by Susan Itell | Sep 6, 2015 | Christmas, Step it up Sunday! |

It is “Step it up Sunday” and I made just a couple of little changes but I think that it makes a difference. I honestly cannot decide which one I like better…to me; they both are great clean and simple cards!
Every week I ask John….”Tell me, which one is Simple Saturday and which one is Step it up Sunday”…he usually gets that right and then comes the next question….”Which one do you like better?” ….that is the time that he usually pleads the 5th as he always says I am setting him up!
He is my biggest fan of my Stampin’ Up! fun….and he thinks it is fun that I do these weekend posts! This week…right off the bat he said that he liked today’s because he liked the pearls!

Here are the differences from yesterdays card:
- I made the Navy a bit smaller ~ and added the gold behind the navy part…the great thing about this is that you can cut the “merry” out as it is covered up!

- I added pearls on the ornament and them 2 little ones by the sentiment

- I changed the liner in the envelope as I was think that many of you might have said that if you bought the vellum stack and wanted to make a bunch of these cards that it would not be affordable as you only get 3 sheets of each papers!
This vellum stack does have (12) of each papers (6) gold / (6) black but today I used the vellum that is in the annual catalog…did you remember that we had this? It comes in the strips like I am showing today as well as the fun Polka Dots!

Another option that you could do is change up the gold with silver as this vellum paper is also in silver! A great and classic combination with the silver would be with Elegant Eggplant ~ wowzers….that would be beautiful.

This card is in the running for my Holiday Card this year…..I can remember a couple of months ago I did a card that I really liked and said that was in the running…I just need to write these important things down!!!!
In a nutshell – this card would be a super easy card to mass produce…. remember to break down mass producing into steps…this way you will “enjoy the journey a bit more” and have fun! Remember….this is all about having fun….no stressing allowed!
Eddie update…my little buddy turned his nose up to breakfast but held out for some chicken last night….my theory is, whatever Eddie wants….Eddie gets! (James bought him a new toy yesterday so he is super happy) He still cannot understand why he can’t go out and play ball…I have just been doing a catch and toss in the house and he is happy with that!
I do plan to do many more cards and projects with this fabulous bundle. It is just beautiful and the attention to detail with the ornaments is over the top! I did play with the new precision plate and I really like it!

I think that thing that I like best is that it gives a clean cut….not nearly the amount of "stray pieces“ that seemed to cling on to the image that you cut (hope that makes sense) and also….sooooooo much easier to pop out (like this sentiment today)….a keeper!
Thanks for popping by today and remember to use the Hostess Code of YHNMUJNJ when you place an order and with a $50.00 order, I will send you the super cute holiday box and with a $75.00 + order, you will receive the box as well as the NEW must have Embossing Folder ~ Woodland Textured …..

I hope that you are having a great holiday weekend….be safe , have fun, make memories and I hope to see you back here tomorrow! As always, you can email me ….and I do hope that you can “get inky”!

by Susan Itell | Sep 5, 2015 | Christmas, Simple Saturday, Super Easy |

It's the weekend and it is the holiday weekend! I hope that if you are traveling, that you have fun…make lots of memories but please be safe! You all really do not need me on this card as it is SUPER-DE-DUPER simple but I think it carries a HUGE PUNCH……what do you think!
I am all about being clean and simple and this is a "Susan Card" – it makes me smile, it was easy, it is affordable, it is classic! I would be proud to send this card out and just think of all of the different colors you could use! Today, I chose Night of Navy as I adore a classic Navy and White!
Before we get to the card….I need to say a very heartfelt thanks to so many that have left a comment, sent me emails etc….about my dear sweet Eddie…..I was so happy that he ate last night and seems happy. He had gone for many days without eating and I think that he was super weak from that and then his "Ball Game" with his brothers was too much for him….but please know he is happy.

Our Vet did not think that he would have been with us last Thanksgiving and John and I were hoping and praying that he would hang on until the kids came home. Well….he did and as a family we decided that we would not put him through a surgery and chemotherapy…..he not only hates going to the Vets, he actually does not like leaving our farm (except going in the truck to the dump)….so Eddie will be here and be happy until I can see it in his eyes that it is time!
O.k. – sorry for rambling on but you all know by now my animals are a very important part of my life and I deeply thank you for your concerns and Eddie feels super special that he has so many that are thinking of him!

