“hello”…in a simple and classic way!

IMG_7713

Good morning and you know what today it….it's a super special day for (2) reasons:

  1. Today is the day of the Week that Stampin' Up! offers us a weekly deal for a group of products at a 25% discount  – HANDS DOWN – my pick of the week is the 2" circle punch but the hand-held punches are right behind – perfect timing for today's card as I used the hand-held punch for the dot if paper in the flower!
  2. We (SUD's) get to pre-order a select group of NEW Products!

Here is comes….a WOOT-WOOT – Very exciting time but lets get to this super cute card – it's a keeper and a great layout to have fun with DSP!

The (2) stamps set that I used are both classics..why – easy-peasy as there are simple , clean and so versatile! It is Perfect Pennant and from the Occasions catalog, Petal Potpourri. You can click on the images in the "scrolling store" to preview them and I am sure you will agree…they are keepers!

IMG_7715

The card is a 4 1/4" square card and the recipe is so simple! Layering is the name of the game (I am sure that you cold save paper and piece it together) but sometimes, time talks!

The very vanilla is 4" and then then DSP is 3 1/2" X 4". The sentiment does has a framelit to match, the banners,  but I was lazy and just did a quick snip!

IMG_7717

Because the flower stamp comes as a bundle – (Woot-woot) – this is a 1-2-3 focal point….stamp – punch – adhere!

I added some dimensionals behind and used the Bermuda bay bakers twine to make some whimical loops to add some interest! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

IMG_7714

OOPS….I forgot to add the DSP I used and when I went to add it – the scrolling store came up twice! (sorry) – but you can see that the "Flashback DSP" is a great collection! I adore how it blends well with the very vanilla and I am super happy that we will see more papers like this!

If you want to take a test drive with Stampin' Up! and have fun plus save please email me and I can talk to you about how you can build your own kit with the NEW products in the pre-order….yep – the new goodies…I personally cannot wait to get my hands on the new In colors ink and papers! WOOT-WOOT!

You can pick $125.00 worth of ANY products…pay just $99.00 (plus free shipping) and guess what – you'll be super happy! WOOT-WOOT for the weekly deals (these can be added to your kit) and then get ready for inspiration to the max with being a Pal!

Here is to a FUN day! Until tomorrow – it's a PALS Blog Hop!

Step it up Sunday!

IMG_7688

Well….here it is – a quick stepped up version! There isn't much difference or time element to put into it but I hope that you can see that making these simple changes will do the job!

I loved everyones comments yesterday and I responded to many of them while watching the Kentucky Derby! I am sorry that some of you had some "hiccups" in viewing my blog yesterday – it was a Typepad issue and I am always at the mercy of the "cyber gods" to make things right!

Please click this image below so you can see the cards better and also read the text!

PicMonkey Collage

Let's get to it and I will explain the changes I made for today's card….a huge WOOT-WOOT to "mamajulie" who left me a comment and she was exactly right – I used the 3/4" circle punch NOT the 1/2" punch – great catch and THANKS (I am so glad that you made this card yourself, I am sure that it looks great)

IMG_7687

  • The size is the same, a 4" square card and then the navy is 1/4" smaller and than run through the big shot with the super fun Polka Dot embossing folder!
  • I used the 3/4" circle punch to pop out the garden gree circles and then adhered them to the navy with my friend  = "green glue"
  • Next, I took the deco framlit and cut out the middle and then using (2) of the deco framelits I made a simple mat in garden green to adhered that to the polka dot base.

IMG_7691

  • I used a bunch of stampin' dimensionals to POP up the blue dot part! Then I snuggled the sentiment in the stamped/cut out area and laid it flat…love it!
  • The finishing touch was the simple white dots made with the white gel pen, a must have accent tools but remember, it does take a bit longer to dry so be patient along with a simple heart to give it a bit of bling.

IMG_7693

  • Yesterday I adhered the back flap of the envelope…today I did the inside…just wanted to change it up a bit! (I adore this DSP – if I could purchase a a dozen sheets of this yummy navy and white paper = DONE!

IMG_7690

Well…there you go my friends! I hope that you have enjoyed this 2 day post and I also hope that I have inspired you that making some simple changes can make a difference. They both are great and classics but you can see there are always options!

Pop back tomorrow as I am switching my schedule a bit but when you see the post – you'll understand why! I am so happy that you all enjoyed seeing the sneak peak of the new In Colors, I am thrilled with them and I am super excited to play!

I will be able to do a pre-order on Tuesday and with that pre-order I will be ordering the new catalogs! I will be sending to all of the wonderful customers that have order from me a copy of the new catalog.

