Happy Birthday Sabina!

Stampin' Up! Biggest Birthday Ever Bundle, White Heat Embossing, Susan Itell - simplestampin

Happy Thursday and I have a HAPPY card for you today and I admit, I have been itchin’ to make this card! (Below you will see the picture from the catalog that my inspiration came from, pg. 21)

I used the color palette that the super amazing, Mary Fish came up with for this weeks Pals Paper Art Challenge! I hope that you will pop over to the site and see what the other designers came up with and then YOU make a card using these colors (or something similar….just have fun!)

PPA-313-Aug11

Doesn’t this picture of samples just FUN!!! I knew that with my first go-through of the catalog that this bundle would make its way to Randall Lane….A FUN classic that I will use for years and years! Birthdays are FUN TIMES to make FUN CARDS! The other thing that I like about this bundle is, it will go for both young and old…you just cannot go wrong with the “B-day Classics”

Annual16_p021_a-365

Just look at the detailed framelits ~ Stampin’ Up! is just getting better and better in making more intrigue dies to make the process easier and faster! We all know that “TIME” thing gets us all of the time so whenever we find a time saver – I raise my hand and say “YES, sign me up”

Biggest Birthday Ever Bundle

Hopefully the below picture will make sense to you. Using the stampin’ trimmer…made it a breeze to cut the stripe triangle shape in half. I love these 3 colors together Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach and then against the neutral of Tip Top Taupe….a fun color combination!

Stampin' Up! Biggest Birthday Ever, Tips and Tricks, Cottage Greetings, Susan Itell - simplestampin

I know that I use the stamp set Cottage Greeting a bunch…but that is for a great reason ~ it is an A+ Stamp set and the fonts…FABULOUS!

Cottage Greetings

Today I heat embossed the Happy Birthday in White and I adore the POP…I highly suggest to use the embossing buddy to remove any static before you versamark it up and the pour the white powder over top! (TIP…..while you are prepping the embossing part – go ahead and turn on your heat tool to get good and hot so when you emboss it ~ the process will be quicker and your warping will be minimized.)

Biggest Birthday Ever Bundle from Stampin' Up!, Party Hat Birthday Card, Heat Embossing, Susan Itell - simplestampin

Let’s quickly chat about the streamers…I just used the versamark to stamp them. Remember, you just have to play around with the papers to see if you like it in the versamark or on tone. The versamark dries and will not smear! I think that it is a fun effect. 🙂

The envelope bunch board was my lifer-saver in making  a fun envelope! Just follow the direction on the board to coordinate with the size of your envelope….PRESTO!!!!!

Stampin' Up! Biggest Birthday Ever Bundle, Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine, Heat Embossing, Susan Itell - simplestampin

By all means, you would never have to stamp the hats in (2) colors like I did today, I just wanted to give it a try and it worked, it was actually FUN! Just think of all of the different colors you could use or you could easily use a DSP to cut it out.

Bermuda Bay, Peach, Flamingo

I added on the top part of my Blog a header for the Holiday Product Share….I think that this will be easier for you to click and take a look. Please remember to email me with your address to take part in the 1st wave once the catalog goes live on September 1st!

Have a fun day…do something fun…make some memories but stay cool if you live in the “HEAT WAVE” …it is HOT in Maryland!

Simple Saturday with a cutie!!!!

Birthday Fiesta Bundle Stampin' Up!, Festive Birthday DSP, Paper Piecing, Susan Itell - stampinup

O.k. – does this silly guy just make a smile come to your face! 🙂 There is just something about his expression that cracks me up! He looks like he just wants to say, HELLO – what’s your name….my name is Llama, Mr. Llama but you can just call me Llama!

I am super excited for this 2 day post for you all….but you need to pop back tomorrow to see something that will really make you smile….probably – BURST out laughing….so I warn you, no coffee in your mouth when you click on my blog tomorrow!

The ideas are ENDLESS for this simple card! Because this comes as a bundle it means 2 things:

  1. You will save an instant 10%
  2. It has framelits….so just crank Mr. Llama through Mr. Big Shot and PRESTO – he is a hunk!

Birthday Fiesta Bundle

Today I chose to use the DSP, Festive Birthday which actually is shown with this bundle on page 11in the Annual Catalog. The little bit of “paper piecing” I did was super simple. I stamped the blanket for Mr. Llama and then cut it out (the great thing is….the fringe is already on Llama so all you have to do is “green glue” the rectangle) and then for the festive banner, a simple snip in 2 areas to again, green glue down!