This is a super straight forward card and we need to talk about "bundles" – Bundles are groupings of (2) products that Stampin' Up! puts together for you to purchase as one unit and you will get an instant 15% off.
In the "scrolling store" below, I am only sharing with you these as a bundle as I feel so strongly that the IS the best way to purchase this! You can purchase them separately and there are times that I honestly have not taken advantage of a bundle….but this on – a total keeper!

Today's clean and simple card is a vertical A-2 card in the THICK Whisper White Card-stock. If you have not used this yet….hit that shop now and put it in the cart – you will never go back to the regular for your card bases….but I still use the other for many things – stamping sentiments…etc….

The Night of Navy is just 1/4 smaller and I scored it all the way around, (1 notch in) oops – I forgot to put the Simply Scored in the scrolling store! I use this soooo much, I know that the Stampin Trimmer also scores but I think that this is much deeper for the effect that I was going for!
I took the ornament framelit and made a cut and then added a piece of gold paper behind before I adhered it to the base! Oops again, I used the tear & Tape Adhesive to do this! I ADORE this adhesive…a keeper!

The "merry" was cut out twice with the Vanilla Coaster Board and then once in the navy. This is a great way to make a statement and it really does not take too much extra time….well worth it!
I adore each and every sentiment framelit that comes out…to me they are a great anchor for a clean and simple card!

As I said yesterday, we have some amazing paper in the new catalog, and the below picture will help you see that this paper stack is beautiful! I used the "green glue" to adhere the liner to the envelope…just on the gold stripes to conceal it!

Doesn't this make a great card! The vellum just sets it off….adds a classic and crisp look! Triple OOPS, I forgot the envelope liner in the store…..Silly Susan!

Now that is it my friends…..don't you agree that this really is a SIMPLE SATURDAY card that YOU can make? I do hope that you will pop back tomorrow and see how I "stepped it up a bit" – sometimes we like added touches….sometimes we don't!

Have a fun Saturday, have fun if you are away and please have fun….we are "hanging out" here at home doing nothing but everything at the same time! I love not having a schedule and being with John and the animals will be a fabulous weekend!
Eddie thanks you for your kindness and until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Aug 2, 2015 | Christmas, SNEAK PEEK!!! |

Good Sunday Morning to you! I am starting to feel like myself….I do not know about you but when I am away and then I come home – I always feel like there are a ton of things that need to be done…but the reality is…they will be there so enjoy the journey!
I am so touched by the amount of comments that you all left on Friday's Post about the (2) things that are different than my normal style….it was sooooo fun to read the comments – you all are the best! Click here to see that post.
- what I did differently than I normally do??? = I ADDED (2) BOWS….many of you did get this!
- and why I did it??? = I DID IT BECAUSE AT THE MAKE & TAKE…THEY USED A STAPLER TO HOLD THE RIBBON AND VELLUM….and I am just not a "staple gal", who knows – maybe I'll have a change of heart but I just had to cover it up!
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed reading your guesses….we need to do this again as it is wonderful to see and hear all of the different thoughts!
I hope that I did not offend anyone about not liking staples on a card as an anchor but I think staples should be for holding paper together….(I guess I am a bit old fashion and like I said, maybe I will see the light of this trend!)
This was soooo much fun…..kind of a scavenger hunt – and I just LOVE games! Thanks a bunch!
Let's get to the card today…you can see that I switched it up a bit and I must say – I love it! It is super clean, fun, fresh and I loved Friday's color…but I love this as well!
This should show you that it is fun to change up with color and you can create a totally different mood.

The mood totally is changed with the Mossy Meadow and the Real Red! To me, great Christmas colors to celebrate the season. I adore the simplicity and font of the sentiment, "Joy" is such a great word and means soooo much….a perfect touch!

