“JOY”…9 Weeks til’ Christmas!

IMG_2697

O.k. – I admit… as I was posting for the day I had to pull the calendar out and say…really – am I correct…is it just 9 quick weeks until Christmas? YEP!!! Yikes – but do not stress…if you want to make some holiday cards you can make them in a fun and simple way…just like today's card!

I can hardly keep up with all of the "happenings" that have been going on with Stampin' Up! these past couple of weeks but yesterday was the trump card with the unveiling of the 25 Stamp Sets that are available only until October 28th for 25% off in honor of their 25th anniversary!

Please click here to see them and then remember that you can go to the search button on the right upper corner of my blog and type in the stamp set and then you can view cards and projects I might have made using that specific set!

When I heard they were going to be doing this, I first thought that they would possibly pick stamp sets that might not be the best sellers in the catalog but once again, Stampin' Up! did not let us down…these 25 sets are SUPER DUPER sets and honestly I must confess…I already have most of them but I do plan to take advantage of this opportunity for some Holiday gifts for friends and family that stamp!

I thought it would be fun to showcase a Stamp Set everyday during this week of sale of a stamp that is included! Today being Wednesday …it is the day that I highlight a Holiday Card…now isn't this a super simple yet WOW card!

Remember…to me – less is best!

IMG_2696

Let's get to the in's and out's of todays card as after…I have even more exciting new product to share with you!

True to form in how I design most of my cards…I chose the liner that I wanted to use for the envelope…the stamp set that I wanted to showcase…and BAM…I sat down and said…"Time to create"!!!

  • The Card size ia a 5" Square…you know I adore odd sizes and it is just 2nd nature to me now with the Envelope Punch Board…for just $19.95 you can make over 66 sizes of envelopes – I say a big WOOT-WOOT!!!

(If you are new to my blog or also new to Stampin'…please click here and watch the short video on this gem of a product – I am still amazed at how simple it is…LOVE IT!!!!)

  • Working in…the Cherry Cobbler piece is a 4 1/2" square (and YES,I did use the "inside" of the square to cut shapes out as I knew it was going to be covered!!! – love saving paper!!!)
  • Wanting to "play" up the theme of the chevron liner I thought a white square – 4 1/4" …ran throguh with the help of my main man, Mr. Big Shot and the Chevron Embossing Folder was the perfect texture!

  • The next layer in is Cherry Cobbler in a 3 3/8" square and again…I used the inside to save paper and then the White "JOY" piece is a 3 1/4" square!

IMG_2699

  • Pulling out a ruler I drew a faint line to help me keep my letters straight! I always stamp the center first and then work out! The Stamp Set is the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and as you can see…it makes a bold and classic statement!

(I think that this stamp set has been overlooked  by many as they shy away as it is pricy…but now that it is 25% off and you can see how this would be fantastic for a simple monogram…short words…etc…it a keeper at $26.21)

  • You can see that I stamped "JOY" a bit higher to allow room for the Ribbon! Being that I am "Bow challenged" a simple "Susan knot" did the trick – clean, crisp and classic! The ribbon is my favorite go to Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon – (wish that had every color in this ribbon!!!)

IMG_2701

Gently Falling with thanks…

IMG_2684

Ok…I know…I know – I have been doing lots of fall cards but after all – it is Fall and it is my favorite time of the year! We had an absolutely beautiful day yesterday and it was wonderful to carve pumpkins…take in the fresh and crisp air that the season brings!

Now how about this card for a clean and simple card! This is a “Susan
style of card” and I love everything about it! You all know by now that I adore
the Note card Size of Cards!

Do you know what color this is…I am sure many are saying Sahara Sand….
but it is something that I would put a pretty good bet on that you do not use!

It is a “sleeper” in the catalog in my opinion but remember I shared it
with you several posts again in the white? This paper is called the Naturals
Ivory Paper
! Love the little “flicks” in it!

IMG_2688

Let’s get to the fun! This is a classic example of this being a great
card to of making a bunch of cards with this simple and very duplicatable
layout….

  • I used the base of the Card in the note card size on Always Artichoke
    in the 5” X 3 ½”
  • Using the Gently Falling Stamp I first stamped the Always Artichoke and
then the Sahara Sand on either side!

  • With the help of my fun tool….the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig  I lined up the sentiment which is from
the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set…(love it!)

IMG_2687

Now
to this point – you can definitely agree with me…  this is one super easy and one super straightforward card!