Festive Birthday DSP

Let’s chat about the sentiment! I am not a huge fan of inking up with markers the area that you want to stamp (but trust me, there are times that YOU JUST HAVE TO DO THAT) but for today I just masked off the words that I did not want expose….STAMPED…and then reversed it to get the next color. I find using a very “low tack” masking tape works great! (you can buy that in the painting section of Lowes/Home Depot etc…)

To give “Mr. Llama” some ground, a quick swish of the aqua painter and Sahara Sand is all that was needed – super fast, super easy…..super effective!

Stampin' Up! Birthday Fiesta Birthday Card, Festive Bitrhday DSP, Suan Itell - stampinup

If you received this…You would first LOVE the festive envelope but then when you slid “Mr. Llama” out – you would cherish it! I think he looks quite handsome with his dapper envelope!

Here is your 411, Directory Assistance photo for you to pin! (do you remember when we used 411 all of the time to get a phone number…..way before computers!!!!) 😀

I am just LOVIN’ that so many of you are being smart stampers and taking advantage of the limited edition Thoughtful Branches Stamp Bundle that I have been showcasing a bunch! Many thanks for your kind comments yesterday…and I will say, even though it is a limited edition, it is a classic that you will use for years to come!

I can’t wait to see you tomorrow….I hope that I am right that you are going to smile – LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

IMG_9345

Woot-Woot ~ it is the 4th of July and that means a day of fun and fireworks for many of us but I also hope it reminds you to be thankful for our wonderful country. We are blessed! Read to the end for a “FUNNY” and then also the winner of the card….SUPER MILO will make you laugh! 😀

I have a couple of friends that have a Birthday around this weekend fun…and here is a super quick card that I thought was super appropriate!

I was happy that the below stamp was carried over in the new catalog. I think that the sentiments are very unique and different. (Plus – the font style is fun!)

140706G

To create the 3 colors together I just used tear and tape to hold the colors together and then I ran the whole piece through that Big Shot with the stars embossing folder…super easy – super fun! (just think, you ready have the adhesive on so just pull it off and go but I would also add some to the edges as you want it to lay super flat! 🙂

IMG_9355

The triple stamping of a sentiment is a great way to make a sentiment POP…look how simple yet effective this it – just like a love, quick and easy! The “lift” of the sentiment also makes the card interesting and fun.

IMG_9347

Envelope fun…double style. You know me, I adore my envelopes and I love the DSP Paper stacks! Paper Stacks to take the worry of trying to figuring out what DSP to use! The tip for being able to get 12 envelopes for one sheet of DSP is that I cut them to 2″ X 6″ and then just take 1/4″ X 6″ stripe of coordinating paper to match your project and presto  – a beautiful envelope!

IMG_9352

Now here is a stamp set that has been around for a long time but it is one of those “old faithfuls” that you can pull off your shelf and loved it just as you did the 1st time you used it! A quick stamp on front of the envelope was the perfect touch…and I also used the “Happy Birthday” on the inside.

Have a great day ~ enjoy the Holiday and please be safe if you are traveling! Speaking of traveling….if you are a “passenger” – try to think of some layouts that you would like to try…I often will write down “to do’s” and even sketch something….try it – you might find that it works for you!

Now enjoy the pictures of the holiday that we are having ~ this was a Crab fun on Saturday….it has been a great weekend and you will laugh at Milo in a tree – James came to find me and said…..“Mom, hurry to see this – you will not believe it” – thank goodness he had his phone to snap a picture! I love my animals!

IMG_9356

P.s. – I quickly read through the comments yesterday, many thanks for taking your time to leave a comment and I do agree that the stepped up version was a girlie-girl fun card….BUT – I gave her Saturday’s card as I thought that the simplicity was more her….and the winner was….drum roll….drum roll – out of the Itell House Hat…Mary Ann H!!!! Yeah for YOU!!!!!

In closing, I do hope that each of you know how much I cherish this thing that we do and I adore my cyber friends from all over. I am so lucky to do something that I love so…and I feel such a connection to our cyber family that we have! 🙂

Step it Up Sunday!

Here you go…the same delicious cupcake with just a little extra products to make the interest and feel of the card a bit different! Cupcakes sure are a “smile factor” as you just can’t help but smile when you see one!

Emerson and I had a great breakfast together and she adored her card…feel free to leave me a comment and I will pick one person that guesses which card I gave to my 18 year old sweet god daughter! (I will actually send the lucky winner the other card because naturally I gave Emerson hers with her giftie!!!!)

The changes I made today were:

  • I added the white doilie (now this is something I rarely do and I admit, I kinda liked it)
  • Added Wink of Stella shimmer to the icing (hard to see in the pictures but a great touch)
  • Added sequins, just a couple to make it sparkle (again, something I rarely do)

IMG_9328

As I said yesterday in my post, sometimes I think that we get a bit nervous when we see a “layered stamping” set. I know that I felt that way as I thought YIKES, THAT LOOKS HARD….but the real truth is – it is NOT….especially when the stamps are marked with a (1), (2), & (3)….this way you can not mess up…just have fun!

