Good Holiday Weekend morning! I have a special card for you today as it is a special Birthday to my dear, sweet wonderful god-daughter, Emerson. She turns 18 today and when we talk about time going fast – ZOOM, I remember the day she was born!
Emerson LOVES cupcakes, always has….and I bet she always will. Ever since she was a little grasshopper she always wanted cupcakes for her Birthday Cake. I wish you all could see her adorable dimples and that smile….she lights up a room!
This is a BUNDLE (woot-woot, an instant 10% discount) and we all know cupcakes were great when we were all kids…they are great as adults and they are the instant thought of FUN!

I hope that my new color swatches bring a smile to your face this morning! In keeping with the “LOVE” that I have for my dogs…I thought that this would be a FUN way to showcase color combinations that I use!
Here for the colors that I used for the “ICING” – I TOTALLY admit, that when I first saw a 2 or even 3 step stamp set….I was so intimidated….but it is quite the contrary as they are numbered so just follow the numbers and PRESTO – you have beautiful icing!

There are so many color combinations that you can use….I say – go to Pinterest and just look – AMAZING! There is so much talent out there, there are so many people that are gracious enough to share….again, I go back to being intimidated with layered stamping that it is a joy yo see that….YOU CAN DO IT!

Tomorrow, I will share with you the dimensions of the card, plus there will be a “STEPPED UP ELEMENT”, and YEP – this week I have one…can you guess what it is?
I think that you can see that this is a card that can be timeless…that’s what I love about the basics. I was thinking of doing something with yellows, YUM – Lemon!

In the below picture you can see the embossing folder a bit better than the other pictures. I cannot stress enough how a simple embossing folder can add a dimension like no other! I admit, Sahara Sand was probably my least favorite color when I started stampin’ but I have changed my mind and I suggest that if you do not use it, try it – it is a fabulous neutral that will make your projects shine!

Here is the ins and outs of this card – a fun card! I hope that you POP back tomorrow and see the simple changes that I made…hmmmm – which card did I give to Emerson…tomorrow you can guess!

Now are you ready for a FUNNY!!!! John and I have Boot Camp at 6:30 this morning and he wants to go pick more BLUEBERRIES….I said that I think we have enough….he thinks differently – I am going to come home – bring the horses in and then go meet Emerson for Breakfast! Well….at least I went to Boot Camp!
Until tomorrow! Have a great day and make memories….

Good Morning and today I have for you a SUPER SIMPLE card that still carries a WOW....and just look – no stamping on the front of the card…be you can clearly see that this is so simple, so affordable and pop back tomorrow for the dimensions and then best thing ~ you can make it too!
The whole magic of this simple card is the little embossing folder! When you purchase it, you actually get (2) little ones but they are adorable! What a great little POP of texture.

I will say, I used the new platform for the Big Shot and WOW, it gives such an easy “pressure” that really makes the embossing stand out and I adore not having to “flip the tabs” from the old one. FYI….all Big Shots that are purchased from now….come with this new platform so there is no need for you to purchase it.
Enjoy the pictures below, you can clearly see the clean and simple lines of this card and the color – how can you not smile with yellow! 🙂

I just love paper, as layers of paper just add so much to card making. When I showed my best critic, John ~ he immediately said – do nothing else – I love it! I listened but now you will have to pop back tomorrow to see how I made some simple changes to step it up a bit.

The scoring of the mat layer of Daffodil Delight really helped bring the embossed floral part POP. Isn’t it funny how just paper can produce such a classic card! This would be one to make up in masses and then add the appropriate sentiment when you needed a card.
I simply stamped the inside of the card with what I stamped on the outside of the envelope. “Sending a smile your way” from the Love & Affection Stamp Set. THe fun DOT PAPER is from the Brights DSP Paper Stack!

I know that you all love to hear about my fur babies….below you will see sweet Jack – I think that he is in denial that he can fit into Rosie’s bed. Usually he does not come up to my work area but I turned around and saw him all snuggled in (well I guess he is comfortable) and I had to take a picture! Too cute!

