I do not know why…but evey time I use Vellum, I feel like I have created a extra special project! There is always an element of sheer elegance and it is something that only needs to be used sparingly…just to keep it super special!
This is a super easy card and a card that carries a big statement with the flow of the flowers…the dimensions and the clean lines! How easy is it with just using the Circle Framelits to create the space and let the flowers stand out and be the "show"

I bet many of you do not realize that we carry White Staz On Ink…it is something that I do not use often but when I do (I simply forget) I adore it! It works perfect to stamp on vellum and having the coordinating punches makes it super easy! The stamps sets I used were Mixed Bunch and Flower Shop!

The biggest frustration with using vellum is what adhesive to use as you can always see it! I always try to conceal it and today I used the tiny flower to hide the adhesive (green glue) underneath the flower!
I used a pearl for the feminine finishing touch and I colored it with the Calypso Coral Blendabilities…this works great!

You can see on the above picture that I "curled" the flowers with the bone folder – it makes it have more movement – love this look!
Now to the sentiment! O.k. – call me "clueless" but I simply do not get this whole "hash tag" stuff! I know that it is super popular but I do not "get it" This is from the stamp set # Hello…and I admit – I bought this for 2 reasons….
- For the large circle stamps…I have some great cards for you in later posts!
- The silly # tags…I thought my kids would get a kick out of them as I thought I could make cards to send to them and I am sure that I will get a phone call saying…."Mom – do you even know what a hash tag is?"

White is classic and "White simply works"…I let the sheer simplicity of the card make it shine through!

Using the beautiful and classic Designer Series Paper, Gold Soiree Specialty Paper…I simply added a piece to the back flap and then carried the # tag sentiment across the front of the envelope!

This card is for a very special young lady….she is a HUGE help to John and I with the animals and I know that this will put a smile on her face as she is so darn special to me – I feel like she is my daughter!
Please do not forget to check out the weekly deals that Stampin' Up! is offering this week!I hope that I have inspired you to use vellum and also the White Staz on Ink! They work beautifully together and vellum is wonderful at the holidays!
Please email me and also, many thanks for sharing my blog and passion with your family and friends. Remember, you can subscribe to my blog to get a daily dose of inspiration!
Thanks for popping in and until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Sep 13, 2014 | Photopolymer Stamps, Super Easy |

Happy weekend to all! I was excited to share with you today's card! I adore monchromatic cards and I think that this one is simple, sweet, practical and just classic! I will say that the photos do not do it justice so please try it for yourself!
The stamp sets I used today are the Bordering Blooms (pg. 162) and Hi There (pg. 18)! There is something that I love about each of these stamp sets..
- The borders are a photopolymer set and WOW – we know how easy that make for us for perfect placement
- The "hello" font is priceless ( I would but it just for that sentiment….adore the free flowing font!

Some people think it is a challenge to do a card in the same color family…it really is not – best advice is "go for it" I personally love the end result! Let's get to it…..

Now that Stampin up! has come out with the Note Card and Envelope is Crumb Cake….I am doing the woot-woot dance! I love this size as it is "just perfect" for writing the prefect note!
Making a mat a "smidge smaller" as you know I do not like to see the linen thread on the inside of the card (if I can help it) – I corner rounded all edges of both the mat and the card!

I started by stamping the left side with the adorable border stamp but all I used was versa mark…that's right – versa mark and nothing else! Doesn't it give such a rich and deep effect against the crumb cake paper?

Pulling out "old faithful" – the Stamp-a-ma jig…I was able to get the "hello" just where I wanted it. I did use the crumb cake ink for this! I wanted it to be a bit deeper to stand out but to still blend and be subtle with the border!

Now here comes some fun! I wrapped the linen thread around which in itself gives it a great look but then I took some scrap crumb cake and balled it all up….then smoothed it out and punched the flowers! WHY? – I thought that this gave it a soft look and then a simple candy dot…DONE!
You know I need to do something to the envelope! I thought that the sentiment was too big for the front so I did a simple stamp on the back flap for the mail man to smile and then added the border across the front!