This card would be a fabulous card to "mass produce" as is uses minimal product when you break it down and it goes super fast as I used punches for the circles….WOOT-WOOT – speed tools to the rescue!
Remember to break down your projects if you are going to make a bunch….one day cut your card stock and pop out the circles…next day you could do your stampin' and dashes and dots…hopefully you can see how you can break it down…that's what I do when I make up my monthly kits…this way it stays fun and you do not get stressed!

As I said in the photo…..I have a new product that I love…the Corrugated Paper, it comes in both Kraft and White and they are 12 X 12 pieces…(they are on page 148) and a little is the perfect touch. I just love the texture it gives and look, the piece is sooooooo thin and look at the impact it makes!

The Merry Moments Designer Series Paper was the perfect accent to make the envelop special! Plaids, Polka Dots and Stripes always make me smile and I think that this whole card make me happy. I do think using the tone on tone with the Christmas Trees works perfectly.

I know that vellum can be tricky to work with as you need to "hide" where your adhesive is…and just like the Corrugated Paper, a little goes a long way with the effect. The white gel pen works great on vellum, just remember that it needs to dry well so be patient!
I know that the weekend 2 day post was not here this weekend but I do think that this card today is "stepped up" from the card on Friday! True the card on Friday has the fun bling paper (I broke down and ordered some after making the make-n-take) and that is also why I decided to add it to the product share for the new catalog.
A little goes a long way…..enjoy the day and remember that tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of the weekly deals, you can click here to see the offerings but the great news is….on Tuesday we will get more new weekly deals!
Please do not forget that I offer a "rewards program" that will allow you to earn free stamp sets.Click here - Simple Stampin’ Paw Prints Rewards to see my Paws Rewards program and feel free to email me if you have any questions!
Enjoy the day…..I hope that you enjoyed this Holiday Card – until tomorrow!

by Susan Itell | Jul 31, 2015 | Christmas, New Product, SNEAK PEEK!!! |

Is this calendar really right? I cannot believe that another month has ZOOMED by and I needed to sneak a Christmas in July card in for you! I did it in June and everyone was in denial about Christmas being 6 months away but now we are down to 5!
You know that I am working with limited supplies and here is a sneak peak from the new catalog! I know September 1st seems like ages away but it will fly around fast – this is the magical date of when the new catalog will be available for you to order from.

We made this card a convention at a make and take and I naturally had to add a couple of "Susan touches" to it….the bakers twine bow in multiple pieces and my signature "dots" – here is a game for you….look at this card and tell me:
- what I did differently than I normally do
- and why I did it and the 1st person to get it will win this card(well you know me, I'll have to send you more than this card….so look and be quick )

This is going to be a great stamp set to work with and to have fun with…You could easily adapt the "presents" as a Birthday Present…change the sentiment up – PRESTO, you have a new card!
At convention, we also learned a technique in how you twist the stamp completely around to make a "plaid print" – super fun and easy!

Do you see the peak of glimmer paper….oh so subtle and I am one that is not a huge fan of sparkle but I have learned from seeing some great ideas at convention on how you can do so in a very subtle way that actually gives a great accent!
Do you see that thin green ribbon….another new goodie that is a must have in the new catalog! You will be able to take advantage of all of the new goodies when I offer my Paper, Ribbon and Embellishment Share – this is the best way to get a "taste" without having all of the "calories – $$$$"
John's plane was delayed 4 hours yesterday and I had already left for the airport (1:45 minutes away)….so naturally I sat and sat (when I checked it was on time but the air conditioner was out in the plane….they had to get off and then finally had to board another plane) Unfortunately we missed Hannah's presentation but we had great intentions!
We are on the road and it will be great to be home but it has been a great time away! I hope that you are as excited about this stamp set as I am….it's a keeper!