I hope that you d not feel that this card is to “plain Jane” – (sorry if you name is Jane….but I think that you will get it) – BUT….using simple tools like this simple embossing folders work….less is best!
Let’s have a great weekend….John and I are up for Boot Camp at 6:30 and then off to do one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES, picking blueberries! We LOVE blueberries and there is nothing like going in the country and picking them fresh! See you in the morning!
We are into our last week of the deal of the year, the ultimate bundle for just $99 and you can get ANY (2) Stamp Sets your little heart desires – it is as simple as that! Promise….email me if you have any questions!

Here you go….SIMPLE it is today! Just call me “Simple Susan” – it doesn’t get any simpler than this! This weekend post might “DEFLATE” many of you but I hope that you can see the FUN way you can say thanks to someone!
The 2 stamps that I am showcasing today are the SUPER FABULOUS Watercolor Thanks Single Stamp (which is going bye-bye) and the Work of Art that has made it in the catalog for the next year!

You all know that Polka Dots make me smile so naturally this card makes me smile. It is a super simple one layer card that brings you back to your childhood with playing with paint and making “Ink Dots” – (I think that there are coloring books that you can dab ink in dots – sounds like great therapy!!!)
When you break down this stamp set…you can see the possibilities of making true works of Art….plus there is great sentiments!

The card size is a note card size and yep…I love them. I still find myself scratching my head why many of you do not like them. They are made from the thick cardstock and already pre-scored and have envelopes….20 for just $6.00, I ask you – how can you go wrong!?!?

There is not much to tell you about the ins and outs of this card as it is very obviously easy…but I encourage you to have FUN picking colors and try to stretch yourself and play with new color combinations.
Let’s go back and chat about this single stamp. You need it. It is a keeper. It is a classic. It is still available (well the last time I checked) and for just $9.00 you will thank me for nudging you to purchase this!

You have heard me say before that there are some stamps that would not leave Randall Lane, this is one of them. I truly love it and I wish that you could see how inked up the wood block is that it is on. (I like to say that this is a sign of being well-loved) 🙂
My feelings are…if there is something that you love…then why not use it over and over again? It’s kind of like clothes…the longer you keep them around, the better chance they will come back in style!!!!
Please make sure that you check out the retired and clearance racks. When May 31st comes – they are gone and please do not make the mistake in thinking that the retired stuff will just go to clearance…it usually does not work that way! I say if you want it – GET IT…..if it doesn’t make your heart pitter patter…..that’s great to – Go get inky with some toys you have!!!!
Stampin’ hugs….
p.s. – please do not forget to use the hostess code found on the upper right of my blog to be able to have me send you a handmade card ($35.00+) order or both – a roll of Tear-n-Tape and the card with a ($75.00)+ order!

Wow…many thanks for all of the A M A Z I N G comments that you all left yesterday! It is always such a treat to read your thoughts. Together we learn from each other, together we support each other and together we inspire each other! 🙂
Before we get to the card today, I am sure that many of you are wondering…DID I WIN???? DID I WIN??? Well, one thing for sure…someone did so let’s see who it is!

WOOT-WOOT to you Elizabeth and I agree…I AGREE!!!! Hang onto your hats when you see the new DSP…..we were only able to pre-order 3 of them but WOW – they are gorgeous and I do hope that you all are using up your DSP that you have because you are going to LOVE THE NEWBIES (yep, I will be doing a product share to give you a taste of it all without breaking the bank)
Now to the next part of your wonderful comment….we are one big happy family – my motto is….If it is not fun…why do it?!?! I have fun…and I love what I do so you all are stuck with me! 🙂 Thank you ALL – for your comments and Elizabeth, please email me with your address and I will send you your adhesives!
Today is a fun and festive card and I adore the color combination. I told you that I was going to use the other 2 new kids on the block – Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy. (they are BEAUTIFUL….don’t you think?????) Darn I just wish that I could share with you all of the new goodies in the catalog….but trust me, there are some fun stamps sets and bundles.
This stamp set, Swirly Bird is a very unique one….and yep, it comes as a bundle and you can see in the pictures below how fun and modern it is. You can see that today I made it super easy…but you betcha that it is one that you can really, really do some FUN things with.