Can
you see how cutting all of the paper…then stamping all of the images…it is a
breeze to make a bunch of!

Now
to the envelope! Again…you know me well enough…it needs to match my card…after
all – first impressions are key!

IMG_2686

  • Using the Naturals Ivory Paper and cut it to the size that the Envelope
    Punch Board
guided me to do….cut a 7 ¼” square! This tool is the must have tool
of the year and being under $20.00 – I say….woot-woot!

  • I need to make the mailman smile so today I did a double whammy! I
stamped the leaf and sentiment on the front and then I also lined the back flap
with the Regals Designer Series Paper Stacks!

Cute,
fun & done! I was tickled with this card and again, this is a layout that
you can use over and over again…. think about with flowers…. think about with
ornaments…super cute – right!!!

IMG_2689

I
great tip I can give you with a card like this is…make up an extra one for you
to have for the future – put a post it note on the inside with the dimensions
sizes that I have given you…why take you time in measuring!

I
hope that you have enjoyed today’s card and I hope that you CASE away with it!
It’s a keeper and I know whomever receives it will be super happy!

IMG_2685

Today
is the last day that you can take advantage of the $25.00 Starter Kit! The
growth of the PALS has been super and I would love for you to be another one of
the fun group that has taken advantage of this unreal offer!

Stampin’

of exciting…tomorrow, the 22nd Stampin Up! is offering 25 different

“Best of Greetings” are simply the best!

For those of you that subscribe to my blog…sorry for the delay getting to you – I changed the timer anf forgot to hit save! Have a great day and enjoy today's post!

IMG_2592

Now if this card does not give you a quick "pick me up"…..please email me and let's talk! I have had an extrememly busy week and as I was driving home from work I thought, I need to come up with some super quick and easy cards!

How does this tickle your fancy! It is from the Best of Greetings Stamp Set, and remember, these stamps are only avaliable for a limited time as they are in the 25th anniversary collection! The BIG bonus is…when you purchase 6 of these…you can get a 7th one free!!! Please click here and see all of the available stamp sets! I adore them and think the "themes" have been super!

This card was a super cinch to make and just think of all of the different framelit shapes you can use and also all of the different stamps you can use! The base of the card is from my "go to" Note Cards & Envelopes..just love these gems!

Today's card I used the Squares Collection Framelits (it's hip to be square!!!) This is soooo darn tootin' simple and I think the simplicity of this card has a WOW factor…

I first opened up the card to lay it flat and then cut my square out of the front of the card! ( I used the Square #2)

TIP ALERT: Take a pencil and draw the square on the inside of the card so when it is time to stamp the sentiment…presto you will get it straight….you will look like a pro and then simply erase the pencil lines!

To create the outside square I simply took the #2 and #3 framelit and ran it through the Big Shot to create the square that I adhered to the outside of the card front! A HUGE help and a "must have" product is the Big Shot Magnetic Platform…this makes it a total cinch for perfect placement each and every time!

Products like this make is so quick and easy to get a great end result! The best advice I can give a new stamper is…build up your supplies with "tools" that will allow you to make your projects as quick and easy…this Platform has saved me so much time  – plus it saves on paper as I do not "miss" on my cuts!

IMG_2601

Easy…right? Adding some flowers in the corners was a quick pop of the Boho Blossoms Punch and also the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (I love that fun name) Remember….doing things in "3's" works….it is easy on the eye and the balance will always be "spot on"!!!

To the centers of the flowers I put a Candy Dot from the Subtles Collection to match the Calypso Coral! I like to roll up the edges of my flowers….cute and simple!

It seems rather silly to show you a picture of these little gems…but I think they are simply the best in having a quick "bling" and thank you Stampin' Up! for making them in all of the color collections – a no brainer as they match our paper – woot-woot!!!!

IMG_2600

Are you wondering how or why I picked these colors? Easy…I created the color scheme from the liner I was going to use! I do this just about everyday to dictate the colors I will use! I have not used the I Am Me Desgner Series Paper for a long time and I thought it was a clean and fresh look!

Once again….easy! Just look at the coordinating colors that go with the paper and BAM…you are on your way to a great card! Using the Envelope Liner Framelit was another no brainer as it is again – another timesaver….

Are you starting to see the pattern here…having certain "key" products is the name of the game! I love what I do and I love making and sending cards…but if I did not have the "tools"…I would be totally frustrated!

