever seen a card that someone made and you could not get it out of your mind? Well…this is what has inspired me today!

You have heard me talk about the fabluous PALS all the time and PAL Linda Callahan made the below card and I just adored it (actually I adore Linda's work…one talented lady!) and I could not let the Halloween season go past without giving it a stamp!

IMG_0009

Well here is my take on it and I just adore this super fun stamp set – appropriately called Tee-Hee-Hee!

IMG_4047

Another quick and easy card that carries a big punch! I just let the boldness of the paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Pack be my backdrop for the fun! I just love these packs of paper….so handy….so affordable!

IMG_4053

Because you can see right thru these stamps….perfect placemet is a cinch everytime! I took Linda's lead and used the in colors of Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist!

IMG_4056

Do you see the Hello Honey accents on the sides of the stamping? This is a quick and easy trick to do….just a simple 1/4" strip of paper added an extra pop of color and gave balance!

IMG_4057

Lastly, a quick liner to the back flap of the envelope finished this festive card! I adore mixing it up with liners to the outside and also to the inside using the envelope framelit! Mixing it up keeps things fresh and fun!

IMG_4049