You just cannot go wrong with laying white on white – never goes out of style…always looks so clean and crisp! Sometimes I feel like I do this over and over but it works – please do not stress yourself in feeling the need to always be trying a new style – I say, do what works and feels good to you!

Looking underneath the Dapper Denim piece – can you see that there is a stamped image…I stamped it off and then stamped it to give it a lighter feel. Layering is easy and it also gives a great sense of depth to your cards.
I did the same with the leaves and you can see that the difference then you stamp full strength….again, it gives instant depth.

To help break your eye from the too much white today, I did a simple scored lines across the top – just enough to give it balance. When I score lines like this, I prefer the Simply Scored Board over the scoring blade on the Stampin’ Trimmer….WHY? – I just think that it gives deeper lines which give a more dramatic effect. I know that having both tools are a bit “over kill” but honestly, they did not have the trimmer when I already had the Score Board.

You know that I am still sad but getting over it that the Envelope Liners are going bye-bye….so I am going to continue to give my envelopes some Susan FUN love….and hang on to your hats!
You are going to be super surprised in what I am going to say and share with you….In the NEW catalog…the offerings of Washi Tape are OVER THE TOP FUN! Seriuosly, I know that many of use that make clean and simple cards find it hard to work in washi tape….but here I did across the top of the envelope (p.s. – Mary Ann – you are going to be soooooo excited)

One more look and one more comment – I know that it is super hard to see and tomorrow I will try to get a closer picture for you but I took a blender pen to the leaves in the sentiment to blend it a bit – a super easy thing to do and it gives a soft effect.
This sentiment is from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set and I am thrilled that it is being carried over. This is one that has an amazing variety of sentiments….perfect for both the inside and the card front! (I love sets like this)

In closing I thank you. I do love what I do and I feel very blessed to be able to share coffee, laughs, learning together and just sharing LIFE. This is soooo much more than making cards and I hope that you can embrace that.
There is nothing like going to your mailbox and seeing some love from a friend in a card. I think as I get older I truly appreciate and do my best to keep life simple….to me, the simple things are so powerful and fulfilling. I find myself with this internal struggle of having to do…and do …and do – but when I create and I am just enjoying the simplicity of doing what we do….I smile. 🙂
Thank you for being you and popping in to see SIMPLE me! I hope to see you back tomorrow…as I will step it up, a bit!
p.s. – Isn’t John the best!?!? I was so touched to have him leave a comment. Please know that he is in awe of ALL OF US…he truly thinks that this whole fun thing we do…is amazing!

Hello and I am back home…it has been a L O N G but FUN and R E W A R D I N G 4 days! Back to the grind on the home front but today I think that I might have some of you scratching your heads.
I say that because it will be super hard for you to tell a big difference between the 2 cards and you are going to have to keep an open mind and hopefully I will be able to walk you through the differences.
I had both John and Hannah stumped and they could not understand why there is a difference between the 2. When you hold them in your hand, you will see the difference. The end result is that Hannah is thrilled with the note cards as she needed a new supply from Mom!
Today I am using (3) products that are “walking the plank” ~ Itty Bitty Accent Punches, the deco Label Framelits and the Larger than Life Alphabet Stamp. Here are my thoughts about these products…
Itty BItty Accent Punches – a must have as they are always a perfect filler for here and there ! I bet I use one of them just about daily and there is not a replacement of them in the new catalog (I don’t get it but that is ok as there are tons of new goodies) 🙂

Deco Label Framelits – I really love and use the “nesting” framelits. I will keep these for my personal use as I find that I do use them often as I like the shape and they are practical for me.

Larger Than Life Alphabet Stamp Set – When this came out I adored it because I just love simple monograms like I am showing you today! I do agree that it is very expensive but the way that I justified it was….look at how many gifts I used then stamp set for. This make a wonderful and useful gift to give a friend, a package of personalized note cards handmade by YOU!

