“HOORAY” for the classics!

I say HIP…HIP HOORAY for many reasons!

Today John and I are probably on a plane going to see Will for his 30th Birthday….my oldest is turning 30 and the family is going to celebrate. Hannah’s flight get in about 30 minutes after us (which we are thankful for as it is GREAT to have a “young one that is tech savvy” to help her dear parents figure out driving in the city!)

Next….I think that this is a fabulous stamp set….I know that I blogged about it before and I am sure that you have seen many posts using it …WHY DO I LOVE IT???…..the font – it is classic and just so fun with the watercolor splash behind it – brilliant move Stampin’ Up! as it is a sentiment that can be used for many cards we make!

Lastly, I love that I am using the Whisper White Note-cards! True, you could easily adapt this to a regular A-2 card but I just think that these are the BEST bang for your buck! 20 Cards and 20 Envelopes for just $6.00 – YEP, works for me! 🙂

I just love blues and yellows together, how about you? I think that we all have our “go to favorites” and I just seem to like this color combination. So Saffron is BY FAR my favorite yellow that we have as it is a color that works with Bright and Bold colors but then you can pair it with something completely different and it is super soothing.

I just have to share with you the measurements as I think that this is one of those cards that you are going to want to case! It is super simple yet it has an impact that gravitates you to making it!

Naturally you can change up the colors etc…and I will say  – this is one for the masses as what a sweet card to keep on hand, “just in case”

  • The white piece that I stamped the sentiment on is 3 5/8″ X 2 1/2″ stamping in Pacific Point
  • The So Saffron Mat it s “smidge” larger, 3 3/4″ X 2 5/8″
  • The fun Polka Dot is 1″ wide and then matted in So Saffron that is 1 1/4″
  • I “lifted up” the sentiment part to make is POP!!!

Here is the picture for the future…..PIN away but please do not forget that this stamp set, along with all of the other SAB Items are only available with an order of $50.00 and just through March 31st!

I have to tell you, as a Demonstrator I get equally as giddy as you all do with this time of the year! The home office always does a fantastic job of picking “keepers” to get us through the long winter months!

Enjoy your day today! WOW – the East Coast is have some AMAZING weather and YEP, I’ll take it. I admit, it was like an act of God to try to leave for 2 days with my 4 legged friends….

Our AMAZING dog…horse….pig…donkey and oh yes – house sitter moved away and I miss her so…actually for many reasons – a super young lady! We have called in the troops and have our bases covered – there are people that are great with dogs….but know nothing about horses and vice-versa but we have all of the bases covered and are ready to have FUN with the peeps!

I will see you tomorrow – I am a girl scout and I am prepared for you all over the weekend! We will be “mixing up” a storm!

So true….”enjoy the little things”

I am doing the Wednesday “Hump Day Dance” as this is a card right up my alley! Let’s say S I M P L E all at the same time and then you will see that the 2 things that I always say to you that are true…..

  • Use the basics ~ trimmer, big shot, stitched framelits, layering framelits etc…
  • Keep it simple – use “shapes” to make a super quick and clean and simple card! I call a card like this a “formula”  – a way to use it over and over and the best thing, you will never get tired of it and you will always be able to change it up with different papers and stamps!

To start a great card comes a great stamp set (sounds basic and safe….right???)…and below you will see that I have you covered with this one! (remember, go with the sentiment stamp sets) – you will always smile as you ALWAYS can add accents to make it fun!

Look below to see the points I made – the basics! The framelits are the best but let’s chat about the Bakers Twine! It is the perfect addition to this card. I did run the twine through the bees wax tip (that I have given you before)….and yep – it gives it the “attitude” it needs! It always makes a perfect bow….every time!

Because I used the largest stitched circle and therefore I could not “mat” it with one larger, I just took (2) regular circle and had them “peek” out – just enough to add a touch of color and a natural POP of color happen!

I know sometimes I get asked, “How do you add that Bakers Twine to the back and do the loops”? – Easy answer – just put an adhesive (I like using Fast Fuse) and then JUST DO IT and do not over think it – it is when you start to overthink it for perfection….that it becoame stressful (sound familiar to anyone?????)