There are 24 stamps in this stamp set and naturally you can see that the sentiments are very practical for many fun cards! I know that today I did not use the sentiment framelit words, but you know I am a total “must have them” when I see a word framelit. In this bundle you get the words “wish” and “sweet”!

Before I get to the measurements today, I wanted to give you the color combination I used for the icing and the wrapper. Again, super easy to do because the stamps are labeled with the numbers:

For the icing I used and stamped in this order: (also, this bundle is great to use up scraps). You can see that I went for 3,2,1 and the colors were going from the lightest to the darkest – have FUN using different color combinations!

Stamp #3 ~ Pink Pirouette, Stamp #2 ~ Blushing Bride and then Stamp #1 ~ Flirty Flamingo

For the Wrapper:

Stamp #3~ Sahara Sand, Stamp #2 – Crumb Cake and then Stamp #1 ~ Tip Top Taupe

I say, one adorable and fun card! Here are the dimensions that I used for this card. They are the same from yesterday and I hope that you can see that you can have a blast customizing your own cupcakes in your craft bakery! Have FUN!

  • The card base is a 4 1/4″ Square in Thick Whisper White
  • The Flirty Flamingo Layer is a 4″ square.
  • The Sahara Sand layer is 3 3/4″ and embossed with the super fun Polka Dot Folder.
  • The Pink Pirouette Dot paper is a 3″ square and then matted in the Flamingo just a smidge larger, 3 1/8″.
  • Scraps were used to create the cup cake and the sentiment. I used the new Classic Label Punch for the sentiment ~ a very handy punch to have in your stash! 🙂
  • The custom envelope was made with the envelope punch board and remember, here are the measurement for this size of envelope….they are NOT on the punch board so I would jot them down for a 4 1/4″ card and tape your “cheat sheet” to the bottom. The size is a 7 1/8″ piece of paper and then punch and score ar 3 5/8″ 🙂

IMG_9308

One more look at this fun card…pink always seems to be a hit but if you google this bundle and also go to Pinterest, you will see soooooo many great ideas used with this bundle. A timeless bundle to make birthdays special!

IMG_9320

Below you will see the supplies that I used for this card! Remember to leave me a comment and let me know how you liked this 2 day post and also guess which card I gave to dear sweet Emerson…I will pick one person that guessed it correctly and send you the card that I have left! Heck, I do not think that you could go wrong with either one!

Have a fabulous day, go make some memories! Hannah gave me a riding lesson on Oscar yesterday and it was super fun. She actually gave me very positive comments so I guess I have been doing a good job with her horse! We are going to go ride again today and then have a “spare rib feast” – a special request from the peeps! We love to grill!

Simple Saturday ~ a cupcake day!

IMG_9315

Good Holiday Weekend morning! I have a special card for you today as it is a special Birthday to my dear, sweet wonderful god-daughter, Emerson. She turns 18 today and when we talk about time going fast – ZOOM, I remember the day she was born!

Emerson LOVES cupcakes, always has….and I bet she always will. Ever since she was a little grasshopper she always wanted cupcakes for her Birthday Cake. I wish you all could see her adorable dimples and that smile….she lights up a room!

This is a BUNDLE (woot-woot, an instant 10% discount) and we all know cupcakes were great when we were all kids…they are great as adults and they are the instant thought of FUN!

142232G

I hope that my new color swatches bring a smile to your face this morning! In keeping with the “LOVE” that I have for my dogs…I thought that this would be a FUN way to showcase color combinations that I use!

Here for the colors that I used for the “ICING”I TOTALLY admit, that when I first saw a 2 or even 3 step stamp set….I was so intimidated….but it is quite the contrary as they are numbered so just follow the numbers and PRESTO – you have beautiful icing!

Cupcake Pink

IMG_9313

There are so many color combinations that you can use….I say – go to Pinterest and just look – AMAZING! There is so much talent out there, there are so many people that are gracious enough to share….again, I go back to being intimidated with layered stamping that it is a joy yo see that….YOU CAN DO IT!

Cupcake browns

Tomorrow, I will share with you the dimensions of the card, plus there will be a “STEPPED UP ELEMENT”, and YEP – this week I have one…can you guess what it is?

I think that you can see that this is a card that can be timeless…that’s what I love about the basics. I was thinking of doing something with yellows, YUM – Lemon!