This card would be one that you could mass produce in a jif and also it is so appropriate for so many cards that we send….change up the colors and get a totally different feel. I think that these borders are super fun and I plan to do many more cards with them for you!
It is a bittersweet time being back in Lynchburg but all in all it is great. My brother is here….so many friends etc….The one thing that is truly amazing about Ted was that he had friends of ALL generations and they are all so wonderful…it's hard to explain but it is so comforting to be with so many positive, interesting and lovely people!
Please pop back tomorrow as I have a card that looks hard but it is not at all ( you know me….I am challenged with difficulties)…I did the coloring while listening to a video….it's super cute and carries a big punch!
Until tomorrow!

I know that when we hear Stampin' Up! we think of stamps…card making…the Big Shot…framelits …ya-da-ya-da – but I am so happy that we are "spot on trend" in offering many more options!
I am thrilled that Stampin' Up! is offering more and more bags…boxes…heavier card stock for making your own boxes….wreath….again, ya-da-ya-da!
Today is a short post as I am traveling for Ted's memorial service but this is one product that you should not overlook WHY? It is a perfect size for many things and you can decorate it in so many ways!
Today I am using the Dots Decorative Mask and these are not only sooooo affordable ($2.95 for BOTH of them...WOW) – they clean so easy and they are just FUN!
I have used them several times before on posts and I have always been pleased with the end result!

I will share with you a couple of tips that I think make this wonerful piece of plastic the best!
- If you are working on a project that you can use some simple masking tape to help "anchor it down"…you'll be a happy stamper…this helps with the "wiggle"
- Try to use a circular motion when applying the ink (you will get a more uniform look) Today I ised the white craft ink which is "wetter" and you can see that I did have some excess paint….sorry!

I am loving thie new thick twine…I wish that it came in more colors as I think that it adds a fun and fresh texture! It will fray so you need to use super sharp scissors for cutting.
I would reccommend the Craft Scissors…hands down the best for cutting (I actually have 2 – one that has a piece of ribbon tied on it so I know to only use them for ribbon and the other for paper! LOVE…LOVE them!

Let you imagination go wild with decorating….the ideas are endless and I will share with you in later posts more of the fun packaging ideas that we offer!
Please click here and you will see the grouping of all of the packaging we have now! I love that stampin' up! has it all together in one place!

Thanks for popping in today! Tomorrow I have a very unique monochromatic card for you tomorrow that it super interesting with the textures….it's different but it is very easy and quite effective!
Please feel free to email me and below is a new photopolymer stamp set…..WOW – it is very, very interesting…please help me make the decision…should it make its way to my house? I am on the fence but leaning to hit that "buy me button"….what do you think….please leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts!
It is called You've Wonderful…..love the name – you can click here and see the scoop!

Until tomorrow…..

Happy Saturday to all! Yesterday I posted a card for a friends Birthday. Tom is one special person to our family as not only is he Hannah's horse trainer….we are proud to call him our friend! He has kept Hannah challenged yet safe for many years!
He has a smile that never stops shining and he is truly one of the most positive individuals I know. He is truly one that thinks of the "sunny side" of life! He is soooooo funny as during the week he does not eat chocolate…Sunday is the day that he enjoys his favorite treats….Peanut M & M's!
Tomorrow the fabulous group of families that go to the barn are having a birthday party for him at the river! We alwasy have fun at the river and there are so many dogs that come…play…swim….just a great time all the way around! I know that Tom will love his card and goodies!

If you look at the pictures you will see that I made (8) of these pouches…why 8? Well….easy – there are 8 more Sunday's until Halloween and then I will restock him up with something else cute for his weekly treat!

Each pouch holds 4 packs of M&M's and you can see that I used just about all of the stamps in this super fun stamp set! Please click here to see yesterday post that I focused on the card. These adorable and practical pouches have an endless amount of uses. They are called the Mini Muslin Bags and are on page 200 in the catalog!