For the bow, I just took 3 strands of twine and tied a super basic bow and placed a glue dot…and PRESTO – pushed it on and into place!

I ask you….would YOU love to receive this? I know that after a long day or heck any day…..if I opened my mailbox and saw a classic card with such a great sentiment on it….I would beam! Sometimes we forget how incredibly special it is to just take the time and write to someone.

This would be one of those cards that I would make up in the masses and also use that DSP that I know that you are hoarding….You can accomplish 3 things in a jif!

  • YOU will be happy because not only did you have some “me time” but YOU have “created” and when we use that inner creativity that we all have, it feels good!
  • YOU will make someones day….a sentiment like this goes a LONG way with so many messages that we would want to convey.
  • YOU are using up all of that paper that I know you have that you just sit and admire. I really do not like this example as I think the 1st two are much more powerful but this one it true….we buy things and then we do not use them….so here you go – I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO USE IT UP!!!! (trust me, you will feel good) and this layout will lend itself to ANY paper we have!

I hope that you are able to “enjoy the little things” today because it IS the little things that grow to be the BIG things that make a difference. I cannot think of one person that would not enjoy and be honored to receive this card….that’s why I say it is a keeper! 🙂

I just love a card like this and I hope that I have inspired you to see that keeping it to the basics just simply works. It is as easy as that! I would love to hear how you like today’s card!

I will not see you until Friday – I will miss you tomorrow but as I like to say “Life is Life” and I need to be where I need to be! Have a fabulous day and go and make a difference to someone! Keep it SIMPLE! (I just love that motto)

Remember, you can click here and see the NEW SALE-A BRATION offerings….you guys are lovin’ that sparkle paper…and I GET IT….it’s a beauty! With every $50.00 you spend, you can pick a FREEBIE….and if you spend $75 with me….you can get that FREEBIE plus I will send you a brand spankin’ new VersaMark Pad…..we can always use this super product!

“Hooray”…it’s Monday!

Well…are Mondays a good thing or a bad thing? I am embracing today as I am putting my foot down to no more Kleenex’s….no more pity parties…time to move this sickness train on and hopefully SQUISH IT so no one else gets the bug!

In 8 days…..there will be 3 NEW Sale-a-Bration items becoming available for you with a $50 purchase….and I think from the chats I have seen – YOU ALL really – REALLY like them! Today I am using the stamp set, Reverse Words. It is fun and unique!

Hands DOWN – I adore this stamp set – you all know how I feel about great sentiments and free-hand words like this! I think that it is brilliant and that font is….. oh so special! I ask you, how can you go wrong?!?!?

I took the “meat “ from this FREEBIE stamp set and then the “potatoes” are from the super great “fall back” of Cottage Greetings in a super simple banner!

Below you will see a picture that you can see the sequins and some FUN dots made by a product called Nuvo Jewel Drops….they are super fun – very easy to use and they come in a huge array of colors – the biggest “head up” is…be patient and let them dry and they will stay “perky through the mail”

I love the look and feel that they give…It is one of those – secret touches that make a big impact.

Here is my “smile” picture…darn I love when everything coordinates! This paper is from the Annual Catalog, Moroccan DSP and I have used it a BUNCH as it lends itself to so many clean and classic projects! The “In Color”, Delightful Dijon will be walking the plank on June 1st but I do not know if you are like me….it takes a while to learn to love and appreciate these In Colors and I am personally going to miss this one!

Here is your picture to PIN…this card today is a great example of how something soooooooo incredibly simple can be soooooooo classic! Be simple…be brave…..you will be happy!

Speaking of being happy…Pop back tomorrow as I have a video for your “Tips for Your Tuesday”.…it is all about conditioning your stamps as we need to think of our stamps are like a new pair of shoes….they need some time and TLC before they are comfy!

Enjoy your day…and I hope to see you tomorrow!

“Winging it Wednesday” with Chris R.’s help!

Well…did I get you with this subject line? I hope so as I want you all to know that YOU are the ones that inspire ME! I received this card from our dear Chris R. from Iowa that is famous from her wonderful comments and I just has to CASE it!