IMG_9332

In the below picture you can see the embossing folder a bit better than the other pictures. I cannot stress enough how a simple embossing folder can add a dimension like no other! I admit, Sahara Sand was probably my least favorite color when I started stampin’ but I have changed my mind and I suggest that if you do not use it, try it – it is a fabulous neutral that will make your projects shine!

IMG_9317

Here is the ins and outs of this card – a fun card! I hope that you POP back tomorrow and see the simple changes that I made…hmmmm – which card did I give to Emerson…tomorrow you can guess!

IMG_9306

Now are you ready for a FUNNY!!!! John and I have Boot Camp at 6:30 this morning and he wants to go pick more BLUEBERRIES….I said that I think we have enough….he thinks differently – I am going to come home – bring the horses in and then go meet Emerson for Breakfast! Well….at least I went to Boot Camp!

Until tomorrow! Have a great day and make memories….

Happy 1st day of JULY!!!

IMG_9270

Can you believe it? July is here and this is a Holiday weekend for us as well! I don’t know about you….but – I think that the older I get, the calendar seems to be faster and faster!!! I am super excited for this weekend as 2 of the peeps will be a Home ~ Sweet Home! 😛

With a new month, we have a New Hostess Code (you will always find the current hostess code on the right side of my blog but here it is.) If you place an order with my that is $35 + I will send you this card and if your order is $75+ you will get a double whammie from me, this card and the Festive Embossing Folder!

On yesterday’s card I used the Festive Embossing Folder and I think…well, I know that everyone needs to have it as it is a super fun addition. If you already have this folder (you are smart and have good taste) but no worries, you can just let me know what other folder you would like to have. I’m easy, I just want you to be happy! 🙂

Untitled

I ask you….did you just buzz by page 108 in the catalog with this below stamp set, Feather Together? I know I did but I swear that every time I sit and take in the catalog I see something else that I love, this stamp set is just that.

You might be saying why??? First, I love that it is a photopolymer. Second, I love the price. Third, I love the sentiments. Fourth, I adore the font.

I think the reason I passed it up initially was the fact that I was having a personal pity party that there was not a framelit for the feathers. I am over that and heck, if I want to cut a feather out…it really is not a big deal.(just saying)

IMG_9273

It doesn’t get any more classic than this – I call this a keeper card and the best thing is….I would LOVE to send one your way! I have said this before but I adore when Stampin’ Up! has a DSP that coordinates with Very Vanilla.

141645G

This is what I think makes this card. I used the Moroccan DSP and I just adore it. Click here and then here to see a post I did before with this paper – I admit, I am not a huge fan of the Stamps that coordinate with this paper, (Page 67) but the paper, YES…YES…YES!!! 🙂

IMG_9274

IMG_9276

A very straight forward card like this needs to be in your stash. I maximized the DSP by cutting “just enough” to get (8) cards out of one sheet of paper and there is still plenty to use for another project. By using a different paper in the paper pack, allowed me to still create a beautiful card with not using a ton of the same DSP.

Does that make sense? I encourage you to look at your paper before you cut it to see how you can use it to your advantage. Today, I used an accent color, Delightful Dijon to add length and interest to the DSP Banner and then with a simple bow – BAM – another focal point of interest – WORKS FOR ME!

IMG_9271

IMG_9278

Let’s have a quick chat about the super cute lines on the side of the paper. This fun dot border stamp is from the Perfectly Wrapped Stamp Set below. I bet you buzzed by that as well as in the catalog, page 159 as in the catalog it is shown with a kit. I have this kit but have yet to put it together but I sure have used this stamp set a bunch.

I will put the kit together and blog about it one day but I just wanted to point out not to over look basic stamps like this one! I am getting ready to make a BUNCH of cards to send to team members and you will smile when you see them, simple yet super classic and fun!

141960G

Below is your “file for the future” picture, pin away – a great was to have a visual of what brought this card to life. The BEST THING is….you can have this card in your little paws with an order. Now that is easy!!!

IMG_9280

In closing, please remember that TODAY IS THE LAST DAY THAT I AM TAKING PRODUCT SHARE ORDERS!

Please CLICK HERE to see the post that has all of the offerings on it! I deeply appreciate all of the product share orders and I am so happy to offer them to you.

It is funny….as I work on shares I am happy, super happy because I know that you are getting the opportunity to have fun with the new product. That makes me happy because we do have so many great additions and being about to get a taste of this and that is simply the best!

If you are traveling, please be careful – I know that once peep #2 comes home I will sleep better. This is the first that Hannah has been home since entering the “real world” of having a job etc…last night she called and said, I am cleaning my apartment so when I get back, everything looks great for my work week! (I just had to chuckle inside as that sounds like me)