IMG_2596

For some reason I loved the angle of this picture…this is a great example of how this clean and simple card came to life for me in a snap…because I had the right tools!

Think of it this way…if you are in the kitchen and following a recipe…you need to have the right ingredients and tools to make the yummy end result…it's the same with card making!

I started making cards as an "outlet" for myself in going to a monthly Stamp Club…I adored and looked forward to our monthly "play time" and I could hardly wait to come home and show John what I made!

I built up my inventory of "tools" well before I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and now looking back – I did it BACKWARDS! Please do not make the same mistake I made!

The majority of Demonstrators are hobbist and with the amazing opportunity for you to join for just $25.00…I have one question for you….

Why not?

I think we are all too hard on ourselves and we are scared that joining Stampin' Up! means you have an obligation…that you need to teach classes…that you have to have a blog….that you will have to go to meetings….that you will go in debt….ya-da-ya-da….

The answers are NO,NO,NO,NO,NO!!!

If you know that you are going to get product anyway, than why not get the product at a discount? Why not get it early? It really is a very win-win situation…you can start whenever you want and you can stop when ever you want…it's that simple!

So the moral of the story is for $25.00 – what do you have to loose?

Asbolutely nothing…please email me and I will be happy to talk with you and also, if you would like to talk with me and also my wonderful upline Mary Fish, we will gladly arrange a time for a call!

I am passionate about building my team and I would love for you to be on this fun…simple journey with me! If you're ready now….simply click here and just order whatever you want that is at least $25.00 but not over $26.95…it ships for free!

I love clean and simple cards but more importantly I am very passionate about showing YOU that YOU can do projects that are both fun and rewarding!

Until tomorrow!

“Halloween Hello”…easy as 1-2-3!!!

IMG_2532

Quick, fun, easy, duplicatable…this is one "Wham Bam…Thank You Maam" card! Stampin' Up! usually has "small" stamps in many of the Stamp Sets that they offer…and when you see one – I hope the "light-bulb" goes off for you to use this layout!

By now if you follow me, you have heard me say endless times…when you find a layout that WORKS…save it for later and change up the stamp and sentiment and BAM – you are good to go!

This card, I would suggest that you make up a template for the square part…keep it somewhere that you can go to easily and WOOT-WOOT….a card in a jif!

Sorry the pictures are not the best today…but I think that you will get the idea!

The card is using the Note Card & Envelopes….what a bargain – 20 Cards and Envelopes for just $5.95!!! I adore the smaller size as a 3 1/2" X 5" card is a perfect size!

The 1" square punch is the must have tool for this card!

Here is my 1st tip….take another piece of white paper and cut it to 3 1/2 x 5 and then find the center and the measure down 1" (as that is the depth of your square punch) This is a HUGE help to making a template and then you will trim off a bit from the sides to make is smaller for the effect of the final card!

IMG_2526

After this…I take my "template" over top of my note card and draw 3 of the squares on the card to make my stamping easy! It is sooooo much easier to do this from the start, use your stamp-a-ma- jig and get it perfect…a simple erase of the pencil and YOU ARE GOOD TO GO!

IMG_2527

IMG_2528

The stamp set that I used was from the Holiday Catalog and it is still not too late to order Halloween Stamps but CLICK my shop now button and "get on it" so you can make some cute cards and projects! It is called Halloween Hello and I have used it a bunch on my blog!

Halloween Hello Clear-mount Stamp Set

Everything else is a breeze! Again, use your Stamp-A-ma-jig to place the sentiment….it would be sooo darn silly to do this cute and fun card to have a crooked sentiment!

The Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set always comes to the rescue for the perfect short sentiment! An "A list" set to have!!!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Clear-Mount Stamp Set

Stampin Dimensionals are also the key element to a card like this….it is great to use up all of the "extras" that are around the dimensionals…WE DO NOT WASTE A THING!!! What would we do without these gems!

IMG_2537

Another tip….I always use the Black Stazon Ink! Why? Just love the clean and crisp image it produces but  please note that you need to use the StazOn Cleaner when you use this ink….no big deal – it is important to keep your stamps clean and conditioned properly!

IMG_2536

I know that it is super hard to see….but I did use the liner from the Witches Brew Designer Series Paper….using the Big Shot and the Envelope Framelit is the finishing touch!

This card really is super cute in person, sometimes pictures just do not do justice! Please CASE this layout and have fun! If you do….please send me your card – I would love to see it!

This has been such a fun week and I am so excited to have my daughter home….she has missed her Dad and is loving pampering him….