If you are currently not working with Stampin' up! demonstrator,

I would be honored to help you.

If you would like me to mail you a catalog, please email me with your address and I will be happy to do so. I know that there are sooo many wonderful SUD out there and I encourage you to find the "right fit", but if you are not working with someone I would love to have fun with you!

I love what I do and I love helping you! What we do does make a difference…..you know it and so do the people that receive your works of art!

Until tomorrow!

Woot-Woot! It's the weekend and I am doing the smiling Susan dance as I do love these 2 day challenges! Today card is a simple and clean card (just my style) and then please pop back tomorrow to see the stepped up version!

Today's card showcases 3 colors that I love together (white,my navy and green)….so classic, so clean, so fresh! It doesn't get any cleaner than this and you can see how you can easily change the colors…the orientation of the card to get a total different look!

p.s. – make sure you hang on to the end because there is a SURPRISE that I think will make you smile…no peeking yet = please see the scoop on the card today and then ENJOY!

Let's get going!

  • This is a 4" square card and you will see on Monday where is is going! Square cards are my HANDS DOWN favorite and being able to make your own envelope is a cinch with our envelope punch board.
  • This is a super fun stamp set and I am happy that it will be around as it is a fun one! This coordinates with the deco label framelits so it is a win -win each and every time!

134090G

  • All of the sentiments are stellar and fun – and it can be used for so many occasions – it makes a perfect card and you will see on Monday how I am going to use this stamp set again.

IMG_7681

  • To get the polka dots "perfect" I used the embossing folder and then the 1/2" punch to place the garden green circles just where I wanted them

IMG_7677

  • Stampin' Dimensionals did the trick to lift the sentiment up to shine! (Don't be skimmy on them)
  • Envelope time…using this amazing DSP to line the back flap was a quick and simple touch

IMG_7680

Don't you love these colors together? They are so classic – can't you imagine other color combinations to give a totally different twist!

IMG_7678

Well….thoughts??? Can you see making a card like this? Please pop back tomorrow to see the changes I did (that literally took a minute but can it a new look!) I hope that these types of post encourage you to look at your work in different ways.

It’s “Art’s” Special Day!

IMG_7644

Wowzers…was it fun to sit down last night and read all of the comments that you all left yesterday! There are sooooo many great ideas and it really made me thing of more things that I am hoping for – I will share with you some of them after I whip through this super cute card!

Today is a very special day for a co-worker to my wonderful husband. One of the founding partners of his firm is retiring today. His name is Art and he has been such an amazing mentor and an inspiration to John as he has grown his business.

He has said for years….this is my last Tax Season and sure enough he still comes back but now he has set the date (today) and John is planning a special celebration for him. (Trust me, they both will be in tears when he hears the words that John is saying)

IMG_7648

I told you that I love BIG stamp sets…and this is a true blue keeper in my eyes and darn, I sure hope it is carried over in the new catalog! It is appropriately called Big On You. I knew that this would be PERFECT for a card for Art as it truly is his day!

137151G

You can see that this card came together in a snap and uses minimal products! It has been a while since I have used Sahara Sand and this is perfect with the Adventure Abound DSP Stack.

I really wanted to use a framelit to POP the sentiment out and the largest square scalloped Framelit was perfect for it! This is something that I do not use often as truthfully I forget about it.

IMG_7650

Did you notice something that I rarely do? I sponged the edges with Mossy Meadow to help off set the sentiment against the DSP. It was the perfect "little something" that I needed. I also "doubled up" the dimensionals to really make it pop.

I was very happy with the end result as this is perfect for Art and I know that John's written words in this card will mean a lot to him. Art is a wonderful man, a great father and husband but now it is time for him to enjoy life!

IMG_7646

Today's card is a "less is best" card and I hope that you enjoyed it! I just adore an over-sized card, there is something special about holding a BIG card in your hand.

Now let's get to great ideas of wishing….(remember when you see this post today I have yet to see the new catalog) so as I type this I am still "Writing a list for Santa"

Santa Paws

  • Stitched framelits would be fabulous
  • Stampin' Spots is a great idea
  • New designs in the DSP stacks but please keep polka dots
  • Sticky Strip will have a new friend….(stampin' up! would not let us down)
  • INSIDE SENTIMENTS – yes…we need them!!!!
  • Lime Green…YES – I loved that comment as I just adore Black, White and Lime Green together!
  • More Masculine Stamps!

Well my friends, time will tell….so please leave more comments of your wishes…ideas or a simple tip and tomorrow I will announce the winner of the paper swatches of all of the new papers from the new catalog!

I think that it  is very evident that we all enjoy reading each other comments – this is what I adore about blogging….we can express ourselves and learn from each other!