by Susan Itell | Jun 25, 2015 | Christmas, Embossing Folders, Super Easy |

Did you see the date today….yep – it is June 25th and we know what that means…6 months from now it will be Christmas. I say YIKES…REALLY….WHAT HAPPENED…wowzers, time sure does fly! I thought it would be "fitting" to honor this milestone and I am sure that I am hearing lots of sighs…
This is my kind of card…simple and to the point! This would be a super easy card to "mass produce", something that many of us like to do with our Holiday Cards. I know that many of you like to make several cards and then make multiples of them – this is one card that I would not forget about!
The DSP is from the Merry Moments DSP and from one piece of of DSP, you can make 12 cards as the width of the DSP is 2" - and then matted a "smidge larger" in Old Olive. (Now don't forget use the inside of this paper to pop out punches etc…as you will be covering it up)

I also used the new Heavy Weight Whisper White Cardstock….LOVE IT – once you use it, you will not go back. The other thing is that the "White's match"(so you can easily use our regular whisper white layered on top) I know that this sounds crazy but trust me…you can put 5 sheets of paper that are white from different sources and they all look a bit different.
I was THRILLED that Stampin' Up! carried over this fabulous stamp set, Festival of Trees and it also comes as a bundle which will save you an instant 15%. I caution you when you order, if you want the bundle…make sure that you get the right numbers. (I cannot tell you how many times I see a punch and then forget to look for the bundle number)

The sentiment is from Sassy Salutations, and this is one of the very first stamp set I purchased when I was a customer. I have used it a ton and I still think the fun font today is as fabulous as I did back then, years ago! I call that a "keeper"!
I admit…I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig as how in the world would I have a crooked sentiment on such a clean and simple card!

Here is a great tip to save your DSP…for the envelope fun I used a scrap of real red and than ran it through the Big Shot with the SUPER FUN large Polka Dot Embossing folder….remember, this is on the weekly deals.
I like to do this as it saves you money but it still provides you a WOW and a fun card. I use "green glue" to adhere the card stock to back flap and let it "set up" and then trim off the excess.

Let's get some comments going…
- If you make Holiday Cards….when do you start to make them?
- Do you make all of your cards the same or make several different styles?
- Do you like to "mass produce" making your cards?
Many thanks for your sweet comments about James coming home…he arrived safe and sound and Leo has not stopped hopping all over the place…he was used to living in the city so our 30 acres is heaven to him.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions and I hope to see you tomorrow….hopefully Jeanie will be coming over today or tomorrow so I can get to you her fun works of art!

by Susan Itell | Dec 18, 2014 | Christmas |

I know that we have all seen so many incredible Holiday Cards this season….but I just had to share this with you! I love the "formula" of it and it is a card that I made for my Dad to send to his friends! I hope that you enjoy this "merry" card!
I was lovin' today's Pals Paper Art Challenge and I hope that you can give it a try….I have turned it around a bit and I love the end result! Here is the sketch…have fun and I hope you play this week!!

This is my take on this …..I adore the Mossy Meadow for Christmas…I kind of feel sorry for Always Artichoke as that was my prior "go to" Holiday green.

The base is an A-2 card card in Very Vanilla and then the fun dots are just a 1/4" smaller….what a FUN backdrop! Whenever I can find a way to use the DSP Paper Stacks I will. They are always great as you know your colors will always match!

Seasonally Scatter has been a favorite for many of you…and I must say – I hope that Stampin' Up! carries this stamp set over for next year! After stampin' the "merry" – all that was needed were some simple dots around the edge.

Can you see that I adhered the 2 colors together and then ran it through the Big Shot with the FUN polka Dot Folder before popping it up wth dimensionals! I used sticky strip to hold the 2 papers together….so fast and easy!

I think that we all know this…Stampin' Up! has the best ribbon……I first adhere a simple piece of ribbon and then added a simple knot with a glue dot to do the trick!
The envelope….I took a piece of solid Mossy Meadow and then ran it though the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Folder…PRESTO – instant fun!

When you break this card down….it is super simple, classic and very easy. It can easily be adapted for so many different occasions.
Please pop by the Pals Paper Art website to see what the other Design Artist came up with…the ideas and inspiration are endless!
I adore your comments, I adore the time you spend with me and I appreciate your business with my super fun Stampin Up! fun!!!!! You can always shop 24- 7…..click here to have the "brown man" come to visit you!
Until tomorrow…..IT'S THE PARADE OF SWAP CARDS!!!! Woot-Woot!!!!