I hope that everyone has a great weekend and please if you have not already done so….subscribe to my blog so I can give you a daily dose of fun and inspiration!

IMG_2488

  • Ready for keeping it simple….the Pumpkin Pie pieces are 2 5/8" an a 3 5/8" squares, the Whisper White is a 2 1/2" square and lastly the Designer Series paper from the Neutrals Designer Paper Pack is a 3 1/2" square.

Best of Halloween Clear-mount Stamp Set

Envelope time….I am going to spend a little more time today on the envelope as when it comes to making envelopes we have a couple of different options!

We all know that the Envelope Punch Board is the best thing that has come down the pike….and if you do not have it…it's easy – YOU NEED IT!

Today I did not use it…I wanted to show you that if you do not have it you can still make your own envelope with the help of the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. Click here to see Mary Fish's great chart on making envelopes…I use it often and I would suggest that you print it off as you will refer to it!

IMG_2490

Before I get to the simple how to's did you notice my smile for the mailman? I love to make their day as well…that is a hard job and they are a big part of what we do…..there's nothing like going to your mailbox and having a card in your mailbox for you!

IMG_2412

A question I get asked often is…how do I do the outside of my envelopes? Easy…I just take a piece of Designer Series Paper ( be careful if it has a pattern to make the pattern nice and even)…I use the 2 way Glue Pen – adhere and then using the paper snips cut around!

IMG_2414

Here is the end result…one great card! Did you notice the little "trio" dots I randomly placed on the card…my trademark – just love this little fun and simple trick!

IMG_2487

Ready for the Blog Candy? I think it is something that everyone will love…items that I have made and I am sure that you will put them to great use!

Simply leave me a comment and also let's have fun with sharing some of our costumes we wore in the past…I will randomly pick a winner and announce it on Thursday posting…you have a lot of blogs to HOP AROUND to so I thought I would give you some extra time!

Chalk Talk says it all….

IMG_2377

I say "WOOT-WOOT" as today is my 250th post on blogging! I know that this might be hard for you all to "take in" but I will say 1st it is a joy and 2nd is does take time! This sentiment says it all and it is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set…simply…

"I can't thank you enough"

This stamp set is not only fun but the sentiments are simply wonderful…one that should be an "A list" on your collection of stamps!

Another thing that is super is that this comes in a bundle that will save you 15% right away! (At the end I will share with you how you can also save an additional 30% off of this bundle)

Chalk Talk

I did it again, I changed my mind on today's card! I had many comments and emails about yesterdays post and asking how time consuming it was….and it was a snap!

As I was going through looking at the other Pals Paper Art Challenges and I went to fellow PAL Margaret Moody's blog to see her incredible work…I scrolled though her blog and I saw her post on a Christmas Card she did using a Mosaic Theme!

Margaret is so talented and her post brought back so many wonderful memories of when I scrap-booked a ton….and using 3" X 3" squares on 12 x 12 pages was my "go to" layout!

As I was driving home from work, I was taking in all of the beautiful colors I saw…Autumn is magical to me and I wanted to not only use the colors I saw but I wanted to share with you how darn tootin' easy it is!

Here  you go….make sure you go to the end of my blog to win a chance to win the "Blog Candy"…my thanks to you!

The card size is a 5 1/2" square…(you know me – I like fun and odd sizes) and this was super easy to do with the right tools!

A ruler and the 1" square punch are key products to make this a cinch! The colors I used are what I viewed on my drive home…Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Always Artichoke and Baked Brown Sugar! Easy-peasy…do not stress – you can do it…I know you can cause' you'll have me to help you if you need it!

IMG_2375

After cutting my paper, I simply took the ruler and made a pencil line to the center…lined up the middle one and then go to the sides! Don't stress…it is easy!

IMG_2376

TIP ALERT: The adhesive to use is the Tombow Liquid Glue…not only is it super affordable , but it is super strong and you can "wiggle" it a bit once you put it on to keep them straight – but make sure you remember – a little goes a LONG way = less it best!

After doing the squares…as we all know, "It's hip to be square" on came the simple yet heartfelt sentiment! It sums it all up….just love it!

IMG_2380

Going to another "A list" for me this Fall, the Best of Autumn…this clean and classic leaf is all this card needed! It is super easy to "fussy cut" out and remember…..turn your paper (image)…not your hand and work from the back of your paper snips!

Best of Autumn Clear-mount Stamp Set