Great_idea

I know that we are all excited about the new catalog and guess what – I would love for you to be on this fun journey with me! Do you realize that you can get your started kit with NEW pre-order items from the new catalog? Starting on Tuesday you can do this!

Just think….you can pick $125.00 worth of product and pay just $99.00 and get to order new goodies early before the unveiling to the world on June 2nd.Please feel free to email me and I would love to talk with you…it's a FUN journey and one that I adore…it would be fun to be in this together (and I know you would love being a PAL)

The best thing is that there truly are no commitments to stay…you already know that you love our products, so why not have a double win-win for yourself…getting the new products at a discount and doing something for you.(Consider this an early Mothers Day gift for yourself)

Have a great day and until tomorrow!

Rev up your engines…

IMG_7639

What's up with this post title? Well, confession time – I literally had 10 minutes to make a card and I had already decided that I wanted to use the All Abloom DSP Stack – with no other thought other than that!

I call this a formula card…so be a race car and rev up your engines and keep this layout in the back of your mind. This is sooooo darn easy, I feel rather silly taking a post about this but I want to share with you how easy you can whip up a card and use it for many occasions!

IMG_7632

Let's get going…This stamp set, Really Good Greetings (just $11.71 for the clear mount) is on the good-bye list and you can see in the below image of the sentiments, it is a fun stamp set! I have made some really cute cards with this set and I am sad that it is leaving (I think it has some very unique sentiments)

The key element on making this card is to make sure that you place plenty of dimensionals so the DSP paper part really lifts up without any sagging around the punched out part!

IMG_7635

The overall card is just a good old A-2 Vertical with the Mossy Meadow a smidge smaller and then the DSP a smidge smaller! I then let the wonderful punches that we have do their trick! You can see the sizes I used in the product images below!

Being able to use punches saves sooooo much time – when time is against you, pullout the key simple and fast tools that we have…and that is what punches are for me!

I "doubled up" the dimensionals for the circle part so it would pop up higher. This simple tip makes the sentiment POP and come to life!

IMG_7636

The other fun thing I did was add some interest with the Bakers Twine…a couple wraps around and then I tie a simple bow and then just used a glue dot to hold it in place! I always say that I am bow challenged so this works for me – why should I stress in trying to make sure that the whole twine stays in place!

IMG_7637

I told you that this is super simple….all that is left is the envelope! A quick addition of DSP on the back flap was the finale!

IMG_7642

Now let's get what today is….the unveiling of NEW weekly deals! I say yippee skippee – Click here to see whats on sale this week…what is your favorite?

Remember that the retiring list in melting…. click here for the stamps you will see that there are many accessories that are already sold out. I am going to miss strawberry slush – I just cannot get enough of it and I hope that this card popped a smile on your face!

Thanks for sharing a cup of coffee with me today, I hope that I have inspired you that simple is just fine!!! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know if you also think punches are lisfesavers!

Until tomorrow!

Step it up Sunday!

IMG_7615

Well….I think that yesterday's card was fun…and I know that there are not many changes for today but I hope that you can see that making subtle changes and also changing the orientation of the card makes a huge difference.

When I first started with card making, I always just made cards in the regular horizontal position like yesterdays card! WHY??? I really do not know, it was probably just the way that I learned and truthfully I think I was just comfortable with it!

Let's see what today's card is about…I simply changes it to a vertical A-2 card and then added the Rich Razzleberry as a mat and presto – a different look.

IMG_7611

I hope that you can see that making a super quick and super simple change will give you a different look. I invite you to play with paper. Paper is a very fast and easy way to change the feel of your work. (Remember, when you have a large mat that is going to be covered up…punch it out to save paper)

IMG_7612

Basically the card is the same….same dots around the edge (I love my dots) and the same with the flowers – one is mounted flat, the other "double" dimensionals. I think using the mat of color gives instant depth.

IMG_7613

This is a super simple card but a card layout that you will use over and over – basic shapes…great stamps…a winner every time.

Envelope love in 2 ways – the back flap embossed with the fun polka dots and the front with the stamps that I already had out…so why not!?!?

IMG_7618

Please click here to see yesterdays post to see the difference between the (2) cards. I personally think that you would not go wrong with either one. I think it is fun changing the orientation of the cards and please have fun with using all sorts of DSP and colors of paper!

Remember, the retiring list is out and there are many stamp sets that many of you love so you better snatch them up now and also the accessory retiring list is M E L T I N G ….these are while supplies last!

I hope that you have enjoyed this weekend fun of cards…which one do you like??? Do you tend to do more vertical or horizontal cards??? Feel free to leave a comment or send me an email!

Until tomorrow!
