Because of the “late start” with not being able to order…I thought – you could care less about a card today so I am just giving you a PEEK of tomorrows card and yep – many of you guessed it….the stamp set that I was just squealing about is This Little Piggy!

Many of you know that I am the proud Mama of a piggy and her name is Daisy Mae.

I adore her and even though she is not a pink piggy….(she is black with a wee bit of white) she is just BEAUTIFUL in my eyes! You have to admit, this is one cute stamp set and I bet when you see the image, you smile!

It is going to be a SUPER busy Stampin’ Up! day but a fun day!

Please feel free to email me if you need help and my fingers are crossed that today is a “smooth sailing kind of day” for the launch of the NEW catalog!

To kick off the new catalog, Stampin’ Up! is also offering a $35.00 bonus in Stampin’ Rewards for orders over $350. See the below chart and if you want a Hostess Code of your own….again, email me and I will be glad to get you set up! It is as easy as that!

I think that people imagine that this means you need to have a “in home” event…nope – not at all! Think about it this way…email your crafty friends and give them your hostess code…if the order is $350, 12% is  $42 free + $35 = $77 free!  I can help you place orders, it really is easy and their orders will be shipped directly to their home.

Each month I offer a goodie for people that order from me. Please use the Hostess Code below (the current on is always on my side bar) to make it easy for you! If your order is OVER $150 please do not use it as I want YOU to take advantage of hostess rewards but yep, I will send you the goodies for the month!

You know that I just ADORE Bakers Twine…and I am giddy about the new colors! This month, with a purchase of $75+ I will send you both the Flirty Flamingo Bakers Twine and the NEW Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals – 2 blue ribbon winners as I hope that we STICK together!

Let’s all have a GREAT DAY and have fun surfing and purchasing…..YIPPEE FOR JUNE 1st…I can here you squealing with joy!

The hour glass has turned…let’s get crafty!

Well I admit, I am doing the “happy dance” as the time is just about here to see the NEW Annual Catalog. I will say that I truly enjoyed this past catalog and I am going to be sad to see products go but at the same time I am excited to play with “new toys”

This stamp set, Crafting Together is THE BEST. I think that it is very fair to say that all of us will smile when we see it because IT IS ALL ABOUT “us” and WHAT WE LOVE TO DO!  😀

Yesterday I shared with you that taking advantage of Bakers Twine and goodies would be a fabulous gift for a crafty friend….well – how about this great card to write a note. You could easily make this a Birthday Card or a just because etc…but I think that you “get it”

There are 2 stamp sets in the NEW catalog that caught my eye the very 1st flip through…and yep – you will see the 2nd one tomorrow!  (can you guess which one it is?) I think that you all know the feeling…that feeling in an INSTANT I just have to have it  feeling!

Yep, I am so happy that Stampin’ Up! created such a fun stamp set that depicts all of the thinks that we like to do – CRAFTING and then the other one that I just had to have, because it is a Susan to the tee!

Today I watercolored the images using the Aqua Painter and a variety of ink colors. (you can see the colors that I used at the bottom of the post) but heck, you can use whatever your heart desires as we all know everything that we have is always so fun and colorful!

I also used the watercolor paper today, I usually just use the Thick White Card Stock but today I chose to use the watercolor paper because I wanted to go for the texture that it has…..(to kinda go along with the feel of the card) and also this paper is super heavy so I knew that it would be a great choice to “fussy cut out” with the paper snips and then pop up with dimensionals!

I like to tape my image to a small cutting board and tape it down to hold in place. This just seems to work for me and I find it to be the easiest as well (it is funny that we get into habits)

Below you will see the (2) DSP’s that I used. At a first glance when you see the Color Theory paper you might be thinking that you are in a paint store….well – I can see why and I will say that this is becoming a very helpful collection of paper. This little print is so subtle but it gives an instant depth.

The wood piece from the Wood Textures is just the perfect choice to ground the images. Just look at all of the different warmths of colors and hues of wood. This will be a very helpful and useful stack to have!

There really isn’t much to say than to go for it and have fun. I am glad that I used the watercolor paper as I honestly forgot how forgiving it is…because of the properties of the paper….you can slop a bunch of water on it and you will be good to go!

Even if you do not watercolor a bunch, having a package of this paper is a great idea. You have heard me COUNTLESS times go on and on about the basics – well yep, this is one of them. Watercoloring is a very simple technique that many of us THROW THAT WALL UP and say – I can’t do that…..but in fact we all know that we can and guess what….with practice and time we all get better!

I just had to show you one more time the front angle of this card. I just am giddy about this stamp set and I know that this will be inked up over and over and each and every time I will smile bigger and bigger as I truly love what I do!

There are so many ways that you could step this card up but I will admit, I am happy with it just as is! The addition of the linen thread and bow not only gave a layer of texture but it reminded my of my tin that I keep all of my swatch books in….I know that it is silly but I often tie a piece of ribbon around my containers as heck – I see them each and everyday….why not make them pretty!