I love the soft, fun and natural look and feel of these bags! You can see that I added a piece of Baked Brown Sugar Bakers Twine and you can also see that I just simply stamped many of the images and the "free-hand" cut around the shape of the sentiment…no worries…just do it!

I must confess…I have never used these adorable clothespins and I am asking myself WHY!!!??? You know that I prefer simple over fussy and I always thought that they would be too distracting but I think they are what makes these adorable gifts!

So what do you think? Aren't they super cute? I am going to pile them in a basket and fru-fru it up a bit…a perfect gift! I find it so rewarding to make my own gifts…I say they are true gifts from the heart!

Have a wonderful day and please pop tomorrow as I have a SUPER SUNDAY offering for you! I am hopeful that you are going to love it and appreciate it as it is a gift of my heart to you….to be able to share my passion for simple and clean cardmaking with you!
I appreciate your time, you support and also your passion for cardmaking! I truly love what I do and I love to help and inspire you.
In closing, sad news…my dear friend Ted passed away. Although I know it is a blessing it is hard. I have fabulous memories of an incredible man.
Until tomorrow…..

by Susan Itell | Aug 30, 2014 | Halloween, New Product, Super Easy |

BOO! It is Simple Saturday and is this simple and cute card or what! When I was little, I can remember being a ghost for Halloween and I was so excited to go to the door to get my trick-n-treat goodies…and say BOO to the people opening the door!
This adorable ghost is from the new must have stamp/set bundle called Fall Fest. There is no doubt that it needs to be purchased as a bundle for 2 reasons!
- You will save an instant 15%
- Who wants to “fussy cut” these images when you have the framelits that match that can do the trick!
Please make sure that you pop back tomorrow as I have a super beautiful Fall/Halloween card using this set in a totally different way!

There is not much to this but here you go!

- I cut the Black Paper to a note card size, 5” X 3 ½ and then cut another piece just a “smidge smaller”…You’ll see why as I wanted this to be a super simple card!
- To the smaller black piece I took it to the Big Shot…(just a couple more days for this Big Shot Promotion) and cut out my ghost….BOO! You will lift this piece up with Stampin' Dimensionals!

- To the FUN part. Something that I do not thing we all use often but when we do…the smiles come out! That is using White Vellum Paper. I think that the reason that we do not use it often is that it is hard to conceal the adhesive as it shows through so this is why I cut the black piece smaller than the card!

- Is he cute or what!?!?! I used the black marker to make the eyes and mouth….(please do not stress about it….just do it! )This card will make anyone smile and the DSP is from the Back to Black paper!

I hope that this brings a smile to your face! It does mine. I will use a white gel marker to write my message inside but if you feel more comfortable, simply add a piece of whisper white so you can use black to write!
I know that you are going to be smiling when you see tomorrows card – I think it is a "keeper" card and I plan to make many of them to send to friends and family….actually I think that this is going to be the card that I send to people that place an order with me!

Please remember that for every order I receive until Monday evening at 9 p.m. eastern time, your name will go in the “cyber pot” with random.org to win your choice of (2) Designer Series Paper from the new catalog along with 6 handmade cards from me!
PLEASE NOTE: When you place an order with me and click the "no contact" option, there is NO WAY that I can find out who you are - which means that I can not say "thank you" or send you a card…or put you in the drawing for the DSP and 6 cards! If you have done this by mistake, please email me.
On a personal note…Hannah left today for India…L O N G trip but she is soooooo ready and excited for her adventure!
BOO….have a great day and until tomorrow

by Susan Itell | Aug 27, 2014 | Fall Cards, Super Easy |

It is “Hump Day"…. Wednesday…drum roll – drum roll – you know what tomorrow is…the unveiling of the NEW Holiday Catalog and for those of you that do not have one in your little paw – 1st, I am sorry….and 2nd if you are not currently working with a Stampin’ Up! Demonstator, I would be more than happy to send you one. Just email me and I will send one your way!
I hope that today’s post brings a smile to your face and also warms your heart. This is a new stamp that is a “single” stamp and you know how I love my single stamps! I ask you to stop and say…I’m Thankful For ____________________ and fill in the blank! I see endless ideas for this stamp!