Now hang on to your hats….I have a ca-zillion pictures for you! Just take it all in and feel free to leave me a comment if you have questions….suggestions….or simply have something to say! Today is a day ALL ABOUT BEING HOME….and it will be a “jammies” day with NO GUILT!!!!!
I know that I fall short in responding to your comments, but leave me one and I will pop on and answer your questions! I hope that the pictures will help shed light to this FUN card….

The biggest difference is….the below (Simple Saturday) the green frame and the initial is adhered together with tear and tape and then adhered, POPPED UP on the front of a note card!

The below, (Step it up Sunday) is just one more step…I cut a piece of whisper white 1/4″ smaller , than cut with the deco framelits like I did above…..

Please use your “stacking framelits” to the max…in the below picture you can see how you can achieve a “ring” – a perfect sandwich to use!
Trust me…this new catalog is F A B U L O U S and there are L O T S of nesting framelits in there….this is G R E A T because framelits take up so much less room than punches and we are going to have L O T S of C H O I C E S! 🙂

Use the tear tape to adhere together… it is F A S T … it is E A S Y… it is S T R O N G!

The fun foam that you see in the below picture is not a Stampin’ Up! product, it is a product that I like when mounting a rather large area…I do purchase it from Amazon and I must say, I like the feel it gives to a card. Here is the link to the one I use!

2 more images of each below…..I hope that you can see the difference and then visualize or better yet, try to see which style you like….you must admit…the flowers and the pearls are the icing on the F U N cake!

Yikes – I have not looked in the “walking the plank” lists for the past couple of days….I am sad. 😥 The Craft Scissors are gone…..good think I am good to go!! Remember, when they are gone…they are gone!
Many thanks for your patience and understanding….my “joy tank” is filled to the max from the past several days….and it is great to be home….but it will even be better having a “jammies” day today!

***sorry for the delay this morning….the computer and I were not getting along last evening*** 😈

In keeping with the theme of the week…
USE UP YOUR DESIGNER SERIES PAPERS
Today’s card is showcasing just that plus (2) of my favorite stamp sets…Watercolor Words and Flower Shop. When you get to the end of this post you will see that I just showed the Flower Shop as a bundle….well yep – I did that on purpose as you know that I do not steer you wrong, this set you really will want the matching punch!
I think coordinating punches are one of the best “speed tools” we can have and today’s card you can clearly see that the flowers are popped out perfectly….and that makes us smile! 🙂

It truly does not get any easier than this…I must admit, there are days that I look at my cards and think why does anyone need to see this as it is so simple and perhaps a bit boring….but remember when we have talked about developing a “style” that is in your comfort zone ~ well this is my comfort zone.
White card base…a layer on top…a 1″ piece of DSP…and the stamping….DONE = works for me!

In the above picture I popped up one of the flowers with one dimensional and then the flower to the right, I “doubled” up on the dimensionals – sometimes I think this just gives an extra touch, creating extra depth. The white accents in the middle of the flowers are a soft touch and they are much easier to mail (as the are rounder)

Let’s chat about this sentiment…don’t you just LOVE the font and the carefree script look it gives? I will be a sad Susan if this set, Watercolor Words gets on the retired list…I adore this set and have used it over and over and never get tired of it….this is what I call a true blue keeper set! (remember this list of retired products will be unveiled on Monday)
One thing that I do know…the Flower Shop Stamp set will be carrying over. Stampin’ Up! listed a very short list of some stamp sets that were in the catalog in case people wanted to make swap cards for the event that is taking place right now in Salt Lake City…….this makes me happy as I love these flowers.

Let’s pull it all together in the last picture for the day…I love it – how about you???? Simple, Clean, Special….I could go on and on. Now I ask you – can you see yourself making this card?
I say…PULL OUT THAT PAPER that I know you have and make some cards. You will feel so much better using up your DSP and then the bonus – you have some cards on hand so when you need them…you are good to go!

Have a great Saturday and my fingers are crossed that the cyber gods and I just were having a “moment yesterday”….it is to be a beautiful and SUNNY day here…no reason not to be happy and blessed with that!