Well….that’s it and guess what???THIS IS IT!

Yep, the last chance for you to get anything from the catalog as tomorrow…all of the waiting will be over and YOU can shop away and can share with you the in’s and out’s of the new catalog!

Here is an important “head’s up” for you tomorrow…

When you wake up tomorrow the new catalog link will be ready for you but Stampin’ Up! online ordering will be down from midnight tonight (May 31st until noon tomorrow June 1st) As you can imagine it is a huge job to make sure that the “cyber gods” are all “behaving” and ready to rumble for us  –  crazed crafters…so please be patient and I hope that everything is a smooth transition.

I will be like you…..patiently waiting and I would imagine if they are ready before this timeframe then we will all find out at the same time! I have a list and I am sooooooo excited! This excitement inside and being an adult is just the best! (you see….we are STILL young at heart)

Please do not be fooled that just because today is the last day….than everything will just go into the clearance….It doesn’t work that way…trust me….I have BEEN THERE DONE THAT – and them I was sad. If you want something – GET IT TODAY…just because it is retiring that doesn’t mean that it is going to clearance.  😐

I have LOTS of Bakers Twine stocked up as I just love the look of it, the ease of using it and the price – you just can’t go wrong!

Many thanks for a fabulous year with this catalog. It is a journey that I loved being on with you and I am looking forward to more fun and inspiration from what the NEW KID ON THE BLOCK will be offering to us!

Let’s Soar Away!

Good Monday….oops Tuesday to you! I hope that you had a great Holiday Weekend but if you are anything like me….when there is a Holiday on a Monday than I feel like I am playing catch up all week trying to figure out what day it is! It was a great weekend but reality is here!

This is a BIG WEEK… and a fun week for us as the NEW CATALOG launches in just 2 days!

I know that you totally understand that it is a great upcoming week because of new catalog…but then that must mean that it s a week where stamps and lots of FUN STUFF are getting ready to walk the plank!

With that said….please do not forget to check out the items that are leaving us! There are many “keepers” in there that to me are “true blues” !

Even though this “stamp & framelits” are being carried over to the NEW CATALOG…..it WILL NOT be carried over at a discounted price. For those of you  that are new…..let me fill you in – when we have a BUNDLE (which means that it is an instant 10% off) they will not always be priced that way….soooooo, the moral of the story is – you have today and tomorrow to decide!

I have blogged about this bundle many times and I will hold true to what I have said….Stampin’ Up! did a fantastic job on this bundle as the stamps are SPOT ON but the framelits – AMAZING! The details are just the best!

If you are anything like me ….you will agree that we all need more encouragement. I know that that seems so simple but really is something that I think it is fair to say  – that we all need more of!

Today…I paired it up with the fun photopolymer stamp, Over the Rainbow that IS walking the plank into the Stampin’ Up Sea of Retirement and I think that you can see….it is another keeper! I love the fact that it is a Photopolymer and for today. I used So Saffron but stamped it twice to get a heavier coverage of ink…and it was super easy to do as you can see right through!

I have a confession….I am super picky about clouds. I know that this seems strange but clouds are a hard thing to look “ok” – I like these clouds because they come in 3 sizes and they are perfect for many cards we make!

Many times, I use a dauber to sponge the sides but today – I decided to leave them plain.  Think about how many project that we make that these little gems would be the perfect “tuck in” ? I like to adhere some flat and then some popped up for more interest.

There is a Retiring Bundles list and here are my top picks for bundles (or should I say products that ARE being carried over) into the new catalog but they WILL NOT BE A BUNDLED DISCOUNTED PRICE.

  • Best Birds – I was LATE out of the gate in getting this one but I am glad that I have it….Click here to see a post on it.
  • Cool Treats – I say no more….nothing more classic that Ice Cream…Click here to see a post.
  • Dragonfly Dreams – Another classic and the framelits…..A M A Z I N G ….Click here to see a post.
  • Lift Me Up – You can see from today’s post….a super versatile bundle to lift anyone way….Click here to see Phyliss soaring!

I know that when we have a NEW Catalog coming….naturally that means that some of us are going to be sad with the retirement of products. I can honestly say that the big “hole in my heart” item that is leaving are the DSP Paper Stacks. Many of you remember that I always had them on my product shares and I am sad about that because they were just the BEST go to’s!

Many of the color families sold out ZOOM FAST but the In Color DSP Stack that I used for today’s card is still available. These In Colors will be with us for another year so if you do not have this gem, I would take a hard look at it. I think that main reason that I adore these stacks are they do the work for you….how fun and classic are the prints!

Here is your “picture ti PIN” – just hover over it and hit that familiar “P”!

Well there you go! A “keeper” of a card if I must say so myself! With the balloons the color combinations are endless and we all know the feeling inside when we see a beautiful Hot Air Balloon  – one beautiful sight! So as we bring this Stampin’ Up! Year to an end…I am sure that we will continue to soar together!