Let’s get going!
- The base is Very Vanilla making it into a 5 X 5 Card (I have a bunch of square cards for you this week) and then a “smidge” smaller is the Mossy Meadow and lastly the very vanilla again! I just love layering!
TIP ALERT: I know that I use a lot of paper but I feel that there is SOOOO much that you can do with paper that makes making clean and simple cards even easier etc…please remember, make the most out of your paper. For this card I cut out shapes on the Mossy Meadow, as I knew it would be covered up.
- When you look at the stamp you can see that there are many lines. For today’s card I just wanted the sentiment so after I inked it up in Mossy Meadow I simply took a baby wipe and cleaned off the lines, again – super easy!

- The focal fun is from a Bigz Die called Autumn Accents. You can see from the image below the variety of fun and classic shapes that are on this die.

TIP ALERT #2: This goes back to my 1st point – see how simple paper makes such a difference! You can place many different little pieces of scraps over the image you want to create and then simply run it through the big shot! These Bigz Dies are to me a must have as you always have a fall back to if you do not have a stamp set for fall…classic – timeless!
- After I cut my images out I placed them on top of a piece of computer paper and then using the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge I gave it a quick stamp with Soft Suede.

- “Gathering” my fall fun up, I pierced a hole and then placed a Candy Dots Brad Base and the “dot” is from the Regals to hold it together! Taking a small piece of linen thread and wrapping it around the base made it super easy to make a bow!
- Being that I already knew that this card would take extra postage, as it is a square card, I took advantage of adding a special touch of the linen thread around the edges! I love the look and feel it gives – what do you think!?!?

- Now to the envelope…since I needed to use the envelope punchboard I thought why not make the mailman really smile and make a FUN color envelope! The envelope is Hello Honey and then I took a piece of scrap Blackberry Bliss and stamped it with the Gorgeous Grunge and lined the outer part of the envelope!

That’s is and it is a fun, clean and beautiful card! I am sure that you can think of many people to send this card to. I just adore the font and to me, these 3 words are so powerful and meaningful.

Time is running out for the Short & Sweet opportunity and I invite you to go back to my post that I highlighted the specifics about it. Click here to see it.
I have had many emails about it and I can simply give you this advice…Please read these below bullets and then if you are ready to do something for yourself – than click here and get going! I would love to have you on my team!
- You have nothing to lose.
- Hobbiest are the best and there are no expectations.
- Why not take advantage of getting your products at a discount?
- It is YOUR decision to make it what YOU want it to be.
- You have a 1-time opportunity to take advantage of a 30% discount (when I joined, I took FULL advantage of this one as my plan was to sign up…use the 30% discount and be done!!!)
- You would have until January 31, 2005 to make the decision to place another order or not…think about this…that is sooooo far away; you can see that this is a no brainer…
- Being a part of a positive and just simply fun group of individuals is the icing one the cake for me! I am not a facebook gal but Mary Fish has created several private facebook groups that are for us to learn, explore and share our paper crafting skills with. We are a very close and active group and the funniest thing is I have never met them in person but a relationship has developed. I love being a PAL!

Please email me and I would love to talk to you if you wish! There is really nothing more to say than to do it for YOU! I know personally that I have never regretted it one bit, in fact it has enriched my life so much that I can easily say…
I’m Thankful For Stampin’ Up!
Through Stampin’ Up! I have been able to grow, learn and express myself to help not only develop an inner confidence but to also know I make a difference – if it is through my blog…through my monthly service that I do for Breast Cancer but most importantly I am doing it for me…and that makes me happy!
Until tomorrow!