Do you remember that I shared with you the how I feel about CASING? Well…I say ~ GO FOR IT….and when I received this card from Chris, I knew that I needed to do a blog post!

You know that I am “Plain Jane” with my simple style (sorry if your name is Jane – I have many friends named Jane) and I am not one that does odd “folds of cards” (pssst…Jeanie LOVES fun fold cards) but I just knew that you would love this!

I also know that you all LOVE when I share with you dimensions…..and I am ALL FOR THAT as this is how we CASE without frustration 😀  This layout can be used with SO MANY stamps that we have but you already know…..I adore this stamp set….as I love to cook and I love it when we have “puns of sentiments”

  • Card base is 5 1/2″ X 7 3/4″ and then scored at 1 3/4″ and 6″
  • The Sweet Sugar Plum Mats are 1 1/2″ X 5 1/4″
  • The DSP is 1 1/4″ X 5″
  • The inside Sweet Sugar Plum Mat is 4″ X 5 1/4″ and the White is 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″

Use the “shapes” as you will…as you can see that the sky is the limit with how you can use different shapes to fit the stamps that you use. I will say that if you do not have these Stitched Shapes Framelits – you need to take care of that – HIT THAT PAW PRINT and be happy that you are the proud owner of a “keeper”….just sayin’ 😀

This is a FUN card that I would keep in that wonderful memory bank of yours….but actually – I would try to make this card today as it is right in front of you and then I know what will happen….it is soooooo easy – you will SMILE….you will be HAPPY…..you will be PROUD OF YOURSELF…and then at the end you will feel that WONDERFUL FEELING of I DID IT! (and that makes ME happy) 😛

Thanks to Chris R. for this great card for me to case and I hope that it tickles your fancy! You all are the best and I look forward to seeing you here tomorrow…one thing about me, I love what I do and I love sharing with YOU!

There you go….will you try it? I hope so as you know that this is out of my box….but I will say that I like this box! It is a great layout and one that will go a long way with so many different stamp sets that you have!

Many thanks for the “love and comments” of my post yesterday! I am so tootin’ excited that we have a FASTER internet ( I kind of feel like Green Acres) so watch out – you will see more videos but they will ALL be “one take wonders” but I think the message will be delivered!

Happy HUMP day and until tomorrow….have a great day and go out and make someone smile!

p.s.- Chris R. ~ thank you for making me smile with this great card! 😎

Simple Saturday!

Hello to all and welcome to Simple Saturday! I have just been ITCHIN’ to ink up this stamp set and it felt great to do so! This stamp set, Avant Garden is a FREEBIE one from the fabulous Sale-a-bration collection of freebies that you can pick with every incremental order of $50.00!

I know that I have shared this with you all a bunch but I love to point it out….PLEASE USE THE FABULOUS SAMPLES in our catalogs for inspiration! The minute I saw the card (below) in the SAB Catalog, I knew that I was going to CASE it…and that is exactly what I did today!

It’s funny…there are times that I have people ask me if I think it is wrong to CASE…..I say, “HECK NO” – if it helps your “mojo” get kick started than by all means ~ GO FOR IT! Remember, that is super flattering to someone that you liked it so much that you wanted to give it a spin!

This is how I went about making this super sweet card. I pick my focal colors that I wanted (Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum) and went from there! The leaves were Pear Pizzazz.

I just had the above Stampin’ Up! Sample up on my computer and became “Picasso” and sent to town to try to interpret it. The lighter pink is the Flirty Flamingo “stamped off once” to give it a softer look and basically a totally different color.

Can you see my boo-boo…..it happens to use all, a “wobble” of the bock will do this 👿 but there was no way that I was going to start over….JUST MAKE LEMONADE! 🙂

The PRESTO was making a strip that would hide my boo-boo…..we can call if a paper band-aide!  It was 1 /2″ wide and then I matted it with Tip Top Taupe just a smidge larger!

Now I think that we all can agree…this is a card that I think anyone would be proud to send. Let’s chat about that SUPER FUN polka dot paper, this is from the In Color DSP Stack…it is just always the perfect finishing touch (this is why I always include them on my Product Shares…when in doubt – pull the DSP’s out)

I can share with you thins…in looking at peoples favorites with the SAB items…the most popular are this stamp set, Avant Garden and Hey Chick! I can remember when I was a customer, I loved this time of the year and always looked forward to these FREEBIES. Remember, with every order of $50.00 ~ you can pick a FREEBIE from the SAB Catalog!

