I know…I know – I am off my usual schedule but I think that you will enjoy this post! I decided to do this as this great die is on the weekly deal list and today is the last day for you to take advantage of getting it at a 25% discount! That in itself deserves a WOOT-WOOT!
I have used this die before and I must say when it came out, I totally passed it by as I am not a "French Fry" gal but once I saw others use it – I knew that I needed it as it is a keeper (yes, it is being carried over). Today I am using it to send to Hannah as she is beginning her final exams and wanted to send her something special.
Using the same stamp set I have used the past 2 day, Oh My Goodness….I think you can easily see that it is a keeper! It's going to be around so why not get it as you can see – it is super cute!
I know that many of us are intimated by 3-D projects and I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and give them a try! I was always a "Card Gal" but once I started to use the Big Shot to the Max and try the dies…I was so happy!
Here are some pictures that will show you the progression of the fun "treat for Hannah". The start for me is using the Vanilla Coaster Board – I adore this with 3 -D's as I feel it makes it super sturdy!
When I was putting my thinking cap on…I thought – what could I send Hannah that would make her smile, be fun, practical and let her know that John and I are thinking of her! These little chocolates are new mini chocolates (that I know she'll love) but she will REALLY love the gift card to her favorite Sushi Restaurant!
I followed the same scoop I did over Saturday and Sundays post with the embossing folder and the 3/4" punch etc…so you can see that this works too with a die like this! Just let the "green glue" set up before you trim off the edges where the die folds…..(so darn cute!)
The sentiments in this stamp set are so fun! I adore this one and I used stampin' dimensionals to lift it up! ( I think I am partial because of the Polka Dots)
The little hearts do make it – again, a great example of how our punches make our project go to a fast WOW with a punch!
I think that you can understand why I changes up our regular schedule! I really wanted to share with you how you can maximize a stamp set in totally different way and at the same time create a wow!
We are soooo lucky that Stampin' Up! offers these weekly deals and I hope that you see the value in getting this at a discount – remember, today is the last day and you know what tomorrow is….a new group of offerings!
Thanks for popping by, please feel free to leave me a comment or email me! Let's all have a great week!
Well….here it is – a quick stepped up version! There isn't much difference or time element to put into it but I hope that you can see that making these simple changes will do the job!
I loved everyones comments yesterday and I responded to many of them while watching the Kentucky Derby! I am sorry that some of you had some "hiccups" in viewing my blog yesterday – it was a Typepad issue and I am always at the mercy of the "cyber gods" to make things right!
Please click this image below so you can see the cards better and also read the text!
Let's get to it and I will explain the changes I made for today's card….a huge WOOT-WOOT to "mamajulie" who left me a comment and she was exactly right – I used the 3/4" circle punch NOT the 1/2" punch – great catch and THANKS (I am so glad that you made this card yourself, I am sure that it looks great)
The size is the same, a 4" square card and then the navy is 1/4" smaller and than run through the big shot with the super fun Polka Dot embossing folder!
I used the 3/4" circle punch to pop out the garden gree circles and then adhered them to the navy with my friend = "green glue"
Next, I took the deco framlit and cut out the middle and then using (2) of the deco framelits I made a simple mat in garden green to adhered that to the polka dot base.
I used a bunch of stampin' dimensionals to POP up the blue dot part! Then I snuggled the sentiment in the stamped/cut out area and laid it flat…love it!
The finishing touch was the simple white dots made with the white gel pen, a must have accent tools but remember, it does take a bit longer to dry so be patient along with a simple heart to give it a bit of bling.
Yesterday I adhered the back flap of the envelope…today I did the inside…just wanted to change it up a bit! (I adore this DSP – if I could purchase a a dozen sheets of this yummy navy and white paper = DONE!
Well…there you go my friends! I hope that you have enjoyed this 2 day post and I also hope that I have inspired you that making some simple changes can make a difference. They both are great and classics but you can see there are always options!
Pop back tomorrow as I am switching my schedule a bit but when you see the post – you'll understand why! I am so happy that you all enjoyed seeing the sneak peak of the new In Colors, I am thrilled with them and I am super excited to play!
I will be able to do a pre-order on Tuesday and with that pre-order I will be ordering the new catalogs! I will be sending to all of the wonderful customers that have order from me a copy of the new catalog.