Remember, you have just have today and tomorrow to order any of the items that are leaving us. One product that I would toss into the cart (and I will have no problem with multiples) is Bakers Twine. You can never have too much Bakers Twine and even though I used Crushed Curry on this card…IT WORKS….This is on sale for just $1.80 –

Here is a great idea – you can click here for the Ribbon & Trim and see all of the offerings – who would not love a basket of ribbon and also throw in some Embellishments….what a great gift for a crafty friend….and the card that I would put with that gift….

EASY = Pop back tomorrow and it will be FRONT and CENTER!

Now go have a GREAT day!

Steppin’ it up for your Sunday!

Good Sunday to YOU! I hope that you are having a wonderful Holiday Weekend and here is your “stepped” up version for our 2 day fun that we have on the weekends. This is a card that I wish was in your hands because darn…the camera is just not giving it the love that it sooooo deserves!

I adored yesterdays card as it was sooooo clean and simple but it is that wonderful sentiment that just makes this card. I will say that today I let my “Inner Picasso” have fun and I thought that it was a fun “take” on the sentiment…

We ALL are truly artistic so don’t be afraid to shine!

This was super easy and super fun! If you are looking to change things up and have some FUN…than do this technique. All I did was take scrap piece of paper and cut our 2 circles from our nesting circle dies. If you have some punches, they would work great as well – I just had Mr. Big out for the other pieces.

I like to blend with Tim Holtz Blending tool, just a personal preference as the foam/sponge piece just velcro’s on the base. The link that I shared also has a pack of extra sponges…I like it this way because I put my used sponges in a small zip bag and label the color so I can easily grab and blend away.

I think the reason that I prefer the “tool” is the handle. I tend to be very “heavy handed” with color and I think that this blending tool allows me to have a more even pressure.

After I tap it into the ink, I tap it on my grid sheet and tap…tap…tap some of the ink off so that when I bring it over to the circle stencil there will not be a blob and harsh line. You can see that there appears to be some shading int he circles but there really is not – it was just the amount of ink I put down.

Work in a circular motion to give you the most natural results and also try many colors….you will love the blending of “new” colors when you play. I chose to stick with Pacific Point to keep the monochromatic look!

After I had the FUN of playing and blending with ink…I added the clear Wink of Stella over the pacific point Circles. It is super hard to see the beauty in the pictures but trust me, it is a perfect amount of subtle BLING without being too fussy.

The Wink of Stella Clear is a product that is a must have. It is a secret weapon to pull out to add that little “something-something” to a card.

If you have never watched this video…please watch it before you fool around with your Wink of Stella – once you follow the “how to’s” in getting your Pen primed….you are good to go! A great product for a little cost! It also comes in gold…but I rarely use that one, the clear does the trick for me!

I just think that this is a super FUN card! Just look at the layers and the textures. I added some “Droplets” to the card for a fun feel. I love these little accents and I do have them in colors as well but I tend to use the clear ones often.

Stampin’ Up! does not have these and you can pick them up at craft stores….here is link to Pretty Pink Posh – while you are there – check out this area where you can see how to help you store your BLING….do you remember I blogged about that on a Tuesday Tip last year? – It truly is a game changer! A container that you can GRAB and GO!

Here hopefully you can see the glimmer on the circles from the Wink of Stella Brush Pen. I thought that the droplets would be perfect as I knew that I had dimension on the card because of the layers and face it – there are times that a bit of bulk is WORTH IT!

Yesterday I received a card that was “extra in dimension” like this card would be to mail and even before I opened it up I knew that it was special….and trust me it was! I ask you….We take the time to create….we put our time and love into it – why not spend some extra on postage if you have bulk – the recipient will LOVE IT!

One more look with the fun envelope! I knew that this paper with the FUN polka dots would be a favorite for me. It would be super cute to make a background like I did here with the colors that are in the DSP. I hope that you can see that there are so many different ways that you can mix up techniques and come out with a fun card that is clean and simple!

You all are going to just go bonkers over the new ribbon in this catalog. Stampin’ Up! really….REALLY out did themselves and it was sooooo hard for me to “pick & choose” what to add to my Ribbon Share as I just could not include everything….but I think that the ones that I picked will be keepers for you! Look at the variety of colors that I chose…if you which to participate in a share, email me.

Hopefully your weekend is going great! Yesterday was a full day but a fun and rewarding day. After the strawberry fun we went to a Memorial Day celebration and I will say – I walked away feeling so blessed and proud. The speaker was amazing and truly was able to communicate how special this Holiday Weekend is and how we need to be proud and thankful for all of the men and women that have served our great country.

Thanks for popping in and taking a peek! I can’t wait to hear how you liked this weekend post. Sometimes it is fun to do something a bit different – isn’t that what all creative people do – they try new things to see if they like them….or if they don’t! I just love the fact that you can take simple products that we all have….(our stamp pads) and then use them with shapes and HAVE FUN!