Enjoy the day…we are already blowing through the 1st month of the year…….(On Wednesday I was going to remind you that Christmas was 11 months away…but I just couldn’t do it) 😆 ~ heck  – I walk through our home and still find odds and ends of Christmas!!!

Lil’ Chick is a happy chick!

Meet peepers! She is a part of the Hey Chick’s Sale-a-bration Stamp set and let me tell you…..peepers is happy that she is not in the egg carton! (I told her that she never has to worry about being a fried egg sandwich)

O.k. – I am just getting this out there right off the bat – I LOVE THIS CARD! It “cracks” me up (sorry peepers) and I think that this is a great card to say a “WAY TO GO“…..”THINKING OF YOU“….or just a good old fashion “HELLO“! 😀

We have been having lots of fun with the Hey Chicks Stamp Set and I still need to feature the other hen…but trust me, I’ll do it! This SAB item has been soooooooo popular!

Speaking of being SUPER popular and it is on backorder…today is the last day that you will be able to order the Watercolor Pencils before Stampin’ Up! flicks the switch to say that they are not order-able (kind of like they had to do with the stitched framelits) as these pencils have been SUPER POPULAR and if I were you…..I would HIT THAT PAW PRINT and get them now.

This is from the home office in regard to the pencils :

  • In order to give you time to contact your customers so they may close any affected orders, this product will remain available until Thursday, January 26 at 12:00 PM (MT); it will then be placed in not-orderable status.

So the moral of this pencil story is….order them this morning this way you will be assured that you will get them (even if they say that they are on back-order) – once they go to not-orderable…..there is no tellin’ when they will be available. 😕

Speaking of the pencils, remember…if your order is $75 + I will send you a set of the blender pens. These work great with this watercolor pencils and they are like “magic” – swipe the end back and forth and it is clean and good to go! Please use the hostess code of S4WKPUZG

Let’s get to peepers…..this is a note card size (3 1/2″ X 5″) and they are a great bang for your buck! Just $6.00 for 20 cards and envelopes….I say – BRING IT ON!

I simply cover the entire front with the sweet DSP from the Sending Love DSP Stack and I had plenty to adhere to the outside of the envelope.

Let’s chat about this stamp set – Perfect Mix…I bet that many of you thought – WHAT THE HECK when you saw it…well I said – COME HOME TO RANDALL LANE…..I LOVE to cook and I love the fact that you can have fun with the “pun” sentiments. This type of stamp set is very on trend right now, there are several other companies out there with a similar product – I think that it is super fun and fresh!

I know that you like sizes and I get it….when I see a card that I want to CASE – wow…sizes make me smile! The size of the thick whisper white is 3 3/4″ X 2 3/4″ and then I matted it with just a “peep” of black to help the POP!!!! (again, sorry peepers…you won’t end up at the grocery store and get cracked)

After using the Black Archival Ink all I did was simply use the watercolor pencils with the blender pens – it is as simple as that but here you go again, simple WORKED.simple is CUTE and face it – SIMPLE IS JUST SIMPLE!

She is one happy little chick and I am excited to send her out! I think that I am going to make up a bunch of these to keep on hand – they are just too tootin’ cute! I am excited to read your comments about the “new chick”

That it my chicks! Let’s have a great Thursday….I admit it was wonderful to see the sun shine yesterday….the blankets came off the horses and yep – they rolled and rolled in the mud and I am sure that it felt great to them! I was starting to feel like “blue cheese” with all of the rain we have been having – (at least it is not S N O W ) 😛

Again, if you are interested int he watercolor pencils, I would get them this morning as there is not tellin’ when they will be back in stock. Remember, with a $50.00 order you will be able to pick a FREEBIE SAB ITEM (perhaps these HOT CHICKS) and with a $75+ order – you get both the FREEBIE and the Blender Pens!

See you tomorrow!

p.s. – In memory of Mary Tyler Moore….what a great quote!