If you are currently not working with Stampin' up! demonstrator,
I would be honored to help you.
If you would like me to mail you a catalog, please email me with your address and I will be happy to do so. I know that there are sooo many wonderful SUD out there and I encourage you to find the "right fit", but if you are not working with someone I would love to have fun with you!
I love what I do and I love helping you! What we do does make a difference…..you know it and so do the people that receive your works of art!
Woot-Woot! It's the weekend and I am doing the smiling Susan dance as I do love these 2 day challenges! Today card is a simple and clean card (just my style) and then please pop back tomorrow to see the stepped up version!
Today's card showcases 3 colors that I love together (white,my navy and green)….so classic, so clean, so fresh! It doesn't get any cleaner than this and you can see how you can easily change the colors…the orientation of the card to get a total different look!
p.s. – make sure you hang on to the end because there is a SURPRISE that I think will make you smile…no peeking yet = please see the scoop on the card today and then ENJOY!
Let's get going!
This is a 4" square card and you will see on Monday where is is going! Square cards are my HANDSDOWN favorite and being able to make your own envelope is a cinch with our envelope punch board.
This is a super fun stamp set and I am happy that it will be around as it is a fun one! This coordinates with the deco label framelits so it is a win -win each and every time!
All of the sentiments are stellar and fun – and it can be used for so many occasions – it makes a perfect card and you will see on Monday how I am going to use this stamp set again.
To get the polka dots "perfect" I used the embossing folder and then the 1/2" punch to place the garden green circles just where I wanted them
Stampin' Dimensionals did the trick to lift the sentiment up to shine! (Don't be skimmy on them)
Envelope time…using this amazing DSP to line the back flap was a quick and simple touch
Don't you love these colors together? They are so classic – can't you imagine other color combinations to give a totally different twist!
Well….thoughts??? Can you see making a card like this? Please pop back tomorrow to see the changes I did (that literally took a minute but can it a new look!) I hope that these types of post encourage you to look at your work in different ways.
Remember, no rules…just works of art from your heart! Thanks for popping by and please do not forget to check out the weekly deals…and also the retiring goodies! (Just because they are retiring doesn't mean that they are not keepers! There are many products that I will be keeping in my work area…cause' I love them!)
Have a fabulous day and please feel free to email me! Until tomorrow!
p.p.s. – here you go…..now do the HAPPY DANCE – the NEW IN COLORS! So….sooooooo happy! What is your favorite? I'll let you know mine tomorrow!
Well…well…well – all I can say is YEP – Stampin Up' did it –
The new catalog is A M A Z I N G and I had to be a good girl and not peek at it until last night (as I was hoping to do when it was 1st unveiled) but I had a cloud over my head that I need to finish before I could DIVE IN and see the goodies!
The personal torture I put to myself was so worth it – the catalog is fun, fresh and you are going to LOVE it! I cannot wait to share with you the FUN that is inside – my head is spinning with ideas and I cannot wait to get my "paws" on these goodies and create for you!
I ADORED the comments and YEP – some of my wishes came true and some did not – but that's ok…that's why we wish – Did we get everything on or wish list with Santa – NO….and we worked it out! You are going to love it but here is the winner!
JAN ELMORE
her wish is going to come true as I will be sending her a complete set of Paper Swatches of all of the new DSP = (this is perfect that she commented about DSP)
Once I am able, I will be doing a full offering of Paper Swatches, 1/2 sheets of DSP , Ribbon and embellishments as I think that this is the best way to get a "taste" of new goodies without breaking the bank!
Now to the Parade of cards from Monday – I am so sorry that I did not make my "personal" comments about each of them – I need to "hit the hay" but please know – I am soooooo proud of each of you! I say WOOT-WOOT! Enjoy…..lots of talent and please feel free to leave them a comment – I know that they would appreciate it!
The challenge was to use one color of paper and one color of ink – very clever that some of you "stamped off" to give the look a twist. I received many comments that found this to be a tough one – I am so proud of you for reaching! Way to go!
What a GREAT parade! Thank YOU for all of your talent and time to do something that DOES make a difference!
Please pop back as tomorrow starts my FUN 2 day challenge where I do a simple card and then the next day – I step it up a bit! Thanks for your time and I am excited to share with you new goodies soon!
